Vegas Shooter Is New Idol for ISIS in U.S.

The Islamic State, also called ISIS, may or may not have had anything to do with the Las Vegas attack that killed 58 innocent Americans and injured 500 on Oct. 1, but one thing is certain.

The crumbling Islamic caliphate has been offered a propaganda cherry by the FBI.

By claiming credit for Paddock’s grandiose attack at the same time the FBI has been silent on the shooter’s motive, this gives a window of opportunity for an ISIS propaganda coup, according to national-security experts.

In the world of international terror, propaganda success means new recruits and new violence against Western targets – and ISIS appears to be positioning itself for both post Vegas.

For example, just this weekend ISIS used the Vegas attack in a chilling appeal for “lone wolves” to take sniper shots at American motorists traveling down highways and to lay small bombs in rural roadways. (Read more from “Vegas Shooter Is New Idol for ISIS in U.S.” HERE)

Soiled ISIS Fighters Surrendering in Droves: ‘It Really Means This Is the End’

Nearly a thousand Islamic State fighters have surrendered to Kurdish forces after the terror group lost its last major city in Iraq, The New York Times reports.

Many of the dejected fighters reportedly have soiled themselves and await interrogation and trial by Kurdish authorities. The mass surrender of the terrorist group is particularly unusual for ISIS, who’ve made a point of fighting to the very last man. In many cases the group made the last days of battle painful for the opposing force by deploying waves of suicide bombers.

One fighter recalled to TheNYT that the ISIS governor of the town of Hawija himself gave the order to surrender in mass. “I believe if the governors are telling us to surrender, it really means that this is the end,” he lamented. Authorities Uncover ISIS Plot Against NYC

A plot inspired by ISIS aiming to kill “thousands” in New York City’s Times Square during the 2016 celebration of Ramadan was disrupted before it could occur, the Justice Department announced Friday.

Although the plotters were discovered in 2016, the charges against them were not made public until Friday.

The plot was foiled when the three men gave the details of their plans to attack Times Square, concert venues, the subway and other landmarks to an undercover agent, according to a statement from the Justice Department.

Officials said three men were arrested: Abdulrahman El Bahnasawy, 19, of Mississaugua, Canada; Talha Haroon, 19, a U.S. citizen of Pakistani heritage, and Russell Salic, 37, a Philippine citizen. They all face terror-related charges, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Joon H. Kim.

El Bahnasawy was arrested on May 21, 2016, in Cranford, New Jersey. The Justice Department said he had “purchased bomb-making materials and helped secure a cabin within driving distance of New York City to use for building the explosive devices and staging the NYC attacks.”

Haroon was arrested in Pakistan. Salic was arrested in the Philippines.

The Justice Department said it monitored the electronic communications of the plotters. Haroon reportedly told an undercover agent that Times Square was “a perfect spot to hit them” and suggested the plan could include a “(d)rive-by, or we surround the whole street and trap them and kill as many as possible.”

El Bahnasawy told the undercover agent that they “seriously need a car bomb at Times Square. Look at these crowds of people!”

He also proposed that he and his co-conspirators “shoot up concerts cuz they kill a lot of people.”

“(W)e just walk in with guns in our hands. That’s how the Paris guys did it,” he said.

The Justice Department reported that Haroon told the undercover agent that “NY Needs to fall. It’s a must.” He also discussed a subway attack targeting “women or kids,” adding that “when we run out of bullets we let the vests go off.”

“I wanna kill . . . them in thousands” he allegedly told the undercover agent. “We have to make a ocean out of their blood .. leave no one standing.”

Salic also told then agent “(i)t would be a great pleasure if we can slaughter” people in New York City.”

According to the Justice Department’s report, the attack was initially planned for around Memorial Day. (For more from the author of “Authorities Uncover ISIS Plot Against NYC” please click HERE)

ISIS Defiant: Las Vegas Gunman Dubbed ‘Abu Abdul Bar Al-Amriki’

The shooter in Sunday night’s mass slaughter of 59 concert goers in Las Vegas, identified as 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock, a man with no criminal history, is now being investigated for possible ties to Islamic terrorists . . .

ISIS claimed credit in an Arabic-language website, but authorities immediately tried to debunk the claim, saying they had no evidence to support it.

“We will investigate that down to the end,” but thus far nothing has been found to connect Paddock to international terrorism, Lombardo said at one of four news conferences held Monday on the shooting . . .

After media continued to discredit the ISIS claims, the terrorist organization doubled down by sending out an official communique identifying Paddock as “Abu Abdul Bar al-Amriki” . . .

Steven Stalinsky, executive director of Middle East Media Research Institute, noted the language posted on the group’s Amaq news agency site matched the language of previous claims that turned out to be true. (Read more from “ISIS Defiant: Las Vegas Gunman Dubbed ‘Abu Abdul Bar Al-Amriki'” HERE)

Still Alive? ISIS Releases Audio Recording of Reclusive Leader

The Islamic State group released Thursday an audio recording allegedly of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, dispelling rumors that he had been killed in battle.

The 46-minute recording was released by Al-Furqan news organization, marking the first time in nearly a year that Baghdadi’s voice has been broadcast to a public audience.

It is unclear exactly when the recording was made, but there is evidence that the message was recorded recently.

Baghdadi makes reference to recent events, including North Korea’s threats against the U.S. and the taking of Mosul by American-backed Iraqi forces, Reuters reported Thursday.

The recording, which was disseminated in Islamic State group chat rooms, begins with a narrator saying, “May Allah protect him.” This phrase is used as prayer for the living, New York Times correspondent and Islamic State group expert Rukmini Callimachi noted, indicating that Baghdadi was not killed as some previous reports had claimed.

Russian defense officials said earlier this year that Baghdadi might have been killed in an airstrike on Islamic State group commanders near Raqqa, Syria.

U.S. officials could not confirm the death, and Iraqi officials also remained skeptical. There were no photographs or other physical evidence of Baghdadi’s body.

Army Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, the commander of coalition forces fighting the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, expressed doubts in August that the Russians had killed Baghdadi.

“Do I believe he’s alive? Yes,” he said, according to Fox News.

Baghdadi no longer appears to be directing the day-to-day operations of the Islamic State group as it struggles to hold on to remaining territory in Iraq and Syria, Pentagon officials have said.

The recording appears to be an attempt to boost the morale of the Islamic State group fighters.

U.S.-backed forces drove them out of their stronghold in Mosul, Iraq, last month and the Islamic State group militants are on the verge of losing Raqqa.

Students Mocks ISIS on Facebook, Gets Investigated for Islamophobia

A law student at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland who supports President Trump is now under investigation for “Islamophobia” after he mocked ISIS in a Facebook post.

Robbie Travers, 21, posted the following comment to Facebook in April after the U.S. Air Force dropped the “mother of all bombs” on an ISIS tunnel network in Afghanistan:

“Excellent news that the U.S. administration and Trump ordered an accurate strike on an ISIS network of tunnels in Afghanistan. I’m glad we could bring these barbarians a step closer to collecting their 72 virgins.”

After Travers made the comment, second-year history student Esme Allman accused him of “blatant Islamophobia.”

Now Travers is being investigated by the university for a “hate crime” because his post allegedly put “minority students at risk and in a state of panic and fear,” the U.K. Independent reported. There has been no police investigation. (Read more from “Students Mocks ISIS on Facebook, Gets Investigated for Islamophobia” HERE)

ISIS Urges Supporters to Poison Food at U.S. Grocery Stores

After urging its supporters in the west to turn cars into weapons, guidance that inspired terror attacks in the UK, Spain and France, ISIS is now calling for sympathizers to poison the food in US supermarkets with cyanide, according to SITE.

In recent days, channels associated with the terrorist army have posted calls for attacks on Europe, Russia and the United States to mark the occasion of the Islamic “Sacrifice Feast” Eid al Adha. In the third part of an English-language series on jihad, IS advised would-be attackers to inject food for sale in markets with cyanide poison. According to Spiesa, the organization has tested these methods on prisons, causing horrifically painful deaths.

“The Islamic State group used prisoners as “human guinea pigs,” carrying out chemical weapons experiments in order to plan for attacks against the West, documents found in Mosul have revealed. The papers detailing the tests, which led to the agonizing deaths of prisoners, were discovered at Mosul University in January when it was recaptured by Iraqi special forces. The documents verified by United States and British forces were detailed by The Times in a report published Saturday.

Prisoners had their food and water contaminated by the sprinkling of chemicals found in easily accessible pesticides. The US and Britain now fear that the same methods could be used on a larger scale to contaminate food supplies in the West.”

Mayor of Venice Says ANYONE Who Shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’ in His City Will Be Shot by Snipers

By Stephen Jones. Venice’s right-wing mayor has ordered cops to shoot ANYONE who shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’ – rather than risk a terror attack.

The phrase in Arabic for ‘God is greatest’ has been shouted in multiple terrorist incidents across the continent, but is more commonly harmlessly used by Muslims during prayers as a reminder of God’s significance in their lives.

The Times reports that mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro has reportedly decided its an unacceptable phrase to be shouted in the city’s St Marks Square.

He claimed Venice is safer than Barcelona – where 14 people died being run down by a van last week.

Speaking at a conference in Rimini, north east Italy, he further revealed the extraordinary order he has given to armed police at one of the most popular tourist attractions in Europe. (Read more from “Mayor of Venice Says ANYONE Who Shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’ in His City Will Be Shot by Snipers” HERE)

‘Islam, Eternal Religion of Peace’: French Satirical Magazine Charlie Hebdo Publishes Another Controversial Front-Cover Cartoon About Muslims in Wake of Spain Attacks but Is Criticised for ‘Fanning Islamophobia’

By Gareth Davies. French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has published a provocative front-page cartoon about Islam and the recent terror attacks in Spain which has led to criticism that it risked fanning Islamophobia.

The latest edition of the magazine, which was targeted by Islamist gunmen in 2015 for a depiction of the Prophet Mohammed, shows two people lying in a pool of blood having been run over by a van next to the words ‘Islam, eternal religion of peace’.

Critics of Charlie Hebdo saw today’s front cover as tarring an entire religion, practised by around 1.5 billion people worldwide, by implying it was inherently violent.

A dozen terrorists of Moroccan origin are believed to have plotted last week’s attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, where 15 people were killed and more than 100 injured after a van and car were driven into crowds.

The attackers are thought by investigators to have been radicalised by an extremist Islamic preacher who died in a house where the group was trying to produce explosives. The New Face of Islamic State Terror Is a 10-Year-Old American Boy

A new face of the Islamic State is a 10-year-old American boy the terror army claims came to Syria two years ago with his mother from the United States.

In a new ISIL propaganda video, the boy is identified as an American citizen named “Yusuf” and says he is the son of a U.S. service member who deployed to Iraq.

“This battle is not going to end in Raqqa or Mosul. It’s going to end in your lands,” the boy says.

He looks straight at the camera lens to deliver an anti-Donald Trump diatribe, speaking in what sounds like Americanized English. He is shown living among the residences and destruction of Raqqa, the central Syrian city that ISIL claimed as the capital of its Muslim caliphate.

Scenes depict him with a male friend, Abdallah, 7, horsing around at home, walking among the rubble and learning how to fire a sniper rifle. (Read more from “The New Face of Islamic State Terror Is a 10-Year-Old American Boy” HERE)

CIA Director Reminds Us That ISIS Aren’t Only Bad Guys in Town

It’s not just ISIS that we need to worry about, but also Russia, North Korea, and the rise of Iran.

Newly minted CIA Director Mike Pompeo explored the long-term threats to U.S. interests this week during an hour-long interview at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado.

It’s still quite unclear how the Trump administration plans to divert from the previous administration’s approach in Syria. The Obama administration prioritized the defeat of ISIS while putting many of the long-term regional threats to the United States on the back burner.

The director of America’s premier intelligence agency offered insight into the regional threats that occupy his mind during his long days at Langley. Director Pompeo, a former Republican congressman, emphasized that the new administration is keeping a watchful eye on the adversarial regimes in Russia and Iran.

In Pompeo’s analysis, Russia’s “intention” was to continue to embed itself into Syria. Russia plans on making a permanent play in the country, hoping to install a warm-water naval port that can help Moscow better pursue its global interests, he explained. And if Russia expands into Syria, that will make American policymakers’ lives much more difficult.

Russian involvement in Syria on the side of the Assad regime (along with Iran and Hezbollah) “fundamentally changed the landscape” of the Islamic civil war there, Pompeo said to the forum. The CIA director alleged that former President Barack Obama had essentially “invited the Russians in,” which caused an even more inflamed sectarian environment.

Although he clearly labeled Russia as an adversarial nation with goals opposite that of the U.S., Pompeo remained open to dealing with the Russians on matters of common interests.

Turning to Iran, he noted that the theocratic regime has made troubling progress throughout the Middle East region. Iran is trying to become the “kingpin” of the region in expanding its revolution through Iran, Iraq, and now Syria, Pompeo said.

The CIA director expressed his long-held discontent for the Iran nuclear deal, which received another lease on life as Iran was re-certified as being in compliance with the rules by President Trump. Nonetheless, he said the U.S. would be ready to counter Iranian regional threats.

“They love to stick it to America,” Pompeo told the Aspen forum. “When we have a strategy in place, I’m confident we will be able to push back.”

Moving away from Syria and the Iranian regime, Pompeo said that much of the time dedicated to White House national security discussions these days revolves around North Korea’s nuclear ambitions.

“The president — when I’m with him nearly every day — rarely lets me escape the Oval Office without a question about North Korea,” Pompeo said. “It is at the front of his mind.”

Pompeo entertained the possibility that Iran and North Korea were working together to further their nuclear weapons programs.

“They’ve had a lot of willing partners — suppliers, engineers, and talented physicists,” Pompeo said.

Lastly, the CIA director touched upon the global jihadi threat.

Pompeo expressed confidence that ISIS’ days are numbered, but warned that the global menace of radical Islam will remain a constant threat to the United States.

“The threat from radical Islamic terrorism is something that will be around for an awfully long time,” he warned. (For more from the author of “CIA Director Reminds Us That ISIS Aren’t Only Bad Guys in Town” please click HERE)
