Soros Money Used to Promote Movement Against Israel

Money tied to George Soros, a liberal billionaire who uses his wealth to support a number of Democratic and progressive causes, funded the creation of a database that singles out business investment in Israel.

The EIRIS Foundation, a charity organization that focuses on investment research, received donations totaling nearly $300,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations to build a “Business in Occupied Lands” database, according to financial reports from the U.K. Charity Commission between 2015 to 2017.

The database is advertised as a way to help companies practice better corporate social responsibility, i.e., ethical business investing. However, the information from the database only focuses on two areas: Crimea and Israel, which the EIRIS Foundation simply refers to as “Palestine.” Despite claiming the Business in Occupied Lands project to be an “objective” collection of information on corporate operations in Israel, the EIRIS Foundation frames the region as “illegally administered.”

While a growing number of companies across the world are implementing corporate social responsibility into their business practices in an effort to promote justice, experts point out that more partisan-driven actors have weaponized corporate social responsibility to reach political goals. Namely, it has been used to boost the BDS movement, a global campaign that seeks the “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” of Israel and Israeli-linked businesses.

“In addition to being promoted by groups affiliated with the BDS movement, elements of the Foreign Boycott Campaign have recently been adopted by [corporate social responsibility] advisors and companies that employ CSR programs. As a result, the Foreign Boycott Campaign represents the intersection of several strains of discrimination with CSR,” Marc Greedorfer writes in an upcoming law review article. Israeli Archaeologists Find 2,700-Year-Old Artifact That Backs Biblical Record

By The Blaze. According to Reuters, archaeologists in Israel have discovered a 2,700-year-old seal impression that they say validates part of the biblical record.

According to the Israeli Antiquities Authority, the seal was excavated by Shimon Cohen and bears an inscription in ancient Hebrew that reads “belonging to the governor of the city.” The seal was unearthed near the plaza of the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem. The Bible references governors of Jerusalem on multiple occasions in the Old Testament.

The seal is made of clay, and is about the size of a small coin and depicts two men facing each other. It measures 13 x 15 mm across its face and 2-3 mm thick. According to the Antiquities Authority, it was most likely originally attached to a shipment or sent as a souvenir.

According to the excavator, Dr. Shlomit Weksler-Bdolah, the seal “supports the Biblical rendering of the existence of a governor of the city in Jerusalem 2,700 years ago.” (Read more from “Israeli Archaeologists Find 2,700-Year-Old Artifact That Backs Biblical Record” HERE)

Israeli Archaeologists Discover 2,700-Year-Old Clay Seal That Once Belonged to a Biblical Governor of Jerusalem

By Daily Mail. Israeli archaeologists have unveiled a 2,700-year-old clay seal which once belonged to a biblical governor of Jerusalem.

The tiny object depicts two men in striped robes facing one-another above the inscription ‘lesar ha’air’ which in ancient Hebrew means ‘belonging to the governor of the city.’

Researchers an unsure of the exact purpose of the seal, but speculate it could have been attached to some kind of transport and served either as a logo or a souvenir for the recipient, likely a figure of importance. . .

Hebrew University Professor Tallay Ornan and Tel Aviv University Professor Benjamin Sass wrote of the seal: ‘The title “governor of the city” is known from the Bible and from extra-Biblical documents, and refers to an official appointed by the king.

‘Governors of Jerusalem are mentioned twice in the Bible: in 2 Kings, Joshua is the governor of the city in the days of Hezekiah, and in 2 Chronicles, Maaseiah is the governor of the city in the days of Josiah.’ (Read more from “Israeli Archaeologists Discover 2,700-Year-Old Clay Seal That Once Belonged to a Biblical Governor of Jerusalem” HERE)

FAIL: Rashida Tlaib Calls for a Boycott of Israel, but Used Israeli Company to Build Her Campaign Website

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), a leading advocate of the boycott, divest, and sanction movement against Israel (BDS), reportedly used an Israeli tech company to build her campaign website.

The British pro-Israel organization Israel Advocacy Movement first pointed out that Tlaib used the Israeli tech giant Wix to build her campaign website.

In a video, the founder of the Israel Advocacy Movement, Joseph Cohen, called Tlaib the “Palestinian Queen of BDS” and said she “has a website that was built and bought from Israel.” . . .

“These hollow threats of boycott are nothing but political stunts that could never be implemented,” Cohen added. “Could you imagine how many people would suffer because they were deprived of the medical breakthroughs and technological advances that come out of this small nation? It won’t bring peace between Israelis and Palestinians. It’s simply narcissistic self-gratifying virtue-signalling that makes the world a much more divided place.” . . .

“We congratulate Congresswoman Tlaib for her decision to use the best products she can find instead of discriminating against Israel in way that increases hostility, thereby making peace between Israelis and Palestinians more difficult to achieve,” Mark Mellman, the President of the Democratic Majority for Israel said in a statement. “We need to foster economic cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians instead of encouraging boycotts. We hope Congresswoman Tlaib’s use of Israeli products indicates she has changed her mind on boycotting Israel.” (Read more from “FAIL: Rashida Tlaib Calls for a Boycott of Israel, but Used Israeli Company to Build Her Campaign Website” HERE)

Israel-Bashing Group Recent Propaganda Video Is One Giant Misrepresentation

On Monday, NowThis tweeted out a video from far-Left, viciously anti-Israel propagandist group IfNotNow. IfNotNow, which Republican Jewish Coalition Matt Brooks castigated last weekend as a “disgrace” that “in no way speaks for the Jewish community,” ventured last week to the congressional office of noted anti-Semitic conspiracy peddler Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

NowThis tweeted out its IfNotNow propaganda video, which features IfNotNow Founder Emily Mayer, only two days after Tlaib’s tweet. And suffice it to say that the video is…a doozy.

Mayer claims that the “real threat to us Jews” comes not from progressives, but from President Trump and white nationalists. While no one should ever downplay the horrific atrocities considered by white nationalists — including that upon Jews just last October at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh — Mayer may want to check her overall statistics. As The Daily Wire reported on February 1, Fiamma Nirenstein of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs recently reviewed surveys of European Jewry and noted the following discrepancy in perceived anti-Semitism between Jews in the generally Left-leaning nations of Western Europe and the generally Right-leaning nations of Eastern Europe:

The [European] Jews who have felt the rise of anti-Semitism the most (70 percent) live in France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands; …British Jews — at 84 percent — expressed the highest level of concern about anti-Semitism in political life today. Together with Germany and Sweden, the United Kingdom has also seen the highest increase in the number of Jews considering emigrating over the past five years due to safety concerns. [In none of these countries does the far right dominate.]…

In Poland and Hungary, [by contrast], fewer than half of their Jewish populations are worried. …In Hungary, where Viktor Orban’s right-wing government is suspected of racism, the number of Hungarian Jews saying anti-Semitism is a problem has significantly dropped.

America Is Pro-Israel Because Americans Are Pro-Israel

America is pro-Israel because Americans are pro-Israel

Social media is ablaze reacting to the Twitter insinuation of anti-Semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., that Jewish-Israeli money is the real reason why American policy is very supportive of the state of Israel.

Omar’s anti-Semitic conspiracy theories are proven incorrect by virtually every legitimate polling company in the United States that measures Americans’ support for the Jewish state. In fact, last year, according to Gallup, U.S. support for Israel hit a two-decade high. The statistic is incredibly impressive when you consider how hostile and unfair much of the legacy media has been in covering Israel over the past few years.

There are many reasons why Americans support the nation of Israel, which is by far the most free country in the Middle East. For conservatives, it’s largely about our shared classical liberal and Western values. Others cite Israel’s modern economy, impressive technologies, its culture of tolerance, entrepreneurial spirit, respect for the rule of law, insistence upon equality and human rights, and its democratic governing process.

Americans are not fooled into supporting Israel, as Omar seems to imply. America supports Israel because the vast majority of Americans are pro-Israel at our core. (Read more from “America Is Pro-Israel Because Americans Are Pro-Israel” HERE)

Iron Alliance: U.S. To Purchase Israel’s Iron Dome Weapons Defense System

By Daily Wire. On Wednesday, the United States Army confirmed that plans have been finalized to buy two of Israel’s Iron Dome weapons system batteries for $373 million.

The two batteries will include 12 launchers, two radars, two battlement management centers, and 240 interceptors, the Times of Israel reports.

In a statement, U.S. Army Col. Patrick Seiber said that the Army will determine if the system can be used to protect U.S. military service members.

“The Iron Dome will be assessed and experimented as a system that is currently available to protect deployed U.S. military service members against a wide variety of indirect fire threats and aerial threats,” Seiber said, according to CNN. “While Iron Dome has been in operational use by the Israeli Air Force since 2011 and proven effective in combat, it should be noted that the U.S. Army will assess a variety of options for its long-term IFPC solution.”

“No decisions have been made regarding the fielding or experimentation of Iron Dome in specific theaters,” Seiber added. (Read more from “Iron Alliance: U.S. To Purchase Israel’s Iron Dome Weapons Defense System” HERE)

Netanyahu Hails U.S. Purchase of Israeli Iron Dome Batteries

By The Times of Israel. The Israeli Defense Ministry and US Department of Defense on Wednesday confirmed that the US Army will buy Israeli-developed Iron Dome batteries to defend deployed American troops.

Announcing the purchase, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also serves as defense minister, said the deal was proof of the strength of the relationship between the two countries, before warning Israel’s enemies not to test the strength of the country’s “iron fist.”

“This is a great achievement for Israel and yet another expression of the strengthening of our powerful alliance with the US and an expression of Israel’s rising status in the world,” Netanyahu said in a statement. “Israel has an Iron Dome and an iron fist. Our systems know how to deal with any threat, both in defense and in attack. I would not recommend our enemies to try us.” (Read more from “Netanyahu Hails U.S. Purchase of Israeli Iron Dome Batteries” HERE)

Israeli Officials Announce Start of Construction on New Steel Barrier Along Gaza Border

Israel is working on its own version of a border wall. The Defense Ministry announced Sunday that it began building the above-ground portion of the Gaza border barrier, Haaretz.com, an Israeli news outlet reported. . .

The galvanized steel fence will span 40 miles and stand 20 feet high. Additionally, the western portion of the barrier will connect to the new sea barrier being built by the Israel Defense Forces.

The fence is designed to “prevent terrorists from Gaza from penetrating into our territory on the ground,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told media before the weekly cabinet meeting, the website France24 reported.

In addition, the structure is designed to prevent the construction of underground tunnels from Gaza. The project is estimated to cost the equivalent of about $833 million U.S. dollars. Its concrete wall will have sensors, according to Haaretz. . .

Palestinians have gathered along the Gaza border in numerous violent protests because they want to return to the land their families left during the war in 1948. They also want to end the blockade of Gaza by the Jewish state. At least 246 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire in Gaza since March 30. The majority happened during border protests but others were the result of “tank fire and airstrikes,” France 24 reported. Still Want to Boycott Israel? Israeli Scientists Find Cure for Cancer

For all the Israel-haters out there, they’d better hope that that Israelis are forgiving if they are stricken with cancer, because if a new report out of Israel turns out to be true, scientists in the Jewish state have discovered a cure. And not just a cure for certain forms of cancer, but a complete cure for the deadly disease.

According to Dan Aridor, chairman of the board of Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies Ltd. (AEBi) and CEO Dr. Ilan Morad, their treatment will not need time for the body to acculturate to it before it works. Aridor stated, “We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer. … Our cancer cure will be effective from day one … and will have no or minimal side-effects at a much lower cost than most other treatments on the market. Our solution will be both generic and personal.”

As the Jerusalem Post reports, “An estimated 18.1 million new cancer cases are diagnosed worldwide each year, according to reports by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Further, every sixth death in the world is due to cancer, making it the second leading cause of death (second only to cardiovascular disease).”

The treatment is called MuTaTo (multi-target toxin), and works much like antibiotics do in targeting bacteria. MuTaTo is based on SoAP technology, which works by finding, binding and removing bacteria by utilizing bacteriophage-derived proteins. Bacteriophages are viruses that infect bacteria.

MuTaTo inserts DNA coding for a protein into a bacteriophage. Once inside, the protein shows up on the phage’s surface, making it apparent to researchers who can use the phages to find interactions with other proteins, DNA sequences and small molecules. Unlike 2018 Nobel Prize-winning scientists George Smith and Gregory Winter, who used phage display to evolve new proteins or antibodies, the Israelis are producing peptides, which Morad says are better equipped for the job because they are smaller, less expensive and less difficult to manage. Rashida Tlaib’s Ties to Anti-Semitism Run Deeper Than Previously Known

Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s ties to anti-Semitism run deeper than previously known, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

Tlaib, part of a heralded freshman class of House Democrats, has already come under scrutiny over her positions on Israel and ties to fringe figures. But TheDCNF’s investigation uncovered additional ties to anti-Semitism.

Tlaib is a member of the Facebook group “Palestinian American Congress,” where members often demonize Jews. The group’s founder, Palestinian activist Maher Abdel-qader, was a key fundraiser for Tlaib and organized campaign events for her around the country.

In January 2018, Abdel-qader shared an anti-Semitic video that claimed Jews aren’t actually Jewish, and invented their historical claim to Israel and secretly control the media. . .

In several other posts to the group, Abdel-qader insisted that Israeli Jews aren’t actually Jews and in one October 2017 post, he accused Israeli settlers of training children “to terrorize Palestinian civilians.” (Read more from “Rashida Tlaib’s Ties to Anti-Semitism Run Deeper Than Previously Known” HERE)

Israel, in Rare Move, Announces Attacks on Iranian Targets

Israel confirmed early Monday that its military attacked Iranian targets in Syria, in a rare statement on such an operation.

“We have started striking Iranian Quds targets in Syrian territory,” the military statement said. “We warn the Syrian Armed Forces against attempting to harm Israeli forces or territory.” . . .

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently confirmed that Israel had struck hundreds of targets in Syria linked to Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah militant group, including a weapons facility two weeks ago. Iran and Hezbollah are allied with the Syrian government in the civil war.

Two hours after the reports that Israel’s Iron Dome intercepted a rocket fired toward the Golan Heights, Netanyahu, who currently is on a visit to Chad, said in a statement: “We have a defined policy: to harm Iranian entrenchment in Syria and to harm anyone who tries to harm us.”

Earlier Sunday, a roadside bomb went off south of Damascus; the extent of the damage and any possible injuries was unclear. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which closely monitors Syria’s war, said the bomb targeted the vehicle of a “security personality” that it did not identify. The Observatory’s chief, Rami Abdurrahman, said it was unclear whether the individual was killed or wounded. “It was not a random act,” he added.
