FLASHBACK: Mike Bloomberg Received Planned Parenthood’s Award For Promoting Abortion

Democrat presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg received Planned Parenthood’s Global Citizen Award at the abortion giant’s annual gala in March 2014.

“I obviously care about a woman’s right to choose,” Bloomberg said as he accepted his award. “I think a woman shouldn’t be forced into doing anything. She’s got to make the decision. It’s her body and I understand that.”

The former New York City mayor said in his acceptance speech that his foundation would invest “$50 million into a major expansion of our efforts in Tanzania” and into “Uganda, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and Nicaragua,” where he and Planned Parenthood would work to overturn pro-life laws. . .

He said, “In some countries, our funding will help advocates work towards better sexual health policies for teens and better access to contraceptives.”

“In others, it will help push for less restrictive abortion laws and more government funding for high quality accessible services,” Bloomberg continued as he encouraged his audience to applaud. Sad: Planned Parenthood Reports Record-High Abortions

. . .“Planned Parenthood reported a record-high number of abortions and government funding for 2018-2019, despite encountering a wave of Republican-led measures designed to restrict resources and access to the controversial procedure,” reports Fox News.

The organization’s annual report released on Monday showed that Planned Parenthood received a whopping $617 million in taxpayer funds for the fiscal year ending in June 2018 — a full 9% increase from the previous year and representing 37% of its overall organizational funding. Those funds could decline with the next fiscal year, given the Trump administration’s efforts to strip Planned Parenthood with “executive-level funding for clinics that refer clients for abortion.”

Acting Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson said in the report that the organization has been forced out of government-funded programs due to “unethical” gag rules on referring women for abortions.

“We stand at an inflection point for reproductive health and rights,” Johnson said. “Our opponents moved to dismantle our nation’s program for affordable birth control this year, forcing providers like Planned Parenthood out of the program with an unethical gag rule.”

Pro-life groups were largely frustrated with Planned Parenthood’s reported figures. Alison Centofante, director of external affairs for Live Action, said the record-high numbers only proves that Planned Parenthood needs to be stripped of its governmental funds. Judge Drops Five Felony Charges Against Journalist Who Exposed Planned Parenthood

By Daily Wire. On Friday, a San Francisco Superior Court judge dropped five of the standing 14 felony charges against undercover journalist David Daleiden in the so-called “Baby Body Parts” case that exposed unsavory and potentially illegal practices by abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

“Today, Thomas More Society attorneys secured the dismissal of five more felony counts, six in total, at the conclusion of the Preliminary Hearing in the California criminal case against undercover journalist David Daleiden,” the Thomas More Society, a nonprofit law firm representing Daleiden, said in a press release sent to The Daily Wire.

“Superior Court Judge Christopher Hite issued his final probable cause order today, leaving nine out of an original fifteen felony counts, to proceed to trial,” the press release explained. . .

Peter Breen, Daleiden lawyer and Thomas More Society VP, said the legal team was “pleased” over the tossing of another five felonies, but underscored the absurdity of any of the charges holding up. . .

On November 15, Planned Parenthood was awarded nearly $2 million after Daleiden and fellow journalist Sandra Merritt recorded executives seemingly haggling over the prices of abortion baby body parts, The Daily Wire reported. Planned Parenthood Targets GOP Senators in Seven-Figure Ad Campaign

By The Hill. Planned Parenthood is targeting Republican senators in a seven-figure ad campaign over the Trump administration’s changes to a federally funded birth control program.

The campaign, which will include ads on television, radio and digital platforms, as well as mailers, will target three Republican incumbents who Democrats hope to defeat in 2020: Sens. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.).

Planned Parenthood and other groups left the Title X family planning program earlier this year arguing they could not ethically follow the Trump administration’s new rules blocking providers from referring people for abortions.

Planned Parenthood predicts outrage over the change will lead to a backlash against Trump and Republicans in 2020.

Pro-Life Group Ordered to Pay Nearly $1 Million to Planned Parenthood

A federal jury in San Francisco on Friday ruled that the pro-life group Center for Medical Progress (CMP), led by David Daleiden, must pay Planned Parenthood $870,000 in punitive damages. According to the jury, CMP “caused substantial harm to Planned Parenthood by infiltrating abortion industry conferences to secretly tape abortion doctors and staff,” Courthouse News reported.

Between 2013 and 2015, Daleiden and his co-defendant, Sandra Merritt, attended abortion industry conferences posing as human tissue procurers. During those conferences, Daleiden and Merritt secretly recorded conversations as part of an investigation into the abortion giant.

According to Daleiden’s attorneys, CMP was investigating “violent felonies.” Daleiden and Merritt believed babies were being born alive at Planned Parenthood clinics and that the organization was illegally selling fetal tissue for medical research.

In court, Planned Parenthood argued the videos were selectively edited to make it look as though employees were talking about making money off fetal tissue donations. Planned Parenthood currently operates fetal tissue programs at six clinics in California and Washington.

“David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress intentionally waged a multi-year illegal effort to manufacture a malicious campaign against Planned Parenthood,” Alexis McGill Johnson, the acting president and CEO of Planned Parenthood, told TheHill. “The jury recognized today that those behind the campaign broke the law in order to advance their goals of banning safe, legal abortion in this country, and to prevent Planned Parenthood from serving the patients who depend on us.” (Read more from “Pro-Life Group Ordered to Pay Nearly $1 Million to Planned Parenthood” HERE)

Journalists Who Exposed Planned Parenthood’s ‘Baby Body Parts’ Trade Found Guilty

The jury in the “Baby Body Parts” trial of activist and journalist David Daleiden has delivered a blow to undercover journalism, declaring that secret filming is now illegal and can leave journalists open to massive damages.

Planned Parenthood was awarded almost $2 million for the filming after alleging activist journalist David Daleiden secretly recorded executives negotiating to sell baby body parts.

Peter Breen, a lawyer for Mr. Daleiden, said the judgement is a direct threat to undercover journalism in California and across the country. . .

Judge Orrick told the jury in advance of their verdict that he has decided to find Daleiden guilty of trespass during his undercover journalism. Daleiden previously lost an attempt to have Judge Orrick removed from the case, alleging he was biased against the defendants.

Planned Parenthood sued Daleiden and his colleagues after they released secretly recorded videos of Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the sale and price of baby body parts from abortions in their facilities. Planned Parenthood made a series of claims – stating they had caused damages because of their invasion of privacy with the undercover filming, fraud because they set up a false buying company, and RICO conspiracy because a number of people worked together in the project. RICO charges are more normally associated with criminal mafia cases. The jury found for Planned Parenthood in all their claims. Ousted Planned Parenthood President: Abortion Should Be ‘Safe, Legal, and Rare’

Dr. Leana Wen, the Planned Parenthood president who said she was ousted because she opposed the organization’s politicization, tweeted her support for abortion to be “safe, legal, and rare.”

The construction “safe, legal, and rare” isn’t favored by abortion rights groups, which back broader access to abortion, and is no longer part of the Democratic platform, which says only that abortion must be “safe and legal.” Democrats have moved to allow government funding for abortion and have opposed limits on the procedure, even when performed late in pregnancy.

“I don’t agree with @TulsiGabbard on a lot, but do appreciate that she brought up the third rail for Democrats: that abortion should be ‘safe, legal, and rare,'” Wen tweeted Tuesday evening during the Democratic debate in Ohio. “We should reduce the need for abortions by investing in prevention.”

Rep. WATCH: Planned Parenthood Exec Confronted About Using ‘Less Crunchy’ Abortion Technique to Increase Profit

A Planned Parenthood CEO refused to answer questions Friday about her failure to reprimand a doctor who was secretly filmed boasting about “less crunchy” abortion techniques so as to acquire better body parts for sale.

Sheri Bonner, the CEO of Planned Parenthood Pasadena/San Gabriel Valley, refused to answer questions on Friday about evidence she gave in the organization’s lawsuit against journalist/activist David Daleiden, and his colleagues about undercover videos that showed senior executives negotiate over the sale of body parts from abortions.

The judge refused to let the “less crunchy” part of the video be shown in court and interrupted counsel when it was mentioned. Dr. Gatter said she had persuaded a fellow surgeon to employ the “less crunchy” technique so as to acquire a less damaged and therefore more valuable and sought-after body part. However, the jury did hear a defense lawyer start to talk about the quote and also heard that Dr. Gatter was “haggling” over the price of body parts retrieved from abortions.

At the time, Dr. Gatter was one of the most senior doctors and executives in Planned Parenthood. She was the medical director at Planned Parenthood Pasadena and the president of Planned Parenthood’s National Medical Directors Council.

It is illegal to profit from the sale of body parts in the United States. Leaving the court after giving evidence, Ms. Bonner refused to answer questions about whether it is legal to change abortion/medical techniques to make them ‘less crunchy” for profit and without the patient’s consent.

Planned Parenthood Doctor Admits: Strong Demand for Aborted Babies’ Livers, Kidneys, Intestines

A Planned Parenthood doctor has revealed that there is a strong demand for aborted babies’ livers and kidneys from organizations that harvest the bodies provided by the abortion giant.

Dr. Thomas Moran was giving evidence in a lawsuit the organization has filed against David Daleiden and his colleagues over undercover videos that show Planned Parenthood senior executives negotiate over the sale of body parts from abortions.

Moran, who is a medical director of Planned Parenthood Southwest, San Diego, told the court about how he ended up being secretly recorded while talking to Daleiden and other undercover researchers at a Planned Parenthood Conference in 2015.

Moran agreed that the undercover researchers did not seek him out; rather, Moran and his colleagues approached the booth where Daleiden and his associates were posing as legitimate tissue and organ buyers. . .

Evil: Planned Parenthood to Open Secret ‘Mega-Facility’

2019 seems like we’re living in Bizarro World. Recent events show that reality is stranger than fiction. Take this latest story about Planned Parenthood, for example.

In 2011, the satirical website “The Onion” published a story titled “Planned Parenthood Opens $8 Billion Abortionplex.” Its opening lede read, “Planned Parenthood announced Tuesday the grand opening of its long-planned $8 billion Abortionplex, a sprawling abortion facility that will allow the organization to terminate unborn lives with an efficiency never before thought possible.”

On Tuesday, CBS news tweeted, “Planned Parenthood is announcing the opening of a new mega-facility close to states where abortion access is restricted. The new clinic was built in secret in Illinois, near the Missouri border.” . . .

According to CBS, since August 2018 Planned Parenthood has been building the facility in secret:

Colleen McNicholas, the chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, said the facility was built in secret to avoid protestors and delays. Other Planned Parenthood projects had run into problems once the public realized the construction was for an abortion provider. In one instance, a communications company had refused to install telephone and data lines; in another, a cabinet maker never delivered an order, McNicholas said. In Birmingham, Alabama, protestors targeted Planned Parenthood’s suppliers, flooding their social media accounts with fake negative reviews.

Planned Parenthood Makes Major Admission About Body Part Harvesting

During the preliminary hearing this week in the criminal case against undercover journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, a “semi-retired” Planned Parenthood executive admitted that the abortion business had no ban on altering abortion procedures in order to better harvest baby body parts that would later be sold, allegedly for a profit.

According to reporting from Lianne Laurence at LifeSiteNews, “Doe 10,” the former medical director at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles until 2013, “admitted under questioning Wednesday by Peter Breen of the Thomas More Society and lawyer for Daleiden, that the Planned Parenthood affiliates she worked in had no rule against changing the abortion procedure ‘technique’ in order to obtain better baby body parts.”

As noted by Laurence, “federal consent rules stipulate a doctor cannot change the method of a medical procedure without a patient’s consent.”

“‘Doe 10’ testified that Planned Parenthood abortionists ‘would never change the method’ but admitted Planned Parenthood began making the distinction between ‘technique’ and ‘method’ after the [Center for Medical Progress] undercover videos were released,” the report noted.
