400-Strong Migrant Caravan From Mexico Headed for US Border

A 400-strong caravan of immigrants is making its way through Mexico toward the US, even as Mexican National Guard troops continue trying to thwart border-bound migrants.

The massive group, which left from the southern city of Tapachula on Saturday, began its northward trek after Mexican forces broke up at least two other caravans in the past week.

The new caravan is made up largely of Central Americans and Haitians who told authorities they are fleeing poverty and violence in their home countries — and seeking refuge in the US.

“I’ve handed in paperwork but nothing ever gets fixed,” one 31-year-old Honduran migrant, Sharon, told Reuters. “Just appointments and more appointments.”

She added, “I am scared, but if I don’t get out of here I’m not going to get work.” (Read more from “400-Strong Migrant Caravan From Mexico Headed for US Border” HERE)

Democrat Plan Spends $870M for Border Security in Middle East, No Funding for U.S. Border Wall

A Democrat budget plan spends hundreds of millions of American taxpayer money on border security for a multitude of Middle Eastern countries while stripping all funds for construction of a border wall at the United States-Mexico border.

On Tuesday, the Democrat-controlled House Appropriations Committee released their Department of Defense funding bill that includes $870 million in taxpayer money for “border security” measures in foreign countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman.

Of that funding, $150 million will go to Jordan to help “enhanced border security.” Likewise, the budget allocates $500 million to be used “to provide assistance to the government of Jordan to support the armed forces of Jordan and to enhance security along its borders.” (Read more from “Democrat Plan Spends $870M for Border Security in Middle East, No Funding for U.S. Border Wall” HERE)

Report: Travel Aides for Kamala Harris Resign Ahead of Border Visit

Two travel aides to Vice President Kamala Harris have resigned from their positions just one day before she travels to the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a report from the New York Times.

Sources close to the matter told the Times that Harris’s director of advance Karly Satkowiak and deputy director of advance Gabrielle DeFranceschi informed Harris’s office that they would be leaving within the coming weeks.

According to Harris’s team, the resignations were expected and Satkowiak and DeFranceschi are working on finding replacements for their roles. The Times also noted that Harris’s travel team is seemingly shorthanded and efforts to fill gaps with advance associates within the team have been in the works since before she traveled to Central America. Florida Governor To Send Officers to Southern Border

Florida will send its own law enforcement officers to the U.S.-Mexico border to assist federal, state, and local police responding to the border crisis in Arizona and Texas, where the governors have asked every other state to send in reinforcements.

“We are the first state to commit support for this effort in response to the request that was submitted by the governors of Texas and Arizona, and we’re proud to lead, yet again, on issues that matter to Floridians,” Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday afternoon.

Officers from the Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, and Walton County Sheriff’s Office will head roughly 1,000 miles west to the southern border. The Florida Division of Emergency Management will oversee the deployments.

“You have a governor who is saying we’ll step up to protect Floridians. This is what real leadership looks like. Leadership is not sending someone down there to beg people not to come,” Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said at the press conference, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris’s previous statements telling migrants not to travel to the border. Ann Coulter: Our Broken Border, Not Iran, Kills 30,000 Americans Every Year

“Iranians are no threat to America in this country,” said Ann Coulter during a Wednesday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour and special guest host John Hayward, adding a warning of “30,000 Americans dying on American soil every year because of our neighbor to the south.”

Mansour invited Coulter’s ranking of national security threats in the context of recent developments in Iran and Iraq, asking which country poses the greatest danger to America.

Thirty thousand Americans die every year as a result of border insecurity, stated Coulter, pointing to drug overdoses via substances smuggled across the southern border, fatal drunk driving accidents caused by illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. via Mexico, and Mexican drug cartel gang killings.

Coulter said, “I’m thinking national security must have something to do with keeping Americans alive, and yeah, that award would go to Mexico. On my very, very, very conservative estimate of heroin deaths, fentanyl deaths, methamphetamine deaths — of the heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine coming [and] being brought to us by our neighbor on the south, Mexico — drunk driving accidents — again, very, very conservative estimate of how many deaths are attributable to drunk driving by Hispanics, either Mexicans themselves or those who have had safe passage through Mexico to our southern border and into our country — and throw in the handful of gang killings, of Los Zetas, of the cartel killings, the occasional mass murder by Mexicans, and you get to 30,000 Americans dying on American soil every year because of our neighbor to the south.”

Report: Trump Administration to Seize Private Land for Border Wall

The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to submit court filings to take over private land on the U.S.-Mexico border, allowing border wall construction to move forward.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner met with administration and military officials Friday. He discussed government takeover of private land along the Texas border, according to a report by NBC. Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite, the commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was reportedly in attendance, along with Robert Salesses and Kenneth Rapuano, both of whom serve as assistant secretaries for homeland defense.

Lawyers for the Department of Defense and the Justice Department have prepared rights of entry letters, which will inform affected land owners that the U.S. government will be entering their property to asses the area, which will include soil testing and land surveys.

In most domain cases, the government settles on a specific amount of money before it takes over land, but the administration has not yet confirmed how much it will compensate landowners, according to sources who spoke with NBC. However, the White House could file under the Declaration of Taking Act, a move that would likely hasten the time it takes for the government to buy border land.

A group of Texas landowners who oppose border wall construction are fighting the Trump administration in court over the issue. (Read more from “Report: Trump Administration to Seize Private Land for Border Wall” HERE)

Do Not Forget the Sheriff’s Deputy Also Killed by Mexican Cartels – on U.S. Soil

As Americans are finally realizing the danger of the Mexican cartels in light of the brutal murder of an American family 50 miles from our border, we should not forget that a California sheriff’s deputy was essentially killed by the cartels on our own soil. The murder of Brian Ishmael horribly shows that the cartels are not a Mexico problem, but a problem right here at home, caused by our failed border strategy, sanctuary cities, and the drug crisis. That few lawmakers have even heard of Brian Ishmael speaks volumes about the misplaced national security focus among the foreign policy elite.

El Dorado County is a beautiful, rural part of California in the heart of wine country. But thanks to a lack of border security, sanctuary state status, and recent pro-drug policies, this county is now a primary growing site for the Mexican cartels. Their contractors come in through our own border and are harbored by the pro-illegal alien policies of California.

“First I want to make something clear, and I ask that you, the media, please call this what this is … don’t soften it,” said El Dorado County Sheriff John D’Agostini at a press conference on Thursday. “This tragedy was due to an illegal alien, tending an illegal marijuana garden, who murdered my deputy. That’s what it is.”

The sheriff was referring to the October 23 murder of Deputy Brian Ishmael, who was allegedly ambushed by Juan Carlos Vasquez, who was guarding a marijuana growing site for traffickers back in Mexico. Four men were arrested in connection with the murder, and two of them are illegal aliens. One other suspect, Jorge Lamas, said he was being paid $150 a day by someone in Mexico to supervise the growing site.

Remember, we were told that legalizing marijuana would put the cartels out of business. Yet legalization, mixed with illegal immigration and sanctuary cities, is creating the worst outcome of all – not only are the cartels still in business, they are now growing their poison on our own soil and guarding it with armed men they easily get over the border and ensure are protected by California’s illegal policies.

Christopher Ross, Juan Carlos Vasquez, Ramiro Morales, and Jorge Lamas have all been indicted in connection with the marijuana growing site where Deputy Ishmael was murdered. Ross was the owner of the property, who originally called the police claiming someone was stealing from his “legal” growing site. What he didn’t say was that it was an illegal growing site being worked by Mexican nationals for the cartels. One of them, Juan Vazquez, allegedly opened fire on Ishmael when he arrived, fatally striking him in the chest.

“When Ross called into 911, he said he had a legal marijuana operation,” said U.S. attorney McGregor Scott at the press conference when announcing the indictments yesterday. “Well guess what, it wasn’t a legal marijuana operation. So, the fig leaf of legalization gives cover for those who operate in the black market to do their business.”

But how do cartels so successfully peddle their business here? It’s all through illegal immigration. “If you allow criminally minded illegal aliens to infiltrate our communities with more protections than our average citizens, they will take advantage of that and victimize our communities,” said Sheriff D’Agostini angrily.

The 22-year-old Ramiro Morales and 20-year-old Juan Carlos Vasquez are illegal aliens from Mexico. Vasquez was charged with murder, while Morales was charged with being an accessory after the fact to Ishmael’s murder. Morales reportedly entered the country illegally about six months ago, during the height of the Central American wave.

As the sheriff noted, thanks to the sanctuary policies, he couldn’t even get federal authorities into the jail to confirm their immigration status when he suspected they were illegal aliens. This is how so many murders get reported as domestic crimes when they are really tied to the Mexican cartels. If not for the fact that this occurred in a more conservative part of the state with a sheriff who opposes this policy, the immigration status might never have been publicized.

Morales came over the border just six months ago. The media would like you to see lovely “future Americans” for whom we should pay health care and education. Yet so many murders in this country are caused by illegal aliens but are never traced back to the border.

President Trump must demand that sanctuaries be punished in the budget bill and stake out the election on this issue. Sanctuaries are so toxic that even 71 percent of Tucson residents, who voted for Hillary Clinton by a 25-point margin, opposed efforts to thwart ICE deportations. Rather than avoid a fight with Democrats headed into the election, Trump should embrace it. After all, nobody wants to import and protect Mexico’s narco-culture in their communities. If Trump wants to win back suburban voters, this is the issue on which he should go for broke. Want to Fight a War? Fight on Our Border, Not Syria’s

Over 30,000 people will be killed there this year. There are powerful terrorist groups that are defeating government forces, beheading and torturing townsfolk, and controlling every form of human- and drug-smuggling over the border. This is not Syria and the Turkish border. I’m talking about Mexico and our own border.

It is truly astounding how so many of the self-described national security hawks like Mitt Romney, who believe we have blood on our hands for not having troops flung out in Syria during a civil war, never utter a word about the need to deploy troops more aggressively at our own border to combat the cartel terrorists.

The Mexican cartels are defeating the government in major cities. There are battles just south of us; they are shooting at our agents; they have operatives in every U.S. state spreading drugs and gang violence; and they are working with MS-13, which is more of a threat to our communities than anything going on in Syria. Thus, the stability of Mexico matters a lot more to us than the stability of Syria. If Romney, Rubio, and other establishment Republicans, along with Democrat leaders, feel we need several thousand troops at the Turkish border, they should support several hundred thousand troops at our own border, based on a commensurate measure of what actually affects our own security.

Yesterday, Mexican national guardsmen detained Ovidio Guzman López, the son of former Sinaloa Cartel head “El Chapo,” in the city of Culiacán. On Thursday afternoon, Sinaloa members dispatched a stronger force of soldiers and weapons than the Mexican government, and the government was forced to release him. They also released his brother, Ivan. This is a failed narco-state right on our border. The cartels are now officially more powerful than Mexico’s military, even when the government is actually trying to combat them. The government has now lost control of a city of 785,000 people.

What’s even more embarrassing is that this failed operation was done at the behest of our government, which had requested Guzman Lopez be extradited to the U.S. for trial, according to Mexico’s president. That is a black eye for our government and something that should concern Mitt Romney a lot more than Syria.

Here is who truly controls Mexico:

Jaeson Jones, retired captain for the Texas Department of Public Safety’s intel and counterterrorism division, has long been a proponent of taking a more aggressive stance against the cartels and believes this is a wake-up call. “Intense violence rocked Culiacan, Mexico, yesterday as government authorities captured leaders of Sinaloa Cartel,” said the cartel expert, who just took a trip to Mexico to meet with sources. “Only hours later, the president of Mexico would cower and show the world the Mexican government was not in charge of the safety of its country. For years, I have tried to convince our citizens and government how hyper-violent the Mexican cartels have become and why we must designate the Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Yesterday, the world witnessed it; the question now is will the U.S. State Dept. still refuse to take action?”

The cartel members are also very heavily armed.

“We observed .50 cal belt-fed machine guns mounted in armored vehicles, Barrett .50 cal sniper rifles engaging Mexican authorities, convoys of armored vehicles being called into the city along with the use of hand grenades and 40 millimeter grenades,” observed Jones. “They also released prisoners, implemented roadblocks, and a day later, the city is still on fire. Yesterday’s events showed a president cower and a nation kneel. These are not just drug cartels any more.”

It’s truly shocking how nobody in either party in Congress who is ready to die on the hill of the Syrian civil war even utters a peep about the fall of our number one trading partner, which happens to be right on our own border.

You might think this is just a Mexican problem. The issue is that the increasing violence every month is going to impel a new wave of Mexican migration to our border. After steep declines in Mexican illegal immigration for the past decade while the Central Americans began coming, we are now coming full circle and witnessing the early stages of increased Mexican border migration, thanks to the cartel violence.

The Washington Post reports today that there is a new increase in Mexicans asking for asylum at our border. Mexican adults caught at the border have increased 25 percent since the end of July, even as the number of Central Americans has dropped sharply. “In recent weeks, thousands of Mexican adults and children have been camping out in queues at U.S. border crossings, sleeping in tents while awaiting a chance to apply for safe refuge.”

One agent who patrols in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas told me he is already seeing this new trend on the ground. “They are coming from Mexico with an ‘official document’ that has been notarized, which describes their harsh living conditions and threats to safety from the cartels,” said the agent, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he’s not authorized to speak to the media.

Again, it’s truly astounding how nobody in Congress, the State Department, or the DOD wants to view our own border as a national security problem because it’s not located in the Middle East. It seems like our military only exists for nonexistent borders of other groups around the world. (For more from the author of “Want to Fight a War? Outrage Over U.S. Citizen Being Detained for Weeks by Border Patrol, Then the TRUTH Comes Out

By Daily Wire. In a story that’s sparked outrage — including from one of the leaders of the #AbolishICE contingent of the Democratic Party, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) — a young man who appears to be a U.S. citizen was detained for three weeks by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) after crossing the border with his younger brother, who is a Mexican citizen. But as more details have emerged, the reason CBP has delayed in releasing the young man has begun to make a lot more sense. . .

The Dallas Morning News article tweeted out by Ocasio-Cortez reports that Francisco Erwin Galicia, an 18-year-old whose birth certificate says he was born in Dallas, has been in CBP custody for more than three weeks after being detained at a border patrol checkpoint on June 27 along with his younger brother, who is a Mexican citizen, and a group of friends. The group was stopped because Marlon is a Mexican citizen. . .

The Washington Post has since done some more digging and uncovered details about the case which help explain why CBP has delayed in releasing the young man: Francisco’s mother, a Mexican citizen living in Edinburg illegally, listed her son on a U.S. tourist visa as being born in Mexico. She also falsified information on his birth certificate.

“The reason it appears to have taken CBP and ICE so long to determine Galicia’s citizenship is because his mother, who is not a citizen, took out a U.S. tourist visa in his name while he was still a minor, falsely saying he was born in Mexico, Galan said,” the Post reports. “His mother, Sanjuana, told The Post that CBP discovered the visa after fingerprinting her son. The conflicting documents only fueled the agency’s suspicion that Galicia’s U.S. documents were fake, Galan said.”

Sanjuana told the Post that she took out the falsified tourist visa for her son so he could travel back and forth across the border to visit family. The reason she couldn’t get him a passport, she explained, is that she entered a fictitious name for herself on his birth certificate. “The undocumented mother was unable to get him a U.S. passport because when Galicia was born, Galan said, she gave a different name for herself on his birth certificate,” the Post reports. “U.S. Citizen” Released From Immigration Custody

By AP News. A … 18-year-old was released from immigration custody Tuesday after wrongfully being detained for more than three weeks.

Francisco Erwin Galicia left a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Pearsall, Texas, on Tuesday. His lawyer, Claudia Galan, confirmed he had been released, less than a day after The Dallas Morning News’ reporting about his case drew national attention.

ICE did not immediately comment. Nor did U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which oversees the Border Patrol, the agency that first detained Galicia. (Read more from “U.S. Citizen” Released From Immigration Custody” HERE)

Federal Judge Hands down Defeat for Democrats Trying to Stop Funding for the Border Wall

By The Blaze. A federal judge handed down a decision that was a defeat for Democrats attempting to block the funding re-direction towards construction of President Donald Trump’s border wall.

Democrats were upset that the president called a national emergency on the U.S.-Mexico border and then ordered funds to come from the military in order to work around the will of Congress. . .

Judge Trevor McFadden disagreed with the Democrats and sided with the Trump administration.

“This is a case about whether one chamber of Congress has the ‘constitutional means’ to conscript the Judiciary in a political turf war with the President over the implementation of legislation,” said McFadden in the judgement. “[W]hile the Constitution bestows upon Members of the House many powers, it does not grant them standing to hale the Executive Branch into court claiming a dilution of Congress’s legislative authority. Judge Rejects Democrats’ Effort to Block Trump’s Border Emergency

By AXIOS. Context: Per the judge’s opinion, the House was attempting to block the administration “from spending certain funds to build a wall along our southern border. The House argues that this expenditure would violate the Appropriations Clause of the Constitution 2 and usurp Congress’s authority. This harm, the House suggests, constitutes an ‘institutional injury’ supporting Article III standing.”

The administration, meanwhile, argued that the court cannot intervene “because the Constitution grants the House no standing to litigate these claims.”

The judge sided with the administration, adding: “To be clear, the Court does not imply that Congress may never sue the Executive to protect its powers.” But he argues that House Democrats do not, in this case, overcome the constitutional burden to establish they have standing in this lawsuit.
