The Democratic National Committee (DNC) sent out a paranoid email Saturday evening urging supporters to vote for Democrats so that Republicans can’t impeach President Obama.

The email, subject line “Impeachment,” was sent to Obama for America supporters, imploring them to contribute to the DNC’s 2014 efforts. “What do these people all have in common?,” the email asked, featuring quotes from Republican Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Rep. Kerry Bentivolio of Michigan, and Rep. Blake Farenthold of Texas discussing the possibility of impeaching Obama for one of his numerous instances of presidential misconduct.

The DNC email discussed the “I-Word” and said that “Republicans are actually excited about the idea.”

Mark Levin: ‘If This Is Not an Impeachable Offense, Then What Is?’ (+video)

Photo Credit: markn3tel/flickr“If this is not an impeachable offense, then what is?,” Mark Levin asked his audience after playing clips of President Barack Obama repeatedly telling Americans they could keep their health care plans under Obamacare.

On his Friday radio program, Levin proposed the question after playing a clip of Obama saying “You can keep your plan” on 36 separate occasions:

“I have a question for you, it is a perfectly legitimate question,” said Levin. “This man and his party have destroyed healthcare for millions of Americans. You folks are not gonna get it back unless this entire system is withdrawn. Millions more of you are gonna fall under the same trap…

“Impeachment’ Cited By Growing Number In House Of Representatives (+video)

A 15th member of Congress has discussed the impeachment of Barack Obama, noting that he’s confident the U.S. House, if it came to a vote, “would probably impeach the president.”

The comments come from Rep. Bill Flores, R-Texas, who was speaking at a recent town hall meeting.

“I’ve looked at the president. I think he’s violated the Constitution. I think he’s violated the Bill of Rights,” he said.

He said at some point a decision must be made, and he said, “I think if the House had an impeachment vote it would probably impeach the president.”

But he noted the 46 members of the GOP in the U.S. Senate, where an impeached president would be put on trial.

Things Fall Apart for Obama – Left Abandoning Him

It’s so bad for President Obama that there is now talk of impeachment, not from his foes on the right but from his former allies on the left, if he proceeds with an attack on Syria absent Congressional approval. Dennis Kucinich kicked off the talk late last month with a tweet:

200 in #Congress demand #Syria vote. #Constitution art.1 sec.8 -@BarackObama risking #Impeachment? (@washingtonpost https://t.co/f12uDY3TTu)– Dennis Kucinich (@Dennis_Kucinich) August 30, 2013

But yesterday it got serious, as prominent blacks intellectual leaders took up the theme. From Buzzfeed:

“It doesn’t make sense to commit more war crimes,” Cornel West said Sunday on the syndicated radio show Smiley and West, to an approving response from host Tavis Smiley, who has also been consistently critical of Obama. (snip)

Senator: Obama ‘Perilously Close’ to Impeachment (+video)

coburn1-compressedThe momentum to remove the president is growing rapidly, as almost every day another lawmaker raises the possibility of impeaching President Obama.

Now, it’s Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla, who said Wednesday the president is getting “perilously close” to qualifying for impeachment.

Speaking at the Muskogee Civic Center in Oklahoma, the senator said, “What you have to do is you have to establish the criteria that would qualify for proceedings against the president, and that’s called impeachment.”

“That’s not something you take lightly, and you have to use a historical precedent of what that means. I think there’s some intended violation of the law in this administration, but I also think there’s a ton of incompetence, of people who are making decisions.”

A constituent then responded, “Even if there is incompetence, the IRS forces me to abide by the law.”

Rapidly Growing Overpasses Movement Inspires Citizens to Stand for Impeachment

Photo Credit: Examiner By Dean Chambers

The Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment movement is growing rapidly, it now has 30,000 members nationally and will soon grow to more than 100,000, says founder James Neighbors, who interviewed with Arlington Conservative Examiner today. Neighbors is National Coordinator and Founder of the Overpasses movement.

“Our growth rate has increased dramatically. We’re now approaching, or have just passed 35,000 members,” said Neighbors, “The media has been publishing articles all over the place, with a few negatives, but that’s to be expected. At our current rate of growth, we estimate that we’ll pass 100,000 members in a month. We had a few issues with law enforcement not understanding the Constitution, again to be expected.”

The 35,000 members have joined one of the 50 state Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment Facebook groups, where the groups are used by the movement to organize and coordinate events and communicate with members online. Social networking sites have proven effective for the movement to communicate with members, recruit new members, and organize rallies and groups in all 50 states.

Neighbors expects the movement to continue growing and also take on additional goals for reforming government, including opposing members of the House and Senate who have failed to uphold their oath of office. Neighbors said, “By the current rate of growth, averaged out over the time since we came into existence, that is the projected number (100,00 members). We have a very long-term goal. Not only are we intent on having Obama removed from office, we’re also beginning to organize to speak out against DC politicians who have forgotten their oath of office and engaged in unconstitutional acts. Feinstein, Reid, Pelosi, McCain, to name a few.

Nation’s Oldest Leftist Weekly Demands President’s Impeachment Over Mass Surveillance

In the pages of The Nation, the oldest continuously published weekly in the country and the self-described “flagship of the left,” a former member of the House of Representatives has called for the impeachment of the president over revelations of massive government surveillance of ordinary citizens.

Democrat Elizabeth Holtzman of New York, who sat on the House Judiciary Committee during the Watergate era, powerfully yet dispassionately lays out the case for the immediate impeachment of the president.

“Nothing less is necessary to protect our constitutional system and preserve our democracy,” she declares.

The last straw for the retired Congresswoman was the revelation that the president “directed the wiretapping of hundreds, possibly thousands, of Americans” (a number that is likely conservative).

“As a matter of constitutional law, these and other misdeeds constitute grounds for the impeachment,” writes Holtzman in her bombshell treatise. “A President, any President, who maintains that he is above the law — and repeatedly violates the law — thereby commits high crimes and misdemeanors, the constitutional standard for impeachment and removal from office.”

[Editor’s Note: This piece is somewhat satirical. The Nation link above is directed to a 2006 article calling for Bush’s impeachment. Restoring Liberty contacted the author who stated the following: “go to the piece in The Nation. Each time you see Bush, insert Obama — particularly in the parts about mass surveillance. Does the case for impeachment still apply? If so, what does that say about the character and credibility of The Nation?”]

Prolife Leaders Believe Obama Should be Impeached for Unlawful Surveillance

Troy Newman of Operation Rescue told LifeSiteNews.com he was not at all surprised by the revelation that the U.S. government is spying on its own citizens.

“It’s finally out,” Newman said. “These are the things that we have been suspecting and confirming and warning people about for at least the last 20 years. With the advent of technology, it’s become much easier for the government to spy upon us and monitor our conversations. Before, it was just our mail and telephone. Now, it’s obviously cell phones and all internet interactions.”

Newman linked the administration’s disregard for the most vulnerable human life with its apparent disregard for privacy rights, saying, “If killing children in the womb is a constitutional right, then we have no civil rights in this country. Everything else can be stripped away from us. So, this ought not surprise anyone.”

But just because Newman is not surprised by the government’s spying does not mean he doesn’t want to see the people responsible punished.

Asked what he thinks is the proper response to the news of the NSA’s intelligence gathering efforts centered on ordinary Americans, Newman said, “I think Obama should be impeached.”

Rush Limbaugh: ‘We Can’t Impeach Obama’

Photo Credit: WNDWhile a new poll says half of Americans and one-in four Democrats want Barack Obama impeached from office for a series of recent major scandals, the president’s archenemy in the media says working toward booting the commander in chief is simply a “wasted effort.”

“We can’t impeach Obama, it isn’t gonna happen,” radio powerhouse Rush Limbaugh said on his program Monday, “but we can impeach the Democratic Party and get it out of town by voting them out.”

The Obama administration has come under severe fire this month for its handing of the terrorist onslaught in Benghazi, Libya, the targeting of conservative and tea-party groups by the Internal Revenue Service, and the monitoring of phone records of journalists.

“As far as the public is concerned, Obama’s not in trouble,” Limbaugh said. “This isn’t gonna touch Obama. Benghazi’s not gonna touch Obama. Nothing else has touched Obama. The economy hasn’t touched Obama. The debt hasn’t touched Obama. The fact that nobody can find a decent job anymore hasn’t touched Obama. The fact that militant terrorists are all over the place attacking Americans hasn’t touched Obama. Why is this?”
