Kavanaugh’s Accuser Just Added a Big Condition for Her to Testify Publicly

Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has accused federal judge and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, will not testify publicly about the alleged incident unless a “full investigation by law enforcement officials” is completed beforehand, according to her attorneys.

Ford’s legal team sent a letter to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and that letter was obtained by CNN.

“…a full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner, and that the Committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions,” the letter read. . .

This situation has developed quickly since Friday. As of Monday night, it appeared Ford was willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee next Monday, along with Kavanaugh. By Tuesday morning, however, that appearance was in doubt as Grassley said they had not been able to get in touch with Ford. . .

“Asking her to come forward in four or five days and sit before the Judiciary Committee on national TV is not a fair process,” Ford attorney Lisa Banks said to CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “If they care about doing the right thing here and treating this seriously as they have said, then they will do the right thing and they will properly investigate this, and she will work with them in that investigation and also to share her story with the committee.” (Read more from “Kavanaugh’s Accuser Just Added a Big Condition for Her to Testify Publicly” HERE)

Watch: Here’s How Clarence Thomas Responded to Allegations Against Him

Then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas faced sexual misconduct allegations while he was going through the Supreme Court confirmation process in 1991 after being nominated to the court by George H. W. Bush.

On October 11, 1991, Thomas gave a statement before the Senate Judiciary Committee after then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) asked him if he had anything to say regarding the allegations.

“Senator, I would like to start by saying unequivocally, uncategorically, that I deny each and every single allegation against me today that suggested in any way that I had conversations of a sexual nature or about pornographic material with Anita Hill, that I ever attempted to date her, that I ever had any personal sexual interest in her, or that I in any way ever harassed her,” Thomas began.

“A second, and I think more important point,” Thomas continued. “I think that this today is a travesty. I think that it is disgusting. I think that this hearing should never occur in America. This is a case in which this sleaze, this dirt, was searched for by staffers of members of this committee, was then leaked to the media, and this committee and this body validated it and displayed it at prime time over our entire nation. How would any member on this committee, any person in this room, or any person in this country, would like sleaze said about him or her in this fashion? Or this dirt dredged up and this gossip and these lies displayed in this manner? How would any person like it?”

“The Supreme Court is not worth it. No job is worth it. I am not here for that. I am here for my name, my family, my life, and my integrity,” Thomas said. “I think something is dreadfully wrong with this country when any person, any person in this free country would be subjected to this.”

The Legal Advisor for Kavanaugh’s Accuser Is a Big Time Democratic Donor, Thinks People Who Work for Trump Are ‘Miscreants’

The Washington Post reported this afternoon that Stanford professor Christine Blasey Ford is the woman behind the confidential letter given to Sen. Dianne Feinstein accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault as a teenager. According to the Post, Ford initially refrained from revealing the alleged information of a horrendous sexual assault due to privacy concerns for herself and her family. But she thought it was her duty to come forward on the record after the advice of Washington lawyer Debra Katz. Katz, however, has a long history of dismissing sexual assault allegations against liberal politicians, donating to left-wing causes, and even publicly demonizing all Trump advisors as “miscreants” who are worse than deplorables. . .

After Sen. Feinstein announced the accusatory letter last week, Ford decided she had to come on the record to avoid public scrutiny and speculation. It was Katz who provided the results of that polygraph test to the Post. The results “concluded that Ford was being truthful when she said a statement summarizing her allegations was accurate.”

But, readers should remember that Katz treated Paula Jones’ accusations of sexual harassment against President Bill Clinton very differently in the 1990s. According to court documents, Jones claimed that then-Arkansas governor Bill Clinton summoned her to his hotel room where she was working as a receptionist. While in the room he “unexpectedly reached over to (her), took her hand, and pulled her toward him, so that their bodies were close to each other.” She backed away, but he pursued, saying, ‘I love the way your hair flows down your back’ and ‘I love your curves. He then “put his hand on her leg, started sliding it toward her pelvic area, and bent down to attempt to kiss her on the neck, all without her consent.’ Jones claimed she said, “What are you doing?” and had to escape to a nearby sofa where she attempted to distract the governor by talking about his wife.

However, when she was sitting on the sofa, Clinton came close to her and “lowered his trousers and underwear, exposed his penis (which was erect) and told (her) to ‘kiss it.'” Jones then attempted to leave but the governor said, “‘Well, I don’t want to make you do anything you don’t want to do,’ and then pulled up his pants and said, ‘If you get in trouble for leaving work, have Dave call me immediately and I’ll take care of it.’ She left the room (the door of which was not locked), the governor ‘detained’ her momentarily, ‘looked sternly’ at her, and said, ‘You are smart. Let’s keep this between ourselves,'” according to court documents. FBI Yawns at Democrat Dianne Feinstein’s Pathetic Smear of Brett Kavanaugh

By Townhall. Yesterday Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein announced she had received a letter from an unnamed woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of wrongdoing. She didn’t reveal what was in the letter, didn’t share it with Republican colleagues on the Committee for review and referred Kavanaugh to the FBI for investigation.

“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities,” Feinstein released in a public statement.

Believe Brett Kavanaugh

By Washington Examiner.

Let’s start off with the obvious: Attempted rape, no matter from how long ago, is immediately disqualifying behavior for any candidate for the highest court in the land. Even if presidents from both parties have failed to clear this extremely low bar, we should continue to demand moral decency from the literal arbiters of justice in society.

This is what Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s establishment superstar nominee to the Supreme Court, stands accused of in a secret letter sent to Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Calif., and then forwarded to Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, the ranking Democrat of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

For at least two months, Feinstein kept the letter to herself. As she had multiple opportunities to question Kavanaugh under oath, both in public and private, she remained mum on the issue. One of the most senior female Democrats in Congress knew of a sexual assault allegation against Kavanaugh and did not consider the allegation serious enough to question him about while he was under oath. This alone calls the allegation’s intentions and credibility into question. . .

The accuser refused to speak to the press, the Senate, and the FBI. Both Kavanaugh and his male colleague in the room with him at the time categorically denied the assault. So we have two straightforward denials and one anonymous accuser refusing to let anybody independently vet her claims, let alone explain them. . . .

Between the evidence (nonexistent) and the timing, the letter screams partisan animus. At worst, the letter is a shameless smear against a man with an unimpeachable record, clearly timed as a Hail Mary attempt to keep a conservative stalwart from the Supreme Court. And with the woman unwilling to provide an iota of corroboration to her account, the worst-case scenario seems like the likeliest. (Read more from “Believe Brett Kavanaugh” HERE)

Sixty-Five Women Who Went to High School With Brett Kavanaugh Write Their Own Letter About His Character

Five dozen women who went to high school with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh have written a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein backing his character.

“We are women who have known Brett Kavanaugh for more than 35 years and knew him while he attended high school between 1979 and 1983. For the entire time we have known Brett Kavanaugh, he has behaved honorably and treated women with respect. We strongly believe it is important to convey this information to the Committee at this time,” the letter states. “Brett attended Georgetown Prep, an all-boys high school in Rockville, Maryland. He was an outstanding student and athlete with a wide circle of friends. Almost all of us attended all girls high schools in the area. We knew Brett well through social events, sports, church, and various other activities. Many of us have remained close friends with him and his family over the years.”

“Through the more than 35 years we have known him, Brett has stood out for his friendship, character, and integrity. In particular, he has always treated women with decency and respect. That was true when he was in high school, and it has remained true to this day,” the letter continues. “The signers of this letter hold a broad range of political views. Many of us are not lawyers, but we know Brett Kavanaugh as a person. And he has always been a good person.”

The letter comes one day after Senator Feinstein referred Kavanaugh to the FBI for investigation after receiving a letter from an unnamed woman. In a statement released by Feinstein Thursday, the Democrat implied wrongdoing by Kavanaugh without offering any evidence or transparency. Kavanaugh Explains Why He Didn’t Shake the Hand of Parkland Father

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh says he would have shaken the hand of a school shooting victim’s father during a break in last week’s Senate hearing had he recognized him before being whisked away by security detail.

Kavanaugh’s explanation for the encounter with Fred Guttenberg — captured in an Associated Press photo that went viral on social media — was among a 263-page response to written questions from senators on a range of issues including abortion, executive power and his personal finances.

Kavanaugh wrote that he assumed the man who approached him “and touched my arm” during a break at the Senate Judiciary Committee proceedings had been one of the many protesters in the hearing room. Guttenberg’s 14-year-old daughter, Jaime, was among 17 people killed on Feb. 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

“It had been a chaotic morning,” Kavanaugh wrote. “I unfortunately did not realize that the man was the father of a shooting victim from Parkland, Florida. Mr. Guttenberg has suffered an incalculable loss. If I had known who he was, I would have shaken his hand, talked to him, and expressed my sympathy. And I would have listened to him.”

Kavanaugh’s security detail ushered the nominee out in a “split second,” according to the judge’s response to a written question from Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Iowa Republican who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee. It was among 1,287 questions from senators, almost all from Democrats.

Pressed by Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat, if he had asked police to intervene, Kavanaugh wrote, “No.”

The flood of new documents comes as the Judiciary Committee is set to meet Thursday to consider Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

Democrats are fighting Kavanaugh’s nomination and decrying the process that Republicans used to compile his government records for review. Sen. Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat, on Wednesday night released a new batch of “committee confidential” documents about Kavanaugh, repeating a tactic that could prompt a review from the Senate Ethics Committee.

Documents stamped “committee confidential” are intended only for members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and have not been officially approved for public release.

The 28 new “committee confidential” documents Booker released are from Kavanaugh’s time in the White House counsel’s office during the George W. Bush administration and show his involvement in judicial nominations, including for some of the more controversial judges of the era.

Booker is being criticized by Republican senators and outside groups for releasing the documents, which the Judiciary Committee is holding back on a confidential basis that makes them accessible only to senators. Last week, he released some documents that were later made public by the committee, but also others that weren’t. Wednesday’s disclosure brings the total to 75.

Booker said the documents about Kavanaugh’s work “raise more serious and concerning questions” about his honesty during his testimony before the committee.

The documents show Kavanaugh’s involvement in Bush’s nomination of Charles Pickering to an appellate court in the South amid questions about his views on race relations. Kavanaugh had indicated he was not substantially involved in the nomination.

At the same time, the conservative group Judicial Watch delivered a letter Wednesday to the Senate Ethics Committee seeking an investigation. It says Booker violated Senate rules against disclosing confidential documents and could face Senate expulsion.

Booker “explicitly invited his expulsion from the Senate in his egregious violation of the rules and contempt for the rule of law and the Constitution,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

At issue has been the unprecedented process the Senate Judiciary Committee used for gathering documents on Kavanaugh, an appellate court judge who is President Donald Trump’s nominee to replace retired Justice Anthony Kennedy on the court. The full Senate is expected to vote on his confirmation by the end of the month.

The committee was hoping to quickly process Kavanaugh’s unusually long paper trail and relied on Bush’s lawyer, Bill Burck, to compile the documents, first estimated to be 900,000 pages from Kavanaugh’s time in the counsel’s office. Eventually, some 267,000 pages were made public and 174,000 were held as “committee confidential.”

Democrats have complained the process was a “sham,” as Booker put it. It also excluded any documents Democrats wanted to see from Kavanaugh’s time as Bush’s staff secretary.

But Burck’s team stood by the process, according to a letter to the committee Wednesday obtained by The Associated Press. They remain willing to review documents and consent to senators’ requests for disclosure, “when appropriate,” the letter said. Despite those commitments, the letter said, one member of the committee has released more than 40 documents without consent, referring to Booker.

“Had we been consulted on these universally released documents, we would have consented to their public disclosure,” the letter said.

White House spokesman Raj Shah said, “Despite the endless complaints from critics, the committee has received more material regarding Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination than any nominee in history.”

He said senators have “more than enough information” to consider Kavanaugh’s nomination. (For more from the author of “Kavanaugh Explains Why He Didn’t Shake the Hand of Parkland Father” please click HERE)

Losers: The Left Just Had Another Kavanaugh Outrage Bomb Explode in Their Face

So, do Democrats really like having bombs explode in their faces because they’re getting worse. The Left’s resistance movement against the Supreme Court nomination of the highly qualified, and soon-to-be associate justice, Brett Kavanaugh has been lackluster. It wasn’t until this weekend that Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) planned to execute a blitz in the opening moments of today’s confirmation hearing. Yet, Democrats interrupted the proceedings 63 times to put forward a trash motion to delay the hearing until they can read all these documents…only to circle back and declare what we already know: they’re not supporting his nomination. It’s all an effort to put this nomination fight off until after the midterms, where Democrats think their position on the Hill will be better. But before we even get to all of that, we need to talk about this piece of idiocy that occurred. Apparently, another reason to derail the Kavanaugh nomination is because the woman sitting behind Judge Kavanagh at today’s hearings was supposedly giving a white power sign.

Oh, here we go. You can hear it now. It’s the outrage engine revving up. The woman’s name is Zina Gelman Bash. She’s also pictured with Kavanaugh in the featured photo above. She’s wearing the black dress. She’s supposedly throwing an A-Okay sign, which seen as a white power sign among whacko lefty circles. Just so we’re clear. That’s fake news. The anti-Defamation League said the sign is not one that espouses or promotes white power. Also, she’s a White House lawyer, her mother is Mexican-American, and her grandparents escaped the Nazi death camps. This is what happens when you’re liberal, stupid, and go off half-cocked on social media. You end up getting smashed in the face with the rake you just stepped on. SCOTUS Fight: It Seems Red State Democrats Are Totally and Utterly Screwed

For liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans, it’s an easy choice regarding the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Both sides have made up their minds weeks before these hearings, which have devolved into total clown shows, started this week. With former Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl being tapped to serve the remainder of the late John McCain’s term, we have a decisive vote locked up. Kyl is probably going to vote for Kavanaugh. I’m betting McCain would have a “yea” vote as well if he were healthy. The point is the game is over. We have won. The votes are there for confirmation. It’s only a matter of time.

Yet, concerning red state Democrats, it’s a question about survival. Do they want another term or do they want to please the rabid progressive base that is virtually non-existent in their respective states. Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, West Virginia, and Indiana are not hot beds of anti-Trump resistance movement. Still, as we’ve note before, red state Democrats could back Kavanaugh, vote for him (he already has the votes), and ensure their re-elections. The downside is that they will be frozen out of Democratic circles, could reap the ire of progressives who will make their lives hell for the remainder of this election cycle and more to come, and be cut off form key fundraising and financial apparatuses essential to winning elections. The term persona non grata rings a bell.

Since President Trump nominated Kavanaugh Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), Jon Tester (D-MT), Joe Donnelly, and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) have been put in a vice this cycle over this vote. Voters in their states want Kavanaugh confirmed. For at least McCaskill and Manchin it could be a vote that either breaks themor degrades their re-electionchances. It’s the reason why they’ve deployed countermeasureswhen the media is around, declining to attendthe nominating ceremony of Kavanaugh some two months ago. Either way, they’re not in an enviable position. In many ways, they’re quite screwed. (Read more from “SCOTUS Fight: It Seems Red State Democrats Are Totally and Utterly Screwed” HERE)

Senator Thought He Had a Kavanaugh Bombshell. It Was a Total Dud.

Day two of the Brett Kavanaugh hearings were once again riddled with theatrics. Guy will have a more in-depth analysis later, but let’s discuss Sen. Cory Booker’s nonsense stand to release documents supposedly relating to racial profiling that were deemed confidential. He called it his Spartacus moment. Give me a break—it was more 2020 posturing. He didn’t violate a Senate rule by doing this, which comes with the risk of expulsion from the body, though he said he was willing to do so for the sake of the republic. There are not enough eyes to roll on this one. This set off more Democrats whining and complaining about document releases and transparency when, again, everyone knows they’re not going to support this man. They’ve already made up their minds, which is why the Senate GOP shouldn’t entertain their nonsense motions on this front. This clown show over documents lasted nearly an hour (via Fox News):

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker injected chaos into Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing Thursday by releasing confidential Kavanaugh emails with the backing of fellow Democrats in possible violation of Senate rules, calling it an act of “civil disobedience” and drawing condemnation from the Republicans on the committee. . .

After announcing plans to do so, Booker released 12 pages of emails — which had been marked “committee confidential” — online for the public to read. The emails included internal post-9/11 discussions surrounding issues of racial profiling.

. . .

In the end, it was cleared prior to its release by the Bush team and the committee, so nice acting job there, Cory. Also, the big bombshell in those documents only showed that Brett Kavanaugh is reasonable, mainstream, and against racial profiling after the 9/11 terror attacks. The documents were from his time in the Bush administration, which has become a focal point for Democrats since they know there are scores of documents, immaterial ones, whose review could delay the whole process.

Here’s What the Left Doesn’t Want America to Know About Brett Kavanaugh

If you tuned in on day one of the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh Tuesday, you watched Democrats do everything possible to attack his legal record. Worse, they smeared his character, integrity and repeatedly made a number of false accusations.

Putting the distraction, grandstanding and protests aside, there’s a lot of inconvenient facts the far left — including Democrat Senators Cory Booker and Kamala Harris — don’t want Americans to know about Judge Brett Kavanaugh. . .

“I’ve been very aggressive about hiring the best and understanding that the best include women,” Kavanaugh said during testimony Wednesday. “A majority of my clerks have been women. Twenty-five. Twenty-one of them have gone on the clerk at the Supreme Court. They’re an awesome group. If confirmed to the Supreme Court, I will continue to do this.” . .

“I am here today with another of my judicial heroes … my mom. Fifty years ago this week, in September 1968, my mom was 26 and I was three. That week, my mom started as a public-school teacher at McKinley Tech High School here in Washington, D.C. 1968 was a difficult time for race relations in our city and our country,” Kavanaugh said. . .

“His intellect is unquestioned. His judgement is highly regarded. And I can personally attest to his character and integrity as a colleague,” [Condoleezza] Rice testified Tuesday as a character witness.
