Controversial Olympian Insists National Anthem Is ‘Disrespectful’ to Black Americans (VIDEO)

Olympic athlete Gwen Berry, who on Saturday turned away from the US flag during the national anthem, doubled down on her controversial protest Monday — insisting the anthem is “disrespectful” to black Americans.

“If you know your history, you know the full song of the national anthem. The third paragraph speaks to slaves in America — our blood being slain … all over the floor,” Berry, 31, said on Black News Channel.

“It’s disrespectful, and it does not speak for black Americans.”

“It’s obvious,” she added. “There’s no question.”

State Passes Bill Requiring National Anthem To Be Played At Sporting Events

The Wisconsin State Assembly passed a bill Tuesday that would require tax-supported venues to play the national anthem in the opening ceremony of sporting events.

“I strongly believe we need to play it, particularly where we’re at now in our country,” bill sponsor Rep. Tony Kurtz said, according to WISN Channel 12.

Kurtz hastened to point out that his bill only applies to venues supported by tax dollars, and he did not want to restrict private organizations such as softball leagues or local youth sports. “I didn’t want to narrow it down. The community can determine,” the Rep. said.

Still, the bill has no penalties or enforcement clause. “I don’t want to make it enforceable. I want people to voluntarily do that,” Kurtz said. (Read more from “State Passes Bill Requiring National Anthem To Be Played At Sporting Events” HERE)

Soccer Fans Boo Players Kneeling During National Anthem (VIDEO)

Soccer fans were heard booing before a game when players kneeled during the national anthem.

FC Dallas and Nashville SC faced off Wednesday night in Frisco, Texas, and were met by a “smattering of boos” from fans when players knelt during the national anthem, according to the Associated Press.

“I think it was absolutely disgusting,” FC Dallas defender Reggie Cannon said after the match. “You’ve got fans booing you for people taking a stand for what they believe in.” . . .

The game marked the first for both teams since Major League Soccer suspended matches in March because of the coronavirus pandemic. Just more than 5,000 fans were allowed in Toyota Stadium Wednesday, but it’s unclear how many booed the kneeling players. Watch: Candidate Snubs National Anthem at Democrat Primary Debate

Kicking off Tuesday’s Democratic primary debate hosted by CNN, presidential candidate Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) refused to hold his hand over his heart during the playing of our national anthem. He was the only candidate on stage to do so.

Democrats have largely supported national anthem protest by famous athletes, such as former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who claims he took a knee to protest rampant racism and police brutality. However, the ex-NFL’er recently worked to have Nike cancel a pair of Revolution Era, Betsy Ross-style American flag shoes, revealing that he actually has an issue with the flag.

Boy in Wheelchair Hears National Anthem, Pulls Himself to His Feet for America

At a Tennessee fair on Saturday night, a 10-year-old boy in a wheelchair stood for the national anthem, Fox News reported Tuesday.

Avery Price, who has hereditary spastic paraplegia syndrome (HSP) and requires braces on both legs, stood to show respect for his country during the national anthem at the Putnam County Fair in Cookeville, Tennessee.

“I usually sit and put my hand on my heart, but last night I decided to stand … because I like to stand for my country,” Price told Fox 17.

Leah Norris, a woman sitting nearby, filmed the moment and shared it on Facebook, calling it “[o]ne of the most touching things I’ve ever seen.”

“You may or may not agree and that’s your choice. But this goes to show that [i]f he can stand for his country, so can you. I’m not sure who this boy or his family is, or if it’ll ever reach them again. But his parents are raising a fine young man,” she wrote. One Perfect Tweet Captures Why Americans Don’t Like National Anthem Protests

With all the rapid-fire controversy surrounding the NFL and the national anthem protests, people might lose sight of why protesting the national anthem is so upsetting to Americans in the first place.

Today, on the anniversary of the D-Day invasion of Normandy during World War II, veteran Navy Seal and New York Times bestselling author Robert J. O’Neill reminded everyone “why we don’t like kneeling.”

The sacrifice of generations of American soldiers of all colors, faiths, and national heritage who died to defend their families and their country is profaned by protesting the national anthem.

And that’s why people get upset. (For more from the author of “One Perfect Tweet Captures Why Americans Don’t Like National Anthem Protests” please click HERE)

Professor Compares National Anthem to Nazi Salute in Viral Tweet

A leftist professor perhaps known best for his comments praising “white genocide” has come out with another doozy: comparing standing for the national anthem to the Nazi salute. . .

On Friday, Ciccariello-Maher shared a Twitter update which featured an old article about a German football club who had been banned for 12 months after failing to give the Nazi salute, and wrote, “*cough* @NFL *cough*.”

According to a Daily KOS article, the original newspaper clipping read:

The Karlsruhe Football Club has been prohibited from playing during 1934 because the team failed to give the Nazi salute when entering the field to play against a French club from Nancy at Metz in December.

The failure of the team to give the salute is alleged to be due to the Frenchmen threatening that they would not play and the Germans would receive no compensation if the salute was given because it was feared that the spectators would riot.
