U.S. Has the Power to Arrest Feds Attempting to Enforce Gun Control

Any state or federal agent looking to enforce gun control laws is going to want to think twice before heading to Newton County, Missouri, where the county commissioners recently reaffirmed their commitment to the Second Amendment. Under the newly-passed ordinance, the county sheriff has the authority to arrest anyone enforcing anti-gun legislation.

“Newton County Missouri declares that it must be the duty of the courts and law enforcement agencies to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms and that no person, including a public officer or county employee of this county or any political subdivision of this county, can have the authority to enforce or attempt to enforce and federal laws, orders, or rules infringing on the right to keep and bear arms,” the ordinance stated. . .

Commissioners also took into account any potential anti-gun legislation and policies currently in the pipeline, whether in Congress or the White House. That is why the ordinance said the county would not recognize any laws that would limit a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms. Those laws would be deemed “null and void” in Newton County. State House Pulls Trigger on Packing Heat Without a License

The Indiana House voted Monday to repeal a state law that requires residents to purchase a license or permit in order to purchase a handgun.

House Bill 1369, if passed by the Senate, will allow a person to purchase and carry a handgun without a state license or permit in Indiana, Fox News reported. The bill would still prohibit certain offenders from obtaining and carrying a handgun.

The bill passed the House by a 65-31 vote, Fox News reported. To acquire a handgun in Indiana a resident must be at least 18 years old, have their fingerprints taken and complete processing through a local law enforcement agency.

“The bill is for the lawful citizen in the state of Indiana,” said Republican Rep. Ben Smaltz who authored the bill. “This bill is for the person who obeys our laws who right now has to jump over hurdles to be the person who gets the permit.”

These Businesses Are Backing Gun Control Initiatives

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms launched an initiative last year aimed at providing information to Second Amendment-loving Americans. The goal was to provide a comprehensive list of companies and/or CEOs who back gun control initiatives and legislation or have anti-firearm corporate policies in place.

“When we started this project last year, we were actually surprised, and in some cases disappointed, at some of the businesses we added to the list,” CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb said in a statement. “We discovered several brand name businesses and corporate leaders who evidently have a nefarious agenda to limit gun rights. Their current and potential patrons should have the knowledge of what their hard earned dollars are actually funding.”

The CCRKBA recently added Gucci to the list after it was revealed the high-end brand donated $500,000 to the March for Our Lives organization, which launched after the Parkland shooting in Florida. March for Our Lives quickly used the funds to advance anti-Second Amendment legislation, Gottlieb said.

No More Guns Forever? Supremes Asked to Fix Firearm Diagnosis

The Supreme Court is being asked to fix the diagnosis of a lower court that a man who once was sick is always and forever sick.

The “once sick, always sick” concept came in a ruling by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that removed the Second Amendment rights of a Washington state man, Duy T. Mai.

Mai suffered a mental crisis as a youth, more than 20 years ago, that required him to be committed to an institution. But since then a state court has determined he’s not a danger to himself or to others.

The court said the symptoms that led to his commitment “are not reasonably likely to reoccur” and under Washington state law he “is free to own a firearm.”

However, the 9th Circuit insisted federal law prohibits those who have “been adjudicated as a mental defective or [have] been committed to a mental institution” from ever again owning a firearm. (Read more from “No More Guns Forever? Supremes Asked to Fix Firearm Diagnosis” HERE)

Republican Congressman Considers Suit Over ‘Unconstitutional’ House Gun Ban

Rep. Chip Roy (R., Texas) said he is weighing whether to take legal action against the “unconstitutional” metal detectors and fines instituted by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) to stop members from carrying guns on the House floor.

“It’s an outrage. I believe it deprives us of our Second Amendment right to defend ourselves,” Roy said. “On January 6, I was sitting on the floor of the House of Representatives. The only thing between me and an angry mob was a handful of Capitol Hill police officers who had their hands full.”

He said the deadly violence of that day demonstrates the need for members to be able to protect themselves even on the House floor. He disputed the notion that the metal detectors were a safety measure. The new system, he argued, will make it harder to defend the building because it directs police resources to target representatives rather than protect them. “This isn’t making us safer,” Roy said. “This is a political show.” . . .

“This is an unconstitutional deprivation of my right to defend myself. Period. Full stop,” Roy said. “I do not care what Speaker Pelosi says about it. I do not care what anybody says about it. That is what the Second Amendment means. That is why it is there.” (Read more from “Republican Congressman Considers Suit Over ‘Unconstitutional’ House Gun Ban” HERE)

Dems Push Psychological Evaluations for Family Members of Gun Owners

A massive Democratic gun-control plan that could be called the “head shrink job protection bill” would require weapon owners and their family members to undergo “psychological evaluations.”

Gun owners also would have to pay the government $800 in “insurance” fees, and a long list of weapons simply would be banned. .

The bill from U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, follows Joe Biden’s promise during his campaign to put Beto O’Rourke in charge of his gun-control policy after the onetime presidential candidate said, “Hell, yes, we are going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”

Jackson Lee says the bill should be known as the Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act

It gets right to the point, requiring a “psychological evaluation” that follows standards established by the attorney general. It’s to be done by a “licensed psychologist approved by the attorney general” and to include interviews with “any spouse of the individual, any former spouse … and at least 2 other persons who are a member of the family of, or an associate of, the individual.” (Read more from “Dems Push Psychological Evaluations for Family Members of Gun Owners” HERE)

Gun Sales SOAR Nationwide; How Many Guns Did Americans Purchase in January?

By The Daily Item. Federal background checks for firearm purchases hit record totals across the nation and in Pennsylvania in 2020, continuing a trend of increased checks coinciding with presidential election years.

The reasons for the increase in background checks and firearm sales, particularly in late 2020, those in the industry and gun owners say, are varied.

Some are concerned the new Biden administration will layer additional restrictions on gun and ammunition sales.

Others are concerned with growing division across the nation and distrust of law enforcement personnel.

Some simply want to protect themselves and their homes or are concerned about law enforcement being able to protect them. (Read more from “Firearms Sales Hit Record Highs in Pennsylvania, Nationwide” HERE)

Boom in Gun Sales Continues in 2021

By Toledo Blade. Toledo-area gun store owners are reporting bare shelves and a months-long backlog as the demand for firearms and especially ammunition continues to exceed the supply.

They expect the 2020 record firearm and ammunition sales levels to continue at least for several months until pandemic-based anxiety and increased societal division subside.

Local stores are reporting an influx of first-time gun buyers, pointing to doubts about the election and fears that President Biden might keep his gun-control campaign promises. (Read more from “Boom in Gun Sales Continues in 2021” HERE)

How Many Guns Did Americans Purchase in January?

By Townhall. Democrats control both chambers of Congress and the White House. One of their top priorities, outside of another coronavirus relief package, is pushing a radical gun control agenda. Once again, Americans are rejecting that policy position and showing support for the Second Amendment, as evidenced by the latest numbers released from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

The FBI conducted 4.31 million background checks in the month of January, its highest on record since November 1998. . .

According to Mark Oliva, the NSSF’s Director of Public Affairs, the Biden administration and their anti-gun stance have fueled Americans’ purchasing decisions, especially when it comes to firearms. . .

“January’s NICS figures clearly spell out that the demand of law-abiding Americans to purchase firearms isn’t abating. It is growing. Three of the top 10 weeks and one top 10 single day for the highest number of FBI NICS background checks occurred in January,” he explained. “Taken into context that all but one of the top 10 weeks and four other top 10 single-day records occurred during the 2020, when 21 million background checks were conducted, these are a jaw-dropping figures to start the New Year. Americans are claiming their Second Amendment rights to provide for their own safety in record numbers.” (Read more from “How Many Guns Did Americans Purchase in January?” HERE)

The Biggest Gun Forum on the Planet Was Just Kicked off the Internet Without Explanation

AR15.com, the biggest gun forum in the world, was deplatformed on Monday by web hosting company GoDaddy. . .

The swift termination by internet host GoDaddy forced AR15.com’s leadership to think on their feet and quickly create a temporary URL so “freedom lovers and firearm enthusiasts” could continue to access the information and resources on the site.

Instead of offering specifics about kicking the gun site off the internet, GoDaddy merely claimed that AR15.com violated its terms of service, which resulted in instant termination.

“On Monday, January 11, 2021, I received notice from our site registrar that AR15.com had violated their terms of service and that AR15.com would be shut down immediately,” President and Co-Founder of the gun site Juan Avila told The Federalist in a statement. “The registrar’s decision to de-platform AR15.com was final and no method to appeal was offered.”

“It remains unclear specifically what content allegedly violated the registrar’s terms of service,” he added. (Read more from “The Biggest Gun Forum on the Planet Was Just Kicked off the Internet Without Explanation” HERE)

Get Ready for the Biden Gun Grab

Democrats now have single-party control of the federal government. President Joe Biden styled himself as the most moderate candidate his party had to offer. And still, during the campaign he promised to put Beto O’Rourke – the man who blurted out “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s” in charge of his administration’s gun policies.

Whether or not President Biden and gun czar Beto aim for a program of national gun confiscation, we should expect some sort of major crackdown against the Second Amendment and against our other liberties. The congressmen who ducked, covered, and cowered – in now iconic photos – when protestors entered Capitol Hill will almost certainly draw the wrong conclusions. They will not – like Congresswoman Lauren Boebert – realize that their safety is fundamentally in their own hands and therefore carry arms and fight for the right of all Americans to do so. . .

Biden also wants to ban the sale of “high capacity magazines” and “assault weapons” altogether. The old argument “why would anyone need a high capacity magazine” should have been effectively answered by scenes from this summer’s riots, as business owners faced off against huge mobs intent on burning down their business and ending their livelihood. But the left doesn’t want them to have that protection. And as for the old question “what exactly is an assault weapon?” You can bet that they will try to define it as expansive as possible, to try to ban as many physical varieties of guns as they can.

The Biden campaign also promised to do a national “buy-back” of so-called “assault weapons.” The misleading term “buy-back” conceals the fact that if Americans don’t want to give up their guns, they will be forced to register them with the federal government. The fear about this has always been that this national database could be the prelude for a direct federal gun confiscation program, like what the left always applauds Australia for and like Beto O-Rourke said he wants to do here.

If you had asked me last week just how endangered our Second Amendment freedoms are, I might have been less concerned. I would have said that a Republican Senate will hold back the worst excesses of the left. I would have pointed out that many people argue that Biden is a good enough politician to realize that he won on an historically small and contested margin and commands historically small legislative majorities, that he therefore knows he does not have the same mandate Barack Obama thought he had to “fundamentally transform” America after his landslide victory and the total implosion of the Republican Party after eight years of George W. Bush. (Read more from “Get Ready for the Biden Gun Grab” HERE)

Concealed Carry Permit Holder Shoots, Kills Armed Robbery Suspect Inside Chicago Store

A concealed carry permit holder shot and killed a would-be armed robber at a Chicago cell phone store on Saturday, according to police.

The robbery suspect entered the Metro by T-Mobile store, located in Chicago’s Humboldt Park on West Chicago Avenue, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Fox 32 reported.

Police told the outlet that the suspect was shot in the abdomen and chest by a 29-year-old man, who hasn’t been identified. It also wasn’t clear whether the shooter was another customer or a store owner or employee, but he did have a valid concealed carry permit, police said.

The would-be armed robber was pronounced dead after being transported to Stroger Hospital. Meanwhile, police reportedly confiscated the weapons of both the suspect and the concealed carry permit holder.
