Michelle Malkin: The Blame Righty Mob Falls Silent

Photo Credit: humanevents.comQuestion: How many times over the past four years have exploitative liberal journalists and Democratic leaders rushed to pin random acts of violence on the tea party, Republicans, Fox News and conservative talk radio?

Answer: Nearly a dozen times, including the 2009 massacre of three Pittsburgh police officers (which lib journos falsely blamed on Fox News, Glenn Beck and the “heated, apocalyptic rhetoric of the anti-Obama forces”); the 2009 suicide insurance scam/murder hoax of Kentucky census worker Bill Sparkman (which New York magazine falsely blamed on Rush Limbaugh, “conservative media personalities, websites and even members of Congress”); the 2009 Holocaust museum shooting (which MSNBC commentator Joan Walsh blamed on Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly and yours truly); the 2010 Times Square jihad bomb plot (which Mayor Michael Bloomberg falsely blamed on tea party activists protesting Obamacare); and the 2011 Tucson massacre, which liberals continue to blame on former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Question: What will this rabid Blame Righty mob do now that an alleged triple-murderer has singled out prominent lefties in the media and Hollywood for fawning praise as part of his crazed manifesto advocating cop-killing?

Answer: Evade, deflect, ignore and whitewash.

This week, former Los Angeles Police Department Officer Christopher Dorner allegedly shot and killed three innocent people in cold blood. He was the subject of a massive manhunt as of Thursday afternoon. Dorner posted an 11,000-word manifesto on Facebook that outlined his chilling plans to target police officers.

The GOP, Fox Political Purge (+video)

Photo Credit: Mike LichtRepublicans and Fox News are moving to purge the controversial political creatures they created.
Both were damaged badly in 2012 by loud, partisan voices that stoked the base — but that scared the hell out of many voters.

Now, the GOP, with its dismal image, and Fox News, with its depressed ratings in January, are scrambling to dim those voices. To wit:

Fox ousted contributors Sarah Palin and Dick Morris, two of the most obnoxiously partisan figures on the network’s air.
Karl Rove, himself sidelined by Fox after the election, has helped start a new super PAC, the Conservative Victory Fund, designed to keep controversial conservatives like Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) from winning Senate primaries.

Senate GOP leaders created what amounts to a buddy system with their caucus’s most popular tea party members, Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas, to get their help in taming anti-establishment conservatives.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has been running around the country warning anyone who will listen that Republicans must quit being the “stupid party” that nominates nutty candidates.

Palin, Fox News Part Ways

NEW YORK – Fox News Channel is parting ways with former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, ending her three-year tenure as a contributor on the network.

While Palin’s time at Fox was occasionally rocky, the network’s news executive, Bill Shine, said Friday that “we have thoroughly enjoyed our association” with her.

“We wish her the best in her future endeavors,” said Shine, Fox’s executive vice president for programming.

A person familiar with discussions between Fox and Palin described the parting as amicable, saying that Fox and Palin had discussed renewing her contract but she decided to do other things. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the record.

Palin’s lawyer in Alaska, John Tiemessen, had no immediate comment on her exit. Palin’s last appearance on Fox News was Dec. 19 on Greta Van Susteren’s show.

Flashback: Palin Predicts Obama Admin. Using Health Care to Curb Second Amendment Rights (+video)

On August 1, 2009–just seven months into President Barack Obama’s first term–former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin predicted Obama would attempt to leverage health care to “take away” the Second Amendment rights of Americans.

In a speech to National Rifle Association members in Anchorage, Alaska, Palin said Americans should be “wary” of this “tie-in” because Obama would attempt to “take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan”:

“And by the way, [with] health care being so big in D.C. right now, be wary when some kind of tie-in occurs. Because it will crop up: a tie-in with guns in an attempt to take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan. You know that this is coming–that the two issues will somehow crop up and they’ll be tied together. So we have to be very wary of that.”

On Wednesday–more than three years after Palin’s warning–Obama did exactly what the former governor forecasted.

During a press conference wherein he issued 23 executive actions regarding guns and unveiled his gun control proposals, including a ban on so-called assault weapons, Obama said “doctors and other health care providers also need to be able to ask about firearms in their patients’ homes and safe storage of those firearms, especially if their patients show signs of certain mental illnesses or if they have a young child or mentally ill family member at home.”

Anchorage Daily News Fears Miller Run in 2014? Columnist Starts the Lies All Over Again

This weekend, longtime Anchorage Daily News (ADN) columnist and mouth piece of Alaska’s corrupt political establishment, Paul Jenkins, wrote a piece on the potential contenders for Alaska’s 2014 Senate race.

Besides a gratuitous, but hardly unexpected hit on Sarah Palin, much of the column was the typical ADN gushing about candidates likely to perpetuate the big government handouts for Alaska’s ruling class.

One candidate is described as the chairman of a “prestigious” federal commission, another one is praised as “almost too good to be true,” still another is declared a successful city manager.

Jenkins, of course, reserves most of his establishment-vitriol for 2010 Republican Senate nominee Joe Miller.

It would have been bad enough had he resurrected any one of the numerous fabricated stories from 2010 to justify his suggestion that Joe is at the “bottom of the [2014] barrel.” But he didn’t do that. Instead, he made up an entirely new lie stating that a “few days back, [Joe] trashed the National Rifle Association as a threat to gun liberty and called its top executive a charlatan.”

Never mind the well-known fact that Joe has been a life member of the NRA for his entire adult life. Or that he and his wife have given thousands of dollars to the organization and are currently NRA Benefactors, the highest level of NRA membership. We’re quite sure it wouldn’t matter to Jenkins either that Joe also received an “A” rating from the NRA as a legislative candidate.

That doesn’t mean that Restoring Liberty agrees with everything the NRA does, such as its endorsement of many big-government incumbents, and its failure to get behind constitutional conservatives. But Joe has never described the organization as a “threat to gun liberty” or its top exec as a “charlatan.” On the contrary, Joe has been a strong supporter of the NRA.

What Jenkins is apparently referring to is an article that appeared HERE at Restoring Liberty, authored by Adam Bates. Bates had some harsh comments about the NRA’s response to the Newtown massacre that has generated a healthy debate at Restoring Liberty.

Obviously, the fact a story appears at Restoring Liberty does not mean that Joe Miller endorses its contents. Rather, the intent is to post stories that inform and encourage thought, especially stories we are unlikely to see in the mainstream press. And as our readers are undoubtedly aware, Restoring Liberty doesn’t shy away from articles critical of anyone who may be straying from constitutional principles.

So either Jenkins is ignorant, or he’s just plain lying.

Fortunately, Alaskans are on to the establishment goons in the Alaska press. And that’s why Alaska’s conventional media is being abandoned in favor of sites like Restoring Liberty, the second-most read Alaskan Internet news site.

Why Governor Palin Is So Dangerous (To the Left)

Yesterday’s post by Adrienne Ross had a nice recap of Palin’s strengths:

‘Her message is always one of reform, respect for life, and restoration of our founding principles. She has not veered from championing fiscal responsibility, energy independence, and a strong national defense. She always encourages standing by allies, not bowing to enemies, and unapologetically embracing American greatness. She unceasingly begs us to consider future generations, incentivize small business, and support our military. She is not prone to flip-floppery.’

An additional thought is triggered by reading a post-election cri de couer delivered by pollster Pat Caddell. The speech has lots of good stuff, but focus on this crucial point:

‘But one fifth of the people said the most important thing was: Cares about people like me. And Obama won those voters 82 to 17. . . . . you have to have some connection with people, and we didn’t.’

In any fair contest, if one compared Palin’s dedication to the welfare of the people, of all economic classes except the plutocracy and the crony capitalists, she would beat any other candidate in either party on this value of ‘cares about people like me.’

Hey GOP, Take the Palin Cure: She’s hot, she’s blue collar, she’s electable.

The Republican Party has been doing a lot of hand-wringing and finger-pointing since the presidential election. Half the conservative columnists and bloggers say the GOP lost because it overemphasized social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. The other half says the party didn’t emphasize them enough. And everyone denounces Project ORCA, the campaign’s attempt to turn out voters via technology.

But I’ve got a suggestion for cutting short the GOP angst: Sarah Palin for president in 2016.

You think I’m joking? Think again.

In 2008, Palin, running as my party’s vice presidential candidate, was widely supposed to have cost John McCain the election. But that wasn’t so. A national exit poll conducted by CNN asked voters whether Palin was a factor in their voting. Of those who said yes, 56% voted for McCain versus 43% for Barack Obama.

Furthermore, Mitt Romney, the GOP’s anointed contender this year, got almost a million fewer votes than McCain did in 2008. (Meanwhile, President Obama, although winning reelection, lost far more voters than the Republicans, with nearly 7 million fewer voters checking his name on their ballots than did in 2008).

Palin: “Party fighting for power and not doing the will of the people” may lead to 3rd Party (+video)

Sarah Palin, who has a history of confronting corrupt party bosses, probably shocked the establishment again this weekend with her suggestion that “fighting for power” and “not doing the will of the people” may lead to the formation of a viable third party. She used the Republican Party’s replacement of the Whigs in the 19th century as such an example.

Here’s how Fox News reported her comments:

When asked if she would consider creating a third party if neither Gov. Romney nor President Obama would budge from their current positions on a variety of issues, Palin left open the door.

“Look what happened in the mid 1800’s. The Whig party went away and the Republican Party surfaced. Because the electorate got sick and tired of the party fighting for power and not doing the will of the people.”

Palin went on to say history could repeat itself.

“If history is an indication it is a possibility,” she said. “If the Republicans don’t remember what the planks in the platform represent … that is opportunity to prosper and thrive in the most exceptional nation in the world. We do that through a free market. If the Republicans become like the liberal left and democrats, I wouldn’t be surprised if history didn’t repeat itself.”

These comments are consistent with Palin’s comments from last year:

And here’s what she said in 2010:

Video: Joe Biden’s Greatest Hits

Here’s one of the better collections of Vice President Joe Biden’s gaffes. While watching this video, contrast the mainstream media’s failure to cover Biden’s asinine statements with the LSM’s extreme mistreatment of Vice President Dan Quayle and Governor Sarah Palin.

Finally, here’s a short clip of Biden thinking we’re still in the 20th Century:

Obama defends Biden’s “chains” remark, rejects Palin’s advice to replace him with Hillary (+video)

(by FoxNews.com) President Obama defended Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday against criticism of his remarks that Republican repeal of Wall Street regulations would put voters “back in chains.”

Obama also brushed off Sarah Palin’s suggestion on Fox News that he drop Biden from the ticket in favor of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee and a Fox News contributor, had said Biden’s comments are the latest example of how he “really drags down that ticket.”

“If that’s not the nail in the coffin, really, the strategists there in the Obama campaign have got to look at a diplomatic way of replacing Joe Biden on the ticket with Hillary,” Palin said. “And I don’t want to throw out that suggestion and have them actually accept the suggestion because then an Obama-Hillary Clinton ticket would have a darn good chance of winning.”

But Obama, in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” downplayed Palin’s comments: “We don’t spend a lot of time worrying about the chatter and the noise and this and that,” he said. “The country isn’t as divided with gaffes or some stray remark as Washington is. Most folks know that’s just sort of a WWF wrestling part of politics. It doesn’t mean anything, just fills up a lot of air time.”  Read more from this story HERE.
