WATCH: McCarthy Praised for Grilling Reporter Until She Admitted There Is Evidence Biden Is in the Wrong

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was met with a round of applause after he grilled a reporter to the point she had no choice but to admit the GOP has evidence President Joe Biden was involved in his son’s shady business dealings.

The Republican pushed back on the Associated Press report Farnoush Amiri after she claimed McCarthy’s impeachment effort against the president has no evidence to back it.

“You know, an impeachment inquiry is not an impeachment,” McCarthy responded, adding, “What an impeachment inquiry is to do is to get answers to questions. Are you concerned about all the stuff that was recently learned?”

McCarthy then listed several instances that could be characterized as possible evidence of wrongdoing by Biden.

Matt Gaetz Will Make His Move Against Kevin McCarthy: Report

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) will make his move against Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday, according to congressional reporter Annie Karni.

Gaetz has been at odds with McCarthy since the January battle for the Speaker’s chair. His group of lawmakers fought against McCarthy in the post, only agreeing to withdraw their opposition after some concessions.

“Gaetz plans to deliver a floor speech laying out a detailed case against McCarthy,” said Karni. “He isn’t expected to call for a motion to vacate, but he is laying the groundwork for a potential move to oust him if things reach that point.”

Kevin McCarthy Threatens Impeachment Inquiry if DOJ Uses Special Counsel to Stonewall House Probe Into Bidens

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy threatened an impeachment inquiry if the Department of Justice used David Weiss’s status as special counsel to thwart a House Oversight Committee investigation.

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the appointment of Weiss as special counsel Friday to investigate allegations surrounding Hunter Biden. Biden pled not guilty to all charges after the plea deal collapsed when United States District Judge Maryellen Noreika rejected both the initial plea deal and a more limited revision July 26.

“The only reason you know of all this information is because we took the majority and we’re holding the administration accountable,” McCarthy told Fox Business host Larry Kudlow. “It is appalling of what we have learned. It is different than what President Biden had told us. He told us he had never talked to his son about any business dealings, that he has never been involved in his family’s business, that they never received any money from China. We now learn while he was vice president the family created 20 shell companies, they did receive more than a million dollars from China and he did call in to the business meetings and he did go to dinners. These dinners were very profitable. They got a new Porsche, they got $3.5 million, but the really most compelling thing here is there is somebody lying.”

The House Oversight Committee released bank records Aug. 9 showing that Hunter Biden received millions of dollars from Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, who was married to Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov until his death in 2019. The House Oversight Committee identified roughly $20 million in payments to the Biden family. GOPers Demand Biden Impeachment After Hunter’s Ex-Biz Partner Reveals Alleged Calls: ‘Must Be Held Accountable’

By New York Post. Some Republicans on Monday demanded House Speaker Kevin McCarthy begin the process to impeach President Biden after The Post revealed a key witness saying first son Hunter Biden frequently put his father on the phone with foreign business associates.

One of Hunter Biden’s closest partners, Devon Archer, is expected to describe the alleged damning calls involving the president at an upcoming hearing of the House Oversight Committee, The Post reported Sunday.

Archer’s explosive anticipated testimony comes on the heels of last week’s release of an FBI informant file that said Hunter and then-Vice President Joe Biden coerced a Ukrainian oligarch to pay $10 million in bribes to dodge a corruption probe.

“House Republicans should initiate impeachment proceedings against President Biden,” Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) flatly told The Post on Monday.

“Joe Biden was trading his personal influence to enrich himself and his family and must be held accountable for selling out America,” said Banks, former chairman of the powerful Republican Study Committee. Hunter Biden’s Gallery Sold His Art to a Democratic Donor ‘Friend’ Who Joe Biden Named to a Prestigious Commission

By Business Insider. On the campaign trail, President Joe Biden pledged that there would be an “absolute wall” between his official duties and his family’s private business interests. The Biden White House repeatedly made reference to that wall when responding to questions about the fledgling art career of Hunter Biden, the president’s son. In 2021, when a New York art gallery debuted Hunter Biden’s paintings with asking prices as high as $500,000, the White House said that Hunter Biden’s team had a process for carefully vetting buyers, and that their identities were known only to the gallery, and not to Hunter Biden himself. The messaging seemed to suggest that Hunter Biden’s art patrons came from a rarified universe of collectors who had nothing to do with the hurly burly of politics.

Neither of those things has turned out to be the case. Hunter Biden did in fact learn the identity of two buyers, according to three people directly familiar with Hunter Biden’s own account of his art career. And one of those buyers is indeed someone who got a favor from the Biden White House. The timing of their purchase, however, is unknown.

That buyer, Insider can reveal, is Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a Los Angeles real estate investor and philanthropist. Hirsh Naftali is influential in California Democratic circles and is a significant Democratic donor who has given $13,414 to the Biden campaign and $29,700 to the Democratic National Campaign Committee this year. In 2022, she hosted a fundraiser headlined by Vice President Kamala Harris. . .

In July 2022, eight months after Hunter Biden’s first art opening, Joe Biden announced Hirsh Naftali’s appointment to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. It is unclear whether Hirsh’s purchase of Hunter Biden’s artwork occurred before or after that appointment. Membership on the commission is an unpaid position that is often filled by campaign donors, family members, and political allies — the same crowd that often winds up with US ambassadorial appointments. Hirsh Naftali’s fundraising activities mark her as the kind of well-connected donor who often wins such appointments, regardless of any relationship they might have with the president’s family. But they do not address the possibility that Hunter Biden might have voiced his support for her appointment. McCarthy Forecasts Garland Impeachment Inquiry if Whistleblower Allegations True

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Sunday signaled that an impeachment inquiry of Attorney General Merrick Garland would be imminent if whistleblower allegations that U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware David Weiss wanted to appoint a special counsel in the Department of Justice’s Hunter Biden probe are true.

McCarthy retweeted allegations made by the whistleblower, IRS Criminal Supervisory Special Agent Gary A. Shapley Jr, noting if his allegations are true, “this will be a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry into Merrick Garland’s weaponization of DOJ.”

His retweet included a post from Washington Examiner Chief Correspondent Byron York, who noted that Shapley alleged Weiss wanted charges against Biden to be brought in Washington, DC. Band of House Republicans Stand Against Debt Ceiling Deal

As many as 20 House Republicans oppose the deal hashed out between the White House and Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to avoid a U.S. debt default.

Leading the GOP charge against the compromise, which would suspend the debt limit until January 2025 in exchange for various restraints on spending, was the conservative House Freedom Caucus, which views the agreement as being too watered down. Their opposition, if it holds, means a bipartisan vote will be necessary for passage as Republicans hold a narrow majority in the lower chamber.

“This deal fails, fails completely,” Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, said at a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday. “We will do everything in our power to stop it and end it now,” he also said.

“Not one Republican should vote for this deal,” said Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), another member of the group. “No one sent us here to borrow an additional $4 trillion to get absolutely nothing in return,” he added.

McCarthy Threatened With GOP Rebellion Over Rumored Debt-Limit Deal With Biden

House Republicans left Washington on Thursday without a deal on the debt limit and with a brewing revolt against Speaker Kevin McCarthy because of a rumored compromise with President Biden.

Ultra-conservative lawmakers are up in arms over alleged details of a compromise that leaked out of the negotiations. Rep. Tim Burchett shared with fellow members of the House Freedom Caucus a document purporting to detail a list of spending compromises agreed to by negotiators.

“We’ve heard rumors that there may be some sort of a deal that would be less than desirable to a majority of Republicans,” said Rep. Bob Good, Virginia Republican.

Mr. McCarthy’s negotiating team said the document was not authentic. They said nothing has been agreed to yet.

The document outlines a potential deal to lift the debt ceiling until after the 2024 election while clawing back unspent coronavirus relief. It also incentivizes congressional leaders to start negotiating budget cuts through appropriations. The size of the cuts and the fate of expanded work requirements are still being negotiated. Yellen Sends New Warning Letter About Default…to the Wrong Person

Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen sent yet another letter to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Monday afternoon, again warning that the United States is growing ever closer to defaulting on its debt unless a bill is passed by Congress and signed by President Joe Biden to increase the nation’s debt limit.

Notably, Yellen continues sending these letters to McCarthy — the man who, along with House Republicans, already passed a bill that would raise the debt ceiling and avoid default — while failing to dispatch similarly snide letters to President Biden or Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Perhaps a letter could have been sent to Biden scolding him for spending more than two months earlier this spring ignoring requests to negotiate from McCarthy as a default loomed? Or a letter to Leader Schumer asking why he and Democrats in the upper chamber didn’t put together any sort of a plan to avoid default?

Nope, all Yellen’s warnings go to Speaker McCarthy who clearly outpaced and outmaneuvered D.C. Democrats and partisan pundits by doing what many believed wouldn’t happen: passing a bill with only GOP support to avoid a default, raise the debt ceiling, and cap discretionary spending at FY 2022 levels that Democrats previously bragged about setting. In doing so, McCarthy forced Biden to negotiate as he realized he was losing the narrative.

In any case, Yellen ratcheted up the pressure with her latest missive to McCarthy by saying her department estimates “that it is highly likely that Treasury will no longer be able to satisfy all of the government’s obligations if Congress has not acted to raise or suspend the debt limit by early June, and potentially as early as June 1.”

White House Claims GOP Debt Plan Will Give Kids Asthma and ‘Literally Melt Bones’ (VIDEO)

As President Biden refuses to negotiate with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to raise the debt ceiling, the White House seems to have decided to relegate Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to bargaining duty, and she did not ease off the hyperbole (read: false claims) she’s known for.

According to Jean-Pierre in Friday’s White House press briefing, Biden’s new executive order to make “climate justice” — another meaningless buzzword that attempts to put a shiny green veneer on Marxist policies — the “DNA” of his administration and a priority for every agency is a stark contrast with the GOP debt ceiling plan that includes a repeal of Democrats’ falsely named “Inflation Reduction Act.”

With a White House slide behind her to show just how very, very real her “facts” are, Jean-Pierre claimed that, “while President Biden is fighting to clean up toxic pollution and lower costs through [the] Clean Energy Tax Credit, Speaker McCarthy unveiled a ransom notes holding our economy hostage.”

She continued by slamming the GOP plan to raise the debt ceiling and avoid default while rolling spending back to 2022 levels as “a 320-page plan to kill jobs, fill our cities with smog, and give asthma to our children.” She must have forgotten to mention that it’s also 320 pages more than Biden’s non-existent counter offer.

Jean-Pierre continued, saying “the proposal would repeal the Inflation Reduction Act’s Green Energy Tax Credit, sending thousands of jobs back to China [and] it would make it easier for oil companies to use toxic chemicals that cause severe burns, damage people’s eyes, and quite literally melt bones.” How measured. McCarthy Vows Full Release of Jan. 6 Footage

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Breitbart News on Wednesday that he intends to fully release to the public the tens of thousands of hours of U.S. Capitol surveillance footage from January 6, 2021.

McCarthy’s comments came during a wide-ranging hourlong on-camera interview in the ceremonial U.S. House speaker’s office in his first sit-down interview since Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired on his program some never-before-seen clips of such surveillance footage earlier this week.

“Yeah,” McCarthy said when asked if the tapes will be fully released to the public.

“We just want to make sure we go through them all, and it takes time,” he continued. “The first thing that Tucker said too, he didn’t want to show any exits to cause any problems. We asked the Capitol Police, ‘Were there any concerns?’ They came back with one, and we mitigated that, but it was interesting, that one that they had a problem with, Eric Swalwell had had up on the internet for the last two years showing that part.” (Read more from “McCarthy Vows Full Release of Jan. 6 Footage” HERE)
