You’ll Never Guess Who Biden Is More Electable Than, According to This Poll

Vice President Joe Biden trails Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, yet he looks more electable than the former secretary of state against top Republicans.

As Democrats prepare for their first debate Tuesday evening, the latest Fox News national poll finds little movement in the primary. Clinton remains the front-runner among Democratic primary voters (45 percent), with Bernie Sanders (25 percent) and Biden (19 percent) behind her by about 20 percentage points. That’s almost identical to where things stood three weeks ago . . .

In hypothetical 2016 matchups with top-tier Republicans, Clinton trails all the Republicans tested. She trails Ben Carson by 11 points and Donald Trump by 5 points. Jeb Bush has a 4-point edge over Clinton, while Carly Fiorina is up by 3 points.

Biden fares better. He leads Trump by 13 points and tops Bush by 5 points. Biden is preferred over both Fiorina and Carson by 4 points. And Biden narrowly bests Marco Rubio by 1 point.

Though Clinton still dominates the Democratic primary race, the new poll confirms a significant decline in her support since summer. In June, her lead over Sanders was double what it is today (61 percent Clinton vs. 15 percent Sanders). And instead of trailing Trump by 5 points, she topped him by 17 points. Clinton was also up by 6 points over Fiorina then, while she’s down by 3 now. (Read more from “You’ll Never Guess Who Biden Is More Electable Than, According to This Poll” HERE)

Biden Himself Leaked Word of His Son’s Dying Wish

Joe Biden has been making his 2016 deliberations all about his late son since August.

Aug. 1, to be exact — the day renowned Hillary Clinton-critic Maureen Dowd published a column that marked a turning point in the presidential speculation.

According to multiple sources, it was Biden himself who talked to her, painting a tragic portrait of a dying son, Beau’s face partially paralyzed, sitting his father down and trying to make him promise to run for president because “the White House should not revert to the Clintons and that the country would be better off with Biden values.”

It was no coincidence that the preliminary pieces around a prospective campaign started moving right after that column. People read Dowd and started reaching out, those around the vice president would say by way of defensive explanation. He was just answering the phone and listening.

But in truth, Biden had effectively placed an ad in The New York Times, asking them to call. (Read more from “Biden Himself Leaked Word of His Son’s Dying Wish” HERE)

Draft Biden Official: ‘I Am 100 Percent That Joe Is in’

biden_double_guns_APWhen Josh Alcorn joined the Draft Biden super PAC, MSNBC headlined its story on the move “Draft Biden just got real.” Alcorn had been finance director and senior adviser to the late Beau Biden, the vice president’s son, and had worked as finance director for Harry Reid as well. Judging from phone conversations Alcorn had on an Amtrak train from New York to Wilmington yesterday, the Biden campaign is about to get still more real.

Another passenger said that Alcorn was being loud enough in the café car to make it hard to work. He said that Alcorn had said on one call, “I am 100 percent that Joe is in.” He was less certain of when Biden would announce, but guessed it would be in mid-October. Alcorn’s own plans to travel to California in early October would have to be canceled if Biden announced earlier.

The other passenger said that Alcorn said that test ads were doing well in converting Hillary Clinton supporters to Biden supporters, and that money had been lined up to come in right before the announcement. He had just had breakfast with Jim Torrey, an Obama bundler, whom he described as wanting to be “the Penny Pritzker” of the Biden campaign. Pritzker was the national finance chair of Obama’s 2008 campaign and is now the Secretary of Commerce. (Read more from “Draft Biden Official: ‘I Am 100 Percent That Joe Is in'” HERE)

Democrats Divided: Biden Dispatched to Hill to Twist Arms on Iran Deal

The White House dispatched Vice President Joe Biden to Capitol Hill Wednesday to sell Democrats on the newly announced Iran nuclear deal, as several influential members voiced reservations about giving it their seal of approval in a vital vote this fall.

Biden was meeting first with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, though the tougher lift may be on the Senate side. In the aftermath of the deal announcement in Vienna, senior Democratic senators made clear they were withholding judgment.

“We’re basically legitimizing Iran’s nuclear program,” Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., told Fox News, voicing concerns about what Tehran gets in return, including the likely lifting of an arms embargo and leverage over the timing of certain nuclear inspections.

“At the end of the day, the challenge here is that 10 to 12 years from now, does Iran have a pathway towards a full industrial-sized nuclear program and the possibility of breaking out to a weapon? And if so, all you’ve done is delayed the question of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.”

Menendez is a leading skeptic but plenty more are staying on the sidelines and could face more pressure from constituents during the August recess. (Read more from “Democrats Divided: Biden Dispatched to Hill to Twist Arms on Iran Deal” HERE)

Tragedy Haunts Joe Biden Once Again

Tragedy has not just afflicted Joe Biden, it has shaped his political soul.

In the latest personal devastation, the Vice President must now endure the torment of burying a second child, after his beloved son Beau died from brain cancer Saturday night.

It’s particularly heartrending because Beau, 46, was also a victim of an earlier incident that shattered Biden’s life, a car crash at Christmas in 1972 that killed his first wife and an infant daughter and badly injured another son as well as Beau.

Stricken with grief back then, Biden contemplated vacating the Delaware Senate seat he had just won as a young rising star of the Democratic Party, but his decision to endure became the foundation on which he built his political creed and public service. In a famous photo at the time, Biden was seen being sworn into the chamber in his sons’ hospital room . . .

But in a deeper sense, his personal tribulations cemented in Biden an almost mystical reverence for family. It pulsates through his politics and is at the root of his love affair with the U.S. Senate, which sustained him when his home life was torn apart and where he served for nearly four decades. Are You Ready for President Biden?

If these were ordinary times, a happy warrior like Joe Biden would be first out of the starting gate in the race for president. It would be so easy; politicking is what he loves to do.

But with Hillary Clinton so dominant in the polls, Biden is hanging back, watching and waiting to see if maybe there’s an opening. He’s telling supporters in the early states that he’ll decide in the next four weeks, or by the end of summer.

On that thin thread, Draft Biden 2016, a SuperPAC designed to draft him into the race, is lining up endorsements in Iowa, the first contest, and organizing house parties and meet-ups across the country, from Maryland to Alaska.

“Our goal is to have one party in each state, including Alaska,” says executive director Will Pierce . . .

Pierce did advance work for Obama in ’08 and ’12, but he’s a novice at fundraising, the coin of the realm for ’16. He says Draft Biden has one or two major donors, and is on track to hit half a million by the end of the quarter when contributions are reported to the FEC. Vice President Joe Biden Addresses LGBT Convention, Uses Profanity, Invokes Selma in Push for More Homosexual Rights

By Tierney Sneed. Addressing a convention of LGBT activists in Washington on Friday, Vice President Joe Biden compared the 1965 demonstrations in Selma for African-American voting rights – the 50th anniversary of which is being commemorated this week – to the ongoing battle for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

“The same basic human rights were at stake when John [Lewis, an African-American civil rights leader who is now a U.S. congressman] led that march over that bridge,” Biden said, referring to the Edmund Pettus Bridge that became the site of a standoff during the Alabama demonstrations. “[Lewis] said last month, you cannot talk about breaking down the barriers between the races without having equality for everybody, including based on gender and sex orientation.”

Biden was the marquee speaker at the Human Rights Campaign’s spring convention in Washington, which gathers LGBT activists from across the country for training and strategy sessions. He went on to compare the Selma demonstrations to the protests prompted by a police raid a few years later at the Stonewall Inn, a popular bar among gay people at the time.

“Although the events of Selma and Stonewall were separate movements, they were in fact the same; they’re in fact the same basic movement,” Biden said. (Read more from “Vice President Joe Biden Addresses LGBT Convention” HERE)

Joe Biden Blasts Ben Carson’s Comments On Homosexuals

By Veronica Stracqualursi. Speaking at a gathering of LGBT rights activists today, Vice President Joe Biden took a swipe at potential Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson for his recent remark that being gay is a choice.

Biden, who has been a longtime advocate for gay rights, called Carson’s comment a “ridiculous assertion.”

“I mean Jesus God. I mean it’s kind of hard to fathom,” Biden told an audience at the Human Rights Campaign spring equality convention in Washington, D.C.

Biden’s comments on Carson got laughs and cheers from the packed room. (Read more from this story HERE)

Black History Biden: Joe Biden Calls for ‘Emancipation’ of People’s Wealth

Vice President Joe Biden used a Black History Month event at his official residence Monday night to decry the rich, both white and black, for stunting economic growth and suggested that “emancipation” is in order.

“A lot of wealthy white and black people aren’t bad but they control 1 percent of the economy and this cannot stand,” Biden told about 100 guests, including past civil rights activists and NBC weatherman Al Roker.

“It’s not fair because the business experts are saying that concentration of wealth is stunting growth. So let’s do something that’s worthy of emancipation,” said Biden, according to a press pool report of the event.

Then, explaining the impact of Civil War era emancipation, Biden concluded, “What happened is not only did we move toward freeing black Americans but also the conscience of white Americans.”

The White House has made income inequality an issue for the last two years of President Obama’s second term in office. (Read more from “Joe Biden Calls for Emancipation of Wealth” HERE)

Officially America’s ‘Creepy Uncle’: Vice President Joe Biden Gropes Yet Another Woman [+video]

By Natalie O’Neill. Vice President Joe Biden took hands-on politics to a creepy new level Tuesday by snuggling new Defense Secretary Ashton Carter’s wife from behind.

In a move straight out of the stalker handbook, Biden appeared to be sniffing Stephanie Carter’s hair at a swearing-in ceremony for her husband in Washington.

Biden, who kept his hands on Mrs. Carter’s shoulders for 10 seconds, looked as if he was whispering sweet nothings into her ear.

Hands folded in front of her, she gazed stiffly in the direction of her husband during the grope. (Read more about America’s ‘creepy uncle’ HERE)

Blast from the Not-So-Distant Past: Joe Biden Acts Like ‘Chester the Molester’ at Swearing in Ceremony

By Janeen Capizola. My sincerest apologies to every female Senator and family member who had to endure the creepy, inappropriate, flirtatious behavior of Vice President Joe Biden at the mock swearing in ceremony in Washington, D.C. My compliments to the men who kept their cool while the vice president salivated over their wives, mothers and daughters.

During the photo session for the swearing in of new senators, Biden was unrelenting in his touchy, feely, kissy, groping of what appears to be every female he came into contact with. Gross. He’s the kind of creeper man women run from at work, family gatherings, or parties.

We all know Biden acts like a buffoon at (most) times, and his “jokes” are never funny . . .

Despite Refusing to Meet With Netanyahu, Biden and Kerry Had No Problem Meeting With This Left-Wing Israeli Politician

US Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry both met informally with Zionist Camp co-leader Isaac Herzog — head of the Labor Party and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief rival in the Israeli elections — on the sidelines of a security conference in Munich, Germany on Saturday

Their discussions reportedly revolved around security matters and the Zionist Camp’s defense strategy.

The meetings were not formally scheduled, and no photographs were immediately issued.

Herzog also met with the EU’s Foreign Affairs Chief Federica Mogherini and German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the sidelines of the conference.

The Biden-Kerry meetings with Herzog came a day after Biden’s office said the vice president would be abroad and would not attend a contentious speech on Iran Netanyahu is set to deliver to Congress on March 3. Netanyahu’s planned address has infuriated the Obama administration, which accused the Israeli leader of breaching protocol as the visit was not coordinated with the White House. Both Kerry and President Barack Obama said last month that they would not meet with Netanyahu during the visit, citing its proximity to the March 17 elections.
