Killed in Her Sleep: Illegal Aliens Suspected in Grandma’s Death Faced Deportation

A Massachusetts woman killed as she slept in her bed by a bullet fired through her ceiling would be alive today, if the men accused of shooting her had been deported, according to anti-illegal immigration activists.

Mirta Rivera, 41, a nurse and grandmother from Lawrence, was shot July 4 from an upstairs apartment where two illegal immigrants lived despite being under federal deportation orders, according to the Boston Herald. Dominican Republic nationals Wilton Lara-Calmona and Jose M. Lara-Mejia both had long histories of sneaking into the U.S.

The case, as well as a pending murder case in neighboring Connecticut involving an illegal immigrant accused in the stabbing death of a woman, comes after the July 1 murder of Kathryn Steinle in San Francisco helped propel illegal immigrant crime into a hot-button national issue.

“This has been happening all over the country for several years,” said Dan Cadman, a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and a retired federal immigration official. “I hope the American public is stirred up and angry about it.

“But I hope they realize there are so many more victims,” he added. “There are families all over the country that are grieving because they lost their mother, father, brother, sister, child or spouse needlessly.” (Read more from “Killed in Her Sleep: Illegal Aliens Suspected in Grandma’s Death Faced Deportation” HERE)

Scott Walker’s Impressive Response to ‘Gotcha’ Confrontation From Immigrant Kids Is Incredible

At a campaign stop in Plainfield, Iowa Sunday, [Scott Walker] was stopped and questioned by Jose Flores, 38, who is living in the United States illegally along with four children, who are American citizens . . .

Flores asked the Wisconsin governor why he opposed President Obama’s immigration executive actions that would keep his family intact.

“We are a nation of laws,” Walker told him several times, emphasizing that the president had ample opportunity to pass immigration legislation during his first two years in office when Democrats controlled both chambers of Congress — yet he didn’t.

He also pointed out that the president’s executive actions on immigration — which Obama himself claimed he didn’t have the authority to do — have been halted in the federal court system.

“My point is that you have to follow the law, follow the process,” he told Flores. “No man or woman is above the law in this country — that’s the beauty of America.” (Read more from “Scott Walker’s Impressive Response to ‘Gotcha’ Confrontation From Immigrant Kids Is Incredible” HERE)

Arizona Defends Denying Driver’s Licenses to ‘Dreamers,’ Judge Suggests it’s “Racism”

Arizona’s legal team came to Pasadena on Thursday to defend the state’s refusal to issue driver’s licenses to so-called Dreamers, and found that one member of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals was in no mood for legal maneuvering.

Under court order, Arizona began issuing licenses and ID cards in February for the estimated 22,000 immigrants covered by the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, known as DACA. President Obama’s program gives Dreamers, the young immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally before their 16th birthday and who meet other requirements, a reprieve from deportation and the ability to receive work permits. . .

Pregerson asked why Arizona continued to try to deny benefits to Dreamers. “Does it come down to racism? Does it come down to discrimination against these people? What else does it come down to?” he asked.

[Since Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty in 2012,] states have steadily dropped their objections to giving licenses to Dreamers. The penultimate holdout, Nebraska, ended its objections in May. Only Arizona continues to fight.

“The state wants to enjoy a prerogative it simply does not have,” Dreamer Coalition attorney Karen Tumlin told the three judges. “This case is about discrimination, pure and simple.” (Read more from “Arizona Defends Denying Driver’s Licenses to ‘Dreamers,’ Faces Skeptical Judge” HERE)

Is Trump Right? Guess Which Rapists Don’t Appear on National Sex Offender Registry

The national database of sex offenders is missing one crucial sub-element of society — illegal immigrants.

CNN’s John Walsh fought for years to get a national database of sex offenders — like the one who kidnapped and murdered his son, Adam Walsh.

The result was the National Sex Offender Public Registry.

There’s only one problem. The registry only lists the names of offenders who are U.S. citizens — it doesn’t include people who are living here illegally . . .

“How can a country, that can put a Mars Rover on Mars to send back pictures of ice crystals at a cost of $44 billion not be able to track convicted offenders, especially sex offenders — especially illegal alien sex offenders,” Walsh asked CNN host Erin Burnett. Two Previously Deported Illegal Aliens Allegedly Murdered Two Women in Two States.. In 24 Hours

A 24-hour period last Wednesday and Thursday saw two cases of male illegal immigrants allegedly murdering women in two separate U.S. states: California and Texas. In both instances, the women’s murder could have been prevented by authorities had they enforced existing U.S. immigration laws and/or had the U.S.-Mexico border been functionally secured. The California murder involved an illegal immigrant who had been previously deported five times with seven felonies and the Texas murder involved an illegal immigrant who had been deported on four previous occasions. In the Texas case, local Laredo police had been called to the man’s house on at least three occasions over domestic disputes, yet they failed to contact Border Patrol about the man, according to federal agents.

The California murder was covered by Breitbart California’s Michelle Moons. She wrote:

Five-time deportee and seven-time convicted felon Francisco Sanchez has been jailed on suspicion of shooting and killing 31-year-old Kathryn Steinle Wednesday evening while taking photos with her father at Pier 14 in San Francisco, California. Sanchez was freed after the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department refused to honor a request by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain him, following a policy adopted in 2014. He was arrested soon after the shooting.

The immigration status and history in the Texas case was broken by this reporter when sources within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency revealed that the murderer had been previously deported. The alleged confessed murderer is named Juan Francisco De Luna Vasquez and he allegedly beat his wife to death with a hammer. I wrote:

Breitbart Texas has exclusively confirmed that a man who confessed to murdering his wife with a hammer in Laredo, Texas is a four-time deported illegal immigrant who would not have been in the U.S. had he not been able to illegally cross back into the country multiple times from Mexico after his deportations. In addition, the Laredo Police Department continuously encountered the man in violent episodes with his wife, yet did not notify Border Patrol, according to federal agents who spoke with Breitbart Texas on the condition of anonymity.

CDC Official Calls Obama Worst President, Amateur, Marxist After Influx of Illegal Alien Minors

By The Judicial Watch Blog. Following the influx of illegal immigrant minors from Central America, an official at the federal agency charged with protecting public health describes Barack Obama as “the worst pres we have ever had,” an “amateur” and “Marxist,” according to internal emails obtained by Judicial Watch.

JW got the records as part of an investigation into the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) activation of an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to deal with the barrage of illegal alien minors last summer. Tens of thousands of Central Americans came into the United States through the Mexican border and contagious diseases—many considered to be eradicated in the U.S.—became a tremendous concern. The CDC, which operates under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), responded by opening an emergency facility designed to monitor and coordinate response activities to eminent public health threats.

This special emergency division was created after the 2001 terrorist attacks and has responded to more than 50 public health threats, including hurricanes, food borne disease outbreaks, the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic and the Haiti cholera outbreak. Scientists from across the CDC are brought together to analyze, validate, and efficiently exchange information during a public health emergency and connect with response partners. The EOC also coordinates the deployment of CDC staff and the procurement and management of all equipment and supplies that agency responders may need during their deployment. 128 Unaccompanied Alien Children Caught at Mexican Border Per Day in May

By Brittany M. Hughes. Data obtained by CNSNews.com from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CPB) shows about 128 unaccompanied alien children (UACs) were apprehended at the Southwest U.S. border every day during the month of May. In total, 3,965 children were caught crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally during that month alone.

According to the data, May was the month with the most UAC apprehensions since the start of Fiscal Year 2015 on Oct. 1.

The monthly totals of apprehended UACs have been steadily increasing since January, when 2,119 children were caught at the U.S.-Mexico border. Since then, another 2,388 children were apprehended in February, 3,131 were apprehended in March, and 3,275 were apprehended in April.

During the same time, the Obama administration has continued to tout its newly launched Central American Minors Refugee/Parole Program (CAM).

Marketed as an effort to help Latin American children avoid the dangerous and sometimes fatal journey to enter the United States illegally, the program was set up throughout Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador to reunite children living in those countries with their parents who live, many of them illegally, in the United States.

Children who do not qualify as “refugees” under the legal federal definition may be granted discretionary parole into the United States on a case-by-case basis. (Read more from this story HERE)

Out-of-Control Supreme Court Kills Efforts to Require Illegals to Show ID When Registering to Vote [+video]

The case, Kobach, et al. v. Election Assistance Commission, et al., was about whether Arizona and Kansas could require voters to prove their citizenship when registering to vote with the so-called federal form. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach led the suit against the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, which was an appeal of a lower court decision.

Both Kansas and Arizona have state laws that require applicants to prove their citizenship when applying to vote with state forms (for state or federal elections). But the U.S. EAC denied the states’ requests to have their citizenship laws applied when would-be voters use the standardized federal form.

The Supreme Court had already ruled in 2013 that state proof-of-citizenship laws couldn’t be applied when people try to register with the federal form. The states’ direct request to the EAC was a last-ditch effort to get around that.

By not hearing the case, the Supreme Court effectively upheld the decision of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled against Arizona and Kansas in November 2014, saying the EAC did not have to modify its form to meet state laws. Under the federal form, would-be voters need only swear under penalty of perjury that they are citizens.

“This is a very big deal,” University of California Irvine Law Professor Rick Hasen wrote on his election law blog Monday. “Kobach had the potential to shift more power away from the federal government in administering elections toward the states,” he added. Internal Docs Reveal Obama Fraud: Feds Predicted Surge of Illegals Even Though Obama Feigned Surprise, Demanded Billions to Address

By Paul Bedard. Despite claims the administration was caught off guard, the White House and four Cabinet departments predicted last year’s surge of at least 60,000 illegal juveniles over the U.S.-Mexico border and expect it to more than double to 127,000 this year, according to an internal document.

A 24-page administration PowerPoint for congressional appropriators dated April 22, 2014 bluntly stated that border arrivals of “unaccompanied alien children” would rise “by nearly a factor of 10” in 2014 to 60,000 and jump to 127,000 “if these growth rates continue.” It is shown below.

Indications are that this year’s surge won’t meet that record number, but will be the second highest in recent history.

The document and accompanying graphs, provided by congressional sources, also set a price tag of $2 billion “to accommodate” the juveniles, some members of the MS-13 crime gang, this year.

The briefing counters claims by top federal officials that they didn’t see the surge coming last year. President Obama called it an “urgent humanitarian situation” in seeking nearly $4 billion, and a top aide said it “was much larger than we anticipated.” (Read more from “Revealed: Feds Predicted Surge of Illegals, See This Many More in 2015” HERE)

Undocumented Sex Offenders Left in Seattle-Area Neighborhoods Without Tracking

By KIRO 7 Staff. After digging through hundreds of ZIP codes, KIRO 7 found 11 convicted sex offenders in the country illegally living across western Washington neighborhoods.

The government has tried to deport most of these people, but a Supreme Court ruling requires they be released after six months in jail, if their home country won’t take them back.

KIRO 7 obtained sources through the Senate Judiciary Committee: a list of every ZIP code in the country that some offender called home at the time of release. (Read more from this story HERE)

Unearthed Audio: Hillary Made This Unbelievable Statement About Her Stance on Illegal Aliens

download (11)Though you wouldn’t know it from her remarks earlier this week, Hillary Clinton was once “adamantly” against illegal immigration and was for erecting a border fence similar to one that protects Israel.

“I am adamantly against illegal immigrants,” then-Sen. Clinton said on the John Grambling radio show in Feb. 2003 . . .

“Come up to Westchester, go to Suffolk and Nassau counties,” Clinton continued. “Stand in the street corners in Brooklyn or the Bronx. You’re going to see loads of people waiting to get picked up to get yard work, and construction work, and domestic work.”

Those remarks are remnants of a distant political past for Clinton, who unveiled her new stance on immigration at a roundtable discussion at a Las Vegas high school on Tuesday. Clinton called for a path to citizenship for all and said that she would act unilaterally to extend amnesty to many more undocumented immigrants in the country . . .

In 2006, she told the New York Daily News that while she favored a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, she also wanted to build a fence in some areas along the southern border. Illegal Immigrant Children Begin Surging Across Border Again, Highest Numbers Since Last Summer’s Peak [+video]

childrenThe second wave of unaccompanied illegal immigrant children has begun, with more than 3,000 of them surging across the Mexican border into the U.S. last month — the highest rate since the peak of last summer’s crisis and a warning that another rough season could be ahead.

Immigration officials warned that they expected another surge as the weather improved. Although the numbers are down some 40 percent compared with last year’s frenetic pace that sparked a political crisis for the Obama administration, fiscal year 2015 is shaping up to mark the second-biggest surge on record.

Authorities report having captured 15,647 children traveling without parents who tried to jump the border in the first six months of the fiscal year. Through this point in 2014, they had apprehended 28,579.

Just as worrisome is the rate of whole families — usually mothers with young children — who are crossing. So far this fiscal year, authorities have captured 13,911 “family units,” down 30 percent from last year.

“These statistics show that the surge of illegal arrivals from Central America was never really over,” said Jessica Vaughan, policy studies director at the Center for Immigration Studies.
