The FBI Groomed a 16-Year-Old With “Brain Development Issues” to Become a Terrorist

Last week, the Department of Justice announced the arrest of a teenager in Massachusetts on allegations of providing financial support to the Islamic State group.

A flurry of reports picked up on the arrest of Mateo Ventura, an 18-year-old resident of the sleepy town of Wakefield, echoing government claims that an international terrorist financier and ISIS supporter had just been busted in the United States. The Department of Justice’s own press release on the case likewise trumpeted Ventura’s arrest for “knowingly concealing the source of material support or resources that he intended to go to a foreign terrorist organization.”

The only problem with the case and how it has been described, however, is that according to the government’s own criminal complaint, Ventura had never actually funded any terrorist group. The only “terrorist” he is accused of ever being in contact with was an undercover FBI agent who befriended him online as a 16-year-old, solicited small cash donations in the form of gift cards, and directed him not to tell anyone else about their intimate online relationship, including his family.

The arrest has shaken his family, who denied allegations that their son was a terrorist and said that he had been manipulated by the FBI. Ventura’s father, Paul Ventura, told The Intercept that Mateo suffered from childhood developmental issues and had been forced to leave his school due to bullying from other students.

“He was born prematurely, he had brain development issues. I had the school do a neurosurgery evaluation on him and they said his brain was underdeveloped,” Ventura said. “He was suffering endless bullying at school with other kids taking food off his plate, tripping him in the hallway, humiliating him, laughing at him.” (Read more from “The FBI Groomed a 16-Year-Old With “Brain Development Issues” to Become a Terrorist” HERE)

Alleged Pentagon Leaks Say ISIS Regrouping in Afghanistan, Angering Taliban

Documents allegedly procured from a trove of Department of Defense leaks suggest the Islamic State’s Afghanistan operation, ISIS-Khorasan, has strengthened markedly under Taliban rule and is consistently plotting attacks around the world, the Washington Post claimed this weekend.

ISIS-Khorasan, or ISIS-K, has taken responsibility for multiple terrorist attacks in Afghanistan since leftist President Joe Biden abandoned the country to the Taliban, another jihadist terror outfit, in August 2021. Several of those attacks have targeted Chinese interests in the country, which have expanded as the Taliban seeks investment from the Communist Party, disregarding China’s ongoing genocide against Muslim people on the countries’ mutual border. Taliban officials enthusiastically reject all indications that the Islamic State is a threat to the stability of Afghanistan, however, and have repeatedly claimed that ISIS simply does not have a presence in the country.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid condemned the Washington Post’s reporting as based on a “fake document” in an extensive statement posted to Twitter on Sunday, declaring that ISIS “has been severely defeated and is in the process of being eliminated.”

The Post claimed that the ominous warnings of the Islamic State rebuilding from the destruction of its “caliphate” in Iraq and Syria using Afghan territory came from documents initially surfacing on the video game chat platform Discord. That set of allegedly classified intelligence and defense documents includes information regarding a wide variety of national security topics, from the status of the war in Ukraine to sensitive conversations attributed to South Korean officials.

FBI agents arrested 21-year-old Jack Teixeira, an Airman First Class in the Massachusetts Air National Guard, in mid-April in relation to the alleged leaks. Multiple corporate media outlets have accused Teixeira of stealing the documents and sharing them on Discord with online friends in an attempt to impress them. Pentagon officials said this month that they are not sure exactly how many documents are now in the public domain as a result of this one incident. Marine in Kabul Airport Blast Says He Was Told Not to Shoot ISIS Bomber

A Marine who survived the deadly bombing at Kabul’s airport during the 2021 US withdrawal from Afghanistan told lawmakers Wednesday he was told not to kill a suspected ISIS terrorist who he believes was responsible for later killing 13 of his fellow service members and countless Afghans.

Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews recounted to the House Foreign Affairs Committee how his team deployed to Hamid Karzai International Airport on Aug. 26, 2021, and were tracking a man who intelligence officers believed was a suicide bomber “throughout the entirety” of the day leading up to the explosion.

“Intel guys confirmed the suicide bomber … described as clean-shaven, brown-dressed, black vest and traveling with an older companion,” he said. “I asked intel guys why he wasn’t apprehended sooner since we had a full description. I was told the asset could not be compromised.”

Vargas-Andrews recounted his experience during his opening remarks at the committee’s hearing examining the Biden administration’s handling of the final weeks of the 20-year US war in Afghanistan. The chaotic effort brought massive crowds to the airport with fewer than 6,000 US troops deployed to assist.

Vargas-Andrews told the committee that his team continually updated intelligence teams that day on the suspect’s actions, noting the men were an “anomaly in the crowd” and “both had obvious mannerisms that go along with who we believed him to be.” (Read more from “Marine in Kabul Airport Blast Says He Was Told Not to Shoot ISIS Bomber” HERE)

US Troops Wounded in Operation to Take Out ISIS Leader

An explosion wounded four U.S. Army troops and a working dog during an operation that resulted in the death of a senior Islamic State leader, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement Friday.

A helicopter raid Thursday evening, conducted with Syrian Democratic Forces partner militia in northeastern Syria, killed Hamza al-Homsi, whose role CENTCOM did not specify but served in a senior position in the ISIS terrorist organization, according to a statement. The injured servicemembers and military working dog are receiving treatment at a medical facility in Iraq, the statement said.

“An explosion on target resulted in four U.S. servicemembers and one working dog wounded,” CENTCOM said, adding that the targeted leader was killed. . .

In a Feb. 10 raid, coalition forces killed Ibrahim Al Qahtani, a senior ISIS leader who helped execute prison breaks of militants sympathetic to the terrorist organization in Syria.

U.S. forces in Syria captured two ISIS militants during a raid conducted jointly with an unnamed Syrian resistance group in late January. (Read more from “US Troops Wounded in Operation to Take Out ISIS Leader” HERE)

Woman Who Joined ISIS in 2014 Wants to Come Home to Alabama

A former ISIS bride is requesting that the United States allow her to return to her home state of Alabama from a Syrian refugee camp.

Hoda Muthana ran away from her home in Alabama at 20 years old to join the Islamic State, even having a child with one of the soldiers. Joining the group in 2014, Muthana said she was brainwashed by online traffickers and regrets all of her decisions, beside having her child, according to Yahoo! News.

“It’s basically like the same day on repeat, for four years,” Muthana said of life inside camp, adding that “the only different thing is your child is growing,” she added.

“If I need to sit in prison, and do my time, I will do it … I won’t fight against it,” she said in a recent interview.

However, in 2015, Muthana was rather enthusiastic about joining ISIS, posting online about burning her passport and encouraging others to commit terrorist attacks in America. (Read more from “Woman Who Joined ISIS in 2014 Wants to Come Home to Alabama” HERE)

55+ Killed in Suspected Islamic Extremist Terror Attack

Authorities reported that gunmen killed at least 55 people in northern Burkino Faso over the weekend, although other sources say that the death count could be much higher.

No organization has claimed responsibility for the attack, but many observers suspect that it was carried out by a regional branch of the Islamic State.

“In recent weeks, the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara have been the most aggressive group, notably in Seno and Oudalan provinces. In addition to attacks against security forces, civilians have also been targeted,” according to Rida Lyammouri, senior fellow at the Policy Center for the New South, a Moroccan-based organization focused on economics and policy. “This is a major blow to security forces and puts them on the back foot again, indicating they are far from being able to secure the area and protect civilians.” (Read more from “55+ Killed in Suspected Islamic Extremist Terror Attack” HERE)

Kansas Woman Confesses to Leading All Female ISIS Battalion

An American woman from Kansas confessed to leading a battalion of all-female ISIS recruits and plotting terror attacks on American soil.

Allison Fluke-Ekren, also known by the alias Umm Mohammed al-Amrik, was originally detained and charged by the FBI in January, and has pleaded guilty to one count of aiding ISIS and confessed to training over 100 women and girls. She also admitted to plotting attacks on American targets, specifically a university and a shopping mall. . .

Fluke-Ekren is a former school teacher and a mother of at least seven children, five of whom were born on American soil, and left the United States for Egypt in 2008, before moving to Libya in 2011. According to court documents, Fluke-Ekren and “others with whom she traveled” were moved into Syria in 2012. Allegedly, Fluke-Ekren relocated because the terrorist group Ansar al-Sharia — the organization responsible for carrying out the 2012 attack on the American compound in Benghazi — had ceased conducting attacks in Libya, and Fluke-Ekren wanted to be involved in “violent jihad.” Court documents also revealed that her husband, who was killed in an airstrike in 2016, was also affiliated with Ansar al-Sharia and that the couple had drafted a report for terrorist leaders after analyzing government documents stolen during the attack. Devastating Blast: ISIS Claims Responsibility for Afghan Mosque Attack That Killed at Least 46

ISIS has claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack that left at least 46 people killed and dozens more wounded in Afghanistan on Friday at a Shiite mosque in the city of Kunduz.

The group claimed responsibility for the blast at the Gozar-e-Sayed Abad Mosque on its Telegram channels, according to Reuters, which reported the number of people killed as 46, with more than 140 wounded.

Agence France-Presse said at least 55 people were killed in the bloodiest assault in the war-torn country since US and NATO forces pulled out after the Taliban took control in August.

Graphic footage showed bloodied bodies surrounded by debris inside the mosque that was used by people from the minority Shiite Muslim community.

“This afternoon, an explosion took place in a mosque of our Shiite compatriots … as a result of which a number of our compatriots were martyred and wounded,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Twitter. Mother of Marine Killed in Afghanistan Has Instagram Account Deleted After Posts Critical of Biden; ‘You Can’t F**k up as Bad as He Did and Say You’re Sorry’: Biden Meets With Pregnant Wife of Fallen U.S. Service Member

By Daily Mail. Facebook temporarily deleted the Instagram account of the mother of one of the Marines killed in Afghanistan by an ISIS bomb last week after she publicly blamed President Biden for his death and the deaths of the other service members killed.

Shana Chappell is the mother of Kareem Nikoui, 20, who was killed in the ISIS bomb attack at Kabul airport on August 26. . .

On Friday, she posted a tribute to her son on Instagram that received thousands of messages of condolence. In the days since, she shared another tribute and a video of the country singer Coffey Anderson volunteering to sing at a funeral for the slain troops.

On Facebook, Chappell has repeatedly blamed Biden for her son’s death and in a post on Monday just before she had her Instagram account disabled, she wrote a long Facebook post directed at Biden where she described meeting him on Sunday at Dover Air Base. . .

Her account was suspended yesterday and was restored after she posted about being disabled on Facebook, and a Facebook spokesperson has since told DailyMail.com that it was deleted ‘incorrectly’ but it won’t say how the ‘mistake’ came about. ‘You Can’t F**k up as Bad as He Did and Say You’re Sorry’: Biden Meets With Pregnant Wife of Fallen U.S. Service Member

By Daily Mail. The family of a Marine who died in the Aug. 26 terror bombing in Kabul is blaming the Biden administration for the attack.

President Joe Biden met with the family of Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum on Sunday, The Washington Post reported. The length of the meeting, only a few minutes, showed a “total disregard to the loss of our Marine,” McCollum’s sister Roice said.

Rylee McCollum, a 20-year old from Wyoming, was one of 13 American soldiers killed by an ISIS-K suicide bomber outside Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. His wife is pregnant with their unborn child. A GoFundMe for McCollum’s child’s education had raised more than $428,000 by the afternoon of Aug. 30.

Biden met privately with McCollum’s widow Jiennah, Roice McCollum said. During the meeting, Biden reportedly referenced his son Beau’s military service. The interaction struck the McCollum family as “scripted and shallow,” according to the Post.

“You can’t f— up as bad as he did and say you’re sorry,” Roice McCollum said. “This did not need to happen, and every life is on his hands.” (Read more from “‘You Can’t F**k up as Bad as He Did and Say You’re Sorry’: Biden Meets With Pregnant Wife of Fallen U.S. Service Member” HERE)

Father of Marine Seen Cradling Afghan Infant Reacts to Daughter’s Death

The grieving father of a U.S. Marine killed in a suicide attack at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul just days after she shared the now iconic photo of her cradling an Afghan baby described his daughter in a heartbreaking new interview as his “hero” and a true “warrior.”

“She’s a hero. She’s a warrior,” Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee’s father, Richard Herrera, told NBC’s “TODAY” in a recent interview from his home in Roseville, Calif. On Aug. 20, Gee had shared a photo to Instagram of her cradling an Afghan baby at the airport in Kabul, captioning the image, “I love my job.”

Filled with pride, Herrera quickly shared the photo with friends and family. Six days later, Gee was one of the 13 service members killed on Aug. 26 when a bomb went off outside Abbey Gate. Asked by NBC’s Erin McLaughlin what he sees in that photo now, Herrera answered “Just my baby. My baby.”

“It broke me for a while,” Herrera said of his daughter’s death. “It hit me hard.”

Gee, 23, of Sacramento, California, was a maintenance technician with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Brig. Gen. Forrest C. Poole III, commanding general of 2nd Marine Logistics Group, said his unit mourned “the immense loss of Sgt. Gee,” and the others.
