Big Media’s Big Palin Problem

Are some things inevitable? Do certain circumstances lend themselves to the unavoidable hand of destiny? Are Washington politicos usually correct when making predictions based upon “conventional wisdom”? Per the media’s prodding, shall we just go ahead and start calling him President Rick Perry? Not if former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has anything to say about it. Last week, in what is best described as trademark Palin unpredictablity, the self-described hockey mom drove a stake into the heart of three distinct narratives that, for months, have been reverberating throughout the echo-chambers of Big Media.

First, in an interview with FOX News’ Sean Hannity, the former Alaska governor began gently tarring former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney with the same sort of criticism she has more often reserved for President Obama — that of ditherer-in-chief. Mrs. Palin pointedly mocked Romney’s political wind-testing approach to the debt debate, and in her genuine “bless his heart” way, she began the uneasy task — oft-loathed by competitors within the same political party — of pointing out the many differences between herself and Mr. Romney. This crucial contrast-drawing can most likely be interpreted as a move toward announcing her candidacy.

Next, ever since Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann announced her decision to run for the GOP nomination, the media has been salivating over a potential “mud-wrestling” match between Mrs. Bachmann and Gov. Palin. But on the same night, and in nearly the same breath used to chastise Romney, Palin silenced the media-driven girl-fight meme by praising Bachmann’s principled “no” vote on the debt-ceiling debacle. (The elites are confounded by Palin’s willingness to both criticize and praise, as a matter of principle rather than politics, even her presumed competitors.)

Lastly, in their usual cynical tone, the political spinsters have been pushing a run for the GOP nod by current Texas governor Rick Perry. Trumpeting Perry’s alleged popularity within the Tea Party movement, the jammer-jawing intelligentsia spin a tale aimed at convincing voters of his viability, as a worthy opponent for Pres. Obama, while attempting to shut the door on the idea of nominating Gov. Palin. Of course, the flurry of pro-Perry news items is also intended to demoralize any pro-Palin forces by persuading them that Gov. Palin herself will ultimately decide against running. They want Americans to believe that Palin acknowledges her own cerebral shortcomings and will instead endorse the much more sophisticated Gov. Perry. (It’s intriguing that, when it’s convenient for Big Media, Governor Palin is painted as severely lacking in intelligence, yet as soon as they need a villain to decry, she becomes an evil genius who plans the destruction of polar bears from high atop her Alaskan ice castle.)

However, in yet another apparent step toward a 2012 run, Gov. Palin slyly re-tweeted a piece written by Whitney Pitcher, and featured on www.conservatives4palin.com, that puts Perry in a fairly negative light. In the post, Pitcher analyzes the dismal fiscal numbers in Texas garnered by the anemic leadership of Rick Perry, compared with Alaska’s example of financial discipline under the leadership of the former mayor of Wasilla. If Governor Palin intended on endorsing Gov. Perry — should he choose to run — why would she trumpet his poor financial record to her legions of followers? It should also be noted that, according to conservatives4palin, Pitcher’s post “pretty much calls for her (Palin) to run for the presidency.”

Sarah Palin Defends Tea Party

Sarah Palin has become one of the most effective defenders of the Tea Party. Last Night on FOXNEWS she took after Democrats that have called them terrorists. Her best line was when she attacked Obama asking: “If We Were Real Domestic Terrorists, Shoot, President Obama Would Be Wanting to Pal Around With Us, Wouldn’t He?” Go Sarah Go.

Did Palin Urge Freshmen to Vote Against Boehner Plan?

Is Sarah Palin swaying tea party conservatives to vote against House Speaker John Boehner’s debt plan?

The former Republican vice presidential nominee put an enigmatic comment on her Facebook page Thursday afternoon that seemed to warn freshman Republicans in the House that they just might face primary opposition if they cave in to demands by their party to raise the debt ceiling, The New York Times theorized.

“All my best to you, GOP Freshmen, from up here in the Last Frontier. Sincerely, Sarah Palin,” she wrote. “P.S. Everyone I talk to still believes in contested primaries.”

Just two hours later, House Republican leaders were forced to postpone the vote on their proposal to increase the debt ceiling at the last minute, apparently facing a revolt among some of those very members.

In her 4:03 p.m. Facebook posting, Palin wrote that “I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us “little people” who believed in them, donated to their campaigns, spent hours tirelessly volunteering for them, and trusted them with our votes. This new wave of public servants may recall that they were sent to D.C. for such a time as this.”

L.A. Times Attacks Palin Because She Isn’t a Thief, Liar, Pervert or Criminal

Anyone not convinced of the abject terror Sarah Palin instills in members of the American media needs only read the brief, L.A. Times reflection on the former Governor’s released emails.

A number of media outlets filed Freedom of Information Requests demanding the release of Governor Palin’s emails upon her acceptance of John McCain’s VP offer in 2008. The fact that these self-proclaimed guardians of liberty have yet to exhibit the slightest interest in the murky, personal and political histories of the President or the workings of the Obama White House…well, no doubt there is a very good reason.

Imagine the giddy, Christmas morning type expectations of drooling journalists when 24,000 pages of Sarah’s most intimate, previously private correspondence were dumped on a desk in Juneau by Alaska State officials last Friday.

So certain were these Sherlocks of the airwaves that they finally held the key to Palin’s ultimate destruction, a number of media moguls even advertised for help from viewers/readers to wade through the mass of paper.

But in the end, liberal heads exploded in frustration as Sarah Palin was discovered to be an honest, hard working Governor. No schemes, no criminal enterprises, no racist tendencies, no theft nor lies, no perverse photo attachments or clandestine trysts.

Fearing Sarah Palin

Two words, seemingly harmless until recently. Palin had no meaning at all before 2008. Not so, today.

Today, those same words strike fear and hatred into the hearts of the Main Stream Media, progressive liberals, and America’s enemies around the world.

Why? What is it about Sarah Palin that makes them so crazy? How can they continue to attack when they themselves have been proven wrong by her, over and over, and the country as a whole recognizes the stupidity and inherent misogynistic unfairness of their desperate attacks against her and her family?

It’s easy. It is the same virulent bias the left attacks any black person with, if they should become successful without government handouts, or, gasp, become a conservative.

They hate her because she does not need them, period. They need her, and that offends them. They think it is up to them to direct the path of politicians and the country as a whole. They will decide the issues, and to whom we should listen and for whom we should vote.

LEFT-LEANING MEDIA OUTLETS WILL MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO READ PALIN’S E-MAILS

Think you know everything there is to know about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin? Think again.

Since 2008, Mother Jones‘ David Corn has been actively petitioning for access to and public release of Palin’s e-mails. Following in the footsteps of Corn’s initial request, other media outlets subsequently began formally asking the Alaska government to release the e-mails Palin sent during her term. Mediaite sheds additional light on the scenario:

The state of Alaska initially told Corn that they had located 26,552 pages of emails, but are redacting 2,353 pages for unspecified reasons. Along these same lines, Palin apparently also used a personal email address for some of her official correspondence, and while the Alaskan government recovered some of these by looking through the official inboxes of some top officials, it’s possible that some communication was done among Palin’s personal account and the personal accounts of other State officials.

In sum, 24,199 pages will be presented for public viewing. In fact, Yahoo! reports that “Mother Jones, MSNBC.com and ProPublica“ are preparing to make the documents available for mass consumption ”in a searchable archive.”

In an op-ed for the Anchorage Daily News piece, Paul Jenkins writes that the e-mails may paint Palin in a very negative light:

The emails are going to be — if released in readable form after passing through lawyers‘ hands and being scrubbed by the governor’s office — delicious. There likely will be little good news in them for her. Having read only snippets of emails in Palin staffer Frank Bailey’s book, “Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin,“ or ”Hey, I Got Emails Nobody Else Can Get and I Can Make Some Dough,” the venom, bullying, intimidation, absolute paranoia and craziness of the Palin administration spins off the pages.

What do you think about this? Should Palin’s e-mails be released by major media outlets in a “searchable database?” Once public, the media will surely find appealing tidbits to feature and focus upon for some time to come.
