Another Year of Bidenflation Means More Record-Breaking Independence Day Cookout Costs

Backyard barbecue buffs all across the nation will pay more for several grilling goodies in 2023 after enduring yet another year of the Biden administration’s damaging economic policies.

A new report from the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) found that the total cost for a 10-person Independence Day gathering featuring hamburgers, chicken, pork chops, chips, lemonade, ice cream, and other goodies will cost $67.73.

AFBF framed this year’s estimation as “Down Slightly From 10-Year High,” after last year’s total of $69.68. But that framing doesn’t provide the whole story, especially considering that Americans will pay 17 percent more for hamburger buns, 5 percent more for potato salad, 4 percent more for ground beef, and 3 percent more for strawberries and ice cream than they did in 2022.

AFBF’s Chief Economist Roger Cryan noted that this year’s overall calculated cost is “still 14 percent higher than it was two years ago.” Data also shows this is “the second highest” priced cookout recorded since the survey’s conception in 2013.

Two years have passed since President Joe Biden’s White House bragged about saving Americans money on their backyard barbecues in 2021. In reality, the prices of barbecue basics were only pennies lower than in 2020, when prices were marred by government-mandated lockdowns and a supply-chain crisis. At the time, Americans were also struggling to keep up with record-high gas prices and a 5 percent increase in the cost of consumer goods.

DOJ Prosecutors Who Allegedly Refused to Charge Hunter Biden Donated to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Records Show

One of the federal prosecutors who allegedly declined to charge Hunter Biden with tax fraud donated to President Joe Biden and the other gave money to Vice President Kamala Harris while working in the private sector, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show.

U.S. Attorney David Weiss, a Trump-appointee who led the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) investigation into Hunter Biden, requested the U.S. Attorney in the Central District of California and the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia to each bring tax charges against Hunter Biden, according to testimony from IRS Whistleblower Gary Shapley.

Weiss’ requests were rejected by Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney for D.C. Matthew Graves and Biden-appointed U.S Attorney for the Central District of California E. Martin Estrada, Shapley testified. Weiss requested special counsel authority after each request was rejected, and Attorney General Merrick Garland denied his requests, according to Shapley.

Biden’s alleged tax evasion from 2014-15 would have to be charged in D.C. prior to the statute of limitations expiring, Shapley said. “However, I would later be told by United States Attorney Weiss that the D.C. U.S. Attorney would not allow U.S. Attorney Weiss to charge those years in his district,” he continued.

“That process meant no charges would ever be brought in the District of Columbia, where the statute of limitations on the 2014 and ’15 charges would eventually expire. The years in question included foreign income from Burisma and a scheme to evade his income taxes through a partnership with a convicted felon. There were also potential FARA [Foreign Agents Registration Act] issues relating to 2014 and 2015. The purposeful exclusion of the 2014 and 2015 years sanitized the most substantive criminal conduct and concealed material facts,” Shapley added. White House Accused of Deleting Heated Exchange Between Karine Jean-Pierre and Reporter

The Biden White House tried to pull a fast one over on Americans by deleting a heated exchange between White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre and a reporter from its official live stream.

Today News Africa correspondent Simon Ateba accused the White House of removing his tense conversation with Jean-Pierre, saying the Biden Administration has discriminated against him.

“The White House, under this administration, we’re committed to the freedom of the press. I want to be very clear about that,” Jean-Pierre declared.

“So are you going to take questions from me?… because you’ve been discriminating against me for the past nine months,” Ateba asked.

The back and forth continued when Jean-Pierre finally threatened the reporter that she would end the press briefing, calling Ateba “incredibly rude.”

IRS Whistleblower Says He Was Barred From Taking ‘Certain Investigative Steps’ That Could’ve Led to President Biden; Hunter Got $8.3 Million From Foreign Sources

By New York Post. The IRS whistleblower accusing the Justice Department of interfering in the Hunter Biden tax fraud probe claimed in a new interview that his team was prevented from taking investigative measures that “could have led us to President Biden.”

IRS supervisory agent Gary Shapley, who delivered bombshell testimony to the House Ways and Means Committee in May related to the five-year-long tax fraud investigation of first son Hunter Biden, made the assertion in a sit-down with CBS Evening News that aired Tuesday.

“There were certain investigative steps we weren’t allowed to take that could have led us to President Biden,” Shapley told CBS reporter Jim Axelrod.

Shapley emphasized in the interview that the investigative procedures the Justice Department purportedly blocked his team from completing were a necessary part of the probe.

IRS Whistleblower: Hunter Got $8.3 Million From Foreign Sources, We Can’t Recoup Taxes on $400K in Unreported Burisma Income

During an interview with the Fox News Channel aired on Wednesday’s broadcast of “Special Report,” IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley said that Hunter Biden got around $8.3 million from China, Ukraine, and Romania and that there is “no way to recoup” taxes owed on $400,000 of unreported income he made from Burisma in 2014 and unreported 2018 income.

Shapley said, “Concerning Hunter Biden, I feel like we have a very good grasp on the income flows, yes. … It was around 8.3 million from 2014 to 2019.”

Oldest President in American History Placed on Respiratory Device

President Joe Biden has begun using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine at night to treat his sleep apnea, the White House announced on Wednesday.

“Since 2008, the president has disclosed his history with sleep apnea in thorough medical reports,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said. “He used a CPAP machine last night, which is common for people with that history.”

Biden, the nation’s oldest president at 80, first disclosed his recurring issue with sleep apnea in his 2008 medical records. Biden’s 2019 medical records revealed he had multiple surgeries on his sinus and nasal passages.

As CNN reported:

During Biden’s 2021 physical, the White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor singled out two areas of “observation”: an “increasing frequency and severity of ‘throat clearing’ and coughing during speaking engagements” and the president’s stiffer gait.

RFK Jr. Won’t Commit to Supporting Biden if He Loses Primary

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday wouldn’t commit to supporting President Biden if the incumbent beats him in the party’s 2024 primary.

Asked at a NewsNation town hall event by moderator Elizabeth Vargas whether he’d pledge to support whoever wins the Democratic nomination, Kennedy said “of course I’m not gonna do that.”

“So if you don’t get the nomination, you won’t support President Biden?” Vargas asked.

“I don’t know what I’ll do,” Kennedy said. “Let’s see what happens in this campaign. Let’s see what – if people are living up to democratic values and having debates and having discussions and, you know, talking to each other, but I’m not going to bite.”

Joe Biden Says Putin Is ‘Clearly Losing the War in Iraq’ (VIDEO)

President Biden this week mistakenly referred to Ukraine as Iraq on two occasions, mixing up the names of recent areas of conflict.

Biden was asked Wednesday to what extent Russian President Vladimir Putin has been weakened by the aborted rebellion in Russia. In his response, he switched out Ukraine for the war that started with a U.S.-led coalition invasion into Iraq and ended in 2011.

“It’s hard to tell, but he is clearly losing the war in Iraq, he’s losing the war at home and he has become a bit of a pariah around the world,” the president said at the White House.

“It’s not just NATO, it’s not just the European Union, it’s Japan,” he added.

Whistleblower No. 2: Hunter Biden Willfully Evaded Millions in Taxes Through Elaborate Scheme

Hunter Biden agreed to plead guilty last week to two misdemeanor counts of failing to pay taxes on time, but according to the second whistleblower whose testimony was also released last week by the House Ways and Means Committee, he also willfully evaded paying millions in taxes in an elaborate tax scheme.

According to the second whistleblower — the lead IRS case agent for the Hunter Biden investigation whose name is redacted — Hunter Biden set up a scheme involving a Ukrainian natural gas company he sat on the board of and a Chinese business associate to willfully evade paying taxes.

The whistleblower said Hunter Biden had already owed hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes long before his father became vice president. In 2014, when the Joe Biden was in his second term as vice president in charge of Ukraine policy and when Ukrainian natural gas company, Burisma, put Hunter on its board of directors, Burisma paid Biden $666,667 to do little or no work.

According to the whistleblower, Hunter Biden received the money from Burisma, and instead of reporting it as income and paying taxes on it, he put that money into a Chinese firm run by one of Hunter Biden’s associates, who then “loaned” the money to Hunter Biden. Joe Biden Used Secret Global Cell Phone While He Was Vice President — Paid for by Hunter, Political Biographer Claims

By Dave Malyon. The topic of Joe Biden using a secret global phone that was being paid for by Hunter Biden’s company during his tenure as vice president has surfaced again.

These allegations revisted the spotlight when political biographer Peter Schweizer spoke to Fox and claimed to have discovered this private phone line from Hunter’s abandoned laptop.

The global phone that was serviced through American multinational telecommunications company AT&T for $300 a month is said to have been able to “access somebody anywhere around the world”.

Schweizer further suggests that this may be the phone that the Ukrainian Burisma executive had used in recorded conversations with Joe Biden as was exposed by a recently subpoenaed FBI document.

‘Somebody’s Lying’: Jonathan Turley Says Congress Should Start ‘Bringing People in’ for Answers in Biden Probe

Jonathan Turley said Monday that “somebody’s lying” about whether U.S. Attorney David Weiss was prevented by the Justice Department from seeking felony charges against Hunter Biden.

Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee released transcripts Thursday of depositions from Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblowers who said Attorney General Merrick Garland and IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel lied to Congress about interference with the Hunter Biden probe. The whistleblowers said Weiss sought special counsel status and was denied permission to file felony charges against Biden in the District of Columbia and in California.

“The different accounts that we’ve heard about what happened in this investigation cannot be reconciled,” Turley told “America Reports” co-host Sandra Smith. “Somebody’s lying, and there is real criminal and impeachable conduct that could be raised and that means Congress’ power is at its apex, and they can move forward and it needs to move forward and it has a full array of powers to do that with.”

The Justice Department announced Tuesday that Hunter Biden would plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges, while a felony gun charge would be addressed via a pre-trial diversion program in what many critics called a “sweetheart deal.”

“Congress needs to start bringing people in. There is nothing that constraints the mind as much as a congressional subpoena,” Turley said. “Hunter Biden should be called in. We need to stop the nonsense. His team is suggesting that maybe the laptop isn’t ours, maybe this is not his message. Call him in and let’s get an answer on the record what this is about.”
