Former Zelensky Spox: Ukraine Must Sign Peace Deal To Avoid Even Greater Losses

Things are very bad in Ukraine right now. The former spokeswoman for Ukraine’s clearly overmatched comedian leader says things could get a lot worse if Ukraine’s government walks away from peace this time.

“Every subsequent deal for Ukraine will only be worse — because we are losing. We are losing people, territory, and the economy,” Iuliia Mendel, press secretary for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from 2019 to 2021, wrote in an X post this weekend as negotiators went back and forth in marathon peace talks.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday told multiple news outlets that he was pleased with the “tremendous amount of progress” toward finalizing a U.S.-brokered peace deal to end the Russia-Ukraine war, but more needed to be done to get there.

As the Trump-hating BBC reported, Ukraine and its friends in Europe weren’t happy with previously leaked proposals, “seen as favouring Russia and welcomed by [Russian President] Vladimir Putin as ‘the basis’ for settlement.” Zelensky earlier said his bomb-battered country and his fellow citizens “might face a very difficult choice: either losing dignity, or risk losing a key partner” — President Donald Trump.

The Washington Post reported the leaked draft would force Ukraine to reduce its army and turn over land that Russia has not taken. That proposal also would prohibit NATO troops. U.S. officials said the draft has been updated, with Zelensky sounding more confident that “President Trump’s team is hearing us.” (Read more from “Former Zelensky Spox: Ukraine Must Sign Peace Deal To Avoid Even Greater Losses” HERE)

Kremlin Sinks Trump’s Hope of Peace Deal by Thanksgiving

Russia has sunk Donald Trump’s hope that a peace deal in Ukraine can be achieved by Thanksgiving after the Kremlin said Europe’s counterproposal was not constructive and did not work for Moscow.

In a sign that both sides remain far apart, the Kremlin said that Europe’s demands for Ukraine would not be accepted by Vladimir Putin but said that an earlier proposal by the US seemed “quite acceptable to us”.

Trump claimed on Monday that progress was being made in peace talks in Geneva between US and Ukrainian officials. Washington and Kyiv said in a joint statement that they were working to narrow the gaps in the 28-point peace plan revealed by the US last week.

The US president had given Ukraine until Thanksgiving, this Thursday, to agree to the plan – but US officials later indicated the deadline could change.

Some EU leaders met to discuss Ukraine on the sidelines of an EU-African Union summit in Luanda on Monday, with others dialling in via video conference. (Read more from “Kremlin Sinks Trump’s Hope of Peace Deal by Thanksgiving” HERE)

US Peace Plan Asks Almost Nothing of Russia, Leaving Some American Officials Questioning Why Kyiv Would Accept It

The US peace plan to end the war in Ukraine contains almost no concessions from Russia aside from it abandoning its vow to take over the entire country — and American officials say they can’t see why Kyiv would accept the proposal.

The plan, devised by President Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, after consultations with both Ukrainian and Russian officials, would see Kyiv surrendering the entirety of its Donbas region.

The handed-over area would include territory that the Kremlin hasn’t even been able to secure for more than a decade, since it made a separate land grab for it in 2014.

The proposed pact also calls for Ukraine to pledge to never join NATO, shrink its armed forces from its current estimated 900,000 to 600,000 personnel — and grant amnesty for all parties involved in wartime actions, eliminating any future legal claims over Russian war crimes.

Some US officials and experts characterized the plan as a no-win for Kyiv. (Read more from “US Peace Plan Asks Almost Nothing of Russia, Leaving Some American Officials Questioning Why Kyiv Would Accept It” HERE)

Several NATO Nations Scramble Jets as Russian Airstrike Kills At Least 20 Including Children

The air forces of several NATO states were scrambled overnight to protect the airspace of the alliance along its eastern border as Russia launched one of its deadliest air strikes against Ukraine’s western regions of the war so far.

Polish, Romanian, German, Spanish, Norwegian, and Dutch fighter jets were scrambled in two deployments in airspace bordering Ukraine over Poland and Romania and the Russian armed forces hammered western Ukraine. According to Kyiv, Russia launched 476 drones, 47 cruise missiles and one ballistic missiles in strikes across the country, but particularly on Western cities Ternopil and Lviv.

At least 20 people have been found dead in Ternopil, which is approximately 225 miles west of Ukrainian capital Kyiv and 110 miles short of the Polish border. Of the killed, at least two are children, and a further 66 were wounded including 16 children in the strikes which badly damaged two apartment blocks.

Ukraine said it scrambled its own Western-built jet fighters including U.S.-made F-16s and French Mirage-2000 jets to shoot down Russian missiles. In all, Kyiv said 41 cruise missiles were shot down, 10 of them by Western-supplied Ukraine Air Force jets.

The BBC notes the unusually large and deadly Russian air raid came one day after Ukraine said it had used U.S.-made ATACMS missiles against targets inside Russia, the first time this has happened under the Trump Presidency. Jeffrey Epstein Alleged to Broker Secret Back-Channel Between Ehud Barak and Vladimir Putin

Leaked emails allegedly reveal that Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, served as a behind-the‐scenes “fixer” arranging diplomatic contacts between former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Russia during the height of the Syrian Civil War (2013-2016).

According to the hacking group known as the Handala Hacking Team, and published by Distributed Denial of Secrets via Drop Site News, the emails between Barak and Epstein show the following:

Epstein arranged a private meeting between Barak and Putin in the summer of 2013, to explore a Russia-led solution for removing Syrian President Bashar al‑Assad, with Israel’s interests at stake.

On February 21, 2014, Epstein wrote to Barak:

“with civil unrest exploding in ukraine, syria, somolia [sic], libya, and the desperation of those in power, isn’t this perfect for you.”

Barak responded:

“You’re right [in] a way. But not simple to transform it into a cash flow. A subject for Saturday.”

Epstein’s line frames multiple global hotspots (Ukraine, Syria, Somalia, Libya) in a single sweeping sentence—“the desperation of those in power” being ripe for opportunity. This suggests he was positioning Barak to exploit geopolitical unrest not purely for statesmanship but for something like strategic positioning or business advantage.

Epstein allegedly offered tactical advice on how to pressure the Barack Obama administration into military action against Iran after Syria, writing:

“I would use the opportunity to compare it with iran… the solutions become more compelx with time not less… hopefully someone suggests getting authorization now for Iran. the congress woudl do it.”

The communications also show Epstein advising Barak on business ventures—for example, coordinating with Russian-Israeli oligarch Viktor Vekselberg and the Renova Group for consultancy roles in Russia, again with Epstein’s help.

In short: the hacked emails portray Jeffrey Epstein not just as a financier and criminal, but as a clandestine intermediary in international diplomacy — working with Ehud Barak to engage Russia during a critical phase of the Syrian war. If substantiated, these revelations could reshape how we understand both Epstein’s global network and the murky corridors of back-channel diplomacy in the 2010s.

China and Russia Reportedly Using ‘Sex Warfare’ to Target Silicon Valley Tech Executives

In a chilling new development straight out of a Cold War thriller, reports suggest that China and Russia are deploying “beautiful women” to seduce top technology executives in Silicon Valley — all part of a broader espionage campaign aimed at stealing America’s most valuable trade secrets.

According to a report from The Times of London, female spies from both countries have been engaging in so-called “sex warfare,” with some even marrying and having children with their targets to establish long-term access to sensitive corporate and defense information.

“It’s the Wild West out there,” said Jeff Stoff, president of the Center for Research Security & Integrity (CRSI) and a former U.S. national security analyst. “China is targeting our startups, our academic institutions, our innovators, our DoD-funded research projects. There’s not enough oversight and action. It’s all intertwined as part of China’s economic warfare strategy — and we’ve not even entered the battlefield.”

The report claims that espionage efforts go far beyond traditional spying. Foreign operatives are said to be infiltrating the tech world through social media, startup competitions, and venture capital investments, exploiting the fast-paced and loosely regulated nature of Silicon Valley’s innovation ecosystem.

Five counterintelligence experts told The Times that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been hosting American startup competitions under the guise of “innovation exchanges” — allegedly to gain access to sensitive business plans and proprietary data.

One counterintelligence source revealed a particularly striking case: a “beautiful” Russian woman who worked for a U.S.-based aerospace company met and eventually married an American engineer, later having children with him. “Showing up, marrying a target, having kids with a target — and conducting a lifelong collection operation, it’s very uncomfortable to think about, but it’s so prevalent,” the source said.

Earlier this year, the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security warned that the CCP had carried out more than 60 espionage operations in the United States over the past four years — though intelligence officials suspect the real number is much higher.

The report also highlights past cases of intellectual property theft tied to China. In 2024, Klaus Pflugbeil of Ningbo, China, was sentenced to two years in prison after attempting to sell stolen Tesla technology for $15 million to undercover agents in Las Vegas. His alleged accomplice, Yilong Shao, remains at large.

The Commission on the Theft of American Intellectual Property estimates that trade secret theft costs the U.S. up to $600 billion annually, with China identified as the primary culprit.

Trump Administration Drastically Increases Sanctions on Russia in Effort to Push Ceasefire in Ukraine

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday a sweeping escalation of U.S. sanctions against Russia, aiming to pressure Moscow into agreeing to a ceasefire in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

In a statement released by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the administration said it was placing Rosneft Oil Company and Lukoil OAO — Russia’s two largest oil firms — under expanded sanctions pursuant to Executive Order 14024, which targets individuals and entities operating in Russia’s energy sector.

“Today’s actions increase pressure on Russia’s energy sector and degrade the Kremlin’s ability to raise revenue for its war machine and support its weakened economy,” the Treasury release stated.

The move blocks dozens of subsidiaries connected to Rosneft and Lukoil, including those involved in oil exploration, development, production, and refining. Any company in which either corporation holds a 50 percent or greater stake will now be subject to U.S. sanctions.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the sanctions were designed to halt the flow of money fueling the war. “Now is the time to stop the killing and for an immediate ceasefire,” Bessent said. “Given President Putin’s refusal to end this senseless war, Treasury is sanctioning Russia’s two largest oil companies that fund the Kremlin’s war machine.”

He added that the United States is prepared to impose even stricter measures if needed. “Treasury is prepared to take further action if necessary to support President Trump’s effort to end yet another war. We encourage our allies to join us and adhere to these sanctions.”

Speaking from the Oval Office alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump praised the sanctions package as one of the toughest yet.

“These are tremendous sanctions,” Trump said. “And we hope that they won’t be on for long. We hope that the war will be settled.”

Trump Scraps Meeting with Putin

The White House said on Tuesday that President Trump no longer plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a phone call between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday.

According to an official familiar with the situation, the Russians demonstrated a lack of willingness to align themselves with Trump’s plan for peace between Ukraine and Russia. The war has been ongoing for more than three years.

“Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Lavrov had a productive call,” a White House official told The New York Post on Tuesday. “Therefore, an additional-in-person meeting between the Secretary and Foreign Minister is not necessary, and there are no plans for President Trump to meet with President Putin in the immediate future.”

President Trump, following a phone call with Putin on Thursday, announced that Secretary Rubio and his Russian counterpart would lay the groundwork for the prospective meeting between the two leaders in Budapest, Hungary. (Read more from “Trump Scraps Meeting with Putin” HERE)

Zelensky Is Asked About ‘What Specific Concessions’ He Is Willing to Make to End Ukraine-Russia War

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was asked “what specific concessions” he would be willing to make in order to bring the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine to an end.

During a meeting between President Donald Trump and Zelensky at the White House on Friday, Cara Castronuova, a reporter with LindellTV, pointed out that Trump had just “brokered a peace deal in the Middle East” and pointed out that in order to do that, “both sides had to meet concessions.”

“Our President has stuck out his neck in many ways to make a peace deal for your war, as well,” Castronuova said to Zelensky during a meeting at the White House with President Donald Trump. “What specific concessions are you willing to make to end this war with Russia? Will you give up joining NATO?”

Castronuova continued to point out that “Americans have foreign war fatigue.”

Zelensky proceeded to question if Castronuova had aimed her question at him and then explained that both sides “need to sit and speak,” and added that there needed to be a “ceasefire.” (Read more from “Zelensky Is Asked About ‘What Specific Concessions’ He Is Willing to Make to End Ukraine-Russia War” HERE)

Melania Trump Secures Agreement With Russia On Displaced Ukrainian Children

First lady Melania Trump announced Friday that she secured an agreement with Russia on the reunification of Ukrainian children with their families.

Trump spoke for six minutes, sharing that she had been keeping an “open channel of communication” with Russian President Vladimir Putin over displaced Ukrainian children. She shared that Russia agreed to return Ukrainian children with their families, and in the 24 hours since the agreement, eight children have been returned.

“Each child has lived in turmoil because of the war in Ukraine,” Melania Trump said. “Three were separated from their parents and displaced to the Russian Federation because of frontline fighting. The other five were separated from family members across borders because of the conflict, including one young girl who has now been reunited from Ukraine to Russia.”

The first lady also said she had expressed concern over children who were displaced as minors but have since turned 18 years old. Russia has also agreed to return these children, she announced. (Read more from “Melania Trump Secures Agreement With Russia On Displaced Ukrainian Children” HERE)
