Big Win for Trump as Appeals Court Blocks Liberal Judges from Releasing Migrants

President Donald Trump’s lawyers scored big on Friday when a Texas-based appeals court allowed officials to hold arrested migrants in detention so their migration cases can be quickly decided.

“ENORMOUS Immigration win for President Trump,” said Eric Wessen, the Solicitor General in Iowa’s Attorney General’s Office. He added:

The Fifth Circuit, the first federal court to address President Trump’s expedited removal efforts, sides with the administration. Illegal aliens may be detained and removed!

The 2:1 decision “is a big deal,” said Ilya Shapiro, a lawyer at the Manhattan Institute.

“After reviewing carefully the relevant provisions and structure of the Immigration and Naturalization Act, the statutory history, and Congressional intent, we conclude that the government’s position is correct,” the three-judge court decided. Poll: Likely 2026 Midterm Voters Support Deporting Illegal Aliens By 2:1 Margin

Nearly two-thirds of likely 2026 midterm election voters support deporting illegal aliens from the United States, a new poll released Monday shows.

In its latest survey of 1,004 likely 2026 voters, the political polling firm Cygnal found that respondents support removing illegal aliens from America and sending them back to their country of origin by a nearly 2:1 margin (61 to 34 percent). The poll also found strong support for ICE enforcement of federal immigration laws and agreement that illegally entering the United States is a violation of such laws.

“Voters see illegal immigration as a simple question of law and order,” Cygnal Founder and CEO Brent Buchanan said in a statement. “The data leaves no wiggle room. Americans want the law enforced, they want illegal immigrants removed, and they punish politicians who try to block ICE from doing its job.”

The survey was conducted from Jan. 27 to Jan. 28 and has a margin of error of 3.09 percent.

According to the Cygnal data, 73 percent of respondents agreed when asked if “individuals who have entered the United States without legal permission have broken the law,” compared with 22 percent who disagreed. The survey furthermore found that a majority (54 percent) support ICE “enforcing federal immigration laws to remove illegal immigrants from the U.S.” and oppose (58 percent) efforts to defund the agency — including majorities of swing voters. Alex Pretti Appears to Spit at ICE, Kick Out Tail Light in Previous Minneapolis Confrontation Before He Was Shot by Border Patrol

Harrowing new footage shows Alex Pretti armed, spitting at federal immigration officers and smashing the taillights of their black SUV during a chaotic clash more than a week before he was fatally shot by Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis.

The video, which the BBC said it has verified, captured the ICU nurse yelling at agents while they were driving away during a heated Jan. 13 protest before booting the back of the car, prompting them to jump out and tackle him to the ground, according to footage from The News Movement.

The man — who was wearing similar clothing in the video to what Pretti had on when he was fatally shot last Saturday — was taken to the ground by at least five agents, who deployed tear gas into the whistle-blowing crowd during the wild confrontation.

The horde of agents continued to hold him down until he retreated and joined the raucous crowd in shouting at the agents — with a gun visibly tucked into the back of his pants.

Homeland Security Investigations is “reviewing” the newest footage of the 37-year-old’s apparent prior brush with federal agents, the Department of Homeland Security told The Post. Mayor Says He’s Coordinating With Other Cities’ Leaders To Thwart ICE

Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson admitted Wednesday he was “in regular communication” with other mayors leading so-called “sanctuary cities” in efforts to impede enforcement of federal immigration laws.

President Donald Trump called for an end to “sanctuary cities” in a post on Truth Social Monday, following a series of shootings, two of them fatal, that took place in Minneapolis involving Department of Homeland Security personnel engaged in immigration enforcement operations. Johnson said during a press conference at the National Press Club he’d been talking with Democratic Mayors Jacob Frey of Minneapolis and Michelle Wu of Boston about how to combat United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“To respond to the operation in Chicago, I leaned heavily on other cities’ responses, like Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass shared her experience governing while the city was in Trump’s crosshairs,” Johnson said. “We’ve been in regular communication both at the executive level and the staff level with cities like Minneapolis and Portland, Oakland, Boston, and Denver and Baltimore to learn from each other’s experiences and develop strategies to protect our constituents.”

The fatal shootings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti took place during confrontations connected to “rapid-response” networks seeking to thwart ICE operations. Such groups monitor ICE vehicles, share the locations of ICE officers and summon mobs to confront agents as they try to arrest illegal aliens with criminal records, sometimes resulting in physical altercations, Fox News Digital reported.

The shooting of Pretti, who had a concealed carry permit, is under investigation, with two Border Patrol agents involved in the shooting being placed on administrative leave. Video shot by bystanders appeared to contradict initial statements made by Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem regarding the incident, including apparently showing one Border Patrol agent in possession of Pretti’s gun before the shots were fired. Gavin Newsom Ignored Calls to Help Girl, 5, Left With Half a Skull in Crash Caused by Illegal Alien, Dad Says

The heartbroken father of a 5-year-old girl who suffered life-altering injuries in a multi-vehicle pileup caused by an illegal-immigrant truck driver says Gov. Gavin Newsom has stonewalled the family’s desperate calls for help.

Dalilah Coleman, now 7, was left nonverbal and is relearning how to walk after her family vehicle was srtuck in a 2024 wreck by an 18-wheeler driven by Partap Singh, an illegal immigrant from India.

Singh, who had been given a commercial driver’s license by the state despite his immigration status, was speeding through a construction zone and failed to stop his truck for traffic, leading to the horrifying crash, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

“When Dalilah’s accident first happened, I reached out to the governor’s office, via phone as well as email. I received nothing back at all,” Marcus Coleman said on Fox News’ “The Will Cain Show.”

Singh entered the country illegally through the southern border in October 2022 but was released by the Biden administration. He was rearrested by ICE in August 2025 to face deportation proceedings. Illegal Venezuelan Migrant Shot in Minneapolis After Mercilessly Ambushing Fed Agent With Snow Shovel: DHS

An illegal Venezuelan migrant was shot in the leg by a federal immigration agent in Minneapolis after he allegedly fled during a traffic stop and beat the “ambushed” officer with a snow shovel Wednesday evening, the Department of Homeland Security said.

The suspect was behind the wheel when he tried to get away from federal immigration officers at around 6:50 p.m. local time, but he crashed into a parked car, according to DHS.

The migrant then tried to escape on foot and “violently assault[ed] the officer” as the two wrestled on the ground, according to an X post from the agency.

While the man continued to struggle with the officer, two other people emerged from a nearby apartment and allegedly mercilessly attacked the agent with a snow shovel and broom handle, the department said.

In the chaos, the Venezuelan migrant was able to wriggle out of the officer’s hold and also allegedly started striking him “with a shovel or broom stick,” according to the post.

The officer, “fearing for his life,” shot the Venezuelan man in the leg, DHS said. (Read more from “Illegal Venezuelan Migrant Shot in Minneapolis After Mercilessly Ambushing Fed Agent With Snow Shovel: DHS” HERE)

DHS Offers Illegal Immigrants a $3,000 ‘Holiday Stipend’ for Self-Deportation

The federal government is offering a $3,000 “Holiday Stipend” to encourage illegal immigrants to self-deport over Christmas.

The small expense is far less than the cost of chasing and deporting migrants — and it comes amid growing economic pressure on migrants who are losing jobs and housing amid President Donald Trump’s enforcement of the nation’s popular migration laws.

“During the Christmas Season, the U.S. taxpayer is so generously TRIPLING the incentive to leave voluntarily for those in this country illegally — offering a $3,000 exit bonus, but just until the end of the year,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. “Illegal aliens should take advantage of this gift and self-deport because if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return.”

“Since January 2025, 1.9 million illegal aliens have voluntarily self-deported, and tens of thousands have used the CBP Home program,” the agency claimed.

The statement added:

Self-deportation through the CBP Home app is the best gift that an illegal alien can give themselves and their families this holiday season. It’s a fast, free, and easy process: Just download the app, fill out your information, and DHS will take care of the rest — including arranging and paying for your travel back home.

Those illegal aliens who don’t take advantage of this special offer today have only one alternative: They will be arrested, deported, and they will never be able to return to the United States.

ICE Locks Up Pedophiles, Other Violent Illegal Aliens as DHS Launches ‘Worst of the Worst’ Searchable Site

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is locking up more pedophiles and violent criminals as the Department of Homeland Security launches a new “worst of the worst” searchable website.

A press release obtained exclusively by Blaze News highlighted the Monday arrests of five criminal illegal aliens.

“Americans may be busy with Christmas parties and shopping, but the mission to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens never stops — and neither does ICE law enforcement,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated.

“Every day, our law enforcement are removing the worst of the worst from across our nation,” McLaughlin continued. “Just yesterday, ICE arrested pedophiles, armed robbers, and drug traffickers. Thanks to our new website, Americans can see for themselves the criminal illegal aliens that we are arresting and removing from their communities.”

ICE nabbed Juan Aucenjio-Natalio, a Mexican national who was previously convicted in Fort Bend County, Texas, for indecency with a child by exposure. (Read more from “ICE Locks Up Pedophiles, Other Violent Illegal Aliens as DHS Launches ‘Worst of the Worst’ Searchable Site” HERE)

‘Maryland Man’ Democrats Rushed To Defend Called Human Smugglers At Least 500 Times, Docs Allege

Kilmar Abrego Garcia allegedly called a convicted migrant smuggler and another co-conspirator hundreds of times in a single year while running a human smuggling operation.

Federal prosecutors allege Abrego Garcia, an illegal migrant who has become one of the biggest names in the Trump administration’s national deportation agenda, used multiple phones to communicate with co-conspirators while smuggling foreign nationals across the U.S., according to court documents. The Salvadoran national purportedly called Jose Hernandez-Reyes, an illegal migrant previously convicted of alien smuggling, and another co-conspirator more than 500 times in 2022 alone.

Abrego Garcia became the face of the Trump administration’s hardline immigration enforcement agenda when he was deported to his home country of El Salvador earlier this year, despite a prior withholding of removal order that prohibited his repatriation. He was eventually flown back to the U.S. to face human smuggling charges in Tennessee, with Attorney General Pam Bondi accusing him of making over 100 trips smuggling illegal migrants.

A spokesperson for his attorneys did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The details were submitted in court as the Trump administration says it’s accumulated mounting evidence that Abrego Garcia participated in a years-long conspiracy to smuggle illegal migrants across the southern border while he lived unlawfully in the U.S. (Read more from “‘Maryland Man’ Democrats Rushed To Defend Called Human Smugglers At Least 500 Times, Docs Allege” HERE)

City Elects Mayor Who Admitted, ‘I Am Illegal in This Country’

The mayor-elect of St. Paul, Minnesota, State Rep. Kaohly Vang Her (D) admitted earlier this year that she and her family are living illegally in the United States.

Vang Her, who will become St. Paul’s first female and first Asian mayor, beat out incumbent Melvin Carter, who is also a member of the state’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, which is the name of Minnesota’s Democrat party.

In June, as Breitbart News reported, Vang Her stood on the Minnesota House floor and told a story of how she says her family — originally from Laos — immigrated to the U.S.

Vang Her said she had recently discovered that her parents, siblings, and she are illegal aliens because her father defrauded the nation’s immigration system.

“I would like for you to put a face to the name, a face to what it is that we are doing today … I asked my father about how we came to the United States, and I always thought we came here because my grandfather was a colonel in the Secret War,” Vang said:

I had thought that meant that we had, we were in line to come to the U.S., and my mother told me — my father told me that was not true. Even though my parents both worked for a Christian organization, and my father actually worked at the U.S. Consulate because he was one of the few people who could speak English and he could type really fast and apparently that was a very valued skill then. So they had my father move away from the refugee camp from my mom and my sisters and I, and he went to live at the consulate where he processed all of the paperwork for the refugees that came to America. And we had missed our time to come to the U.S. three times and if we didn’t come that last time, we would not have been able to come to the U.S.
