New York Judge Imposes Gag Order on Trump in Bragg Hush Money Case

New York Judge Juan Merchan has imposed a gag order on former President Trump in the hush-money payments case, granting Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s request.

Merchan issued the order against the 2024 GOP presumptive presidential nominee on Tuesday, pointing to his “prior extrajudicial statements,” saying they establish “a sufficient risk to the administration of justice.”

Merchan ordered that Trump cannot make or direct others to make public statements about witnesses concerning their potential participation, or about counsel in the case — other than Bragg — or about court staff, DA staff or family members of staff.

Merchan also ordered that Trump cannot make or direct others to make public statements about any prospective juror or chosen juror.

Merchan said in his decision that Trump has made statements in the past during other trials — likely referring to the months-long non-jury civil fraud trial stemming from New York Attorney General Letitia James’ case. Donald Trump May Not Pay Bond — And Instead Let Letitia James Seize Trump Tower: Insiders

As Donald Trump faces a Monday deadline to post a $454 million bond in the civil fraud case against him in New York, insiders said he may be weighing a little-discussed option: Doing nothing.

The ex-president reportedly has been struggling to raise the cash for the bond — either from banks or wealthy friends — with his lawyers claiming on Monday that it was a “practical impossibility.”

While some reports have raised speculation that Trump may “go nuclear” with a Chapter 11 filing to protect his prize real estate assets across Manhattan, experts said bankruptcy would create unwelcome complications as the 2024 election season comes to a head.

“He’s been there and done that,” one insider close to Trump said, dismissing the prospect of a Chapter 11 filing.

A third possibility, however, is to let the deadline pass, leaving it to New York Attorney General Letitia James to seize Trump’s bank accounts or buildings — including Trump Tower, from which he declared his 2016 presidential run, and which famously includes his personal penthouse. Getting Pressed: Undercover Video Captures Trump Judge at Health Club

The New York judge who cooperated with AG Letitia James in her war on President Donald Trump, finding him guilty of fraud where there were no victims of any of his business dealings, no one lost any money and, in fact, the banks wanted to do MORE business with him, has been caught on undercover video.

Arthur Engoron complains he’s been getting “hate mail” but says he’s “strong,” in the video from James O’Keefe’s O’Keefe Media Group:

Engoron repeatedly censored Trump during a weeks-long trial, claimed there was evidence of “fraud,” wildly claimed he knew better than real estate experts and that Trump’s Florida home was worth under $20 million when experts put it at closer to $500 million, and imposed a judgment of more than $$350 million in the case, which now is on appeal.

O’Keefe reported, “An insider where the Judge works out at Equinox in Great Neck, N.Y., also recorded Judge Engoron ‘creeping girls out.’ Sources say Engoron does this ‘every visit’ each morning. Video: Cathedral Hosts Funeral for Atheist Transgender Activist

A huge funeral was held Thursday inside Manhattan’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral for transgender activist and atheist Cecilia Gentili of Brooklyn, who died February 6.

Gentili was 52 when he died of unknown causes at home, the Daily Mail reported Friday, noting that about 1,000 friends and fans of Gentili filled the church pews during the service.

The outlet described the scene:

A picture near the altar showed a haloed Ms. Gentili surrounded by the Spanish words for ‘transvestite,’ ‘whore,’ ‘blessed’ and ‘mother’ above the text of Psalm 25.

A mourner upstaged the priest at one point by singing ‘Ave Maria’ – but changing the lyrics to ‘Ave Cecilia’ before dancing through the aisles.

Shocking Video Shows Moment Driver Intentionally Plows Into NYPD Officer: ‘F–K These Cops!’

The driver who struck a policeman at a Manhattan crime scene told authorities it was intentional, adding, “F–k these cops, it’s a lesson to him,’’ sources said Friday — with the mow-down caught on shocking video.

Sahara Dula — a 24-year-old Brooklynite whose lawyer said mentors kids to stay off drugs — was driving her black Lexus the wrong way on the Upper East Side while high on marijuana Wednesday when she barreled into the NYPD officer, officials and sources said.

“I told the cop I wanted to go straight, and he wouldn’t move, so I hit him. I did it on purpose,’’ Dula later told investigators, according to court papers.

“F–k these cops! He wouldn’t move!’’ she screamed a few minutes after the incident, the documents claim —with a source saying Dula added, “F–k these cops, it’s a lesson to him, and hopefully he doesn’t want to be a cop anymore.”

Footage posted on X late Thursday shows Dula, a college criminal justice graduate and former doorman, driving her vehicle the wrong way on Park Avenue near East 71st Street around 4:30 p.m.

Entire High School Goes Temporarily Virtual to Make Room for Roughly 2,000 Illegal Aliens

An entire New York high school will temporarily go virtual to make room for roughly 2,000 migrants, it announced Tuesday.

More than 160,000 migrants came to New York City over the past year, and Democratic Mayor Eric Adams has repeatedly asked the federal government for assistance in dealing with them. Migrants are being relocated from Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field to James Madison High School Jan. 10 due to potential flooding and windy conditions, according to the school.

“I am writing with an update regarding the activation of James Madison High School as a temporary overnight respite center due to the forecast of potential high winds and flooding conditions beginning this evening through tomorrow morning. To ensure a smooth transition for families temporarily sheltering overnight in the building, our school building will be closed on Wednesday, January 10 and school will be in session remotely for all students,” Jodie Cohen, principal of James Madison High School, wrote in a press release.

Adams and several other mayors of sanctuary cities, including Denver and Chicago, requested additional funding from the White House and Congress, as well as coordination with state and local governments, to deal with migrants. Denver has received more than 34,000 migrants, and Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston said “cities will have to look at dramatically reducing the amount of services we offer” due to the migrants. Two Teens Stabbed on Christmas: ‘I Want All White People Dead’

Two teenage girls were reportedly stabbed on Christmas Day while enjoying a meal at the Grand Central Terminal.

The incident occurred before noon on Monday, at a restaurant called Tartinery in the Grand Central Dining Concourse. According to reports, the alleged assailant Steven Hutcherson, 36, of the Bronx, argued with restaurant staff over sitting in the restaurant’s space, at which point he allegedly remarked that the two teen girls, 14 and 16, were allowed to sit there before pulling out a knife and stabbing both of the young women, authorities say.

Police responded in seconds, and Hutcherson ultimately surrendered.

According to WABC-TV, “He was charged with felony counts of attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.” However, the outlet noted that he is also being investigated for a potential hate crime, as law enforcement sources told the New York Post that the man yelled, “I want all the white people dead,” adding, “I want to sit next to the crackers.”

The two teens, visiting from South Africa, were taken to Bellevue Hospital to be treated for their injuries. One young woman was stabbed in the thigh and the other in the back. Seniors Evicted as NYC Converts Senior Center Into Migrant Shelter

Dozens of seniors in New York, including a 94-year-old Army veteran named Frank Tammaro, were evicted from their senior center, which was then converted into a migrant shelter.

City officials have estimated that tens of thousands of migrants have entered the city since last spring, which is costing around $5 million per day. Mayor Eric Adams, who previously boasted about NYC being a “sanctuary” for migrants, has more recently complained about the influx of migrants.

Tammaro told Fox News that he had lived in the center for five years, and intended to spend the rest of his days there until he and the other members were notified that they were being kicked out. After he was evicted, Tammaro’s family found out that the center was turned into a migrant shelter.

“I do get upset when I see them handing out all this money and all these things, and I’m paying taxes and getting kicked out,” Tammaro said. “I’ve never got anything from the city. Or the state.”

The veteran’s daughter, with whom he now lives, echoed the same sentiment. “I don’t understand it at all. It’s not fair to anybody,” Barbara Annunziata said. “These migrants, they’re getting everything. They’re getting everything and I can’t get nothing for [Tammaro]. New Yorker Arrested After Trying to Save Woman’s Life (VIDEO)

Police arrested a New York man who was trying to protect a young woman allegedly being harassed by a homeless vagrant, according to the New York Post (NYP).

John Rote, a 43-year-old Queens resident, was allegedly trying to stop Matthew Roesch, a 49-year-old homeless man, who had allegedly cornered a woman and allegedly told her “If you don’t give me a dollar, I’m going to take your purse,” according to the New York Post (NYP).

Upon seeing the alleged attempted robbery, sources said Rote reached into his backpack and removed a firearm, yelling “Get away from her!’ before firing two warning shots into the air, per NYP.

Prosecutors charged Rote with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment and menacing, NYP reported.

New Yorkers Are Leaving in Droves for This Red State, Report Shows

Over 500,000 New Yorkers left for other states in 2022, according to a report from the New York Post.

Reportedly, the top destinations for the 545,498 residents who left the state include Florida, followed by New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Texas, and California. With 301,000 new residents moving to New York, the state suffered a net population loss of 244,000.

About 91,000 people who left the state moved to Florida. About 75,000 moved to New Jersey, 50,000 to Connecticut and 44,000 to Pennsylvania. Around 31,000 New Yorkers moved to California and 30,000 moved to Texas. For Texas, specifically, this was an increase of 67 percent from 2019.

Other destinations New Yorkers moved to include North Carolina, Massachusetts, Virginia and Georgia. Less than 500 New Yorkers moved to Wyoming, Montana, Iowa, Mississippi and South Dakota.
