Leftist Has a Meltdown on CNN, Justifies Palestinian Suicide Bombings

In case you missed it, the organization sponsoring a planned trip to Israel by Democrat Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib celebrates suicide bombings and the slaughter of children. They also spread vicious lies about Israel to fuel anti-Semitic hatred.

The group’s name is Miftah. During a panel discussion yesterday on CNN, Atlantic writer and CNN contributor Peter Beinart justified the use of suicide bombings by Palestinian terrorists. He did so during a ranting defense of Omar and Tlaib’s association with the organization. National Review’s Rich Lowry pushed back.

House Democrats Weighing Action Against Israel

Senior Democratic members of Congress are said to have launched discussions to formally censure the U.S. Ambassador to Israel and Jerusalem’s envoy in Washington over Israel’s decision to bar entry to congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.

Around a dozen lawmakers, several of whom are Jewish, have begun talks to communicate a “deep lack of confidence and trust” in Israel’s ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer and U.S. envoy to Israel David Friedman, the McClatchy news service reported, citing congressional sources.

According to the report, the Democrats are considering releasing a statement of no confidence in Dermer and opening an inspector-general investigation into Friedman.

Among the twelve are House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel and House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita Lowey, two Jewish lawmakers from New York.

“We are reviewing all of our options,” McClatchy quoted a source as saying. “With Dermer, the issue is that there already was a severe lack of trust. But now there is a severe lack of confidence. It is completely unclear that he represents his government given he has made promises that he has not kept and wasn’t clear if he ever had any chance of keeping.” (Read more from “House Democrats Weighing Action Against Israel” HERE)

Hilarious: Here’s Who Trump Says Is the ‘Only Real Winner’ in Rashida Tlaib’s Israel Setup

Katie covered early Friday the fact that anti-semitic Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib’s dishonest PR stunt regarding her Israel trip, or as Rep. Tlaib would say ‘Palestine,’ was a complete set up from the beginning designed to make Israel look bad. “Yesterday after the Israeli government denied Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Tlaib from entering the country due to their advocacy for the BDS movement, Tlaib was offered a humanitarian exception to visit her grandmother,” Katie wrote. It was revealed that Rep. Tlaib actually asked permission from the Israel government to visit her relatives and promised she would not speak about the BDS issues. But, after being granted permission, she refused to go because she claimed Israel was still somehow oppressing her with their restrictions. . .

“Omar and Tlaib weren’t denied entry to Israel because they are Muslim, they were denied entry because they are tied to terrorism, actively support the BDS movement and do not believe the country has the right to exist. It’s not complicated. It is simple. They won’t be visiting Israel for these reasons, but, they already knew that.”

Friday evening, it seems President Donald J. Trump would agree with Katie’s analysis.

If You Want a Reason Why Israel Barred Anti-Israel Democrats From Entering, Just Look What They Wrote on Their Itinerary

Well, this was predictable. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) came to the defense of her terrorist-sympathizing colleagues known for peddling anti-Semitic tropes today. The call was made and the anti-Semitism defense league was assembled. Why? Well, as Katie noted, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu barred Reps. Rashida Talib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from entering the country and rightfully so. Both women support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, which is viciously anti-Israel. And by vicious, I mean, these clowns are pushing for the destruction of the Jewish state[.] . .

AOC then accused Netanyahu of supporting a message that only some Americans are welcome (via The Hill):

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) tore into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after he announced he would not permit Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) entry for an upcoming trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories.

“[Members of Congress] are frequently asked to visit Israel to ‘see things for ourselves,’” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “But Netanyahu choosing to ban the only 2 Muslim women in Congress from entering tells the US that only *some* Americans are welcome to Israel, not all.”

Ilhan Omar’s and Rashida Tlaib’s Israel-Bashing Just Got Them Barred From Israel

Two Democratic House freshmen who have repeatedly come under criticism for anti-Semitic statements will not be allowed to enter Israel for an upcoming visit, Israeli government officials said Thursday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely confirmed that the country would would deny entry to Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar, Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, Mich., based on their support of the anti-Israel BDS movement.

“Israel has decided — we won’t enable the members of Congress to enter the country,” Hotovely told the Israeli public broadcaster Kan. “We won’t allow those who deny our right to exist in this world to enter Israel. In principle this is a very justified decision.”

Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are both supporters of the anti-Semitic BDS movement to boycott Israel. Tlaib even compared boycotts against Israel to boycotts against Nazi Germany from the House floor last month.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement shortly following the announcement that the pair’s planned visit’s “sole purpose is to strengthen the boycott and delegitimize Israel.” According to to the statement, because Omar and Tlaib billed their visit as a trip to Palestine, rather than Israel, and did not ask to meet with any Israeli officials, their “plan showed they only wanted to harm Israel.”

The move came hours after President Trump tweeted, “It would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep.Tlaib to visit. They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds.”

Israeli law clearly states that people can be denied entry to the country if they or an organization they represent have called for a boycott against the country.

Last month, Israel’s ambassador to the U.S. said that Omar and Tlaib would be allowed into the country despite the law “out of respect for the U.S. Congress and the great alliance between Israel and America.”

Other Democrats were not happy about the Jewish state’s Thursday decision.

“Banning Congresswomen Omar and Tlaib from entering Israel and Palestine is a sign of enormous disrespect to these elected leaders, to the United States Congress, and to the principles of democracy,” Democratic 2020 hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders, Vt., tweeted.

Another 2020 hopeful, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said before the announcement that barring the House freshmen entry “would be a shameful, unprecedented move.”

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., called the move “outrageous, regardless of their itinerary or views” and said that the action “reflects weakness, not strength.”

“No democratic society should fear an open debate,” stated Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. “Many strong supporters of Israel will be deeply disappointed in this decision, which the Israeli government should reverse.” (For more from the author of “Ilhan Omar’s and Rashida Tlaib’s Israel-Bashing Just Got Them Barred From Israel” please click HERE)

Israel Navy Works with NATO in Major Exercise

A huge earthquake hits northern Israel, killing thousands and knocking out infrastructure — this doomsday scenario was the premise for a multi-national naval drill this week.

Sailors from France, Greece and the United States arrived on their vessels and were joined by the Israelis off the Israeli port city of Haifa for the four-day exercise, called Mighty Waves.

They simulated extracting wounded civilians to sea for treatment, fishing people out of the water and transferring humanitarian aid, with representatives of seven other navies taking part as observers. . .

Israel is always looking to boost its profile among Western allies as well as reinforce its image as the Middle East’s most powerful military, and the drill was a chance to do that, said Eran Lerman, former deputy to Israel’s national security adviser.

“The very fact that Israel is perceived by key global players as a state that can and should be cooperated with militarily conveys a message of deterrence to potential enemies, while strengthening the increasing ties with like-minded Arab states,” said Lerman, now vice president of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security. Israel Conducts Successful Missile Test Over Alaska

The United States and Israel successfully carried out “a high altitude hit-to-kill engagement” with a co-developed anti-ballistic missile interceptor system in Alaska, officials announced Sunday.

The Arrow-3 Interceptor missile achieved a “major milestone” in its development during a successful flight test where the system effectively intercepted a missile target outside the atmosphere, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) said in a statement.

“This unique success in Alaska provides confidence in future Israeli capabilities to defeat the developing threats in the region,” MDA Director Vice Adm. Jon Hill said in the statement. “We are committed to assisting the Government of Israel in upgrading its national missile defense capability to defend the State of Israel from emerging threats.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a Cabinet meeting Sunday that the Arrow 3 gives his country the “ability to act against ballistic missiles fired against us from Iran and from any other location.”

Arrow 3, along with the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and the Arrow 2 systems, is part of the multi-layered shield Israel is developing to defend against rockets fired from Gaza and Lebanon, as well as Iran’s long-range missiles. Palestinians Are Greater Threat to Israel Than Iran, Expert Says

The Palestinians pose a “greater threat to Israel than Iran and Syria,” the director of a Philadelphia-based think tank told Breitbart in a wide-ranging interview on the heels of a new poll that shows the overwhelming majority of Israelis (78%) do not see an end to the conflict in sight.

Gregg Roman, director of the Middle East Forum (MEF), cited demography, politicized violence and proximity as the reasons why the intransigent Israeli-Palestinian conflict is more dangerous to the future of the Jewish state than even Iran.

“The crux of the conflict is the Palestinian rejection of the right for Jews to have self-determination and live in their ancestral homeland,” Roman said.

“The Palestinians are rewarded for rejecting, Israelis are punished for accepting,” he said, and added that the problem was compounded by the fact that the Palestinians believe “time is on their side.” . . .

Roman pointed to recent statements made by President Donald Trump’s Special Mideast peace envoy Jason Greenblatt that put into question some of the thorniest issues in the conflict and core tenets on the Palestinian side, including the Palestinian refugee misnomer and the Palestinian “right” to a capital in east Jerusalem. During Mueller Hearing, the UN Took Another Swipe at Israel

With Robert Mueller’s anticipated hearings on the Hill now over, we can browse through some of the other news around the world we missed. Boris Johnson delivered his first speech as prime minister, Puerto Rico governor Ricardo Rosselló resigned, and, apparently, the United Nations took (another) biased vote on Israel.

By a vote of 40-2, with 9 abstentions, the UN Economic and Social Council concluded that Israel was the “major obstacle” for Palestinian women “with regard to their advancement, self-reliance, and integration in the development of their society.” The only “no” votes were the U.S. and Canada.

The Jewish state was harshly and repeatedly condemned in a resolution, adopted 40 to 2 with 9 abstentions and 3 absent (see breakdown below), for allegedly being the “major obstacle” for Palestinian women “with regard to their advancement, self-reliance, and integration in the development of their society.”

Out of 20 items on the UN Economic and Social Council’s 2018-2019 agenda, only one — Item No. 16 against Israel — focuses on condemning a specific country. All the other focus areas concern global topics such as disaster relief assistance and the use of science and technology for development. (UN Watch)

. . .

“The UN reached new heights of absurdity by singling out Israel alone on women’s rights, yet saying nothing on Iran holding women’s rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh behind bars, Saudi Arabia jailing and torturing women’s rights activists, and subjugating women under harsh male guardianship laws, or on Yemen denying women hospital treatment without the permission of a male relative,” Executive Director of UN Watch Hillel Neuer noted. Tlaib: BDS Movement Against Israel Like American Boycott of Nazi Germany

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) likened the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement to the American boycott of Nazi Germany during a floor speech on Tuesday.

Tlaib, a Palestinian-American and a supporter of BDS, spoke on the floor about her opposition to a House resolution affirming opposition to the movement. It is likely to pass on a bipartisan basis.

Tlaib said she could not stand by as the “daughter of Palestinian immigrants” and watch an attack on the right to “boycott the racist policies of the government and state of Israel.”

“The right to boycott is deeply rooted in the fabric of our country,” she said. “What was the Boston Tea Party but a boycott? Where would we be now without the boycott led by the civil rights activists in the 1950s and 60s like the Montgomery bus boycott and the United Farm Workers Grape boycott?” . . .

“Americans boycotted Nazi Germany in response to dehumanization, imprisonment, and genocide of Jewish people,” she said. “In the 1980s, many of us in this very body boycotted South African goods in the fight against apartheid. Our right to free speech is being threatened with this resolution. It sets a dangerous precedent because it attempts to delegitimize a certain people’s political speech and to send a message that our government can and will take action against speech it doesn’t like.” (Read more from “Tlaib: BDS Movement Against Israel Like American Boycott of Nazi Germany” HERE)
