WATCH: Trump Mocks DeSantis’s Twitter Troubles During Campaign Launch

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump mocked Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) over Twitter’s technical difficulties during his presidential campaign launch on the platform.

DeSantis’s Twitter Space with CEO Elon Musk started with extreme technical difficulties as the audio cut out repeatedly. They ultimately had to begin a new Twitter Space after several minutes of complications.

Trump took to his own platform, Truth Social, and shared a video, contrasting the Twitter Space glitches to his own campaign announcement at Mar-a-Lago in November before a room full of supporters and media. . .

DeSantis filed his paperwork to run for president with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) ahead of the Twitter Space. He also released an advertisement in which he touts a vision “to lead our Great American Comeback.”

Trump Reacts to DeSantis Joining 2024 Campaign

By Daily Caller. Former President Donald Trump reacted to Ron DeSantis officially announcing his 2024 bid on Wednesday, saying he hopes the Florida governor gets the “full experience” of being attacked by the left.

“I’d like to personally congratulate ‘Rob’ DeSanctimonious on finally announcing that he will be entering the race for President of the United States. Hopefully he will get the full experience of being attacked by the Marxists, Communists, and Radical Left Lunatics of our Country, without which he will never know the kind of job he is doing. These Lowlifes & Misfits are far worse than the leaders of hostile foreign countries. They must be soundly defeated in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump said.

The former president also posted two ads on Truth Social targeting the Florida governor around the time DeSantis was having technical difficulties with his Twitter space.

Technical Difficulties Plague DeSantis, Musk Twitter Spaces Campaign Launch

Technical issues plagued the beginning of highly anticipated presidential campaign launch of Gov. Ron DeSantis, as the initial Twitter Spaces audio continued to cut out prior to DeSantis even being introduced.

The Twitter Spaces call, scheduled to launch at 6 p.m. Eastern, began several minutes late as one unidentified voice whispered that it was “quiet.” David Sacks, the entrepreneur hosting the event, began to introduce Elon Musk and asserted that this was “historic” before the audio cut out. From then on, the audio continued to cut in out several times, with continued echoing and seemingly random voices — not the voice of the governor, whom the conversation was all about.

“I’d like to just introduce the folks in the room here. So it’s safe to say we wouldn’t be making history without the man sitting next to me, Elon Musk his decision to purchase this platform last year,” Sacks said, praising Musk before audio issues began to take over.

They continued to come up with reasons for the audio issues, asserting that they were “melting the serves,” which they viewed as a “good sign.” Eventually, the entire audio ended, leaving many listeners confuse in a state of silence.

DeSantis Officially Declaring Presidential Run During Event With Elon Musk

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis is officially entering the 2024 presidential race this week during a special event with Twitter owner Elon Musk.

The conversation between DeSantis and Musk will take place on Twitter at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. The conversation will be moderated by Republican donor David Sacks, who is supporter of DeSantis and a close ally of Musk. . .

Musk seemingly confirmed the report on the platform by retweeting a Fox News reporter who shared the news.

A source close to Musk told NBC News that Musk believes that former President Donald Trump is not capable of winning the White House in 2024 and that DeSantis is. “He’s interested in the future, and he’s interested in winning again,” the person said. Trump-DeSantis Unity Ticket Scores With Voters, Heightens GOP Chances to Beat Biden

Perhaps former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would be better off teaming up than fighting each other for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

A Trump-DeSantis unity ticket would handily defeat President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in a hypothetical general election matchup, according to a new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and Political Media Inc.

The survey found 51% of likely voters would pull the lever for Trump-DeSantis compared to 43% for Biden-Harris.

“Trump/DeSantis wins with women, independents, Hispanics and college grads and does historically well with African Americans,” said Larry Ward, President of Political Media Inc. He said that the unity ticket would also win the national popular vote, which would be a first for Republicans in 20 years.

Mr. Ward heads up the Constitutional Rights PAC which also runs “wewantdonron.com,” a website, whose goal is to promote the re-election of Mr. Trump with Mr. DeSantis as his running mate. (Read more from “Trump-DeSantis Unity Ticket Scores With Voters, Heightens GOP Chances to Beat Biden” HERE)

Poll: Trump Maintains Towering Lead Over Primary Field

Former President Donald Trump maintains a substantial lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in Morning Consult’s latest Republican presidential primary tracker poll.

The poll published on Tuesday shows that 56 percent of potential Republican primary voters back Trump for the nomination. He sits 34 points ahead of DeSantis, who has not announced a White House bid, at 22 percent. DeSantis has gained slightly compared to last week’s poll, which had him and the 45th president at 24 percent and 58 percent, respectively.

Beyond Trump and DeSantis, no other candidate commands double-digit support. Seven percent of respondents back former Vice President Mike Pence, followed by former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) in fourth place with four percent. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswmy is backed by three percent of the respondents, followed by former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) at two percent.

Govs. Greg Abbott (R-TX) and Kristi Noem (R-SD) tie at two percent, while Gov. Glen Youngkin (R-VA), who has declared he will not run, and former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) did not secure one percent of support. (Read more from “Poll: Trump Maintains Towering Lead Over Primary Field” HERE)

DeSantis Signs New Bills That Allow the Death Penalty for Pedophiles

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new package of crime bills into law on Monday, all of which are designed to keep criminals out of the streets.

The three bills target bail reforms being pushed by leftist prosecutors, increases penalties on fentanyl traffickers, and makes those who commit certain crimes against children eligible for the death penalty.

“Florida is a law-and-order state with a 50-year record low crime rate and double-digit year-over-year decreases in murder, burglary, and overall crime,” DeSantis said in a statement. “For three consecutive legislative sessions we have enacted tough-on-crime policies, and this year we are continuing to implement measures to protect our communities and keep Florida safe, with a particular emphasis on keeping criminals in jail and throwing the book at pedophiles.”

House Bill 1627 addresses “bail reforms” through a variety of actions, including requiring the Florida Supreme Court to develop a uniform statewide bond schedule by the end of the year.

The bill prohibits judges from setting a lower bond amount than the uniform state bond, prohibits a defendant from being released prior to their first appearance in court if they have been arrested for a violent or heinous crime, and adds a series of crimes to the state’s list of “dangerous crimes.” (Read more from “DeSantis Signs New Bills That Allow the Death Penalty for Pedophiles” HERE)

Former GOP Rep Trashes Ron DeSantis for Supposedly Not Being Friendly While in Congress

A former Republican congressman from Michigan trashed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for not being friendly and personable during their time serving on the same committee in Congress.

David Trott, the former Michigan representative, “sat right next to” the Florida governor on the House Foreign Affairs Committee for two years and never heard a “single word” out of DeSantis, he told Politico. Trott slammed the governor for being “arrogant” and an “a**hole,” and wasn’t shocked that so many Florida representatives are backing former President Donald Trump in 2024 instead of DeSantis.

“I go to my first [House Foreign Affairs Committee] hearing early, and DeSantis showed up right at the gavel time and didn’t say hello or introduce himself,” Trott said. “And then the next hearing, the same thing happened. I think the third time it happened, I thought, ‘Oh, this guy’s not ever going to say hello to me.’”

Trott, who was a freshman member at the time, expected DeSantis to introduce himself, and when he didn’t, Trott took the initiative, he told Politico. While Trott said he realized that the governor has “talent” and is able to bolster voters by advancing “hot button issues,” he said DeSantis lacked a friendly personality.
“If you’re going to go into politics, kind of a fundamental skill that you should have is likability. I don’t think [he] has that,” Trott said. “He never developed any relationships with other members that I know of. You’d never see him talking on the floor with other people or palling around. He’s just a very arrogant guy, very focused on Ron DeSantis.”

Trott said the governor’s “awkward” interactions are playing out in his “pre-presidential campaign” among the Florida congressmembers, as many have thrown their support behind Trump, he told Politico. The former president has the backing of Reps. John Rutherford, Brian Mast, Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, Greg Steube, Cory Mills and Byron Daniels, while DeSantis only has the endorsement of Rep. Laurel Lee. (Read more from “Former GOP Rep Trashes Ron DeSantis for Supposedly Not Being Friendly While in Congress” HERE)

Donald Trump Posts Scorched-Earth Rant Against Ron ‘Desanctus,’ Blasts Gov’s ‘Political Stunt’ Against Disney

Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Florida Gov. Ron “DeSanctus” is “being absolutely destroyed” in his ongoing feud with Disney and suggested that the House of Mouse could pull out of the Sunshine State completely.

“DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney. His original P.R. plan fizzled, so now he’s going back with a new one in order to save face,” the 76-year-old former president wrote on his messaging platform Truth Social, using one of his preferred nicknames for the 44-year-old governor.

“Disney’s next move will be the announcement that no more money will be invested in Florida because of the Governor – In fact, they could even announce a slow withdrawal or sale of certain properties, or the whole thing. Watch!,” Trump added. “That would be a killer.”

“In the meantime, this is all so unnecessary, a political STUNT! Ron should work on the squatter MESS!,” the 45th president went on.

DeSantis and the entertainment behemoth have been at loggerheads since last year, when the company first spoke out against legislation the governor signed banning discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade classrooms. ‘That Is a Fraud’: DeSantis Blasts Trans Swimmer Lia Thomas

Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis took a swipe at male athletes who claim to be transgender “women” by slamming them as “frauds” on Friday.

Speaking at Liberty University, DeSantis took specific aim at transgender University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas. Though he did not use the swimmer’s name, there was no doubt about who DeSantis meant to reference.

“It is wrong to have a swimmer compete for three years on the men’s swim team, switch to the women’s team, and then win the women’s national championship,” DeSantis told his audience, Fox News reported. “That is a fraud. That is wrong.”

The comments perfectly line up with the sudden championship swimming year experienced by Thomas. Born as William Thomas, the athlete was an entirely mediocre swimmer on the UPenn men’s swimming team for three years. But after taking a year off to “transition” to a female, Thomas rejoined the UPenn swimming program on the women’s team and was suddenly the school’s top woman swimmer. Thomas won the 2022 500 freestyle national championship after a season of multiple top times in the sport. (Read more from “‘That Is a Fraud’: DeSantis Blasts Trans Swimmer Lia Thomas” HERE)

On Cusp of Presidential Run, Florida Gov. DeSantis Signs Ban on Abortion After 6 Weeks

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who will need the support of evangelical voters if he enters the 2024 Republican presidential race, signed a bill Thursday evening imposing one of the nation’s strictest abortion limits.

The Heartbeat Protection Act was passed by the Republican-led Florida House earlier Thursday in a 70-40 vote and headed to the governor’s desk. Mr. DeSantis gave his approval after having signaled last month that he would sign it into law.

“We are proud to support life and family in the state of Florida,” he said.

The measure bans abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, with some exceptions, aligning Florida with a dozen other Republican-led states that have moved to significantly restrict abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and returned the issue to states.

Mr. DeSantis’ signing the bill will encourage the Republican Party’s pro-life evangelical base, which could help propel him in the early primary contests. (Read more from “On Cusp of Presidential Run, Florida Gov. DeSantis Signs Ban on Abortion After 6 Weeks” HERE)
