Hunter Biden’s Lawyers to Meet DOJ as Special Counsel Remains Unnamed by Garland

Hunter Biden’s lawyers will reportedly meet in coming days with U.S. prosecutor David Weiss and one Justice Department official after an IRS agent alleged the improper politicization of a tax probe into the president’s son — all while Attorney General Merrick Garland refuses to name a special counsel in the case.

As far back as May 2019, Hunter has been under investigation by the DOJ for tax fraud, money laundering, and violation of lobbying laws. Federal prosecutors, led by Weiss, have reportedly considered charging Hunter over a year ago for three tax crimes and one gun crime.

Though Hunter has so far avoided indictment, prosecutors could bring charges against him, sources familiar with the investigation told CNN. In the coming days, the case will be discussed between the DOJ, Weiss, and Hunter’s attorney, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN. Apparently Hunter’s lawyers called for the meeting.

On Wednesday, an IRS whistleblower alleged two Biden administration political appointees within the DOJ are working to block charges against Hunter for tax violations against recommendations. IRS Commissioner Dumbfounded by Hunter Biden Whistleblower Accusations; Hunter Biden: IRS Whistleblower’s Claims Are a ‘Felony’

IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel was dumbfounded in a Thursday closed-door Senate Finance Committee meeting about IRS whistleblower complaints that contend two Biden administration political appointees within the Justice Department have blocked charges against Hunter Biden for tax violations, a source familiar with the meeting told Breitbart News.

Commissioner Werfel, who was placed as the head of the IRS by President Joe Biden, had no answer for Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) when she questioned him about the whistleblower’s bombshell allegations.

“When did you know about the whistleblower? When did you know about this misconduct of Hunter Biden? How did you find out, did you try to block any part of this investigation?” Blackburn demanded to know.

“I’m asking about your and the IRS participation in this, not the particulars of Hunter’s returns,” she added. . .

Hunter Biden: IRS Whistleblower’s Claims Are a ‘Felony’

By Breitbart. Hunter Biden’s legal defense on Thursday argued it is a “felony” for an IRS whistleblower to reveal that two Biden administration political appointees within the Department of Justice (DOJ) allegedly blocked charges against Hunter for tax violations despite recommendations.

Hunter’s attorney, Chris Clark, said in a statement that “[i]t appears this IRS agent has committed a crime” by asking lawmakers for whistleblower protections to reveal allegations of deep politicization within the DOJ.

Clark, a high-profile attorney who leads Hunter’s criminal defense, said it’s improper because “it is a felony for an IRS agent to improperly disclose information about an ongoing tax investigation.”

Report: Federal Prosecutors Weighing Four Charges Against Hunter Biden

Federal prosecutors are weighing three tax charges and one gun charge against Hunter Biden, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Biden could be charged with two misdemeanor counts for failing to file taxes, a felony count of tax evasion related to business expense and a felony gun charge, NBC reported Thursday. The Washington Post previously reported investigators were closing in on tax and gun charges for Biden, citing sources familiar with the case who spoke on condition of anonymity.

U.S. Attorney in Delaware David Weiss, a Trump administration holdover, would be tasked with filing charges against Biden. A former close associate to Weiss described him to CBS News as “a straight shooter” with no allegiances to Trump or Biden. FBI Reportedly Sees ‘Growing Frustration’ That Hunter Biden Still Uncharged

There is “growing frustration” within the FBI about the amount of time prosecutors are spending weighing possible criminal charges against first son Hunter Biden for alleged tax evasion and lying about his drug use on a gun purchase form, according to a new report.

NBC News reported on investigators’ mounting exasperation days after an IRS whistleblower who supervised the tax probe since early 2020 contacted Congress through an attorney, alleging a cover-up in the case.

NBC, citing two sources, reported that the FBI — whose Baltimore field office has led the Hunter Biden investigation — “finished the bulk of their work on the case about a year ago.”

One source added that the IRS finished its investigation of the first son more than a year ago.

The US Attorney’s Office in Delaware reportedly has been reviewing four possible charges: two misdemeanor counts of failing to file taxes, a felony count of evading taxes relating to a business expense, and the gun form charge. White House Contradicts Whistleblower, Claims No One Is Protecting Hunter Biden

The White House now is claiming that no one is protecting Hunter Biden from charges stemming from a federal investigation into his taxes.

“Since he took office and consistent with his campaign promise that he would restore the independence of the Justice Department when it comes to decision-making in criminal investigations, President Biden has made clear that this matter would be handled independently by the Justice Department, under the leadership of a U.S. Attorney appointed by former President Trump, free from any political interference by the White House,” White House spokesman Ian Sams told Fox News Digital. “He has upheld that commitment.” . . .

A report from Fox News now says the White House is disregarding those allegations by the whistleblower, who charged “clear” conflicts of interest, “preferential treatment” for Hunter Biden, and the fact that politics are “improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject were not politically connected.”

Fox reported Hunter Biden has been under federal tax investigation since 2018, and that work apparently was prompted by the discovery of a multitude of “suspicious activity reports” that have been filed over the years questioning the Biden family’s deals with China, Russia and other nations. Chinese Bank Voluntarily Turns Over Hunter’s Bank Records in Sign That China Owns Joe Biden

China fired a warning shot at President Biden when a Chinese-American bank supplied Senate Republicans with records showing millions of dollars flowing from Chinese companies to Mr. Biden’s son Hunter Biden and brother James Biden, said a lawmaker spearheading an investigation of the first family.

Cathay Bank, which is based in Los Angeles but has offices in China, voluntarily turned over bank records requested by Sens. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Charles E. Grassley of Iowa. Every other American bank denied the two Republicans’ requests for financial records.

“In my mind, it’s the Chinese government telling Joe Biden, ‘We got the goods on you, buddy, and we’re willing to dish it up,’” Mr. Johnson told The Washington Times. . .

The records the bank handed over showed deep financial ties between the president’s son and brother and the now-defunct CEFC China Energy, which had ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The energy giant wired $1 million to Hudson West III, a joint venture owned by Hunter Biden and Gongwen Dong, a business associate of CEFC’s founder and chairman, Ye Jianming.

A second Chinese energy company, Northern International Capital Holdings, which is associated with the communist-backed CEFC, wired $5 million to Hudson West III, the Cathay Bank records show. The money sent from the two companies funded a $4.8 million wire transfer from Hudson West III to Hunter Biden’s companies Owasco P.C. and Owasco LLC, and Lion Hall Group, owned by the president’s brother James Biden. James Comer to Provide ‘Concerning’ Update on Biden Family Business Probe

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) announced Wednesday he will provide an official update in the coming weeks on the Biden family business investigation upon completion of reviewing the family’s suspicious activity reports (SARs) held at the Treasury Department.

Over the years, U.S. banks have flagged over 150 SARs from Hunter and James Biden that included “large” amounts of money flagged for further review. SARs “often contain evidence of potential criminal activities, such as money laundering and fraud,” according to a 2020 Senate report.

“Over the past 2 weeks, @GOPoversight has combed through Biden family bank records & suspicious activity reports filed against Hunter Biden. We also continue to gather info from whistleblowers,” Comer posted on Twitter. “It doesn’t look good for @POTUS. I will update the American people soon.” . . .

“We are probably going to have a press conference within the next two week to update the American people on what all we found,” Comer said. “It’s very concerning”:

James Comer ‘Concerned’ About Gov’t Doc Hunter Biden Sent Burisma Potentially From Joe Biden’s Classified Info

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said Monday he is “concerned” about a government document Hunter Biden sent Burisma officials that could have originated from the troves of classified information that President Joe Biden mishandled.

Speaking with Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo, Comer raised concerns that the family’s “influence peddling” could be connected to Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified information.

“We don’t the know the true extent of what he [Joe Biden] has done,” Comer said. “All we know is he had classified documents scattered all over the place dating back to the time as U.S. senator.”

“There is one document in particular that I can tell you from my investigation of Biden family influence peddling that we are very concerned about with respect to the document that Hunter Biden sent to officials at Burisma in Ukraine,” Comer said.

Report: Bidens, China May Have Had 11 Additional Deals

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer revealed Sunday that the Biden family may have made as many as 11 additional business deals with China on top of the $3 million wire transfer.

“We think there are as many as 11 more deals,” Comer said during an appearance on Fox News Sunday morning. “Now, we don’t know what those deals are with the Bidens.”

The Republican congressman said Thursday that State Energy HK Limited, a company affiliated with Chinese Communist Party-backed energy company CEFC China Energy, had wired $3 million to Biden family associate Rob Walker on March 1, 2017.

The cash was then dealt out in smaller amounts to at least three Bidens and two family associates.

Hunter Biden’s ‘Laptop From Hell’ Countersuit Could Drag Joe’s Reelection Bid

As President Biden weighs a re-election bid at age 80, his long-troubled son Hunter has all but guaranteed the commander-in-chief will be bringing plenty of baggage on the campaign trail.

Hunter Biden on Friday escalated his legal war with the former computer repair shop owner who came into possession of his now-infamous laptop, with a countersuit that claims his privacy was invaded — and which threatens to put all his sordid drug binging, sexcapades and shady foreign business deals right back into the spotlight.

In the countersuit, filed in US District Court in Delaware first thing Friday, the first son alleged John Paul Mac Isaac had no legal right to copy and disseminate the contents of the laptop that was abandoned at his Delaware store in 2019.

The 42-page filing, which was lodged in response to a long-running defamation suit filed by Mac Isaac against Hunter and others, also accuses the repair shop owner of helping to distribute the laptop’s contents for political gain just weeks before the 2020 election.
