Tragic: Border Patrol Rescues 6-Year-Old Boy Abandoned by Immigrant Smugglers in the Arizona Desert

. . .While on patrol Saturday afternoon, CBP agents came across a tiny 6-year-old Costa Rican boy crouched on the side of the road, clutching a dirty backpack. The child told Border Patrol that his “uncle” — likely a smuggler or human trafficker — had abandoned him in the extreme heat.

“Agents discovered the child west of Lukeville, Arizona and just north of the border, in temperatures over 100 degrees,” a CBP agent spokesperson said in an official press release. “The child told agents he was dropped off by his uncle and that Border Patrol would pick him up. He added that he was on his way to see his mother in the U.S.”

The incident, Border Patrol says, highlights the dangers child migrants face after being sent, usually alone, on a dangerous and illegal journey across the U.S.-Mexico border — echoing the words of the president who said Saturday on Twitter that the lack of border enforcement during the Obama Administration encouraged an increase in risky behavior.

According to current estimates from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, of the approximately 13,000 children in Border Patrol custody, around 11,000 are unaccompanied minors. Parents of Kids Killed by Illegal Aliens: We Asked Trump to Sign Photos of Our Children

On Friday, the legacy media successfully turned the focus away from the heartbreaking stories of families who have been permanently separated from their loved ones because of crimes committed by illegal immigrants and instead focused on how narcissistic President Trump supposedly is.

At an event at the White House hosting 11 “angel families” whose relatives suffered gruesome deaths at the hands of illegal immigrants, the president signed large photographs of the young victims. According to Trump’s detractors, that made him a “sociopathic ghoul,” as one person tweeted.

“He really will put his name on anything,” writer Johnny McNulty tweeted.

Filmmaker James Gunn tweeted: “This tone deaf oaf actually autographed photographs of murdered children.”

Entire articles were written about the furious fallout from the event caused by Trump’s signatures on the children’s photos. But apparently none of these people felt compelled to ask: Did these families want Trump’s signature on the photos of their deceased loved ones?

An article in The Hill stated definitely, “It is unclear when Trump autographed the images or if the families requested it.”

Well, it would have been pretty clear had The Hill writer simply asked. But since no one else was willing to, we did.

Sabine Durden, who lost her son Dominic in a fatal vehicle accident caused by an illegal immigrant in California, told CRTV: “I asked [President Trump] myself if he would please do me the honor to sign [my son’s] picture. He gladly agreed and obliged. The other Angel parents also asked for his signature on their poster.” She said, “It’s a true treasure to me. How very sad that [President Trump’s] signature on our pictures is now an issue instead [of] the reason why we only have pictures left.”

Chris Stansberry, who lost his daughter Tierra in a fire prosecutors allege was set by an illegal immigrant, told us that “all of us families ask[ed] President Trump to sign” the photos.

“It has nothing to do with his ego,” said Laura Wilkerson, a mother whose son Joshua was tortured, beaten to death, tied up, and set on fire by an illegal immigrant. She added that all the families would “much rather be at home with our children and never know President Trump.”

Steve Ronnebeck’s son Grant was shot and killed over a pack of cigarettes. The accused killer is an illegal immigrant. He also confirmed to CRTV that the families asked Trump to sign their pictures. “The President did not offer,” he told us. “He was requested to sign them.”

On Friday night, White House social media director Dan Scavino Jr. clarified on Twitter that the Trump autographs were “REQUESTED by family members after their private meeting and visit to the Oval Office.”

But the incurious media ignored his tweet, continued promoting a false narrative, and distracted from the real separation stories and the true immigration crisis: illegal immigrants and the sanctuary cities that harbor them.

“You know you don’t hear these stories, and some of our media won’t talk to you about it, but this is permanent separation,” Ronnebeck said at the event Friday.

If more were willing to cover these stories – instead of made-up stories about Trump’s ego – we might have a shot at starting to mend the permanent family separation crisis that plagues the nation. Trump Wants Illegal Aliens Who ‘Invade’ U.S. Sent Immediately Back Home

President Trump on Sunday called for illegal immigrants who “invade” the U.S. to be sent “back from where they came” from without due process for deportation cases.

“We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came. Our system is a mockery to good immigration policy and Law and Order,” he tweeted. “Most children come without parents…”

“Our Immigration policy, laughed at all over the world, is very unfair to all of those people who have gone through the system legally and are waiting on line for years! Immigration must be based on merit – we need people who will help to Make America Great Again!” he added.

. . .

“Republicans should stop wasting their time on Immigration until after we elect more Senators and Congressmen/women in November. Dems are just playing games, have no intention of doing anything to solves this decades old problem. We can pass great legislation after the Red Wave!” he wrote on Twitter Friday. Obama DHS Secretary Makes Stunning Admission on Border Detentions

Former Obama administration DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson “freely admitted” to Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday morning that his department “expanded family detention” as well as detained some children alone, but added that he believed the decision “was necessary at the time.” . . .

“Without a doubt the images, and the reality, from 2014, just like 2018, are not pretty,” Johnson said. “And so we expanded family detention. We had then 34,000 beds for family detention. Only 95 of 34,000 equipped to deal with families. And so we expanded it. I freely admit it was controversial. We believed it was necessary at the time. I still believe it is necessary to remain a certain capability for families.” . . .

“We did not want to go so far as to separate families, but unless we deal with the underlying causes that are motivating people in the first place we are going to continue to bang our heads against the wall on this issue,” he said.

The Trump administration has come under significant fire of late for both expanded family detention as well as the individual detention of children, two policies that were in place under the Obama and previous administrations.

New Poll: Guess Who the Majority of Voters Blame for Family Separation at the Border? The Results Are Surprising

By Townhall. . .According to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports, the majority of voters are holding illegal aliens accountable for the current separation crisis, not Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement or President Trump (bolding is mine).

Most voters blame the parents of the separated children at the border for the latest illegal immigration crisis, not the federal government.

When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, 54% of Likely U.S. Voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 35% believe the federal government.

To help understand the current political debate over the children issue, a closer look shows that 82% of Republicans and 56% of voters not affiliated with either major political party feel the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. But 60% of Democrats say the government is more to blame for enforcing the law.

. . .

In the meantime, Congress is working on a number of immigration bills in an attempt to fix the problem. The House is expected to take a vote Thursday, with moderate and conservative Republicans split on a number of illegal immigration issues. House Republicans Cancel Immigration Votes in Embarrassing Setback

By Washington Times. Staring at a certain defeat, House Republicans canceled votes on their immigration compromise Thursday — an embarrassing setback for leaders who thought they had finally been able to wrangle some unanimity on an issue that has bedeviled them for years.

Lawmakers emerged from a closed-door evening meeting to say their new goal is a vote sometime next week, after they try to make tweaks to win over conservatives while keeping moderates on board.

The vote on the “moderate” compromise bill was postponed just hours after a more conservative bill failed in the House by a 231-193 vote. More than three dozen Republicans joined Democrats to kill the legislation.

Worried about a twin rejection on the same day, Republican leaders decided on a cooling-off period. (Read more from “House Republicans Cancel Immigration Votes in Embarrassing Setback” HERE)

James Woods Eviscerates Obama Legacy, Posts His Own Version of Time Cover

By Conservative Tribune. The liberal media has declared all-out war on President Donald Trump, evidenced by their incessant and self-righteously indignant negative coverage of virtually everything he says and does.

The latest outrage du jour for the virtue-signaling liberal media is the “zero tolerance” border policy — based on court precedent set in 1997 and clarified in 2016 — that results in illegal immigrant families being temporarily separated when detained and processed following illegal entry into the country.

That policy from the administration has been likened to the vile and despicable acts of the Nazis, and the media has gleefully perpetuated the notion that Trump and his administration have taken delight from splitting up families and throwing children in “concentration camps.”

Along those lines comes the latest magazine cover from TIME — who have a history of slamming Trump on their covers — which juxtaposes a smugly smiling Trump looking down on a sobbing illegal immigrant girl who’d been detained with her mother at the border.

There’s just one big problem with TIME’s cover and accompanying piece — the separation of illegal immigrant families at the border didn’t start with the Trump administration, but occurred under the past few administrations as well, including that of former President Barack Obama.

Crying Toddler on Widely Shared ‘Time’ Cover Was Not Separated From Mother

By NPR. In the image, a little girl wails in uncomprehending sadness and anxiety.

Her face flushed nearly as pink as her shirt and shoes, she stares up at her mother and a U.S. official, both too tall to be seen. The 2-year-old Honduran child’s panic is so palpable, it’s difficult for a viewer not to feel it, too. . .

There’s a complication, though: The little girl was not ultimately separated from her mother, according to her father. The man, whom Reuters identified as Denis Valera, has told multiple media outlets that mother and daughter were detained together while seeking asylum in Texas. Clueless Media Blame Trump for Detention Abuses Under Obama

In the wake of an eye-opening report from the Associated Press, which details allegations of abuse at a detention center that has temporarily held illegally trespassing foreign minors since 2007, members of the media are blaming President Trump.

Last month, Trump described members of the notorious MS-13 gang as “animals,” causing Democrats and members of the media to lose their minds and wrongfully assert that the president was de-humanizing immigrants and people of Hispanic descent. Now, members of the media, university professors, and bureaucrats are saying this comment proves Trump is responsible for creating the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center — which has housed foreign minors under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama — where the minors were reportedly mistreated while waiting for their hearing date to determine whether they would be deported or granted asylum.

Yet the Associate Press reporting and underlying lawsuit that forms the basis for these allegations also says the alleged mistreatment of children happened under Barack Obama’s presidency, starting in 2015. . .

The AP reports that many of the foreign minors were sent to this facility after federal immigration authorities suspected they were involved in gang activity. The AP says the facility was built “to provide ‘secure placement’ for children who had problems at less-restrictive housing.”

The Shenandoah detention center was built by a coalition of seven nearby towns and counties to lock up local kids charged with serious crimes. Since 2007, about half the 58 beds are occupied by both male and female immigrants between the ages of 12 and 17 facing deportation proceedings or awaiting rulings on asylum claims. Though incarcerated in a facility similar to a prison, the children detained on administrative immigration charges have not yet been convicted of any crime.

President Trump Just Signed an Executive Order on Family Separation, This Is What It Says

President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday afternoon ending the separation of parents from children who are detained for crossing the border illegally.

“Thank you very much. We’re signing an executive order. I consider it to be a very important executive order. It’s about keeping families together while at the same time being sure that we have a very powerful, very strong border, and border security will be equal if not greater than previously,” Trump said. “We’re going to have strong, very strong borders, but we’re going to keep the families together. I didn’t like the sight or the feeling of families being separated.”

The order does not strip zero tolerance enforcement, meaning individuals who enter the country illegally or claim asylum outside of official ports of entry will still be charged and prosecuted. Family units will be held together in detention facilities.

“It is the policy of this Administration to rigorously enforce our immigration laws. Under our laws, the only legal way for an alien to enter this country is at a designated port of entry at an appropriate time. When an alien enters or attempts to enter the country anywhere else, that alien has committed at least the crime of improper entry and is subject to a fine or imprisonment under section 1325(a) of title 8, United States Code,” the order, titled Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation, states.

“This Administration will initiate proceedings to enforce this and other criminal provisions of the INA until and unless Congress directs otherwise. It is also the policy of this Administration to maintain family unity, including by detaining alien families together where appropriate and consistent with law and available resources. It is unfortunate that Congress’s failure to act and court orders have put the Administration in the position of separating alien families to effectively enforce the law,” it continues. Watch: Socialists Harass, Attack DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen While She’s Eating Dinner

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen received an earful from angry demonstrators as she dined Tuesday at a Mexican restaurant in D.C.

According to USA Today, members of the local Democratic Socialists of America chapter showed up to MXDC to confront her over the Trump administration’s schismatic “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.

The group shared a video of the interaction in a Facebook post.

“We’re in downtown DC disrupting DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s dinner at MXDC,” the group wrote. “The irony isn’t lost on us that this is a Mexican restaurant.”

The post claimed Nielsen “has led the program to tear apart (families)” and that Tuesday’s demonstration was “to tell her to put an end to separating families, to step down as head of the department, and that (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) must be abolished.”

Nielsen has faced mounting calls for her resignation in recent days as reports of families being separated by federal officials have outraged social, political and religious leaders across the ideological spectrum.

In what is believed to be the video of Tuesday’s confrontation, protesters can be heard taunting Nielsen and shouting questions in the direction of her table.

“How can you enjoy a Mexican dinner as you’re deporting and imprisoning tens of thousands of people who come here seeking asylum in the United States?” Jesse Rabinowitz asked. “We call on you to end family separation and abolish ICE.”

The protester later told USA Today that Nielsen did not acknowledge the demonstration and everyone involved had already left the restaurant by the time law enforcement arrived. Another video appeared to show Secret Service officers questioning protesters in the area.

A subsequent statement from the group indicated police “attempted to detain several members of MDCDSA to no avail.”

Nielsen left MXDC a short time later, according to a Twitter video posted Tuesday evening.

The secretary’s spokesperson confirmed the disruption in a series of tweets the same night.

“While having a work dinner tonight, the Secretary and her staff heard from a small group of protestors who share her concern with our current immigration laws that have created a crisis on our southern border,” Tyler Q. Houlton wrote.

A member of the left-wing political group said the protest was “nothing compared to the horrors” Nielsen has caused to families impacted by Trump administration policies enforced through the Department of Homeland Security.

“We will not stand by and let Secretary Nielsen dine in peace, while she is directing her employees to tear little girls away from their mothers and crying boys away from their fathers at our borders,” Margaret McLaughlin said. Democrats’ Border Separation Bill Would Let Nearly All Parents Who Commit Federal Crimes Get off Scot-Free

Democrats’ proposed legislation to prohibit so-called border separations would actually prevent federal law enforcement agencies almost anywhere inside the United States from arresting and detaining criminals who are parents having nothing to do with unlawfully crossing the border and seeking asylum.

Every Senate Democrat has now signed on to cosponsor a bill written so carelessly that it does not distinguish between migrant children at the border and U.S. citizen children already within the United States. The bill further does not distinguish between federal officers handling the border crisis and federal law enforcement pursuing the ordinary course of their duties.

Let’s break down Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s proposed “Keep Families Together Act” to see where Democrats went wrong. The bill provides that “[a]n agent or officer of a designated agency shall be prohibited from removing a child from his or her parent or legal guardian at or near the port of entry or within 100 miles of the border of the United States” (with three exceptions to be discussed later). Four immediate warning signs in this provision should put the reader on notice that this bill is not what Democrats claim.

First, “designated agency” here is defined as the entirety of the federal departments of Homeland Security, Justice, and Health and Human Services. The scope of the bill is not limited to those portions of these departments involved with the border crisis, and there is no other limiting factor in the bill that would cabin the prohibition on family separation to immigration-related matters. In other words, this bill is going to regulate conduct across a great many federal offices that have nothing to do with separating children from families arriving unlawfully in the United States.

Second, “agent or officer” is not defined by the legislation, except to say that it includes contractors. Federal law, however, already defines “officer” to include (with exceptions not relevant here) every federal employee appointed to the civil service by the head of an executive agency and ultimately overseen by the head of an executive agency.
