People in This Small Ohio Town Couldn’t Open Their Cars or Garages for Weeks. The Mystery Has Been Solved.

By Daily Wire. For weeks, residents in North Olmsted, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland, couldn’t use their key fobs to open their cars or garage doors.

The problem started in late April, according to WKCY3. The media outlet interviewed resident Cory Branchick, who said when the problem first started she assumed the battery in her key fob had died. . .

Branchick told the outlet that 10 of her neighbors were having the same issue, and residents who lived on other streets in the area were also experiencing the problem. Some residents only had their key fob stop working, others couldn’t operate their garage doors, while still others found both had stopped working. . .

North Olmsted City Councilman Chris Glassburn said something must be interfering with fobs’ radio frequencies and suggested maybe the utility companies’ equipment in the area was responsible. AT&T and First Energy investigated, but found nothing. First Energy even turned off residents’ power, yet the interfering frequency remained. . .

Glassburn had set out with a retired communications employee and searched for the source. Using a de-amplifier, they found the signal and were able to enter the residents’ home with permission from a neighbor. In the home they found a homemade device had been causing the interference. Key Fobs and Garage Openers Mysteriously Stop Working in North Olmsted Neighborhood

By WKYC 3. “It can’t be some small device that’s causing this interference,” said North Olmsted City Councilman Chris Glassburn.

Glassburn says key fobs and garage openers are radio transmitters. He believes something in the area is interfering with the devices’ radio frequencies.

What is it exactly? It’s been weeks and no one knows. . .

There’s been many theories about what could be behind the issue. People have speculated it could be the airport, or maybe even NASA. (Read more from “Key Fobs and Garage Openers Mysteriously Stop Working in North Olmsted Neighborhood” HERE)

Suspect in Oklahoma Family Deaths Had Long Criminal History – for Which He Served Hardly Any Time

Over the past few years, Sen. Tom Cotton has stood alone bucking the political elites and asserting what is obvious to anyone who lives outside the political bubble – that we have an under-incarceration problem in this country relative to the crimes committed. For every criminal the political elites believe is over-sentenced, there are endless numbers of career gang members who are as dangerous as can be, yet are either never sentenced to prison or are incarcerated for a short period of time, despite having massive criminal histories. Too many innocent victims needlessly die as a result of this forgotten form of catch-and-release. Sadly, it appears that Tonya Horn and her daughter, Rylee Ewald, are the latest victims of the under-incarceration of the worst offenders.

On the evening of April 19, Rylee Ewald was like any 8-year-old girl enjoying a car ride with her parents on the way back from taking their dog to the vet when they were struck by the speeding stolen vehicle of Andrew Munoz and Deanna Alvarez. Rylee and her mother, Tonya, died in the crash, and her dad, Eric, is in the hospital with a broken pelvis, multiple broken ribs, a broken jaw, and a damaged spine. The family has set up a GoFundMe to cover the medical expenses.

This is a terrible tragedy beyond belief. And the details and past criminal history of the driver of the other car make it an avoidable tragedy.

At around 5:40 p.m., Andrew Munoz, 27, and his passenger, Deanna Alvarez, 35, were pulled over by Oklahoma City police officers for a driving violation. Munoz pretended to slow down, but then gunned the engine of the pickup truck, ran through a stop sign, and plowed into the family’s SUV, killing Tonya and Rylee. Police discovered that the vehicle had been stolen, and they also found methamphetamine and firearms inside it.

Munoz was charged with two counts of second degree murder, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug proceeds, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, felony eluding, and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.

Alvarez, the passenger, who had no prior arrest record, was charged with two counts of second degree murder, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug proceeds, and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.

Munoz has a 10-year criminal history of every single criminal act committed on the night that led to the murder of Tonya and Rylee, yet he remained free most of the time!

According to records from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Munoz was arrested in 2011 and convicted in 2012 for eluding a police officer. At the same time, he was arrested for distributing drugs. In 2017, he was convicted of multiple charges of using unauthorized vehicles and of drug distribution.

Yet despite his repeat offenses, he only served probation for recent vehicle theft and served just five months on drug charges before being released last August.

This is a repeat offender who has shown a proclivity for danger on the streets in multiple ways, yet he was barely locked up. And this is Oklahoma.

Now, fast-forward to the issue of criminal justice “reform,” with both parties in Washington, as well as so-called conservatives led by Jared Kushner pushing to have people like this released even earlier. They successfully passed a bill last year granting lower sentences and early release for these very violent drug offenders who graduated to the federal system! The ones in the state system are bad enough, but the guys Kushner and company are trying to let out are worse.

We were lied to by the political class about “first-time, low level, non-violent” offenders being locked up for 100 years. It’s simply not true, not even in state systems.

Too many arrests never result in a charge, and too many charges result in probation or little jail time, even after numerous arrests and convictions. The reality is that the political class in all 50 states now views drug trafficking and driving offenses, such as stolen vehicles or drunk driving, as “low-level” offenses, but most offenders, especially the repeat ones, are inherently violent and are usually gang-bangers. That is most certainly true for the ones targeted by U.S. attorneys for federal charges.

Murders would often be preventable if repeat criminals were sentenced justly. These stories play out every day, but there is nobody standing for victims of crime or for law enforcement. The weight of the political, social, and elitist world is behind every single criminal. Some even become celebrities themselves. The victims are all but forgotten except by God.

Last week, in an interview with Time magazine, Kushner said that the issue of jailbreak “was not Ds vs Rs, but really us vs. them.” Well, if everyone in politics agrees with him, then who is the “them?” Clearly, it’s law enforcement and victims of crime who just don’t matter to the political elites. Ohio Democrat Drafts Amendment Seeking to Make Black Babies Exempt From Pro-Life Law

A female Democrat state representative from Ohio, Rep. Janine Boyd, drafted an amendment last week seeking to have black babies exempted from pro-life legislation dubbed the “heartbeat bill,” which bars babies with detectable heartbeats (around six weeks gestation) from being killed via abortion.

As reported by LifeNews, Boyd’s bill “would have given an exemption to African American women to abort their unborn babies for any reason up to the state’s current abortion limit, 20 weeks.” . . .

“Black slaves were once treated like cattle and put out to stud in order to create generations of more slaves,” argued the Democrat. “Our country is not far enough beyond our history to legislate as if it is.” . . .

Former Planned Parenthood executive turned pro-life advocate Abby Johnson ripped Boyd’s targeted amendment, snarking that “apparently a 38% national abortion rate in the African-American community isn’t enough.”

“A female, African-American democratic state representative from Ohio presented this amendment to the Ohio Heartbeat bill. This amendment would have made an exception for African-American babies…because apparently a 38% national abortion rate in the African-American community isn’t enough,” posted Johnson to Facebook. “The amendment was struck down 11-7.”

Teen Suspended for Posting Bible Verses in Response to Pride Flags

A student in Ohio claims she received a day of in-school suspension after she hung Bible verses on walls and lockers in response to LGBTQ pride flags decorating the halls. The teen also alleges that her principal said she was “targeting the [Gay-Straight Alliance] organization.”

In a video shared on her mother’s Facebook page, Gabby Helsinger details the incident that occurred at Lebanon High School. Her mother, Tina Helsinger, captioned the video, “Lebanon schools celebrates [sic] evil and punishes righteousness!!”

“On Thursday when I got to school, I see that there were pride flags, posters around my school,” Gabby said in the video. “And I felt the need to write down some Bible verses so I could put them around my school. And I wrote them down and I put them around the lockers, the walls.” It is unknown which Bible verses Gabby chose to share with her peers. . .

She additionally noted that she had “seen that there [were] people in my school that needed help… They don’t need to be living in the confusion of wondering if they should be gay, bi, lesbian, trans — anything like that. And I know that God is the only way that they can be healed by that, and that’s why I did it. I was not targeting any kind of organization.”

When she arrived at the principal’s office, according to Gabby, he asked her why she hung the Bible verses. “And I said, ‘Because I wanted to spread the word of God.’ And [the principal] goes, ‘Well did you have permission?’ And I said, ‘No.’ I didn’t know you had to have permission because people do it a lot — putting Post-It notes on people’s lockers, so I just did it.” (Read more from “Teen Suspended for Posting Bible Verses in Response to Pride Flags” HERE)

Former Wrestler Corrects Reports About Jim Jordan’s Role in Abuse Scandal

Mark Coleman, a former wrestler at Ohio State University, who went on to become an Olympian and UFC champion, this week revealed that he was one of Dr. Richard Strauss’s victims in the late 1980s. Dr. Strauss, the former OSU wrestling team doctor, was accused of sexually abusing several of the OSU wrestlers. He eventually killed himself in 2005. In his announcement about being a victim, Coleman appeared to suggest that former OSU assistant wrestling coach and current Congressman Jim Jordan knew something about the abuse.

“There’s no way unless he’s got dementia or something that he’s got no recollection of what was going on at Ohio State,” Coleman said of Jordan during an interview with the Wall Street Journal. . .

“At no time did I ever say or have any direct knowledge that Jim Jordan knew of Dr. Richard Strauss’s inappropriate behavior,” Coleman said in a statement Friday. “I have nothing but respect for Jim Jordan as I have known him for more than 30 years and know him to be of impeccable character.”

One of his fellow former wrestlers, Mike DiSabato, has had no issue trying to connect Jordan with scandal in recent weeks. Jordan, he’s told media, must have known what was going on because he had a locker right next to Strauss. Yet, Jordan is adamant that he did not know. . .

“Mike DiSabato and his PR representative have released information and made statements publicly without my authorization and, in my opinion, are using them to exploit and embarrass The Ohio State University,” Coleman said. “I am distancing myself from Mike DiSabato as he is not my manager and does not speak for me. I am also disappointed with many of the public statements made by Mr. DiSabato and his personal attacks on individuals employed by the university and others.” (Read more from “Former Wrestler Corrects Reports About Jim Jordan’s Role in Abuse Scandal” HERE)

Insane: Actress Thinks Democrats Lost Because of the Green Party-Russia Alliance, or Something

There still isn’t an official winner in Ohio’s special election in the 12th congressional district, but it looks like state Sen. Troy Balderson, the Republican candidate, will eke out a win against Democrat Danny O’Connor. This race was seen as a bellwether, and it’s the last contest before the actual 2018 midterms in November. Should this race have been this competitive? No. Should it have been an easy win? Yes, but a win is a win. Right now, hundreds of votes were found (yeah, I know, right?), but Balderson is still in the lead by a little over 1,500 votes, or 0.8 percent. That’s not enough to trigger a recount and usually the outcome, baring something extraordinary, remains the same. Yet, there could be another reason for the unhinged Left: the Green Party, which I guess is now a vessel of the Kremlin. Actress and Resist activist Alyssa Milano took to Twitter to bash the Green Party saying:

Jim Jordan Interviewed in Ohio State Sexual Abuse Investigation, Doubles Down on Denial

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was interviewed as part of an independent investigation into allegations of sexual abuse at Ohio State University by a former athletics team doctor, according to The Hill.

The law firm Perkins Coie LLP is handling the investigation, and initially said Jordan had been unresponsive to requests for an interview, although Jordan said it was simply because the firm was sending messages to the wrong email address. . .

Jordan told investigators the exact same thing he has told the public — that he knew nothing about alleged sexual abuse of Ohio State athletes by former team doctor Richard Strauss while Jordan was an assistant wrestling coach at the school.

“Congressman Jordan has told the investigators the same thing he’s told you guys in the media since day one,” said Jordan spokesman Ian Fury, The Hill reported. “He has never had any abuse reported to him. As we’ve said, we’re happy to assist the investigation any way we can.”

Several former wrestlers accused Jordan of doing nothing after hearing reports that Strauss was sexually abusing wrestlers. Jordan has denied the claims repeatedly, and has been defended by fellow former coaches and members of Congress. Dem Councilman Tells Mourning Family of Dead Teen WHAT?

By NY Daily News. An Ohio councilman apologized to the family of a teen, who died in a van after calling 911 twice pleading for help, for making insensitive comments during a council meeting.

Cincinnati City Councilman Wendell Young told Kyle Plush’s family members at the meeting Tuesday that “There’s no amount of money that’s going to make you happy.”

“It’s not about the money,” Ron Plush, Kyle’s father, shouted at Young.

“This was the most insensitive thing I’ve ever heard,” said another family fired back. “I’m sorry, you’ve crossed the line.”

The Plush family then stormed out of the meeting as Young continued speaking. (Read more from “Dem Councilman Tells Mourning Family of Dead Teen What?” HERE)

Wendell Young Apologizes to Kyle Plush’s Family, Tells Mayor Not to Lecture Him

By The Enquirer. Cincinnati City Councilman Wendell Young apologized Wednesday for comments that outraged the family of a teenager who died despite two desperate calls to 911.

Relatives of Kyle Plush stormed out of City Council chambers Tuesday near the end of a six-hour council committee meeting after Young suggested that police officers, 911 operators and other city officials had most likely done the best they could to help Kyle.

Young said the family, which has pressed the city to investigate what went wrong, would get no benefit from “finger pointing” or “witch hunting.” . . .

On Wednesday, Young told The Enquirer and again said during the City Council meeting that he didn’t mean to offend anyone, especially the grieving family.

“I never meant to hurt their feelings. I am sincerely sorry about that,” Young said before the meeting. “I feel bad about what happened. They’re upset, legitimately so with me. I’m sorry about that.” (Read more from “Wendell Young Apologizes to Kyle Plush’s Family, Tells Mayor Not to Lecture Him” HERE)

Sheriff Offers Free Gun Class for Teachers… Slots Fill in 20 Minutes

A sheriff in Ohio thinks one way to prevent mass shootings at schools is to arm teachers and make sure they know how to protect their students.

One day after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida, which left 17 people dead, Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones posted a video to Facebook explaining that “the current way we do things in the school system needs to be changed.”

“We need to put armed personnel in schools,” he said in the video. “We need to look at metal detectors. This is not going to stop or go away but we need to be prepared and we don’t need to have our heads in the sand.”

Later, when explaining who in schools should be armed, Jones suggested that retired police officers or military veterans could be hired as guards. Or, he said, perhaps school teachers need to be armed and trained.

On Sunday, Jones went a step further, posting on social media that he’d be offering a “free concealed and Carry class” for school teachers in his county.

Jones said in a follow-up tweet he’d accept 50 candidates for the class, and that interested school employees should email his office. Within 20 minutes, he said he’d already received 50 requests, and interest only grew from there.

On Twitter, many teachers responded positively to Jones’ plan, indicating that they’d love to learn how to use firearms to protect their students.

In an interview Sunday with WLWT, Jones admitted that he knows his plan will spark some controversy, but still, he thinks it will be an effective way to deal with the issue at hand.

“We’ve got to do something, and I’m doing it today,” he said. “We’re going to teach them about school shootings, what to do when someone brings a gun to the schools and you at least know how to deal with a gun, how to identify the gun, how many rounds that gun can shoot and what a bullet can do.”
He said the final decision about whether or not to arm teachers will come from local school boards, but at least for right now, he’s doing his part to improve school safety.

“I believe that school teachers should be taught how to deal with guns, when guns come to the classroom,” Jones told WXIX. “What guns can do when they come to the classroom, and if the school boards want to give the authority to teachers to be armed. The school boards can do that, they have the authority to do it, but I’m going to do my part, and I assume I’m probably the only one in the state of Ohio that’s doing that — but something has to happen.”

Jones is not the only one calling for teachers to be armed.

Florida state Sen. Dennis Baxley proposed a bill that would allow certain teachers in the state to be armed. The legislation will be taken up on Feb. 20, according to Breitbart.

Meanwhile, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos said last week that states “clearly have the opportunity and the option” to allow trained teachers to carry guns in schools.

“This is an important issue for all states to grapple with and to tackle,” she told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, as reported by ABC News. “I think this needs to be part of the broader, more robust conversation about how can we avoid these things in the future, and how can we ensure that when my child, your child, goes to school in the morning, they’re going to go to a safe and nurturing environment.” (For more from the author of “Sheriff Offers Free Gun Class for Teachers… Slots Fill in 20 Minutes'” please click HERE)

ACLU Sues Ohio over down Syndrome Abortion Law

Ohio’s American Civil Liberties Union sued the state over its recently passed ban on Down syndrome abortions, filing a Thursday complaint that asks the court to grant a permanent injunction on the law.

The ACLU filed their complaint Thursday on behalf of Preterm Cleveland and Planned Parenthood, asking the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio to issue a permanent injunction, according to National Public Radio.

The law is unconstitutional and violates “the very heart of the Fourteenth Amendment right to privacy and autonomy,” the complaint alleges. It also alleges the legislation undermines the mission of physicians to honor and support their patients’ decisions.

The lawsuit comes after Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a Republican, signed House Bill 214 into law in December, effectively banning doctors from aborting babies testing positive for Down syndrome and making Ohio the fourth state to ban Down syndrome abortions.

The law penalizes doctors for performing abortions on pregnant women who receive a positive test that their baby will have Down syndrome.

However, it does not fine or punish a woman who aborts her baby after receiving a positive test for the congenital disorder. The doctor who performs the abortion would be held responsible and would receive a fourth-degree felony charge, according to The Associated Press.

The legislation is set to take effect in late March.

“We are continuously encouraged by how Ohio is on the forefront of protecting the unborn,” Ohio Right To Life President Mike Gonidakis said in a statement after Kasich signed the bill, according to Cleveland.com.

“All Ohioans regardless of the gender, skin color or disability deserve the right to live out their God-given potential and purpose.”

The ban has received significant backlash, however, from other groups and persons besides the ACLU.

“It’s ironic that those who claim they believe in limited government are once again choosing to insert themselves in a relationship that is sacred between that practitioner and their patient,” said state Sen. Charleta Tavares, a Columbus Democrat who fears the bill will discourage doctors from practicing in Ohio.

France had a 77 percent termination rate as of 2015, and Denmark had a 98 percent termination rate for unborn Down syndrome babies. In the United Kingdom, 90 percent of pregnant women with a positive Down syndrome test receive an abortion, according to the BBC.

The Ohio Supreme Court also revoked the license of an abortion clinic in Toledo, Ohio, last week after years of inspection violations and a failure to meet the state’s abortion clinic standards. State inspectors found 24 violations at the abortion clinic in the past 10 years, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Down syndrome abortion bans have also been introduced in Oklahoma, Missouri, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Utah.
