John Durham Expands Russian Collusion Hoax Investigation

. . . Barr has appointed Durham a special counsel to ensure his work can continue into the next administration. Now, we’re hearing that Durham is expanding his team (via Fox News):

Special Counsel John Durham is expanding his team and making “excellent progress” on his investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, a federal law enforcement official familiar with the investigation told Fox News.

Fox News has learned that Durham, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, who Barr appointed in October as special counsel, is adding prosecutors to his team. . .

Fox News reported in May that Jeff Jensen, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri who was tapped by the Justice Department in February to review the case of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, was helping with Durham’s investigation. President Trump pardoned Flynn last month.

Also in May, Fox News reported that now former acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Timothy Shea was also assisting with components of Durham’s investigation.

REVEALED: FBI Used Left-Wing Conspiracy Theory to Spy on Trump Campaign Adviser; Russia Investigation – Declassify Records, Public Has a Right to the Whole Truth; Trump Calls FBI Investigators in Russia Probe ‘Human Scum’ (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. Newly declassified documents show that in order to build its dubious case of Russian collusion to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court, James Comey’s FBI utilized the misleading Democratic Party talking point that Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign had the Republican Party platform gutted so as to “not provide defensive weapons to Ukraine.”

Last Thursday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham released a trove of documents from the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Trump’s campaign, including a less redacted version of Comey’s FISA warrant applications to spy on Page, who served as a tangential adviser to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

The declassified sections underscore that in order to obtain four successive warrants to spy on Page, the FBI relied heavily on the Christopher Steele dossier alleging debunked Russian collision charges. The dossier was produced by Fusion GPS, which was paid for its anti-Trump work by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

One section shows just how thin the FBI’s arguments to the FISA court were in a bid to build a background narrative alleging Russian collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. This narrative was successfully utilized by the FBI to obtain four successive warrants to spy on Page. Comey personally signed three of the four warrant applications.

The disclosure reveals that the FISA warrant cites a “July 2016 article in an identified news organization” claiming that Trump’s campaign “worked behind the scenes to make sure” the GOP “platform would not call for giving weapons to Ukraine to fight Russian and rebel forces, contradicting the view of almost all [the Republican Party’s] foreign policy leaders.” (Read more from “Revealed: FBI Used Left-Wing Conspiracy Theory to Spy on Trump Campaign Adviser” HERE)

David Bossie: Russia Investigation – Declassify Records, Public Has a Right to the Whole Truth

By Fox News. Newly declassified footnotes from the Department of Justice Inspector General’s inflammatory report shed new light on the FBI’s disturbing handling of the Steele dossier, the campaign opposition research file against then-candidate Donald Trump.

The footnotes show the FBI was warned that some of the information compiled by ex-British spy Christopher Steele could have been part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

The report issued in December by Inspector General Michael Horowitz details how Steele put together his thoroughly debunked Russian dossier in the summer of 2016 and weaponized it for political gain. That dossier became the basis for surveillance against the Trump campaign. Horowitz ultimately found 17 “errors or omissions” in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance applications against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

The significant disclosure about the footnotes goes straight to one of the central questions of this four-year-long disgrace. Since the FBI was aware of the Russian disinformation campaign as it pertained to Steele’s work and knew Steele was working on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, why did they plow forward with the Crossfire Hurricane investigation and the abusive FISA warrants targeting Page? Trump Calls FBI Investigators in Russia Probe ‘Human Scum’

By The Hill. President Trump on Sunday lashed out at FBI leadership over the origins of the investigation into Russia’s election interference, calling investigators who led the probe “human scum.”

Trump made the remarks during a White House briefing after being asked about a pair of his former associates who were sentenced to prison following charges stemming from former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Asked whether he’d pardon Paul Manafort and Roger Stone so they wouldn’t be exposed to the coronavirus while in prison, Trump said, “You’ll find out.”

Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, was sentenced to prison last year following crimes uncovered by Mueller’s investigation. Stone, a longtime adviser to Trump, was sentenced to three years in prison in February for lying to Congress and witness tampering.

How Adam Schiff Buried Testimony Helpful to Trump

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who helped lead House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment effort, reportedly withheld evidence beneficial to President Trump from the White House and the American public in the Russia-collusion investigation.

Investigative reporter John Solomon at Just the News reported Schiff declared absolute ownership of the transcripts of witness testimony.

Schiff ordered in a March 26, 2019, letter to then-Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats: “Under no circumstances shall ODNI, or any other element of the Intelligence Community (IC), share any HPSCI (House Permanent Select Committee) transcripts with the White House, President Trump or any persons associated with the White House or the President.” . . .

However, when the Democrats won the House majority, Schiff took his unilateral action, writing to Coats.

In the letter, he ordered “that the witness transcripts — some of which contained exculpatory evidence for President Trump’s team — not be shared with Trump or White House lawyers even if the declassification process required such sharing,” Solomon reported. Declassified Evidence: Russia DID NOT Try to Help Elect Trump in 2016; ‘Misdeeds’ of FBI Now Include Inappropriate Cell-Phone Photos

By The Blaze. It has become conventional “wisdom” on the left that Russia wanted Trump to win in 2016, and therefore they helped his campaign. The latter belief was debunked by the Mueller report—though many on the left still believe it. The theory that Russia wanted Trump to win has also persisted, but newly declassified evidence suggesting that Russia was spreading false information about Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign “is calling into question the Obama administration’s intelligence assessment that Moscow was trying to help the Republican win the 2016 election,” according to a report from Just The News’s John Solomon.

Evidence recently declassified by DNI Richard Grenell and Attorney General Barr revealed that as early as July 2016 British intelligence operative and FBI informant Christopher Steele was involved in an FBI investigation of Trump. The same evidence showed that the FBI was repeatedly warned that Steele was susceptible to Russia disinformation and that U.S. intelligence had “concluded some of his Hillary Clinton-funded dossier’s claims about Trump were false information planted by Moscow’s intelligence services.”

Experts agreed that efforts by Russia to provide false negative information about Trump to Christopher Steele “undercut the notion that Moscow was trying to defeat Clinton and help Trump.” (Read more from “Declassified Evidence: Russia DID NOT Try to Help Elect Trump in 2016” HERE)

‘Misdeeds’ of FBI Now Include Inappropriate Cell-Phone Photos

By WND. It’s already well documented that the FBI under the Obama administration used a bogus, political opposition-research “dossier” based on anonymous Russian sources to obtain warrants to spy on the Trump administration.

Now, according to recently declassified information in Michael Horowitz’s inspector general report, FBI agents violated the privacy of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page by taking photographs of personal materials that had nothing to do with the investigation.

Investigative reporter John Solomon at Just the News writes the “list of FBI misdeeds in the Russia investigation keeps piling higher.”

“In addition to filing inaccurate Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants, hiding evidence of innocence from the courts and falsifying a government document, the bureau collected inappropriate cell phone photos during two secret premises searches in summer 2017 while spying on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.” (Read more from “‘Misdeeds’ of FBI Now Include Inappropriate Cell-Phone Photos” HERE)

It’s Full Speed Ahead for GOP Congressional Probes Into Origins of Russia Investigation; Democrats Request Probe of Barr’s Remarks on Firing of Intelligence Community IG

By PJ Media. Lost in the coronavirus crisis and Congress’s multi-trillion-dollar bailout of Americans has been some shocking revelations about the FBI’s actions in starting the investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to the Kremlin.

Recently declassified footnotes in the inspector general’s report on FISA abuses show the FBI to have knowingly disseminated Russian disinformation using the Steele Dossier as part of the basis for beginning the investigation. This has given new impetus to Senate investigations into how the effort to tie the Trump campaign to Russian intelligence got it so wrong. . .

The Hill:

Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), seizing on newly declassified details of a Justice Department watchdog report, are asking FBI Director Christopher Wray to hand over all records related to “Crossfire Hurricane,” the name for the counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia.

“We are deeply troubled by the Crossfire Hurricane team’s awareness of and apparent indifference to Russian disinformation, as well as by the grossly inaccurate statements by the FBI official in charge of the investigation and its supervisory intelligence analyst,” the two GOP senators wrote Thursday in a letter to Wray.

Democrats Request Probe of Barr’s Remarks on Firing of Intelligence Community IG

By The Hill. Democratic Sens. Mark Warner (Va.) and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) are calling on Justice Department watchdogs to investigate Attorney General William Barr’s comments about the firing of intelligence community Inspector General Michael Atkinson.

Warner and Feinstein — the top Democrats on the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees, respectively — sent a letter Friday to Jeffrey Ragsdale, acting director of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Professional Responsibility, and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz arguing that Barr has “misstated key facts.”

“This is a disservice to ICIG Atkinson. It also raises broader questions about whether Attorney General Barr is following Department policies and rules of professional conduct that demand candor and impartiality from lawyers, particularly those who serve the public trust,” the senators wrote

“We request that you investigate whether Attorney General Barr’s statements in matters involving the interests of the President violate applicable Justice Department policies and rules of professional conduct,” they added. The Deep State’s Vendetta Against General Flynn Led to the Russia Collusion Hoax

Long before he met Donald Trump in August 2015, Lieutenant General Michael Flynn was a man marked by the Obama administration.

To them, he was a dangerous ticking bomb because of his deep intelligence knowledge and his outspoken opposition to President Obama’s cavalier attitude toward the resurgent threat of terrorism as represented by the rise of the Islamic State.

Already under the watchful eyes of U.S. and British intelligence for his contacts with Russians, Flynn’s initial meeting with Trump triggered a cascade of events that would eventually lead to Flynn’s coerced guilty plea for lying to the FBI and the entire Trump-Russia collusion hoax investigation.

In August 2012, during Flynn’s tenure as director, the Defense Intelligence Agency released an internal, classified report predicting the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Just three months before the 2012 election, candidate Obama did not want to hear that the war in Iraq was about to reignite thanks to his troop withdrawal and that al-Qaida in Iraq (now ISIS) was on the rise after declaring at the Democratic National Convention that he had “end[ed] the war in Iraq” and put “al-Qaida … on the path to defeat.”

Even as late as January 2014, Obama was still ignoring the threat, famously referring to the Islamic State as the “JV team.”

Punished for being correct, Flynn was removed from his position as DIA Director and forced into early retirement from the military on Aug. 7, 2014, ironically the day Obama announced that U.S. warplanes had begun bombing Islamic State targets, and U.S. troops would soon be dispatched back to Iraq.

Flynn, however, remained on the Obama administration’s radar screen, his past and occurring interactions with Russians being carefully logged by U.S. and British intelligence.

That surveillance would later provide “evidence” of Russian collusion including Flynn’s attendance at a December 2015 dinner in Moscow to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Kremlin-linked English-language news service RT, where he was seated next to Vladimir Putin.

The key and earliest known connection to the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, however, occurred in February 2014, six months before Obama fired him as DIA Director.

Flynn had traveled to England to speak at the Cambridge Intelligence Seminar. It was at that event that individuals, who eventually became key figures in the Russia hoax, appeared, such as Stefan Halper and Sir Richard Dearlove.

According to Chuck Ross of The Daily Caller:

“Dearlove, who served as chief of MI6 from 1999 to 2004, had contact during the 2016 [U.S. Presidential] campaign with dossier author Christopher Steele. He is also a close colleague of Stefan Halper, the alleged FBI and CIA informant who established contact with several Trump campaign advisers. Dearlove and Halper attended a Cambridge political event in July 2016 where Halper had his first contact with Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.“

The actual inflection point came in early 2016 when the Obama administration’s vendetta against Flynn and his alleged Russian sympathies evolved into the Trump-Russia collusion hoax after Trump piled up primary victories.

It was long before George Papadopolous arrived on the scene, the individual often cited by the Deep State as the trigger for the Russia collusion investigation, in particular his meeting with Australian diplomat Alexander Downer in May 2016 in which “damaging material” about Hillary Clinton held by the Russians was allegedly discussed.

The formation of CIA Director John Brennan’s inter-agency Trump task force, which was immediately leaked to the BBC, much to Brennan’s consternation, coincided with Flynn becoming a foreign policy advisor to the Trump campaign as described by a Reuters article on Feb. 27, 2016, titled “Trump being advised by ex-U.S. Lieutenant General who favors closer Russia ties.”

That Brennan-led task force included not only U.S. intelligence agencies, but likely also foreign services such as Britain’s CIA, MI6, and its National Security Agency equivalent GCHQ, which had access to NSA’s database of recorded telephone conversations and emails.

No doubt, Brennan’s task force employed the services of a network of intelligence freelancers located in Europe, some of whom seem to have had connections with the British secretive strategic intelligence and advisory firm, Hakluyt, founded by former MI6 members and retaining close ties to British Intelligence services.

Those allegedly connected to Hakluyt are Stefan Halper, Sir Richard Dearlove, Alexander Downer and John Brennan, who was photographed meeting with Hakluyt personal in 2018.

Hakluyt’s top executives come from MI6 and it has retired GCHQ officials as board members. Perhaps coincidentally, listed on the board of Hakluyt’s parent company, Holdingham, is Louis Susman, formerly Obama’s ambassador to Great Britain, a major fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidates and reportedly a close friend of Hillary Clinton.

The scheme appears to have involved foreign sources in an artificial feedback loop, gathering unsubstantiated information to support the Russian collusion hoax or feeding back planted CIA information that could then be “legitimately” passed on to the FBI to generate a counterintelligence investigation, where Trump personnel or Trump himself could be interrogated.

Parallel coordination with sympathetic media outlets was an obvious additional option. It is not unlike a disreputable journalist providing disinformation to another journalist, then using that story as verification of his preconceived notions.

Another peculiarity of the Flynn saga occurred during the first meeting between then-President Obama and President-elect Donald Trump held within 48 hours after the 2016 election. Among all the critical national security issues that could have been discussed, Obama offered two pieces of advice, one regarding North Korea and the other an oddly out-of-place personnel employment recommendation — don’t hire Michael Flynn.

The rest is history.

Seeing the indictment of Flynn, Trump’s national security advisor, as the first step towards impeachment, the Deep State applied unscrupulous, if not illegal, tactics to coerce a guilty plea.

In December 2017, Flynn did plead guilty to charges that he lied to the FBI about his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in what many regard as an “ambush” interview conducted by Peter Strzok, who was later fired from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team.

Now it appears that the FBI may have tampered with the notes from his 2017 interview, during which they claim Flynn lied.

The time is long past that the case against Lieutenant General Michael Flynn be dismissed and the real Deep State perpetrators of entrapment and criminal conspiracy be investigated.

Review Into Origins of the Russia Investigation Is Now a Criminal Inquiry

The U.S. Justice Department has opened a criminal inquiry into the origins of the Russia investigation, according to The New York Times. The Justice Department has been conducting an administrative review into the origins of the Russian investigation, but that review has now shifted into a criminal inquiry.

Now that a criminal investigation has been opened, prosecutor Durham has expanded powers to subpoena witnesses and impanel a grand jury, as noted by The Times.

Robert Mueller Used Cell GPS to Track Trump Associates

By The Washington Times. Robert Mueller says he was able to pinpoint security company executive Erik Prince’s precise location for several hours in January 2017 by matching his mobile phone signal to a cell site near Trump Tower in New York City. . .

The Prince narrative is one instance in unredacted sections of the report in which Mr. Mueller’s team explicitly discloses cellphone tracking. It raises the question of whether the FBI applied the process to other investigative subjects — a phone’s GPS signal can disclose its exact location within a few feet. One of the first requests the FBI makes when confronting subjects is to ask for their electronic devices.

The fact Mr. Mueller could pinpoint Mr. Prince’s exact whereabouts suggest he used GPS readouts, which prosecutors can subpoena from cellular service providers.

“I got the distinct impression that they had all my electronic communications and they operated with a confidence borne of a complete complement of the communications of everyone else,” Michael Caputo, a former Trump campaign adviser, told The Washington Times. . .

Trump-Russia’s most infamous “whereabouts” question centers on Michael Cohen, a former Trump attorney who is now in prison for tax fraud. The Democratic Party-financed dossier alleged that Cohen participated in election interference by traveling to Prague in August 2016 to meet with operatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Alan Dershowitz: ‘The Mueller report should never have been written’

By Fox News. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on the Russia investigation should never have been written, according to Alan Dershowitz.

The Constitution does not explicitly provide for special counsels or special prosecutors, Dershowitz said Tuesday on “The Ingraham Angle.”

He added such offices are “inconsistent” with the founding document, adding that there wasn’t a pretense for the several-hundred-page conclusion to the investigation into President Trump.

Dershowitz also claimed Democrats have no legal right to have Mueller testify before them.

“Prosecutors have a right to say only one thing: We have concluded there’s no evidence sufficient to charge the president with Russian collusion or obstruction of justice, period. I’m taking no questions, I’m making no public report. I’m giving my findings to the attorney general. (Read more from “Alan Dershowitz: ‘The Mueller report should never have been written'” HERE)

Meadows Drops a Major Truth Bomb About the FBI’s Involvement in the Russia Probe

By Townhall. House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) on Friday talked about the Russia investigation with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“Within 60 days of them opening the investigation, prior to Bob Mueller coming on, the FBI and the [Department of Justice] knew that Christopher Steele was not credible, the dossier was not true and George Papadopoulos was innocent,” Meadows explained. “When you look at that foundation, it’s all built on a foundation of sand. That’s going to start to show up very soon.”

The bureau relied on Christopher Steele’s dossier, which was conducted on behalf of the Clinton campaign, to obtain a surveillance warrants against former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page. The FBI refused to do their due diligence and actually verify what was said in the document. They treated it like gold, like absolutely everything in it was true. And that’s how we got the Russia probe.

Rosenstein Predicts Barr’s Critics May One Day Realize His Obstruction Decision Was ‘Reasonable’

By Washington Examiner. Rod Rosenstein predicts Attorney General William Barr’s detractors who criticize him for his handling of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation may come around one day.

No stranger to controversy himself, the former deputy attorney general stressed to the New York Times that Barr made the right call when he determined there was insufficient evidence to initiate criminal prosecution against President Trump for obstruction of justice.

“A few years from now, after all of this is resolved, some of Barr’s critics might conclude that his approach was a reasonable way to navigate through a difficult situation,” he said.

A redacted version of the report Mueller’s report laid out 10 instances in which Trump might have obstructed justice, but Mueller declined to make a determination on the matter, citing a Justice Department guideline that sitting presidents cannot be indicted. Mueller also did not find sufficient evidence to establish criminal conspiracy took place between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

Before the report’s release in April, Barr released a summary of its principal conclusions which said he and Rosenstein decided there was not sufficient evidence to establish an obstruction crime had occurred. Still, although Trump says he has been vindicated, Democrats argue Mueller’s refusal to clear Trump on obstruction provides them a road map to continue to investigate and possibly seek impeachment. Shocker: Steele Refuses to Speak With Prosecutor About Origins of Trump Probe

By PJ Media. Reuters is reporting that one of the pivotal characters involved in the origins of the Russia investigation will refuse to speak to the prosecutor appointed by Attorney General William Barr to investigate the matter.

Christopher Steele, author of the infamous dossier accusing Trump of colluding with the Russians, will not talk to John Durham, named by Barr to examine the origins of the investigations into Trump and his campaign team, according to a business associate of Steele’s.

Steele’s dossier, used by the FBI to gain a FISA warrant against members of the Trump 2016 presidential campaign, has never been verified and has largely been discredited by other sources. . .

Steele would certainly have embarrassing questions to answer if he was interviewed by Durham. Other intel officials, ordered by Trump to cooperate in the probe, might be equally reluctant to share what they know. British Ex-Spy Will Not Talk to U.S. Prosecutor Examining Trump Probe Origins: Source

By Reuters. The former British spy who produced a dossier describing alleged links between Donald Trump and Russia will not cooperate with a prosecutor assigned by U.S. Attorney General William Barr to review how the investigations of Trump and his 2016 election campaign began, a source with knowledge of the situation said.

Christopher Steele, a former Russia expert for the British spy agency MI6, will not answer questions from prosecutor John Durham, named by Barr to examine the origins of the investigations into Trump and his campaign team, said the source close to Steele’s London-based private investigation firm, Orbis Business Intelligence.

Trump has given Barr broad authority to declassify intelligence materials related to the investigations. Last week Trump ordered the heads of U.S. spy and law enforcement agencies to cooperate with Durham. . .

Democrats accuse Trump of trying to turn attention away from the findings of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, whose report into Russian interference in the 2016 election described numerous links between the Trump campaign and Moscow, and said Trump had repeatedly tried to impede the investigation.

The source close to Steele’s company said Steele would not cooperate with Durham’s probe but might cooperate with a parallel inquiry by the Justice Department’s Inspector General into how U.S. law enforcement agencies handled pre-election investigations into both Trump and Clinton.
