Senator Calls for Investigation Into Funding of Violent Protests

Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., on Sunday called for a Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into the funding of recent violent protests that have sprung up across the country, echoing statements made by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who was recently attacked while with his wife during the Republican National Convention. . .

Buck had first addressed the issue after Paul and his wife Kelley were accosted while returning from the RNC, on the way back to their hotel.

“If the Tea Party threatened a Democratic Senator and assaulted police officers like this, it would be leading CNN,” the Colorado Republican wrote on Friday. “Every conservative politician would be asked to condemn it. Where is the outrage?”

Paul commented on the issue in an opinion piece for Fox News published on Saturday.

He revealed some of the protesters were actually staying in the same hotel — and on the same floor — as he and his wife. Some were even as close as the next room. (Read more from “Senator Calls for Investigation Into Funding of Violent Protests” HERE)

Nancy Pelosi’s Daughter Just Endorsed Felony Assault Against Rand Paul

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., started the week by cynically blowing up a bipartisan compromise to deliver economic relief to millions of Americans whose livelihoods have been destroyed by mandated government pandemic shutdowns. And then her daughter added insult to injury by explicit endorsing violent felony assault against Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.

“Rand Paul’s neighbor was right,” Pelosi’s daughter Christine tweeted.

Pelosi was responding to a Washington Post congressional reporter writing on Twitter that Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney’s biggest concern about the Wuhan virus is contracting it and giving it to his wife who has Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Romney announced on Sunday he and fellow Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee would be self-isolating after being exposed to Paul who tested positive for the virus. (Read more from “Nancy Pelosi’s Daughter Just Endorsed Felony Assault Against Rand Paul” HERE)

WATCH: Rand Paul Reveals What He May Do with Ukraine Whistleblower

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) revealed on Tuesday that he may reveal the identity of the Ukraine whistleblower while speaking to a group of reporters and then doubled down on it later in the evening during an appearance on Fox News. . .

CNN reporter Suzanne Malveaux, apparently upset over the fact that Paul wanted transparency in Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, aggressively confronted Paul over the issue.

“The whistleblower laws they protect the whistleblower,” Malveaux said. “You know it’s illegal to out a whistleblower?”

Paul immediately corrected her, saying, “Actually, you see you’ve got that wrong.” . . .

Paul then proceeded to educate Malveaux on the laws surrounding the whistleblower.

Rand Paul Reveals the Reason GOP Killed Planned Parenthood Bill

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., dropped a truth bomb on an audience of pro-life conservative Christians last week when he revealed that Republican congressional leadership refused to take up legislation to defund Planned Parenthood because “we might win.”

Speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority” conference last week, Paul described how his 2018 amendment defunding Planned Parenthood was rejected by GOP leadership because they wanted Democratic votes for a massive spending package.

“We still lose in the legislation,” Paul said. “Sometimes we lose because the people who come to you and give you lip service and say, ‘Oh I’m pro-life, I’m pro-life,’ and then they don’t seem to vote that way.”

He continued:

Last year, I tried to attach to a spending bill a prohibition to have any money spent by Planned Parenthood. You know what happened? They sat me down, and one of the senior Republican senators said, “We cannot have the vote today.” I said, “Why?” He said, “We might win.”

There were audible gasps in the audience when Paul told his story.

“You have Republicans that are more concerned with spending money than protecting the unborn,” Paul told the audience.

Being pro-life in name only is a problem that’s not exclusive to politicians. Recall that in 2015, when conservatives were fighting to defund Planned Parenthood after the Center for Medical Progress exposed the abortion giant’s reprehensible practices, National Right to Life remained silent and stood by as GOP leadership killed the effort.

Rand Paul is speaking to a bigger problem than one failed effort to defund Planned Parenthood. Ruling class interests in Washington D.C. don’t want Planned Parenthood defunded, and right now those ruling class interests run the Republican Party. Pro-lifers need to pay attention. Rand Paul Blocks Resolution Calling for Release of Mueller Report

By Townhall. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) blocked a resolution Thursday that called for the public release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report after Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), a 2020 presidential hopeful, asked for unanimous consent in the Senate for the resolution. The measure passed the House by a 420-0 vote last month.

“We still have not seen the report,” Klobuchar said on the Senate floor. “I have urged the Department of Justice to release the report, and the administration should not delay in producing the report to Congress.”

Sen. Paul objected to Klobuchar’s motion, arguing that “we all want transparency,” but he would like the communications of officials in the Obama administration to be released first, including those of former CIA Director John Brennan and Former FBI Director James Comey, in relation to the beginning of the Russia probe. Rand Paul Accuses Obama Administration of Sending ‘Spies’ Into Trump’s Campaign

By Washington Examiner. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., accused the Obama administration’s intelligence community of having “spies” infiltrate the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

Paul claimed that a “source” shared with him the Justice Department’s attempts to retrieve information on the Trump campaign during the Obama administration. In particular, Paul alleged that former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and FBI Director James Comey “sent spies” to get information on the Trump campaign after they received the so-called Trump dossier.

The document contains salacious information about President Trump and his relationship with Russia.

“Well, my source tells me that the intelligence community, Obama’s intelligence community, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, they were frustrated because they had this Russian dossier but nobody believed it was real,” Paul said during an interview on Fox News on Thursday.

Former British spy Christopher Steele composed the dossier after being hired by opposition research firm Fusion GPS. A lawyer for the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee had hired the firm to conduct anti-Trump research. This Is How Rand Paul Will Vote Regarding National Emergency

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul said he will vote against a resolution in an attempt to terminate President Donald Trump’s national emergency for border wall funding.

Paul will join a group of three Republicans who have expressed their concerns with Trump’s declaration for a national emergency, saying they do not believe the president should be allowed to override Congress to such a degree.

“I can’t vote to give extraconstitutional powers to the President,” Paul said, to the Bowling Green Daily News Saturday. “I can’t vote to give the President the power to spend money that hasn’t been appropriated by Congress,” he continued. “We may want more money for border security, but Congress didn’t authorize it. If we take away those checks and balances, it’s a dangerous thing.” He was speaking to the Warren County Republican Party. . .

“As a U.S. senator, I cannot justify providing the executive with more ways to bypass Congress,” Tillis wrote in an op-ed for The Washington Post. “As a conservative, I cannot endorse a precedent that I know future left-wing presidents will exploit to advance radical policies that will erode economic and individual freedoms.” . . .

Democratic Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro introduced the resolution, which he said will pass the House, as 222 cosponsors have jumped on board. Castro sent out a tweet saying his resolution would terminate Trump’s national emergency. Democrats only need 218 supporters to pass the resolution. This Is the Latest Development in the Rand Paul Assault Case

A jury awarded Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul over $580,000 in damages Wednesday to compensate for the injuries he suffered after a neighbor attacked Paul in a dispute over lawn care.

The jury awarded $375,000 in punitive damages and $200,000 for pain and suffering, The Associated Press reported Wednesday. Paul was also given $7,834 for medical expenses, according to the AP. . .

The decision to compensate Paul for the trauma and injuries he endured comes after Boucher, 60, attacked Paul in November 2017 in a lawn dispute. The assault broke six of Paul’s ribs and bruised his lungs.

Boucher initially denied attacking the senator before admitting to Kentucky State Police that he had assaulted Paul. The dispute allegedly began after Paul placed a pile of brush near the property line separating his and Boucher’s residence.

After Boucher pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge in March 2018, he was sentenced to 30 days in prison and a year of supervised release, according to the AP. (Read more from “This Is the Latest Development in the Rand Paul Assault Case” HERE)

It’s War: Rand Paul Hits ‘Big Government’ Romney, Calls Trump an ‘Actual Conservative’

Washington is already taking sides in the battle between President Trump and incoming Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, with Trump ally Sen. Rand Paul slamming the 2012 GOP presidential nominee.

Paul, R-Ky., tweeted that Romney is a “Big Government Republican” and a faux conservative, and a top Paul aide said that Trump is delivering on his promises.

In reacting to Romney’s attack in the Washington Post on Trump, Paul also made clear that he does not think Romney, who is still to be sworn in as a new senator, has any affinity for former President Ronald Reagan. . .

In an afternoon conference call with reporters, Paul said that Romney’s personal attack was “virtue signaling” and a “minority position” among Republicans in the Senate. “I think this is going to be an anomaly,” he added. . .

Sergio Gor, Paul’s deputy chief of staff, told Secrets, “Sen. Rand Paul considers President Trump a friend, but beyond that, he is thrilled with his conservative policies, which have included historic tax cuts, massive regulation cuts, the appointment of constitutional jurists, and implementing an ‘America First’ foreign policy by focusing on America and not every problem around the world. This president is delivering on his promises, and moderate Republicans should work with him to fulfill even more.” (Read more from “It’s War: Rand Paul Hits ‘Big Government’ Romney, Calls Trump an ‘Actual Conservative'” HERE)
