European Leader Confirms World War III Has Already Begun; Putin Stages Terrifying Nuclear Drills With Ballistic Missiles ‘Capable of Striking Britain’

By International Business Times. Russian President Vladimir Putin is in a “world war” with the West as he continues his invasion of Ukraine, an ally said Wednesday.

In an interview with independent Serbian TV Channel Pink, Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic, who has yet to condemn Putin for invading Ukraine, accused the West of sparking a “war” against Russia through the Ukrainian people.

“We should understand that amid the world war, all the talks that it’s a regional or a local war must be dropped. The entire Western world is fighting against Russia via Ukrainians. It is [a] global conflict,” Vucic said, according to Russia’s state-run news agency TASS. . .

While he has not mentioned the possibility of World War III, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently also warned against Russia possibly invading Asian and European countries, including Moldova and Poland, following the war in Ukraine.

In June, Zelensky warned the leaders of NATO that Russia could start invading other countries as well. (Read more from “European Leader Confirms World War III Has Already Begun” HERE)

Putin Stages Terrifying Nuclear Drills With Ballistic Missiles ‘Capable of Striking Britain’ at 15,000MPH

By The Sun UK. Vladimir Putin has staged terrifying nuclear drills with ballistic missiles “capable of striking Britain” at 15,000mph.

Mad Vlad’s men fired the road-launched intercontinental nuclear Yars missiles in a forest in western Siberia in another chilling warning to the West.

With a range of 7,500 miles, the missiles could strike Britain or anywhere in Europe with little notice.

The tests come amid heightened tension with the West over its involvement in the Ukraine war, and the near-daily threats by Putin’s propagandists to deploy atomic weapons.

“Over 100 pieces of hardware are taking part in the exercise,” a statement from the Russian defence ministry read. (Read more from “Putin Stages Terrifying Nuclear Drills With Ballistic Missiles ‘Capable of Striking Britain’ at 15,000MPH” HERE)

Jordan Peterson’s Russia-Ukraine Podcast Comments Go Viral

Jordan Peterson went viral on Monday . . . as he suggested on the latest episode of his podcast that Russia invaded Ukraine because the West is “degenerate.”

“And are we degenerate in a profoundly threatening manner? I think the answer to that may well be yes,” Peterson begins in the clip.

“The idea that we are ensconced in a culture war has become a rhetorical commonplace. How serious is that war?” he then asks.

“Is it serious enough to increase the probability that Russia, say, will be motivated to invade and potentially incapacitate Ukraine merely to keep the pathological west out of that country, which is a key part of the historically Russian sphere of influence?” Peterson then asks, setting up the topic for his Daily Wire podcast.

Peterson then adds, “To answer that question I’ll turn to the analysis of a recent sequence of significant events in the U.S. with broader ramifications for the development of political thought in the West.”

Ukraine: Russian General Killed With U.S.-Supplied Missiles

Ukraine has said it has killed another Russian general, following an attack in which Kyiv’s forces used American-supplied weapons.

Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesman for the Odessa regional military, wrote on Telegram about the “liquidation” of Major General Artem Nasbulin, the chief of staff of the 22nd Army Corps “after HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) missiles hit the headquarters in the Kherson region” of southern Ukraine.

It came as Ukraine released footage it said showed a HIMARS attack on a mobile command post in Tavriis’k, in the Kherson region.

If confirmed, Nasbulin could be the ninth Russian general to have died since the start of the invasion on February 24, according to one estimate. Ukraine’s claims that it has killed Russian commanders give its forces a considerable PR boost although most of them have not been confirmed by Moscow and Russia’s Defense Ministry, which Newsweek has contacted, rarely comments on such losses. UN Concludes Ukraine Bears Blame for Nursing Home Attack Originally Blamed on Russia

Two weeks after Russia invaded Ukraine in February, Russian forces assaulted a nursing home in the eastern region of Luhansk. Dozens of elderly and disabled patients, many of them bedridden, were trapped inside without water or electricity. . .

In a war awash in atrocities, the attack on the nursing home near the village of Stara Krasnyanka stood out for its cruelty. And Ukrainian authorities placed the fault squarely on Russian forces, accusing them of killing more than 50 vulnerable civilians in a brutal and unprovoked attack.

But a new U.N. report has found that Ukraine’s armed forces bear a large, and perhaps equal, share of the blame for what happened in Stara Krasnyanka, which is about 580 kilometers (360 miles) southeast of Kyiv. A few days before the attack, Ukrainian soldiers took up positions inside the nursing home, effectively making the building a target. U.S. Bolsters Long-Term Troop Presence in Europe as Russia-Ukraine War Drags On

The future of America’s long-term troop presence in Europe came into focus Wednesday as President Biden announced new plans to permanently place fresh U.S. personnel in Poland, air defense batteries in Italy and Germany, and a host of other steps as NATO reinforces its front line as relations deteriorate badly with Russia in the wake of Moscow‘s invasion of Ukraine.

The new deployments, unveiled during this week’s high-stakes NATO summit in Madrid, provide some answers to lingering questions about the Pentagon’s plans for its posture in Europe amid a Russia-Ukraine war that appears destined to drag on for months, or perhaps even years. The number of American forces in Europe has ballooned from about 65,000 to over 100,000 in the four months since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his attack on Ukraine, but military officials have been dogged by questions about how long those forces would remain on the continent and what metrics the Pentagon might use to determine when some could redeploy to other theaters or return home.

Wednesday’s announcement makes clear the U.S. is prepared to enhance its presence in Europe for the foreseeable future — a move that is sure to anger the Kremlin and ratchet up already sky-high tensions between Russia and the West.

“The United States and our allies, we are going to step up — we are stepping up. We’re proving that NATO is more needed now than it ever has been and is as important as it ever has been,” Mr. Biden said Wednesday. Ukraine LGBTQ Community Upset Over Russian Invasion

The official Pride parade in Kyiv was canceled this year after a decade of hard-fought efforts for more acceptance of LGBTQ people.

Before Russia invaded, Ukraine – a largely religious nation with a long history of oppression against sexual and gender expression – had increasingly become a rare bright spot for LGBTQ rights and a sanctuary of sorts for Eastern Europe. Ex-Soviet LGBTQ individuals would travel to experience a gay nightclub scene, especially in larger cities like Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa, where they could feel safer to be open.

Now, what would have been the 10th anniversary of the Equality March in Kyiv this month was relocated to Poland because of the ongoing war. (Read more from “Ukraine LGBTQ Community Upset Over Russian Invasion” HERE)

State Department Warns Russia: Attack on Lithuania Is Attack on U.S.

A new Russian threat to target “the residents of Lithuania” has drawn a sharp reminder of the American pledge to fight alongside any NATO allies that might come under attack.

“Lithuania is a member of the NATO alliance,” State Department spokesman Ned Price emphasized. ”We stand by the commitments that we have made to the NATO alliance. That includes, of course, a commitment to Article 5: That is the bedrock of the NATO alliance.”

Price prefaced that warning with a dismissive remark about “Russian saber-rattling or Russian bluster.” The pairing would seem to reflect how unease about heightened military tensions around the war in Ukraine has been conditioned by the recognition that Russia is far likelier to use such threats for propaganda purposes than to risk a direct clash with the trans-Atlantic alliance.

“It seems like it’s partially a Russian influence operation or psyops a little bit,” a senior European official told the Washington Examiner. (Read more from “State Department Warns Russia: Attack on Lithuania Is Attack on U.S.” HERE)

Ukraine Moves to Restrict Russian Culture as War Rages On

The Ukrainian parliament moved Sunday to further rid its country of Russian culture and influence, in a process referred to by some as “derussification,” by voting to pass a law that restricts certain Russian books and music in the country.

The law stops the printing of books by Russian citizens. There is an exception, however, if the Russian citizen is willing to give up their Russian passport and become a Ukraine citizen, then their books can still be printed. The ban also only applies to authors who held Russian citizenship after the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union.

The law also restricts books from being imported into Ukraine. Now, books printed in Russia and Belarus can no longer be imported, and special permission is required for the importation of books in Russian from any other countries.

The Ukrainian parliament did not stop at just books – the parliament also passed a law that stops all music by post-1991 Russian citizens from being played by media outlets and on public transportation. The law also requires TV and radio stations to play more Ukrainian-language speech and music content. (Read more from “Ukraine Moves to Restrict Russian Culture as War Rages On” HERE)

Russian TV Shows Video of U.S. Veterans Captured in Ukraine

Russian state television showed video Friday of two U.S. military veterans who went missing last week while fighting in Ukraine, confirming that the men were taken captive and raising fears about their fate.

Alex Drueke and Andy Huynh, both from Alabama, were believed to be the first Americans captured by Russian forces since the war began on Feb. 24.

Drueke, speaking into the camera from what appeared to be an office, sent a message to his mother, concluding with a quick wink.

“Mom, I just want to let you know that I’m alive and I hope to be back home as soon as I can be. So, love Diesel for me. Love you.” Diesel is his dog, a mastiff.

His aunt, Dianna Shaw, said the video included both a key word and a gesture that Drueke and his mother had set up during one of his two tours in Iraq so she would know that it was indeed him and that he was OK. (Read more from “Russian TV Shows Video of U.S. Veterans Captured in Ukraine” HERE)

Putin Crony Suggests Ukraine Won’t Exist in 2 Years

One of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest allies ominously suggested that Ukraine might not exist in two years’ time.

Dmitry Medvedev, former president and prime minister of the Russian Federation, who currently serves as deputy head of the country’s Security Council, took to his Telegram channel Wednesday to muse about Ukraine’s attempts to secure gas imports from its Western allies.

“I saw a report that Ukraine wants to receive from its overseas masters [liquified natural gas] as part of a land-lease plan with payment for delivery after 2 years,” Medvedev wrote. “Otherwise the country will freeze next winter.

“But here’s a question. Who said that after two years Ukraine will even exist on the world map?

“But it makes no difference to the Americans – they are so invested in their ‘anti-Russia’ project, that everything else is trivial to them.” (Read more from “Putin Crony Suggests Ukraine Won’t Exist in 2 Years” HERE)
