Undocumented Cal State Students Fear Border Patrol’s Participation in Career Fair

Border_Patrol_ATV_IMG_5278Students at the California State University, San Marcos staged a demonstration Thursday protesting the inclusion of Border Patrol representatives at the school’s career fair.

Sociology professor Marisol Clark-Ibanez tweeted a photo Thursday evening showing students holding signs with messages such as “Stop tearing us apart” and “CSUSM: A Safe Space?” in front of the table advertising positions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), while a uniformed officer records them on a cell phone.

The next day, she sent an open letter to Career Center Director Pamela Wells explaining that, as faculty advisor to the Standing Together As oNe Dream (STAND) student group, she became alarmed upon arriving on campus Thursday morning to find a CBP vehicle and three police cars (all empty) parked near the student union.

“My heart froze because I immediately became concerned for our students’ safety and wellbeing,” she recalls. “When I parked in the parking garage, I texted Julio (STAND president) and let him know what I saw, ask where he was, and if he (and others) were okay.”

After determining that the law enforcement vehicles were on campus for the career fair taking place that day, Julio “gathered students to assemble an impromptu protest to let Border Patrol know their practices in our community were unjust and detrimental,” during which both sides took photos and videos in case the demonstration got out of hand. Report: Illegals Rushing to Get Into U.S. Before Trump Wall

GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s vow to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border seems to be spurring more illegal immigration in recent months, according to Reuters.

The news agency says there has been an increase in illegal immigration at the southern border as migrants seek to make it into the United States illegally before Trump gets into office and it is too late.

“They think they need to take advantage while they can,” Blanca Rivera, a manager of the Ciudad Juarez migrant shelter, told Reuters. Rivera noted that she has seen the recent increase in northward migration.

According to Reuters, between October and February Customs and Border Patrol apprehended 150,304 people attempting to illegally enter the U.S. via the southern border, about 24 percent more than the same timeframe last year. Additionally, the number of unaccompanied minors detained illegally entering the U.S. from October to January — 20,455 — is up by over 100 percent compared to those same months last year.

Interviews with migrants, people smugglers and officials show many migrants are trying to cross now instead of facing tighter policing and new policies to halt illegal immigration if Trump or another Republican wins the Nov. 8 election.

Flow of Illegal Alien Children Into U.S. Expected to Rise in 2016

By Adam Kredo. The flow of illegal immigrant children into the United States is expected to rise to record-breaking numbers in 2016 as deportations decrease, according to leading members of the Senate’s Judiciary Committee.

At least 20,455 unaccompanied minors have been caught during fiscal year 2016 along the U.S.-Mexico border as of last month, according to committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), who warned that if this trend continues, the number of illegal minors could eclipse a massive 2014 surge that strained the resources of the Department of Homeland Security and prompted investigations into the Obama administration’s handling of the issue.

While illegal border crossings surge, the number of children actually being deported from the United States is declining, senators said during a Tuesday hearing with senior Obama administration officials.

The hearing comes just a day after oversight officials disclosed that the Obama administration has lost track of scores of immigrant children, many of whom are being released from custody to individuals across the United States who have not gone through thorough background checks.

“If these trends continue, we can expect to see an even greater number of minors crossing the border this year than in 2014,” Grassley said. “No one is following up on these individuals when they skip their immigration hearings, unless they are receiving post-release services. They are also not enforcement priorities for this administration. This means a lot of these minors are nowhere to be found.” (Read more from “Flow of Illegal Alien Children Into U.S. Expected to Rise in 2016” HERE)

Sessions: Feds Let 97 Percent of Border Crisis Kids Stay in U.S.

By Joel Gehrke. Only about 3 or 4 percent of the unaccompanied minors who have entered the country in the last two-and-a-half years have been returned to their home countries, Sen. Jeff Sessions charged on Tuesday.

“It cannot be that every young person that appears from Central America is entitled to asylum or entry into the united states, contrary to our laws,” Sessions said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday. “It just cannot be. Does anybody in this government not understand that?”

Immigration officials testified that the border crisis could be mitigated if more people were sent home. “I don’t disagree with that,” Thomas Homan, a senior official at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told Sessions. “I think if you have a consequence of deterrence to illegal activity, the illegal activity will slow down.”

The Alabama Republican noted that 4,680 of the 127,000 minors who have arrived in the last two-and-a-half years have been returned. Senate Democrats argued that increasing the number of returns would be inhumane, although GOP lawmakers pointed to cases of unaccompanied children being released to criminals to argue that President Obama’s policies are creating another kind of humanitarian crisis. U.S. Failed 3 Times to Deport Illegal Alien Who Murdered Woman

The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General has reluctantly agreed to “investigate” how the agency could possibly fail to deport an illegal immigrant with a serious criminal record at least three times, allowing him to murder a young woman in Connecticut. Pressure from the state’s congressional delegation landed the probe on the busy watchdog’s lengthy list of “ongoing projects” so interested parties shouldn’t hold their breath for answers.

Before delving into the details of this gruesome case, it’s important to mention that Connecticut has long protected illegal immigrants with sanctuary policies and even offers them special drivers’ licenses, known as Drive Only. The state also gives illegal aliens discounted tuition at public colleges and universities and authorities work hard to restrict the feds from deporting illegal immigrants. In fact, despite President Obama’s amnesty and open-borders policies, Connecticut is always a step ahead when it comes to protecting illegal immigrants and granting them rights. Undoubtedly, this attracts a large population of undocumented aliens like the murderer in this case.

Nevertheless, DHS has a duty to remove dangerous foreigners who pose a threat regardless of local policies shielding the perpetrators. In this case the outrageous negligence on the part of federal immigration authorities permitted a Haitian national (Jean Jacques) to brutally stab a woman in her apartment, leaving her body inside a closet. The heinous crime occurred last summer and sketchy information of how the government repeatedly dropped the ball has slowly been uncovered by local media outlets that, not surprisingly, have encountered strong resistance in obtaining substantial details. This led Connecticut’s two U.S. Senators and a congressman—all Democrats—to hound the DHS IG into investigating the matter. The watchdog recently added the case to its long docket, perhaps to appease the incensed lawmakers, media and local citizens.

Here’s what we already know from local media reports in Norwich, the city of about 40,000 residents where the murder occurred; the DHS agency responsible for deporting illegal immigrants, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), failed to remove Jacques at least three times dating back to 2002. As if this weren’t atrocious enough, Jacques spent 17 years in prison for attempted murder before authorities released him—instead of deporting him—in January of 2015, the Norwich Bulletin reports. Six months later the 41-year-old illegal alien convict stabbed 25-year-old Casey Chadwick to death. Police said Chadwick died of sharp forced injuries to the head and neck. Jacques is being held on a $1 million bond. (Read more from “U.S. Failed 3 Times to Deport Illegal Alien Who Murdered Woman” HERE)

Something Disgusting Was Just Revealed on How a Illegal Arrested for Child-Sex Abuse Was Protected From Deportation

The illegal immigrant who was arrested this week in Arizona for a sex crime against a three-year old girl, was being shielded from repatriation by President Barack Obama’s 2012 ‘Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals’ program, according to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The little girl was found Monday, while duct-taped, inside a trash bag, and covered in feces in a closet in an apartment occupied by Francisco Rios-Covarrubias. He was charged with kidnapping, sexual conduct with a minor, felony child abuse, and sex trafficking. The child’s mother was also arrested.

Rios-Covarrubias was caught after he allegedly offered the girl for sex to another man, who subsequently notified the police . . .

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Sen. Jeff Flake say their committee has information that Rios-Covarrubias was protected from repatriation by Obama’s 2012 decision to largely halt deportations of younger illegals, and to give them work-permits.

“According to information received by the Committee, 30-yr-old Rios-Covarrubias was a recipient of deferred action under the President’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program,” Grassley and Flake wrote in a letter Friday to DHS Sec. Jeh Johnson. (Read more from “Something Disgusting Was Just Revealed on How a Illegal Arrested for Child-Sex Abuse Was Protected From Deportation” HERE)

Obama Continues His Destruction of the US Armed Forces, Eyes 6 Military Bases to House Surge of Illegal Aliens

The new surge of illegal immigrant youths has forced the federal government to look at an emergency plan to house them at six military bases at at least two federal worker centers, according to the administration.

The Pentagon is beginning “site assessments” at bases as far north as North Dakota and Massachusetts.

“The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) at HHS is expanding its capacity to provide shelter for the current influx of unaccompanied children at the U.S. Southern Border. This temporary increased shelter capacity is a prudent step needed to ensure ORR meets its statutory responsibility to provide shelter for the unaccompanied children referred to its care and to assist CBP in ensuring that the US Border Patrol continues its vital national security mission to prevent illegal migration and trafficking, and to protect the borders of the United States,” said a Pentagon memo to Rep. Martha Roby, Alabama Republican.

She led a previous fight to block the sheltering of the youths at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base near Montgomery, Ala . . .

The latest surge of minors reached 5,600 caught at the southern border in November, more than double the number apprehended last year, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Feds Lose Track of Most Border-Surge Teens After Release

New information from a variety of sources further demonstrates that the Obama administration’s handling of the continuing influx of illegal Central American family and youth border-crossers has been nothing short of a disaster. Government agencies and NGO contractors have lost track of most of the youth who have been released (or escaped) from shelters. Immigration court records show that about half of the “unaccompanied” alien children (UACs) do not appear for immigration court hearings. A recent murder of one UAC in Virginia by three others is a reminder that some of the kids are involved in gangs. And, because we let them, they keep coming; the number of new arrivals spiked again at the end of the summer, with twice as many Central American youth and families arriving in September 2015 as arrived in September 2014.

No single government agency has been given the responsibility for tracking the UAC and family arrivals. As a result, the statistics that have been published by different sources may have slightly different numbers, depending on the time period covered and how they are counted.

In a recent webinar hosted by the Migration Policy Institute, the director of a legal services organization stated that 77,824 UACs had been released into the United States since October 1, 2014 (not counting the approximately 40,000 who arrived in 2012 and 2013). Most are turned over to their parents, but many are released to the custody of a sponsor — sometimes a relative, but often a “friend”, foster family, or group home run by a government contractor.

In July, federal agents arrested a group of farm labor contractors running a smuggling ring for Guatemalan minors who were then put to work in harsh conditions at an Ohio egg farm. Those who come forward as sponsors are rarely screened, and so some UACs have been released to child molesters and abusers.

Others have run away from the temporary shelters or group homes. In October, four Honduran teenagers escaped from a shelter in Tucson, leading local officials to complain about the lack of transparency and oversight. Last year, two Guatemalan teenagers fled a shelter in Illinois and committed a carjacking in California that led to their re-capture. Mother of Officer Killed by Drunk-Driving Illegal Alien Reveals the Response She Received After ‘Pleading’ to Meet With White House

After her police officer son was killed by a drunk-driving illegal immigrant, Mary Anne Mendoza says she has been “pleading” for a meeting with the White House to discuss the politically charged issue of illegal alien criminals.

She said Sunday the White Has responded to her requests with silence.

Mesa, Arizona, police officer Brandon Mendoza was killed in a 2014 head-on collision with a man who was found to be driving intoxicated with a BAC of 0.238 percent and living in the country illegally for decades . . .

Mary Anne Mendoza has since written three letters to President Barack Obama, but has not received any response. She said it’s “disheartening” to see some of the people who actually receive White House invites. Federal Court: Illegal Alien and Convicted Felon ‘Can’t Be Deported’ Because He’s Transgender

RTXZNHR-e1441314265757A federal appeals court has ruled that an illegal immigrant and convicted felon can’t be deported back to Mexico because he identifies as a transgender woman, which leaves him vulnerable to torture back in his home country.

Edin Carey Avendano-Hernandez was born male in Mexico, and claims to have been raped by his brothers and suffered other torments. In 2000, he illegally entered the U.S. and took up residence in Fresno, California. Avendano-Hernandez also started taking female hormones and began living openly as a woman in 2005. In 2006, he committed two separate drunk driving offenses, the second of which injured two people and resulted in a felony conviction. After serving a year in jail, he was deported back to Mexico in 2007.

Back in Mexico, Avendano-Hernandez claims to have been subjected to more harassment from family and neighbors and to have been raped by members of the Mexican army. He illegally entered the U.S. again and, after being arrested, petitioned for sanctuary in the U.S. under the U.N. Convention Against Torture (CAT), arguing that deporting him would violate the CAT because he would more likely than not experience torture at the hands of Mexican authorities.

An immigration judge and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) both rejected Avendano-Hernandez’s arguments on the grounds that he had committed a serious crime (felony drunk driving) and was not likely to face official torture.

Now, a three-judge panel on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals says Avendano-Hernandez must be allowed to stay in the U.S., because he “more likely than not” will be tortured if returned to Mexico. Illegal Alien Drug Dealer Who Broke Toddler’s Arms and Legs FREED

CentralMigrantsMexicoBy Daniel Greenfield. Wait. Let’s politically correctize that. “Undocumented immigrant undocumented pharmacist set free in measure to protect civil rights.” This is life under the sanctuary state in a sanctuary nation.

A California toddler is fighting for her life Thursday after a brutal beating at the hands of an illegal immigrant with a long criminal record is the latest case to rile California sheriffs and police against a U.S. immigration policy they say is forcing them to release dangerous criminals out on the street.

Francisco Javier Chavez, the live-in boyfriend of the unidentified two-year-old’s mother, is out on bail after being charged in the late July attack, which left the San Luis Obispo County girl with two broken arms, a broken femur, a compressed spine, a urinary tract infection and a fever of 107 degrees. Chavez’s criminal record includes assault and drug convictions and arrests for violent acts including kidnapping, car jacking and cruelty to a child.

A disgusted San Luis Obispo Sheriff Ian Parkinson told FoxNews.com Chavez should have been locked away or deported long before he had the chance to inflict “horrific injuries” on the little girl, but said conflicting federal policies leave his department handcuffed. Instead, Chavez is now free, awaiting a court date for which he may not even show up.

Maybe Macy’s can give him a job. Chavez should have been deported long ago. But Obama lies when he claims that his illegal alien amnesty keeps families together while deporting criminals. (Read more from “Illegal Alien Drug Dealer Who Broke Toddler’s Arms and Legs FREED” HERE)

American Kids Pay Heavy Price for Obama’s Border Failure

By Michael Cutler. In the “Wild West” America’s pioneers who were heading west would employ a simple but effective strategy when they came under attack. They circled their wagons to form what was hopefully an impenetrable perimeter.

Further back in history, castles were protected by high walls and often moats were created to offer a buffer beyond the walls, requiring draw bridges to enable those who wanted to traverse the moat to either enter or leave the castle compound.

It is more than ironic, as we about to see, that Obama himself drew that very same analogy about border security concerning a moat. For good measure, he even threw in alligators to fill that moat.

Of course he used that language derisively to insult and ridicule anyone who dared suggest our borders are not secure, but that those borders must be made secure.

Considering the threats that America and Americans face by international terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations, if ever their was a time that our borders should be secured, this is the time. Of course the Obama administration has very different plans. Virtually from its first days, the Obama administration has lied about the failures of the immigration system to secure our borders and carry out its missions that are intrinsic to national security and public safety.
