Rand Paul Accuses the Media of Hiding a Key Detail About the GOP Baseball Attacker

By The Blaze. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) made a stunning revelation about what an attacker yelled as he fired on Republican members of Congress playing baseball in Virginia in a harrowing 2017 attack. . .

Paul was speaking on “Fox and Friends” Wednesday when he recalled what the attacker yelled during the violent assault, and made a direct connection to overheated rhetoric from the left.

“I was there at the ball field when Steven Scalise (R-La.) almost died from a very, very angry violent man who was incited really by Rhetoric on the left,” Paul said.

“And this hasn’t been reported enough,” he continued, “when he came on the field with a semi-automatic weapon firing probably close to 200 shots at us, shooting five people and almost killing Steve Scalise, he was yelling ‘this is for healthcare.’” . . .

“So what happens is that when Democrats say ‘get up in their face,’ they need to realize that there are a lot of unstable people out there,” Paul explained. “There are people with anger issues, there are people who are prone to violence.” (Read more from “Rand Paul Accuses the Media of Hiding a Key Detail About the GOP Baseball Attacker” HERE)

Rand Paul: There Will Be an ‘Assassination’ If Left Doesn’t Ratchet Down the Rhetoric

By Fox and Friends. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) called for Democrats to tamp down the anti-Trump rhetoric before one of their supporters resorts to violence.

Speaking on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday, Paul said the bitter fight over Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation has made him increasingly concerned.

“There is going to be an assassination if this doesn’t ratchet down. The other side needs to really calm the rhetoric down,” he said.

Meantime, former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton declared Tuesday that Democrats “cannot be civil” with Republicans any longer.

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” Clinton said. (Read more from “Rand Paul: There Will Be an ‘Assassination’ If Left Doesn’t Ratchet Down the Rhetoric” HERE)

Appalling: Murkowski Votes to Continue Federal Funding for Abortion, Cruz, Others Tag Along

An amendment offered by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) would have defunded Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. The Senate rejected the amendment by a vote of 45-48, well short of the 60 votes it needed invoke cloture and pass the measure. . .

We are disappointed that the majority of the U.S. Senate that claims to be pro-life has not kept its promise to defund Planned Parenthood. At the ACLJ, we will continue to fight for life, and a critical step in that fight is eliminating taxpayer funding of the abortion industry. A key part of this effort is informing you how individual Senators vote on the relevant measures.

For starters, there were six Senators absent for yesterday’s vote: Bob Corker (R-TN), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Brian Schatz (D-HI), and Patty Murray (D-WA).

Next, two Senators from the party with an avowedly pro-life platform voted “No” on this amendment to defund Planned Parenthood. They were Sen’s Collins (R-ME) and Murkowski (R-AK).

Several Senators who have actively campaigned on a pro-life agenda also voted against the amendment and in favor of taxpayer funding for the abortion industry. For example, in 2006, during his U.S. House race, Joe Donnelly (D-IN) said, “In keeping with my personal faith and family values, I have consistently opposed abortion and will continue to do so in Congress. I believe that pro-life means promoting life at every stage, from conception until natural death. I will always vote according to my faith and my conscience on life issues.” Perhaps we should remind Senator Donnelly that Planned Parenthood is the number one provider of abortions in the United States of America. Republicans Block Senator Rand Paul’s Effort to Defund Planned Parenthood

Senator Paul was attempting to add an amendment to the appropriations bill funding the departments of Labor and Health and Human Services, to stop Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funding. . .

There are a limited number of amendments that can be added to a bill, so to fill up space, GOP leadership inserted a useless amendment that would change funding in a program by $1.

“One of the top priorities for a Republican Congress that professes pro-life values on the campaign trail should be to stop taxpayer funding for abortion providers,” Senator Paul said in a statement. “This is our chance to turn our words into action, stand up for the sanctity of life, and speak out for the most innocent among us that have no voice.”

The March for Life issued a statement thanking Senator Paul for his efforts.

“March for Life is grateful to Senator Paul and to those who voted in favor of an amendment to the appropriations bill that would have banned funding to abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, our nation’s largest abortion provider and subject of Department of Justice investigation into the trafficking of aborted baby body parts. Unfortunately, many Senators who claim to be pro-life defied their constituents and the consensus of the American public by giving the abortion industry a pass. Almost two-thirds of Americans say they do not want to fund abortion with their tax dollars. Disentangling American taxpayers from the abortion industry is long overdue. Our elected representatives should join the national consensus and put an end to taxpayer funding of abortion, or risk being voted out of office,” March for Life President Jeanne Mancini said.

Great but Doomed: Rand Paul Introduces Promise-Keeping Amendment to Defund Planned Parenthood

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., wants Republicans to fight to defund Planned Parenthood in the government spending bill currently making its way through the United States Senate.

In a statement released Friday, Paul said it was time for Republicans to change words into action.

“One of the top priorities for a Republican Congress that professes pro-life values on the campaign trail should be to stop taxpayer funding for abortion providers. This is our chance to turn our words into action, stand up for the sanctity of life, and speak out for the most innocent among us that have no voice,” he said.

According to Paul’s office, the amendment would not block health care providers that do not perform abortions from receiving federal funding.

In the 2016-2017 fiscal year, Planned Parenthood received a total of $543.7 million in federal funding at the taxpayer’s expense.

According to The Hill, Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., warned that Paul’s amendment would be a “spoiler” to the massive Defense, Health and Human Services (HHS), Labor, and Education funding bill. GOP leadership has promised to avoid adopting “poison pill” proposals to these funding bills.

What that means, in plain English, is that Senate leadership is unwilling to force the Democrats to choose between funding abortion providers with taxpayer dollars or shutting down the government. Murdered babies aren’t worth the effort for most Republicans. This Republican Is Defending Trump’s Brennan Ordeal

Earlier this week President Trump officially pulled former CIA director John Brennan’s security clearance, citing a number of reasons for doing so.

“At this point in my administration any benefits that senior officials might glean from consultations with Mr. Brennan are now outweighed by the risks posed by his erratic conduct and behavior,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced from the briefing room on behalf of the president.

Before President Trump made the decision to strip Brennan of his clearance, Republican Senator Rand Paul publicly backed the idea and had a conversation about it at the White House.

Meanwhile, President Trump may pull the security clearances for a number of other former and current government officials. Those on the list include fired FBI director James Comey, current DOJ official Bruce Ohr and former DIA director James Clapper. Rand Paul Drops Bombshell on Hillary/Russia Collusion

By Daily Wire. On Wednesday morning, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) told Fox News’ Bill Hemmer that the only person we have evidence of colluding with Russia is twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, not President Donald Trump.

Sen. Paul made his comments in the aftermath of Trump’s controversial meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Paul has been a fierce defender of the president as Trump faces backlash from both sides of the aisle for seemingly suggesting he did not believe U.S. intel agencies about Russian meddling in the 2016 election — though he walked back the remark on Tuesday. . .

“The president sees the Mueller investigation; he sees all these accusations from partisan Democrats, Hillary Clinton, saying ‘Oh, he colluded with the Russians,'” explained Paul.

“The only people who we actually know colluded with the Russians were Hillary Clinton who paid a British agent who paid Russians for information for the dossier,” he declared, referencing the so-called “Steele dossier” which was funded by Hillary and the DNC. Sen. Rand Paul Goes After John Brennan After He Calls Trump ‘Treasonous’

By The Daily Caller. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul went after former CIA director John Brennan following his comments calling President Trump “treasonous” Wednesday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“The former director of the CIA, you think of that as a sober minded person, responsible person, kind of a James Bond with maybe an advanced degree. Here you have a naked partisan nut cake describing a press conference as treason,” said Carlson. “How should that make us feel as American citizens?”

“It makes me wonder whether he should be getting a government pension if he’s going to be disrespecting the commander-in-chief, calling the president treasonous. That’s about as overtop as you can imagine,” responded Paul.

Tucker then brought up that “treason is a death penalty offense” and yet that is how Brennan “is describing views.”

“You have to realize John Brennan started his illustrious career by voting for the Communist Party, you know that’s who he wanted to win the presidency, back in the 70s,” Paul said. “When he came to be head of the CIA, I filibustered him because I thought he was bad news from the very beginning.” (Read more from “Sen. We Finally Know Why Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him

By Townhall. Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) office has provided Townhall the following statement regarding last year’s attack.

“Before Senator Paul was violently attacked from behind, he had no conversations or discussions with the attacker. There was no ‘longstanding dispute.’ This description is untrue. It is impossible to have a dispute when no words of disagreement were ever spoken – neither immediately nor at any other time before the attack occurred. In the decade prior to the attack, Senator Paul had no contact with the attacker.

The attack was a pre-meditated assault that broke six of the Senator’s ribs and was complicated by fluid and blood around the lung and recurrent pneumonia. Any description of this attack that implies a “yard dispute” justifies such violence and misses the point.” . . .

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was left with six broken ribs, including three displaced fractures, and months of intense pain that felt like 1,000 knives after his neighbor attacked him last year. The assailant, Dr. Rene Boucher, attacked Paul while he was mowing his lawn. The senator had just stepped off the lawn mower and was wearing silencing earmuffs and never saw or heard his neighbor coming.

Contrary to original rumors, Boucher’s attack on the senator was not about politics. He was upset about yard debris, according to new court documents. (Read more from “We Finally Know Why Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him” HERE)

Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him Over Yard Debris, Now Awaits Sentencing

A neighbor who tackled U.S. Sen. Rand Paul “lost his temper” over yard debris on the property line between their homes, a court filing in the federal case said.
The neighbor, Dr. Rene Boucher, is asking a judge to grant probation in the case. Prosecutors are seeking a 21-month prison sentence.

A sentencing memorandum filed Friday by Boucher’s attorney said Paul repeatedly placed “unsightly” yard debris near the property line. On the day before the Nov. 3 attack, Boucher burned some debris left by Paul, according to the document obtained by the Daily News of Bowling Green. The next day, Paul placed more debris on the spot where the pile had been burned, it said.

Boucher, 60, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a member of Congress and is scheduled to be sentenced Friday. . .

“Other than the isolated incident that is in issue, Dr. Boucher has been a pillar of his community, a solid citizen, a family man and a devout Christian,” Baker wrote in his memorandum. A Former Obama Official Is Attacking Rand Paul for Being… Attacked

On Wednesday, former President Barack Obama’s bus driver turned National Security Council spokesman mocked Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) for being attacked by his neighbor late last year.

Tommy Vietor’s vile comments were in a response to a tweet from Paul[:]

Vietor responded by writing: “You are a shameless hack and an idiot. Stop attacking public servants. Start doing a better job not getting beat up by your neighbor.”

Sen. Rand Paul Will Introduce a Bill to End Aid to Pakistan

Following President Trump’s declaration that the United States would end aid to Pakistan, Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky., says he will introduce a bill in the Senate to cut off Pakistan aid and shift those funds toward legislation to improve American infrastructure in 2018.

“The United States should not give one penny to countries who burn our flag and chant ‘death to America,’” Sen. Paul said in a video posted to Twitter. “Countries like Pakistan, that stonewall access to key information in fighting terrorism, don’t deserve our money. I say we should stop now.”

Noting that the U.S. has sent over $33 billion to Pakistan since 2002 while the regime has aided and abetted terrorists, Paul said he will introduce a bill to cut off the aid.

Paul’s bill would instead reallocate those funds to pay for President Trump’s proposed $1 trillion infrastructure plan.

“We need to build our nation, not other countries. It’s time for America-first policy and an end to foreign aid,” Paul said.

On Monday, President Trump kicked off the new year by calling for an end to aid for Pakistan, characterizing it as foolish.

And it’s not only aid to Pakistan that could be on the chopping block. The president also suggested cutting off aid to the Palestinian Authority following its decision to quit peace talks with Israel.

If President Trump is serious about cutting off foreign aid, he’ll find no better ally in the U.S. Senate than Rand Paul. (For more from the author of “Sen. Rand Paul Will Introduce a Bill to End Aid to Pakistan” please click HERE)

Rand Paul Is Still Being a Weirdo About That Lawn Attack

Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky gave his first-person take Tuesday on the surprise lawn attack in early November that left him with a handful of broken ribs.

Paul’s neighbor in Kentucky tackled him from behind, causing the senator to lung contusions, broken ribs and a number of other complications.

“I was working in my yard with my earmuffs on you know to protect my hearing from the mower and I had gotten off the mower, facing downhill and the attacker came running full-blown. I never saw him, I never had conversation – in fact the weird thing is I haven’t talked to him in 10 years,” Paul, a Republican, told Fox News’ Dr. Mark Siegel in his first on-camera interview since the attack.

“After my ribs were broken then he said things to me to try to indicate why he was unhappy but I think the, I guess to me the bottom line is it isn’t so important – if someone mugs you is it really justified for any reason,” Paul said.
