Poll: Americans Want Biden to Get Tough on Illegal Immigration

More than half of American adults want President Joe Biden to have a tougher policy regarding illegal immigration at the United States-Mexico border, a new poll concludes.

The CBS News/YouGov poll reveals that 52 percent of Americans say Biden “should be tougher” on border crossers and illegal aliens at the southern border while just 2-in-10 say he “should be easier.” About 27 percent say Biden is “handling things right” at the border.

Of the more than half of Americans who want Biden to be tougher on illegal immigration, 86 percent are Republicans and 52 percent are swing voters. Likewise, nearly 3-in-10 Democrat voters want Biden to crack down on illegal immigration.

Americans hold Biden’s handling of immigration issues in extremely low regard, the poll finds. About 62 percent of Americans disapprove of his policies on immigration thus far.

When asked what U.S. policy should be when border crossers and illegal aliens cross the border, about 4-in-10 Americans — including 66 percent of Republicans and 41 percent of swing voters — said they want to see immediate deportations. Texas Military Begins Mass Migration Response Drills to Fight Biden’s Border Crisis

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Military Department to begin mass migration response rehearsals along the state’s border with Mexico. The order comes in response to the Biden Administration’s plans to cancel the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol, which is expected to drive the already record-setting number of 8,000 migrants to more than 18,000 a day, per a federal estimate.

“The National Guard will begin its first phase of mass migration rehearsals tomorrow [Thursday], to begin the preparation for what we are anticipating to be a potential mass influx of people coming across the border,” Governor Abbott said during a Wednesday afternoon press conference in Weslaco, Texas. “All troopers, and specially trained National Guard, will be equipped with riot gear in case of caravan violence like what we have seen occur in Mexico.”

The governor said federal officials estimate the ending of the Title 42 protocol could lead to more than 500,000 migrants per month attempting to cross the border from Mexico. Historically, about 60 to 70 percent of migrant crossings occur in the five Texas-based Border Patrol sectors. This would mean Texas needs to prepare for more than 300,000 per month — roughly equal to the population of Corpus Christi.

In a DHS contingency plan reviewed by Breitbart Texas, under a section titled, Critical Assumptions, officials noted “ICE ATD [Alternative to Detention] will be implemented on a greater scale.” The footnote for this paragraph adds:

Increased processing speeds, throughput, and the use of ATD is the quickest solution for processing FMUA [Family Unit Aliens] where T42 is no longer viable. However, relatively low percentages of FMUA reported for removal proceedings in the past once released on ATD. There is no evidence that a higher percentage of noncitizens will report for removal proceedings in the future if released, regardless of how expeditiously they are processed.

White House Defends Giving Illegal Crossers Smart Phones to Report to ICE

The White House on Wednesday defended the idea of giving smartphones to illegal border crossers, to help them stay in touch with ICE officials.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki appeared indignant after Fox News reporter Peter Doocy questioned her about the program, detailed recently in their reporting.

“I think you, of all people, since you’ve asked me a range of questions on this topic over time, would recognize that we need to take steps to ensure that we know where individuals are and we can track, and we can check in with then,” she replied.

Psaki said the phones provided to migrants and border crossers were part of the administration’s “alternative to detention” program at the border.

Illegal Alien Charged With Killing Elderly Man, Injuring Three Others in Florida

An illegal alien has been charged with killing a 72-year-old man and injuring three others in a drunk driving crash in Walton County, Florida, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.

Jose Virgilio Carcamo Elvir, a 42-year-old illegal alien, was charged with one count of DUI manslaughter, three counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury, driving with an expired license, and driving with open alcohol containers. . .

According to a report issued by Florida Highway Patrol, exclusively obtained by Breitbart News, Elvir was driving drunk in Walton County on April 3 when he crashed into the back of another vehicle and caused an eight-vehicle crash as a result.

Perry Adrian Cole, a 72-year-old resident of Palmetto Bay, Florida, was involved in the crash and rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Santa Rosa, Florida, where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

“Just weeks after a Haitian criminal alien brutally murdered a Florida husband and wife in Daytona Beach, another innocent Floridian lost his life at the hands of an illegal alien in Walton County,” Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) office wrote in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News.

Obama Admin DHS Secretary: Biden Border Crisis Is ‘Unsustainable’ (VIDEO)

Jeh Johnson, who served as Homeland Security secretary under former President Barack Obama, told MSNBC on Wednesday the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, kicked started by the Biden administration, is “unsustainable” because of the large number of illegal border crossings.

The Department of Homeland Security said on Tuesday they are preparing to encounter up to 18,000 illegal immigrants a day during the busy spring and summer seasons, especially once Title 42 is removed. Title 42 has been used since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to prevent the virus from being spread while in Border Patrol holding facilities but it may end soon as COVID restrictions have eased.

“The border is a tough issue. I am waiting to see when and if they drop Title 42 for the southern border. It is the, frankly, a way to keep the numbers down, although these numbers are pretty high,” said Johnson.

“Typically, the largest months are March and April…We are about to hit one million in six months. My highest year was 68,000 the entire year, and that politically felt like the world was coming to an end. These are very, very large numbers. Biden Admin Hiding ‘Ghost Flights’ Scattering Illegal Aliens Around the Country

After months of delay, the Department of Homeland Security replied late last month to a congressional demand for information about the number of illegal migrants the department has flown from border towns to communities around the country. In 2021, it said, 71,617 were dropped off in nearly 20 cities including locales as far from the Mexican border as Atlanta, Chicago, New York and Philadelphia.

Immigration experts critical of the Biden administration’s permissive immigration policies believe those numbers are incomplete, especially regarding the most vulnerable migrants, those under 18, whom DHS classifies as “unaccompanied children.” The agency says some 40,000 of the total transported are such minors, but that number is only a fraction of the 147,000 “encounters” the agency reports having with unaccompanied migrant children at the southern border between January and October 2021.

Paramount among the questions raised by the transports is what happens to the unaccompanied children once they leave the airport? The major cities DHS lists, the experts say, are probably simply way stations rather than final destinations.

“Everyone wants to know where they’re going, but nobody knows,” said Todd Bensman, a national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington-based think tank. “Well, somebody knows,” he adds. “The government knows. Biden’s Border Plan: Fix Foreign Countries *First*

President Joe Biden met with American governors at the White House on Monday, but only spoke briefly about migration and the crisis on the southern border.

The president acknowledged that border security was an issue, claiming he was “working a lot with neighboring countries” on the migrant crisis.

But he stressed the most important thing he wanted to do is fix the foreign countries from which migrants were coming.

“There’s a lot to do.” he said. “There’s a lot. I think one of the fundamental things we gotta do in addition to some of the changes we’ll make — we won’t get into them today — is that if we figure out why they’re leaving in the first place.”

Viral Video Shows Illegal Aliens Released at the Border

A new viral video shows illegal immigrants nabbed at the border in Texas being released, ferried to airports and dropped off to catch flights taking them deeper into the U.S.

Bill Melugin, a Fox News reporter, posted a video taken from Brownsville, putting the Biden administration’s practice of catch-and-release in stark images.

The Biden administration has acknowledged difficulties with defending the border and said it was being compelled to catch and release illegal immigrant families.

But the new Fox video showed only men, underscoring the broadening nature of catch-and-release.

America Last: Biden Frees Record Number of Illegal Aliens Into U.S. Via ‘Catch and Release’

President Joe Biden has released a record number of border crossers and illegal aliens into the United States interior via a little-known federal program used as part of a larger “Catch and Release” policy.

As of late December 2021, Biden has placed about 150,755 border crossers into the government’s Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program, wherein border crossers are apprehended and quickly released into the U.S. interior with minimal tracking.

In some circumstances, ATD simply places ankle monitors on border crossers before releasing them into the U.S. interior. Border crossers often tear the ankle monitors off. In other circumstances, ATD asks border crossers to report to the government via telephone or be monitored by a smartphone application.

An official with the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University, which compiles the data, told Border Report that this is the highest number of border crossers placed into the ATD program since its inception in 2004. The Biden Administration Just Forced Every American Town to Host Illegal Aliens

The Biden administration recently turned nearly every community in America into an illegal alien sanctuary.

Under a new policy, federal immigration law enforcement is now largely prohibited from arresting criminal aliens in your neighborhood if you live near a playground, a recreation center, a school, a place of worship or religious study, a location that offers vaccinations (such as a pharmacy), a community-based organization, any location that hosts weddings (such as a civic center, hotel, or park), any location with a school bus stop, any place “where children gather,” and many more places that are common to most towns.

What used to be safe spaces for law-abiding Americans and vulnerable members of society have been transformed into safe spaces for violent offenders with no right to be in the United States.

The scope is virtually limitless and prohibits all of the authorities of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), such as “arrests, civil apprehensions, searches, inspections, seizures, service of charging documents or subpoenas, interviews, and immigration enforcement surveillance.”

Officers are prohibited from doing their job anywhere “near” a so-called “protected area,” an imprecise standard that Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), admits has “no bright-line definition.” Mayorkas, who outlined the new policy last month, claims that putting a sanctuary in every community is a “noble” way to “advance our country’s well-being” and ensure that illegal aliens have access to “essential services” and can engage in “essential activities.” (Read more from “The Biden Administration Just Forced Every American Town to Host Illegal Aliens” HERE)
