Rapist Sues State for Not Having ‘Proper’ Islamic Food

An inmate has sued the Oregon Department of Corrections staff for failing to serve halal meals in accordance with his Muslim faith.

Rashid Kambarov, 29, who is serving an eight-year sentence for rape, filed a complaint this week in U.S. District Court in Pendleton.

The Turkish migrant is not a U.S. citizen but is living in the United States legally on a green card. He is currently incarcerated at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla and is suing the superintendent along with other administrators at the prison, the Oregonian reports.

Betty Bernt, spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections, said the agency accommodates inmates’ requests for religious diets by offering a “meat alternative tray” or a kosher diet prepared in accordance with Jewish law.

Kambarov alleges he is not served halal meat and that vegetarian alternatives have been cross-contaminated with pork. Halal refers to food and drink prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary laws, including beef and chicken that is ritualistically slaughtered in the presence of an imam. Islamic Professor Taken into Custody for Rape Charges

The prominent Swiss academic Tariq Ramadan, a professor of contemporary Islamic studies at the University of Oxford, has been taken into custody by French police following accusations of rape.

A judicial source confirmed to Reuters that Ramadan was taken into custody on Wednesday. A preliminary investigation was opened after two women filed police complaints against him late last year, accusing him of rape.

Ramadan, a senior research fellow of St Antony’s College, took a leave of absence from the university last November after the two women filed complaints. He has denied the allegations and filed a complaint for slander against the author Henda Ayari, one of his accusers.

In October, Ayari, 40, who heads the women’s organisation Les Libératrices, filed a complaint with prosecutors in Rouen, France, alleging rape, sexual violence, harassment and intimidation by Ramadan. She said she was assaulted by him in a Paris hotel room in 2012.

Ayari said she had described the rape in a chapter of her book, I Chose to be Free, published in France in November 2016, giving her attacker a made-up name. In the book, Ayari describes a sex attack by an intellectual in a Paris hotel room after a conference, saying she fought back but was insulted, slapped and treated violently. Teacher Sued for Teaching Islam as ‘the True Faith’

A lawsuit has been filed against social-studies teacher Christine Jakowski and others in the Chatham School District in New Jersey for teaching public school students that Islam is “the true faith.”

Jakowski’s lesson included an explanation on how to become a Muslim and ended with a plea: “May god help us all find the true faith, Islam. Ameen.”

The Thomas More Law Center said its complaint was filed on behalf of Libby Hilsenrath and her son, a minor, after seventh-grade students at the school “were forced to endure Islamic propaganda and an explicit call to convert to Islam.”

It came during the World Cultures and Geography class.

Richard Thompson, president of Thomas More, explained: “What would people say if our public schools taught Christianity as the true faith? After watching this video, I can’t imagine any reasonable person saying this is not Islamic indoctrination. Why Muslims Can’t Tolerate Man’s Best Friend

. . .Bible Scriptures, in Proverbs, say a good man is kind to his animals but the wicked are cruel to theirs, noted Peter Hammond, the head of the South African evangelical group Frontline Fellowship.

“And we see this in Islam. There’s a tremendous cruelty toward dogs, in particular,” he said,” he said in an interview with “The Glazov Gang,” which regularly invites guests to talk about Islam and the effort to spread Islamic law around the globe.

Hammond said that among Muslims, there’s “obviously a lack of love and appreciation for God’s creation.”

Glazov pointed to Islamic theology, citing, for example, Muhammad’s command to kill dogs and a sacred Islamic text that states an angel did not enter into a house where there was a dog.

Students Flee as Muslim Professor Starts Bizarre Behavior

An adjunct professor of astronomy has been suspended for antics in class so bizarre that students fled the room and the police were summoned.

Tarrant County College’s Daniel Mashburn arrived to his class last Tuesday night 20 minutes late garbed in “a cap, a toboggan, a scarf over his face and gloves.”

According to Fox-4, students in attendance said Mashburn “talked about the Koran and the moon and the dark night,” appeared incoherent, “and never discussed anything astronomy-related.”

“Mostly he was talking about different things of the Muslim faith,” [student April] McLeod said. “I was in class for about five minutes. He kept messing with his pocket and you could tell there was an object in the right-hand pocket. And whenever he went to pull out his hand, I started having this really bad feeling and jumped up and ran out of the classroom.” . . .

Inside Higher Ed reports Mashburn has been replaced by a new instructor while the college investigates his conduct. Study Reveals How Migrants Really Feel About Non-Muslims

Muslim migrants in Austria tend to express “Medieval” attitudes toward Jews, homosexuals, women and non-Muslims, according to an academic survey.

The study by Ednan Aslan, professor of Islamic Religious Education at the University of Vienna, interviewed a sample of 288 of the approximately 4,000 predominantly Afghan asylum seekers in state care in the southeastern Austrian city of Graz, according to the Austrian daily Kurier, Breitbart reported.

The survey found that some 54.5 percent believe Jewish people don’t care about anyone but themselves, and 44.2 percent think Judaism is actively harmful to the world.

Aslan observed: “For certain refugees anti-Semitism is a matter of course, which has given the refugee movement a new dimension.”

Police: Muslim Girl Lied About Attack That Never Happened

An alleged attack against an 11-year-old girl where a man supposedly cut off her hijab while she walked to school last week, did not in fact happen, Toronto police say.

On Jan. 12, the girl told police that she was on her way to Pauline Johnson Junior Public School in Scarborough when a man dressed in black came up behind her. She said the suspect – described as an Asian man with a moustache — pulled off the hood to her jacket and cut off her hijab with a pair of blue-handled scissors before fleeing the area.

Toronto police responded and said they were investigating the alleged incident.

However police said Monday morning that after a thorough investigation, they don’t believe the incident happened.

“There was an extensive investigation Friday and over the weekend and quite simply, investigators came to the conclusion, considering all the evidence they had, that what was described did not happen,” police spokesman Mark Pugash said. US Muslim Population Expanding Rapidly

Pew Research Center came out this week with an updated estimate of the American Muslim population, which is sure to cause a stir on all sides of the issue.

The new numbers come in at 3.45 million Muslims living legally in the U.S. in 2017. That represents only 1.1 percent of the U.S. population but it’s up, by Pew’s estimates, from 3.31 million in 2016.

The U.S. Muslim population grows by about 100,000 every year, according to the Pew study.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, says Pew’s estimates are way off, and that the true number is roughly double, in the 6 to 8 million range – and that was more than two years ago.

“Muslim advocacy groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations routinely cite a span of 6 million to 8 million people in describing the size of Islam in America. That would be between 2 percent and 3 percent of the U.S. population and make Muslims greater in number than Mormons or Jews,” CAIR stated on its website in March 2015.” (Read more from “US Muslim Population Expanding Rapidly” HERE)

New Synagogue Opens Under Temple Mount

While there may not be a Third Temple at which Israeli Jews can worship atop the Jerusalem Temple Mount, there is a brand-new synagogue under the foundation of the holy site – and it’s open for prayer.

The new center of worship is the result of 12 years of construction at a cost of $50 million, and it is located directly under the Western Wall, where Jews have gathered for centuries to pray at the retaining wall for the Temple Mount.

“The unique design of the prayer hall combines rare art and unique lighting, creating a wonderful contrast between ancient and modern,” said a statement by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

In a related development, Israeli Culture Minister Miri Regev has suggested the government allocate another $50 million to explore the foundations Temple beneath Muslim Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In the new synagogue, the bimah, or altar, and seating are made of wood. The synagogue features dozens of elegant benches, arranged in separate men’s and women’s sections. (Read more from “New Synagogue Opens Under Temple Mount” HERE)

France OKs Muslim Prayers in Street, Bans Christmas Movie

France is a secular Republic, because it separates religion and state and it mostly sees religion as a private matter; restricted to the home and places of worship.

But for years, France has allowed Muslim street prayers and to heavily criticise them was simply not done. Sometimes even roads were blocked and cars were being redirected to make room for Muslim street prayers. It looks like when Islam is involved, France’s secular principles have suddenly disappeared.

For Christianity in France it’s a totally different story. According to the European Post, a Christmas movie in the French city of Langon was banned, because it was “too Christian”, or “not secular enough”. The European Post writes:

A Christmas movie was judged by teachers as “not secular enough” and was therefore banned from schools in the French city of Langon in the department of Gironde on 13 December.

83 students of a French school started to watch the movie “The Star“, a computer animated adventure comedy based on the history of Jesus, a movie produced by Columbia Pictures.
