The Trump administration is widening a federal freeze on child care funding beyond Minnesota as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) ramps up a nationwide review aimed at rooting out fraud.

Deputy HHS Secretary Jim O’Neill announced Tuesday that the agency froze all federal child care payments to Minnesota as officials investigate allegations of widespread fraud in the state’s subsidy system. The funding freeze will extend to other states as federal officials review how taxpayer dollars are used, according to multiple reports.

“HHS has a clear duty to verify the proper use of taxpayer funds,” spokesman Andrew Nixon said in a statement, as reported by the New York Post. “The documentation process exists to rule out fraud and confirm that funds are supporting legitimate child care providers.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz pushed back after the Trump administration moved to freeze federal child care funding in the state, accusing the White House of using fraud concerns to justify the action.

“This is Trump’s long game. We’ve spent years cracking down on fraudsters. It’s a serious issue – but this has been his plan all along. He’s politicizing the issue to defund programs that help Minnesotans,” Walz wrote.

Resurfaced Video Shows How Somali Scammers Used Day Care Centers To Rip Off State

A resurfaced 2018 video from a Minneapolis-area TV station shows how Somali scammers allegedly bilked Minnesota out of millions of dollars for services that they never provided.

Independent journalist Nick Shirley touched off a storm on social media Friday after he posted a photo of one day-care center, which displayed a banner calling it “Quality Learing Center” on X, along with a 42-minute video that went viral showing him visiting that and other day-care centers. The surveillance video, which aired on Fox 9 in 2018 after being taken in 2015, showed parents taking kids into the center, then leaving with them minutes later, according to Fox News.

“They were billing too much, they went up to high,” Hennepin County attorney Mike Freeman told Fox 9 in 2018. “It’s hard to imagine they were serving that many people. Frankly if you’re going to cheat, cheat little, because if you cheat big, you’re going to get caught.”

Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota was accused of engaging in “systemic” retaliation against whistleblowers in a Nov. 30 statement by state employees. Assistant United States Attorney Joe Thompson announced on Dec. 18 that the amount of suspected fraud in Minnesota’s Medicaid program had reached over $9 billion.

After Shirley’s video went viral, FBI Director Kash Patel announced the agency was already sending additional resources in a Sunday post on X, citing the case surrounding Feeding Our Future, which at one point accused the Minnesota government of racism during litigation over the suspension of funds after earlier allegations of fraud. Kash Patel: Minnesota Fraud Scheme a ‘Top FBI Priority’

By Breitbart. FBI Director Kash Patel recognized the ongoing fraud scandal unfolding in Minnesota involving childcare centers, adding that it has been part of a lengthy investigation and will remain a top priority.

As Breitbart News reported, a video from YouTube journalist Nick Shirley went viral over the weekend after he confronted an employee at an alleged learning center in Minnesota that was receiving millions in aid despite showing no signs of operational activity.

In a post on X, Kash Patel said the FBI has been investigating the situation.

“The FBI is aware of recent social media reports in Minnesota. However, even before the public conversation escalated online, the FBI had surged personnel and investigative resources to Minnesota to dismantle large-scale fraud schemes exploiting federal programs. Fraud that steals from taxpayers and robs vulnerable children will remain a top FBI priority in Minnesota and nationwide,” he said.

Patel then noted that the FBI “dismantled a $250 million fraud scheme that stole federal food aid meant for vulnerable children during COVID.”

YouTuber Nick Shirley Exposes Alleged Somali Daycare Center Which Reportedly Reaped $4,000,000 From Taxpayers

By Daily Caller. YouTuber Nick Shirley posted video Friday showing multiple purported Somali-run day care centers in Minnesota, including one which reportedly received $4 million in taxpayer funds, which did not immediately appear to have any children there.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced the FBI would surge additional agents to Minnesota to investigate allegations of fraud raised on social media, including by Shirley. Shirley, for example, posted a photo of one purported day care center, which displayed a banner identifying it as “The Greater Learing [sic] Center.”

“We uncovered over $110,000,000 in ONE day,” Shirley claimed in a viral X post Friday. “Like it and share it around like wildfire! [It’s] time to hold these corrupt politicians and fraudsters accountable!”

The accompanying 42-minute video shows Shirley attempting to visit multiple centers that reportedly received state funds, in many cases not finding children. Likewise, KSTP reported that the Quality Learing Center had 95 citations for violations from one Minnesota agency from 2019 to 2023.

13-Year-Old Arrested at School With 1,500 Suspected Fentanyl Pills

On December 11, a seventh-grader at Horizon Middle School in Moorhead, Minnesota, was detained after another student reported a large bag of fentanyl pills around noon, according to local police.

School Resource Officer Jessica Horn detained the student and seized the pills.

Approximately 1,500 pills were allegedly in the student’s possession. The juvenile, age 13, was arrested for 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to the West Central Juvenile Detention Center. His parents were notified.

Field tests confirmed the counterfeit M30 pills likely contained fentanyl, with lab results pending; the boy faces first-degree possession charges and was taken to juvenile detention.

Police Chief Helmick said “We commend the students who came forward — your actions helped protect others. Report Highlights High Welfare Usage Among Somali Refugee Households in Minnesota

Newly compiled figures from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) show that the overwhelming majority of Somali refugee–headed households in Minnesota rely on at least one form of public assistance, underscoring a significant gap between refugee families and native-born residents.

The analysis draws on a decade’s worth of Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) data. According to CIS, 81 percent of Minnesota households led by Somali refugees utilize one or more public welfare programs. This includes 27 percent receiving cash assistance, 54 percent using food stamps, and roughly 73 percent enrolled in Medicaid.

By comparison, just 21 percent of native-born Minnesotan households participate in any welfare program, with far lower rates for each category — 6 percent receiving cash aid, 7 percent using food stamps, and 18 percent enrolled in Medicaid.

The numbers rise further for Somali-headed households raising children. The ACS data indicates that about 89 percent of these families depend on at least one safety-net program. Medicaid enrollment alone reaches 86 percent, while 62 percent receive food stamps and 23 percent rely on cash assistance.

“Nearly every Somali household with children receives some form of welfare,” CIS researcher Jason Richwine noted in his analysis.

Meanwhile, among native Minnesotan families with children, only about 30 percent use any form of welfare — with 6 percent on cash aid, 10 percent using food stamps, and 28 percent covered by Medicaid.

The disparities extend beyond public benefit usage. According to the same data, more than 66 percent of Somali refugees in the state live in or near poverty. In contrast, fewer than 20 percent of native-born Minnesotans fall into that category.

Language proficiency also remains a major hurdle. While virtually all native-born Minnesotans report speaking English “very well,” nearly 60 percent of Somali refugees say they do not — including many who have lived in the state for over a decade.

Educational differences add another layer. Only 5 percent of native Minnesotans lack a high school diploma, compared to almost 40 percent of Somali refugees. More than a quarter of Somali adults who have been in Minnesota for at least 10 years still report not having completed high school.

Minnesota is now home to nearly 80,000 people of Somali ancestry, despite having virtually none in 1990. The state hosts one of the largest Somali diaspora communities in the United States, a population that has grown quickly due to refugee resettlement over the past three decades.

Whistleblower Claims Somalians Committed Mass Medicaid Fraud In Maine

A Somali-owned company may have defrauded Maine in a manner similar to schemes that ripped off at least $1 billion from Minnesota, a whistleblower told NewsNation Monday.

Christopher Bernardini, a former “billing guru” at Gateway Community Services, said that the company falsified documents to obtain payment from Maine’s Medicaid program for services to low-income and disabled clients, NewsNation reported. Abdullahi Ali, the owner of the company, reportedly ran for office in Jubaland, a region of Somalia, and boasted about funding a militia there, according to The Maine Wire.

“I have a passion for helping people and I thought that we were doing the right thing this whole time,” Bernardini told NewsNation, later adding, “When I had clients calling me to tell me their staff hadn’t shown up and I was told to bill those hours anyway. It just got worse and worse until I started really putting up a stink.”

Bernardini told NewsNation that an electronic monitoring system intended to track field staff was manipulated to make it appear the clients were visited when staff actually failed to show up.

What the MN Dem Assassin Suspect Wrote to the FBI Is Wild…and It Involves Tim Walz

Vance Boelter is in custody, accused of shooting two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers. State Rep. Melissa Hortman, State Sen. John Hoffman, and their spouses were shot in the early morning hours of June 14. Hoffman and his wife survived the attack; Hortman and her husband did not. It’s an incident that Democrats tried to manufacture an attack against Trump and the GOP, claiming that the heated rhetoric led to this incident.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) even tried to cast Boelter as a crazed right-winger. That narrative quickly fell apart due to a lack of evidence. Also, left-wingers are the ones driving today’s political violence—evidence to that effect is overwhelming. Yet, this recent letter Boelter wrote to the FBI shed some light on this man’s mindset; to the shock of no one, it’s deranged. Suppose the latex mask and fake police uniform he donned when committing these attacks weren’t evidence enough to this man’s whacked psyche. In that case, this letter should do the trick: he claimed that Tim Walz ordered him to assassinate Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), so that he could run for her seat. He also said he was trained by the military off the books (via Star Tribune):

In a rambling, conspiratorial letter addressed to the FBI, alleged assassin Vance Boelter claimed Gov. Tim Walz instructed him to kill U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar so that Walz could run for the U.S. Senate, according to two people familiar with the contents of the letter.

The letter is the clearest evidence yet of Boelter’s mindset after the targeted violence against Minnesota politicians last week. It is incoherent, one and a half pages long, confusing and hard to read, according to two people familiar with the letter’s contents. It includes Boelter alleging he had been trained by the U.S. military off the books, and that Walz, who is not running for Senate, had asked him to kill Klobuchar and others.

Asked to comment about the letter, Hennepin County Attorney spokesperson Daniel Borgertpoepping said the office cannot comment on an open investigation but “due to the seriousness of the allegations it contains, we will state only that we have seen no evidence that the allegations regarding Governor Walz are based in fact.”

Walz’s spokesman, Teddy Tschann, said in a statement Friday afternoon that “this tragedy continues to be deeply disturbing for all Minnesotans.”

A Minnesota dad who ranted against President-elect Donald Trump online shot and killed his wife, ex-partner, and his two sons before turning the gun on himself, according to authorities.

The shooter, 46-year-old Anthony Nephew, had a “pattern of mental health issues,” Duluth Police Chief Mike Ceynowa said on Friday — one day after authorities found five people dead inside two homes in the city. . .

Before his rampage, Anthony Nephew had been sharing left-wing and anti-Trump posts on his Facebook account.

“My mental health and the world can no longer peacefully coexist, and a lot of the reason is religion,” Anthony Nephew wrote in July. . .

“Gilead here we come,” he wrote, referencing “The Handmaid’s Tale,” a dystopian novel turned Hulu series in which women, who have been stripped of their rights, are forced to reproduce for the ruling class.

Anthony Nephew shared other political posts, including an image of former president Barack Obama, Trump, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The word “hate” sits under Trump’s face, while the words “hope,” “heal” and “grow” correspond with the Democratic politicians. Wife of Slain Cop Warned Tim Walz To Stay away From Funeral — Or She’d ‘Escort His Ass Out of Here’

The widow of a sheriff’s deputy who was gunned down in the line of duty warned Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz he was not welcome at the funeral because of his treatment of cops — threatening to kick his “ass out” if he dared to show up.

Shannon Owen told Kamala Harris’ running mate that he was not welcome at the services for her husband, Josh Owen, an Iraq veteran and Pope County sheriff’s deputy who was shot and killed while working on his 44th birthday in April 2023.

“You have never been a supporter of the police and I’d just appreciate it if you just don’t come anywhere near my town,” she warned Walz in a recording obtained by the Telegraph.

“And he’s like, ‘Why is that?’ And I said, ‘Because you defunded the police. You don’t even support the police, why would I want you to come?’” the widow said, stressing that her husband “did not like him at all.”

By The Blaze. Following weeks of speculation, Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Tuesday that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be her 2024 running mate, creating the most radically left presidential ticket in modern history. . .

Tuesday’s pick surprised many political analysts, who viewed Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as the likely candidate to run alongside Harris. While governor of a key battleground state, Shapiro’s Jewish heritage and prior support for Israel prompted America’s corrupt media to speculate that his presence on the 2024 ticket would discourage the antisemitic wing of the Democrat Party from voting in the November contest.

Much like their bid to sanitize Harris’ extreme record, left-wing activists masquerading as journalists will undoubtedly work to whitewash Walz’s radical tenure as Minnesota’s governor.

In 2020, Walz reportedly delayed sending the National Guard to Minneapolis to stop riots that broke out in response to the death of George Floyd. According to the Star Tribune, “dozens of buildings had been looted and torched” by the time Walz’s government deployed the Guard to quell the violence.

Kamala Chooses an Old Riot-Loving, Stolen-Valor Extremist for VP

Kamala, a 2024 candidate who wasn’t chosen by the American people, has just teamed up with Tim Walz, a pro-George Floyd “Summer of Love” riot supporter, as her VP. But that could be the least of Kamala’s worries. Mr. Walz boasts a resume full of failures that should complement Kamala’s lackluster credentials perfectly. Tim was not only a big Saint George Floyd fan, he was also Nancy Pelosi’s dutiful sidekick, and is a pro-trans ghoul who wants to mutilate kids. In other words, Mr. Walz is even more extreme than Kamala. This is the political team from hell, that will absolutely sink the United States of America if they get anywhere near the White House. . .

Tim Walz is eager to usher in the “socialism” that the Dems have been pushing for decades. If he and Kamala make it into the White House, you can bet they’ll implement a fresh new Marxist agenda that will make old-school commies blush.
