More Evidence Chauvin Juror Lied During Selection (VIDEO)

Brandon Mitchell, a juror in the trial of former Minneapolis, Minnesota, police officer Derek Chauvin, apparently wore a George Floyd-themed T-shirt at least twice, despite public denials.

The Washington Times reported Wednesday:

Chauvin juror Brandon Mitchell has said he doesn’t remember wearing or even owning a George Floyd-themed T-shirt, but it turns out he sported it more than once.

He wore the shirt, which says “Get Your Knee Off Our Necks/BLM,” during an Oct. 19 episode of “The Wholesome Podcast,” a dating-and-relationships show that he co-hosts, as shown on YouTube and flagged Wednesday on social media.

The apparent YouTube video of Mitchell’s podcast reportedly shows him (at left) wearing the T-shirt in question:

Chauvin’s Conviction Will Never Be Enough For a Democratic Party Bent on Destruction; Corporate America Virtue Signaling In Wake of Derek Chauvin Murder Conviction

By The Federalist. The law has spoken. On Tuesday, a jury found former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty on counts of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and the second-degree manslaughter of George Floyd. After weeks of lawmakers and commentators chiming in and expressing a desire for Chauvin to be convicted, this wish has finally been granted, barring a retrial.

Yet the jury’s decision will not be enough for the left. It never was meant to be. To Democrats, Chauvin represents a systemic racism woven into the fabric of the United States — white supremacy that can only be quelled by restructuring the entire American system.

The case’s coverage was rarely truly about Chauvin, Floyd, or what really occurred on May 25, 2020. The left molded it into yet another example it claims proves black people are categorically murdered by American police. Still, data from 2017 to 2021 shows police shot whites to death in higher numbers, and regardless there is no proof that recent police shootings of black people have been racially motivated. . .

Racism happens in America, just like in every place. The left uses this to construct the myth that the United States as a whole is systemically racist, and that the only way to counterbalance this false premise is to riot against the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities. This could not have been better depicted than in Rep. Maxine Water’s, D-Calif., latest outburst this weekend. Corporate America Virtue Signaling In Wake of Derek Chauvin Murder Conviction

By Breitbart. Corporate America did not miss the opportunity to weigh in on the jury finding former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty on three counts of murder in the death of George Floyd, with Twitter feeds flying and corporate statements pouring into email boxes since the decision was announced on Tuesday.

Floyd’s death sparked violent protests across the country and solidified radical racial justice groups like Black Lives Matter, which encouraged violent protests and found financial support from some of these same corporations.

Chauvin Awaiting Sentencing, but Case May Not Be Over

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of three counts for the death last year of George Floyd, is awaiting a sentencing hearing that could give him decades in prison.

But that likely isn’t the end of the case, with commentators noting multiple grounds that could appear in an appeal brief. . .

Noted legal expert and commentator Alan Dershowitz was much more confident on that subject.

According to Washington Examiner, he said, “Well, first, what was done to George Floyd by officer Chauvin was inexcusable, morally, but the verdict is very questionable because of the outside influences of people like Al Sharpton and people like Maxine Waters.

“Their threats and intimidation and hanging the Sword of Damocles over the jury and basically saying, ‘If you don’t convict on the murder charge and all the charges, the cities will burn, the country will be destroyed,’ seeped into the jury room because the judge made a terrible mistake by not sequestering the jury,” he said. Biden Vows to Tackle America’s ‘Systemic Racism’

President Joe Biden hailed the jury’s decision Tuesday finding former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty on all counts in the murder of George Floyd, but says it is just the start in fighting the “systemic racism” in America.

Following the verdict, the president promised Floyd’s family their victory was only the beginning, vowing to push for further policing reforms and “much more.”

Floyd family attorney Ben Crump took a call from Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris after the verdict was announced, and the lawyer put the phone on speaker for the family gathered around.

“Nothing is gonna make it all better, but at least…now there’s some justice,” the president began. “I think of Gianna’s comment, ‘My daddy’s gonna change the world,” Biden said, referring to Floyd’s daughter, before declaring, “He’s gonna start to change it now.”

Derek Chauvin Found Guilty On All Charges; Here’s How Much Prison Time the Ex-Cop Faces; VP Harris Says That’s Not Enough

By NBC News. Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts Tuesday for his involvement in George Floyd’s death, a verdict that could send the disgraced former Minneapolis police officer to prison for the rest of his life.

Chauvin’s eyes darted left and right over his light blue surgical mask as Judge Peter Cahill read the jury’s verdict, but he betrayed little else in the way of emotion.

Chauvin, who was convicted of second- and third-degree murder, as well as second-degree manslaughter, stood up quickly after the judge ordered his bail revoked and compliantly placed his hands to be handcuffed before he was led out of the courtroom. He faces up to 75 years in prison when he returns for sentencing in eight weeks.

Outside the courthouse in downtown Minneapolis, which had been enclosed with razor wire, the crowd erupted into cheers when word of the verdict filtered out.

“All three counts! All three counts!” the crowd chanted as cars honked and people danced on the blocked off streets, some of them waving Black Lives Matter flags. (Read more from “Derek Chauvin Found Guilty On All Charges HERE)

Here’s How Much Prison Time the Ex-Cop Faces

By New York Post. Derek Chauvin faces a maximum of 40 years in prison following his conviction Tuesday for killing George Floyd during a botched arrest in Minneapolis.

He could get up to four decades behind bars for the top count of second-degree murder. The second count of of third degree murder carries a penalty of up to 25 years, but he will only be sentenced on the top count as per state law, said Samuel McCloud, who has practiced criminal law in Minnesota for 44 years.

The third count he was convicted of, second-degree manslaughter, carries a 10-year maximum — but he also will not face sentencing on that count as per state law, McCloud said.

While second-degree murder carries a “statutory maximum” of 40 years in the state, Chauvin will likely face far less time when he is sentenced, as per state sentencing guidelines. (Read more from “Here’s How Much Prison Time the Ex-Cop Faces” HERE)

Kamala Harris Says Guilty Verdict for Derek Chauvin Isn’t Enough

By The Federalist. Vice President Kamala Harris said that while the jury in former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial may have found him guilty of murdering George Floyd, their verdict is not enough to “heal the pain that existed for generations.”

“Let’s say there is a guilty verdict on the highest charge, it will not take away the pain of the Floyd family. It will not take away the pain of the communities, all communities, regardless of their color or geographic location, that felt sadness and anger in what they witnessed in that video,” Harris told CNN on Tuesday shortly before Chauvin was convicted on all charges.

While Harris signaled that the “consequence and accountability” for Chauvin is a step in the right direction, she continued to spout off why judicial justice won’t remedy the “pain” caused by years of what she has previously called rogue policing.

“This verdict is but a piece of it and it will not heal the pain that existed for generations, that has existed for generations among people who have experienced and first-hand witnessed what now a broader public is seeing because of smartphones and the ubiquity of our ability to videotape in real-time what is happening in front of our faces. And that is the reality of it,” Harris continued.

Judge In Chauvin Case Rips Maxine Waters: ‘Disrespectful To The Rule Of Law … Abhorrent’; Pelosi DEFENDS Congresswoman’s Disturbing Comments; WH: Protesting Injustice ‘Most American Thing Anyone Can Do’

By Breitbart. Judge Peter Cahill blasted Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) on Monday for her remarks Saturday that there should be unrest if the jury fails to convict Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd in Hennepin County, Minnesota. . .

“I’ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned,” he said, later adding:

I’m aware of the media reports, I’m aware that Congresswoman Waters was talking specifically about this trial, and about the unacceptability of anything less than a murder conviction, talked about being confrontational — but you can submit the press articles about that. This goes back to what I’ve been saying from the beginning. I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law,, and to the judicial branch and our function. I think if they want to give their opinions, they should do so in a respectful, and in a manner that is respectful to the Constitution, to respect the co-equal branch of government. Their failure to do so, I think, is abhorrent, but I don’t think it has prejudiced this, with additional material that would prejudice this jury. … A congresswoman’s opinion really doesn’t matter a whole lot.

Pelosi: Maxine Waters Shouldn’t Apologize For Comments To MN Protesters

White House on Derek Chauvin Verdict: Protesting Injustice ‘Most American Thing Anyone Can Do’

By Breitbart. White House press secretary Jen Psaki spoke Monday about President Joe Biden’s support for protests, ahead of the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial in Minnesota.

“His view is also that exercising First Amendment rights and protesting injustice is the most American thing that anyone can do,” Psaki said.

She added that Biden wanted the protests to remain peaceful.

Psaki responded with the president’s views during the White House press briefing after she was asked for a response to comments by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) calling for a “more confrontational” approach if the jury found Chauvin not guilty. Chauvin Won’t Testify At Murder Trial in George Floyd’s Death

The defense at the murder trial of former Officer Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd wrapped up its case Thursday without putting Chauvin on the stand, presenting two days of testimony to the prosecution’s two weeks.

Chauvin informed the court that he would not testify, saying he would invoke his Fifth Amendment right not to take the stand. . .

Some prosecution rebuttal testimony was expected to follow Thursday. Closing arguments are set for Monday, after which the racially diverse jury will begin deliberating at the barbed-wire-ringed courthouse, with Minneapolis on edge against a repeat of the protests and violence that broke out last spring over Floyd’s death. . .

The only time Chauvin has been publicly heard defending himself was when the jury listened to body-camera footage from the scene last May. After an ambulance had taken Floyd away, Chauvin told a bystander: “We gotta control this guy ’cause he’s a sizable guy … and it looks like he’s probably on something.” (Read more from “Chauvin Won’t Testify At Murder Trial in George Floyd’s Death” HERE)

Derek Chauvin Trial Begins; Democrat-Run City Residents Must Prepare for Verdict

Derek Chauvin’s Lawyers ‘Arguing That George Floyd Does Not Deserve Justice’: Cori Bush

By Fox News. Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., said Tuesday that defense lawyers for fired police officer Derek Chauvin are “arguing that George Floyd does not deserve justice” and described the news cycle surrounding the trial as “trauma.”

On Tuesday, the mixed martial arts fighter who witnessed Chauvin’s May 2020 arrest of Floyd told a jury he called 911 after watching the events unfold because he believed he “witnessed a murder.”

The trial continued into its second day on Tuesday for Chauvin, a 45-year-old former officer who was seen on video holding his knee against Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes during the May 25 arrest. He is facing charges of second- and third-degree murder and manslaughter.

Bush has advocated for positions that include restricting qualified immunity for officers. She praised Democrats’ “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act” for addressing the topic earlier in March. Democrat-Run City Residents Must Prepare for Derek Chauvin Verdict

By Breitbart. If you live in a city run by Democrats, you need to prepare yourself for the possible aftermath of the Derek Chauvin verdict.

If Chauvin, the Minneapolis police officer on trial for the death of George Floyd (P.S. Minneapolis has been run exclusively by Democrats for decades), is found not guilty, America’s left-wing terrorists in Antifa and Black Lives Matter will almost certainly make last year’s riots look like a dress rehearsal.

Last summer, after that awful video of Floyd’s death hit the Internet, where did the worst of the violence hit? In these Democrat-run cities: Los Angeles; Minneapolis; Fayetteville; Atlanta; New York; Nashville; Seattle; Portland; Philadelphia; Chicago; Milwaukee; Salt Lake; Washington, DC; Detroit; Indianapolis; San Francisco; Kansas City; Houston; Charlotte; Cleveland; Pittsburgh; Denver; Dallas; Phoenix; Tampa; Baltimore; Oakland; Louisville, and even a little place called Kenosha.

Does anyone doubt the terrorists in Black Lives Matter and Antifa are planning and plotting for a second wave of violence should Chauvin be acquitted?

Furthermore, does anyone doubt the Biden Justice Department will be okay with this violence — will stand by and do nothing? Keep in mind His Fraudulency Joe Biden believes America has this violence coming — even though it only happens in cities that overwhelmingly support him. George Floyd Family To Be Paid $27 Million

Minneapolis will pay a record $27 million to settle the lawsuit brought by George Floyd’s family.

Attorneys for the family called it the “largest pre-trial settlement in a civil rights wrongful death case in U.S. history.”

“When George Floyd was horrifically killed on May 25, 2020, it was a watershed moment for America,” family attorney Ben Crump said at a Friday afternoon news conference. “It was one of the most egregious and shocking documentations of an American citizen being tortured to death by a police officer…. one of the worst ever witnessed in history.”

“History will judge us for how we responded to this tragedy.”

Crump applauded Mayor Jacob Frey and council members for the settlement, saying Minneapolis was being watched in its darkest hour: “Now the city can be a beacon of hope and light and change for cities across America and across the globe.” (Read more from “George Floyd Family To Be Paid $27 Million” HERE)

George Floyd Trial to Be Livestreamed

A Minneapolis judge upheld his decision to livestream the contentious March 2021 trial of the four officers arrested in connection to the death of George Floyd.

Judge Peter Cahill originally ordered the trial to be televised on Nov. 4 due to nationwide interest in the outcome of the case and limited courtroom capacity during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Minneapolis-based Star Tribune.

Cahill refused to back down from his decision in a Friday order, despite pushback from state prosecutors and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, who together insisted public streaming would cause trial violations and intimidate witnesses, a separate Tribune report detailed.

“Without question, deprivation of the constitutional rights that are the hallmarks of a public criminal trial would be a ‘manifest injustice,’” Cahill wrote in early November, according to the Tribune. “The only real issue then, is whether there is a reasonable alternative to televising the trial that would vindicate the defendants’ Sixth Amendment rights and the First Amendment rights of the public and the press.
