Two Planned Parenthood Clinics Closing in Ohio After Funding Cuts

By The Hill. Planned Parenthood on Monday announced that two of its clinics in Ohio will close later this month after losing state and federal funding.

The organization blamed the closures on politicians who moved to “defund” Planned Parenthood for performing abortions. Neither of the two clinics performed the procedure, Planned Parenthood said. . .

Planned Parenthood gave up millions of dollars in federal funding last month after the Trump administration said the group would need to comply with a new rule banning it from referring women for abortions if it wanted to continue receiving government dollars.

Republican legislators in Ohio cut about $600,000 in state funding to Planned Parenthood this year after winning approval from a federal appeals court.

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in March upheld a 2016 Ohio law banning preventive health funding from going to organizations that perform or promote abortions. (Read more from “Two Planned Parenthood Clinics Closing in Ohio After Funding Cuts” HERE)

Planned Parenthood Clinics Reopens

By WBAA. The Fort Wayne Health Center operated by Planned Parenthood of Kentucky and Indiana INC. officially opened September 3, just over a year after it closed due to protests.

Planned Parenthood’s website lists the new location at 2930 Lake Avenue. It also lists services ranging from men and women’s health care, to HIV testing and birth control, as well as abortion referrals, but no abortion services. . .

In a Facebook post, Planned Parenthood of Kentucky and Indiana posted a bright pink image of the state of Indiana with a Planned Parenthood logo over the geographic location of Fort Wayne, under the words, ‘We’re Back!’ The caption accompanying the picture reads:

“Anti-reproductive health attacks on Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky’s Fort Wayne health center forced it to close, but we didn’t back down. Fort Wayne is open again and we will continue to fight back in the legislature and in the courts to ensure Hoosiers have access to the care they need and deserve.”

Former Planned Parenthood ‘Educator’: Planned Parenthood ‘Grooms’ Young Girls for Abortions

Former sex educator Monica Cline said Planned Parenthood pushes sex education that “grooms” children for promiscuity and leads to abortion. . .

“We have to approach this and look at your audience and realize that they’ve probably done anything and everything related to sex,” the Planned Parenthood Director of Prevention Education told Cline at the beginning of her instruction. Cline has asked that the director, who has passed away, remain anonymous out of respect for the director’s family. . .

The director showed Cline several Planned Parenthood case studies that showed girls as young as 10 years old coming to Planned Parenthood for help with injuries, the removal of foreign objects and abortions. The studies convinced Cline that something must be done to help these young women. . .

Planned Parenthood’s sex education grooms students for promiscuity, Cline believes, and this promiscuity leads them to abortion. “The sex education grooms them for promiscuity. Grooms them for STD treatment, and grooms them for abortion,” she said. . .

“Teens are being given false ideas that condoms will cover all the bases,” Cline added. “They do tell them to get tested and treated – which means coming back to the clinic – and if they are pregnant they are encouraged to get an abortion.” (Read more from “Former Planned Parenthood ‘Educator’: Planned Parenthood ‘Grooms’ Young Girls for Abortions” HERE)

Trump Defunds Planned Parenthood; Arizona Jury Awards Whistle Blower Ex-Director Millions

By Life Site News. Nearly two years after Mayra Rodriguez sued the abortion provider Planned Parenthood for wrongful termination after she exposed negative health complications for women using their services, a jury awarded the Arizona woman $3 million in damages this past Friday.

Rodriguez worked for the abortion behemoth for 17 years. In 2017, she was fired by her employer “after repeatedly making claims that Planned Parenthood was endangering the health and safety of their patients,” according to LifeNews.com Specifically, Rodriguez reported “high complication rates for one abortionist” and also “exposed the abortionist’s illegal conduct falsification of affidavits and patient records, incomplete abortions, and failure to report a minor who had an adult partner and was a victim of statutory rape.”

Rodriguez, who ran three Planned Parenthood clinics in Arizona, turned to Abby Johnson’s “And Then There Were None” non-profit. Johnson, herself a former Planned Parenthood director, started the non-profit to encourage women to leave the abortion industry and reveal the truth about the organization. . .

Planned Parenthood receives more than $500 million annually from United States’ taxpayers for their activities. But, President Donald J. Trump’s administration recently won a significant legal hurdle which allows the federal government to block organizations, like Planned Parenthood, that receive Title X funding from using this money towards abortions. Planned Parenthood receives about $60 million each year from Title X funding. (Read more from “Woman Awarded $3 Million After Being Fired for Exposing Planned Parenthood’s Cruelty” HERE)

Planned Parenthood Leaves Federal Program, Loses Funding for Low-Cost Services

By KCCI. Planned Parenthood announced Monday that it will not comply with a new Trump administration rule banning it from referring patients for abortion services.

In doing so, the nonprofit reproductive health care organization will no longer be eligible to receive federal Title X funding for family planning.

In Iowa, Planned Parenthood officials said Title X funds provided low-income patients with birth control and cancer screenings.

“Planned Parenthood will do everything in our power to continue to care for our patients and we will need to make up this money through some private funding (and) private donations to ensure all patients can get that health care they need,” said Jamie Burch Elliott, public affairs manager at Planned Parenthood North Central States. Planned Parenthood Braces for Serious Financial Jolt From Trump

By WND. A new rule adopted by the Trump administration that is expected to deprive the abortionists at industry leader Planned Parenthood hits Monday.

That’s the rule that Title X funds cannot go to clinics that conduct abortions or refer them.

The pending change has been upheld by a numerous court decisions.

But now Jordan Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice says the first deadline has come for the abortion industry to prove it is complying in order to continue getting funds.

“HHS has announced the first date for Planned Parenthood and other Title X recipients to provide ‘assurance’ of compliance is Monday, August 19th,” he explained. (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Braces for Serious Financial Jolt From Trump” HERE)

Judge Rules Against Planned Parenthood’s Bid to Freeze Administration’s New Abortion Rules

By PJ Media. A federal appeals court has rejected an effort by Planned Parenthood to avoid new abortion rules that would ban referrals by federally funded family planning clinics.

The decision in the 9th U.S. Court of Appeals will allow lawsuits filed by various pro-abortion groups to go forward while the rule is implemented.

Politico:

The Department of Health and Human Services set a deadline of midnight Monday for providers across the country to eithercomply with the policy or be kicked out of the federal Title X family planning program and potentially forfeit millions of dollars in federal grants.Several states and medical groups that serve nearly half of the approximately 4 million low-income women that Title X covers for free and subsidized birth control, STD screenings and other health services have said they won’t participate under the new restrictions.

. . .

There is nothing in the new rules that prevents these groups from offering free mammograms, free birth control, or free exams. The pro-abortion groups are throwing a tantrum that rivals any outburst made by a two-year-old. They don’t care about their clients, they want to be able to tell women they should get an abortion — despite a long-standing federal policy that prevents any federal money from being used for abortions. Pro-Life Activist Gets First Amendment Win From ‘Planned Parenthood’s Favorite Judge’

A federal judge in San Francisco handed a leading pro-life activist a major free speech win on Wednesday evening with a tentative ruling that would severely trim down Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit over undercover videos put out by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP).

The ruling from Judge William Orrick — whose “longstanding relationship” with Planned Parenthood has drawn protests from Daleiden’s team — rejected Planned Parenthood’s claim that CMP activists were trying to incite threats and violence against the abortion provider with the release of the investigative footage, a CMP news release explains.

“I am inclined to exclude from the case all damages that stem from third parties’ reactions to the release of the video recordings as impermissible publication damages barred by the First Amendment absent a defamation claim,” Orrick wrote. “This would include costs for personal security for plaintiffs’ staff and security guards for facilities; costs for physical upgrades to plaintiffs’ facilities (e.g., security cameras, fencing, bulletproof glass); costs to fix incidents of vandalism or arson; costs to address hacks of plaintiffs’ computer systems (including lost business due to inability to make reservations), as well as costs to prevent future intrusion into computer systems.”

Orrick said, “These damages are the result of third-party behavior and reaction to the publication of the video recordings.”

However, he added, “This would not include damages for investigating intrusions into plaintiffs’ conferences and facilities and improvements to access-security measures for conferences and facilities” or “nominal or statutory damages.”

In 2015, CMP released the first of many undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood’s alleged involvement in a lucrative fetal tissue racket. Planned Parenthood responded by taking the pro-life organization to court.

CMP said that definitively removing the third-party damage claims could not only decrease the scope of Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit from potentially around $20 million to around or under $100,000, but it would also strike a blow for citizen journalists like Daleiden and his colleagues.

“Now that all the facts, evidence, and testimony are in, even Planned Parenthood’s favorite judge refuses to buy into the abortion giant’s fake news and lies about the honest motives and protected speech of pro-life citizen journalists,” a statement from Daleiden reads. “Planned Parenthood is a government-sponsored crime syndicate selling baby body parts like widgets on an assembly line and should only appear in federal court as a criminal defendant.”

This is not the only court battle that Daleiden is facing for his undercover reporting. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals recently upheld an almost $200,000 fine against the organization over videos released despite a judge’s gag order.

The state of California charged Daleiden with 15 felonies related to the videos in 2017, but the pro-life activist was granted a stay by the California Supreme Court in March. Planned Parenthood Has Revealed Its True Self for the World to See

. . .In just the latest episode of truth-telling this week, Planned Parenthood is finally giving up its long-running charade as a women’s health organization and is admitting that it is merely a for-profit abortion advocacy group.

The organization publicly dismissed its president over “philosophical differences.” Those differences, according to a letter posted by the ousted head, Dr. Leana Wen, stem from the fact that Wen apparently thought she was working for a women’s healthcare organization that also performed abortions — rather than an abortion advocacy organization with an overtly political agenda.

“I came to Planned Parenthood to run a national healthcare organization,” Wen said in her resignation letter. “The new board has determined that the priority of Planned Parenthood moving forward is to double down on abortion rights advocacy.”

This is a startling admission from Planned Parenthood, which for years has insisted that it is, first and foremost, focused on an all-encompassing view of women’s health. “This is health care,” claimed a recent public relations campaign. The group has maintained for years that abortion only constitutes 3% of its services.

In Wen, Planned Parenthood found an unapologetic advocate for abortion services. However, she also reportedly balked at the rapacious way the organization wanted to advocate, and celebrate, abortions — in addition to its emphatic embrace of a deeply progressive over-arching philosophy. According to reporting from BuzzFeed, Wen routinely deleted the word “sexual” from the phrase “sexual and reproductive healthcare” in Planned Parenthood press releases and documents, and resisted using abortion as a stand-alone term — adding “abortion care” or rewording it entirely. Court Rules President Trump Can Defund Planned Parenthood

A federal appeals court today ruled President Donald Trump can partially defund planned Parenthood while the abortion business’ lawsuit against his administration’s new rules moves forward.

As LifeNews reported in March, the Trump administration finalized an administrative rule that would partially defund the Planned Parenthood abortion business and deprive it of as much as $60 million in taxpayer dollars. This action adds to President Trump’s record of defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion company.

The abortion chain receives about $50 million to $60 million in Title X funds annually, but that could change now that the new rules are being implemented. The administration’s changes to Title X family planning grants have angered the abortion chain Planned Parenthood, prompting a lawsuit, but they provide hope for life-affirming pregnancy centers, which can now compete with the abortion giant for the federal funds. . .

Last month, a three-judge panel from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the Trump administration’s request to lift national injunctions ordered by lower federal courts in Oregon and Washington state, as well as a statewide injunction in California. The panel said the Trump administration will likely prevail in the legal battle over the Title X family planning program since similar Reagan-era rules were upheld by the Supreme Court almost 30 years ago. . .

Today, the entire appeals court upheld defunding in a 7-4 decision with Republican-appointed judges upholding defended and Democrat judges forcing Americans to fund the abortion business. (Read more from “Court Rules President Trump Can Defund Planned Parenthood” HERE)

Planned Parenthood Gets Million-Dollar Boost from Top Facebook Executive

In a recent interview with HuffPost, Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg revealed that she’s looking to pump $1 million of her own money into the political arm of America’s largest abortion provider.

“I think this is a very urgent moment where the rights and the choices and the basic health of the most vulnerable women — the women who have been marginalized, often women of color — are at stake,” she told told the left-leaning outlet in an interview about her donation to Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF). “And so all of us have to do our part to fight these draconian laws.”

This isn’t the first time the liberal billionaire Sandberg has opened up her personal checkbook for the abortion giant, having given another $1 million gift to the organization in the wake of President Trump’s 2017 inauguration. Former Planned Parenthood chief Cecile Richards thanked her for her “her longstanding, and now increased, support” to the organization.

However, in contrast to her previous 2017 gift, this donation is about tipping the political scales and is going to Planned Parenthood’s lobbying arm to help the organization campaign against pro-life politicians and policies from coast to coast.

“Planned Parenthood is going to fight back in the courts, in Congress, in the state houses, in the streets, for women’s health and rights,” Sandberg told Huffpost. “We all have to do everything we can to protect women.”

Following news of the gift, Planned Parenthood CEO and PPAF President Leana Wen thanked Sandberg “for her longstanding commitment to Planned Parenthood & her leadership as a role model for women & girls!”

“Now, more than ever, Sheryl’s generous support is necessary to help Planned Parenthood fight back against unprecedented attacks on people’s health and rights,” Wen said. “As anti-women’s health politicians try to pass extreme abortion bans across the country, our freedom and rights hang in the balance.”

The hefty donation is sure to bring more scrutiny to Facebook, which has been repeatedly accused of suppressing and censoring pro-life content.

Facebook removed a video ad from the pro-life Susan B. Anthony list back in November on the grounds that it contained “sensational or graphic content.” Prior to that, a post at The Daily Wire notes multiple other instances where pro-life views were suppressed on the platform. Earlier this year, multiple pro-life voices claim to have had pro-life content removed. Ninth Circuit Judges Side with Trump Admin on Planned Parenthood

Judges on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals said Thursday that a pro-life Trump administration rule blocking abortion providers from getting federal Title X dollars can go into effect for now.

A panel of three Republican-appointed judges found that there was no reason to continue lower courts’ injunctions against the proposed pro-life rule, since the Supreme Court already held up similar policies as constitutional almost 30 years ago.

“Absent a stay, HHS will be forced to allow taxpayer dollars to be spent in a manner that it has concluded violates the law, as well as the Government’s important policy interest in ensuring that taxpayer dollars do not go to fund or subsidize abortions,” the three judges wrote in a unanimous opinion.

The 2019 Title X revision, which was put forward back in February, “prohibits the use of Title X funds to perform, promote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning” and also bars funding recipients from performing abortions or referring clients for abortions at the same physical facility that gets the taxpayer money.

The Ninth Circuit judge panel found this rule to be a “reasonable interpretation” of Title X, which was originally passed in 1970 and barred funds from going to “programs where abortion is a method of family planning,” per section 1008.

“We are pleased that the Ninth Circuit has cleared the way for this important executive branch action to take effect while our appeals are pending,” Department of Justice spokeswoman Kelly Laco said in a statement to Blaze Media. “The Department of Justice’s position is supported by long-standing Supreme Court precedent and we are confident we will ultimately prevail on appeal.”

“This ruling is a victory for President Trump and the majority of Americans who do not want to fund the abortion industry with their tax dollars,” pro-life SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a Thursday statement. “The Protect Life Rule simply draws a bright line between abortion and family planning, stopping abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood from treating Title X as their private slush fund without reducing funding by a dime. … We are encouraged by this news and confident the Trump administration will prevail.”

Abortion proponents, however, were steamed at the ruling.

“This decision is wrong,” tweeted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. “It will hurt low-income & women of color most of all, making it much harder to find care.”

“The Trump administration’s Title X gag rule will deny access to basic reproductive health care for millions of people,” said 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. “I call that a violation of human rights.”

“The Trump-Pence administration’s gag rule is unethical, illegal, and harmful to public health—and Planned Parenthood will not stand for this attack on millions of people across the country,” said Planned Parenthood President Leana Wen. “We will immediately seek emergency relief from the Court of Appeals.” (For more from the author of “Ninth Circuit Judges Side with Trump Admin on Planned Parenthood” please click HERE)

State to Allow Non-Doctors to Perform Abortions

Gov. Janet Mills signed a bill Monday permitting non-doctors to perform abortions in Maine.

The law will allow physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses to perform abortions, according to a press release from Mills’ office.

“Allowing qualified and licensed medical professionals to perform abortions will ensure that Maine women, especially those in rural areas, are able to access critical reproductive health care services when and where they need them from qualified providers they know and trust,” Mills, a Democrat, said in a statement. . .

Democratic Maine House Speaker Sara Gideon sponsored the bill, “An Act to Authorize Certain Health Care Professionals to Perform Abortions.” It is set to go into effect in September, according to The New York Times. . .

Planned Parenthood President Leana Wen praised the legislation and Mills’ actions in a Tuesday tweet.
