Target Will Soon Stop Accepting This Form of Payment

Target will no longer be accepting personal checks as a form of payment at its stores beginning later this month, the company confirmed.

The Minnesota-based big-box retail chain will stop taking checks this month due to “extremely low volumes,” of such payments, a spokesperson told NBC Chicago.

The company has taken “several measures” to notify customers in advance, the spokesperson added.

The change will go into effect on July 15 following the end of Target’s popular Circle Week sales event.

While personal checks will no longer be accepted, the store will still take cash, credit and debit cards, Target Circle Cards, digital wallets, SNAP/EBT cards and buy now-pay later services, Target said. (Read more from “Target Will Soon Stop Accepting This Form of Payment” HERE)

Gavin Newsom Recalls How Target Clerk Blamed Him for California Retail Theft — Before Realizing Who He Was

Gavin Newsom revealed Wednesday that he once witnessed a shoplifter steal from Target without any interference from workers, one of whom blamed the California governor for emboldened criminals in the state before she realized who he actually was.

The Golden State leader recalled the awkward interaction at the start of a Zoom forum about a mental health proposition he’s backing, and as California continues to deal with a retail theft crisis, the Mercury News reported.

Newsom said he was on the Target checkout line when he and a store worker saw the thief waltz out of the store with items he didn’t pay for, according to footage posted online.

“I said, ‘why didn’t you stop him,’” Newsom said. “She goes, ‘oh, the governor.’ Swear to God, true story on my mom’s grave. ‘The governor lowered the threshold, there’s no accountability.’ I said that’s just not true.”

Newsom then said he told the clerk, who still apparently didn’t know who he was, that California’s Prop. 47 makes it a felony for property thefts totaling $950 or higher – the 10th toughest in the nation. This Retailer Won’t Let Cops Arrest Shoplifters

Target, a retailer that long has been socially progressive to the point of promoting controversial alternative lifestyle choices, has been in the headlines in recent months for those actions. . .

Now there’s a new report out that Target has gone extreme on yet another social agenda – the leftist agenda that includes essentially ignoring crimes like shoplifting.

Multiple George Soros-backed prosecutors have adopted that plan in recent months, to the point some have even declared they’ll not prosecute such thefts under, say, about $900.

It is the Epoch Times that is reporting sheriff Jim Cooper, serving residents of the far-left Sacramento County, accused Target of preventing deputies from apprehending shoplifters.

That’s despite the company’s request for help in curbing an explosion in the number of retail crime cases.

Target CEO: Conservatives Upset Over Trans Merch More Dangerous to Employees Than George Floyd Riots

Target CEO Brian Cornell deflected when he was pressed Thursday about specific Target products that generated a boycott starting in May, while suggesting blowback over transgender merch came from violent customers who threatened his employees’ safety more than the George Floyd riots.

Target, as admitted by Cornell, is still suffering from abysmal sales. Outraged shoppers took to social media back in May after discovering LGBT Pride clothing for children and a transgender “tuck-friendly” bathing suit at the popular retail chain. It was also later pieced together that a designer tied to merchandise featuring occult images and phrases such as “Satan Respects Pronouns” and “Trans Witches For Abortion,” designed some of Target’s PRIDE items.

Cornell told CNBC’s Squawk Box that the violence and looting witnessed during the George Floyd riots did not compare to the trans blowback.

“We’ve seen natural disasters, the impact of COVID, some of the violence that took place after George Floyd’s murder, but I would tell you, what I saw back in May, is the first time since I’ve been in this job where I had store members saying, ‘It’s not safe to come to work,’” the CEO claimed, adding that angry customers were engaged in “very aggressive behavior at store-level, lots of threats,” and “destroyed products.” (Read more from “Target CEO: Conservatives Upset Over Trans Merch More Dangerous to Employees Than George Floyd Riots” HERE)

Target Will Close Nine Stores Across Major Cities Over Soaring Retail Theft… So Are You Affected?

Target will close nine stores across the country, citing an uptick in crime and other safety concerns.

The company announced Tuesday in a press release that it is set on closing locations in New York City, Seattle, San Francisco and Portland, because ‘theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests.’

On October 21, two locations in Seattle, three stores in the San Francisco-Oakland neighborhood, three stores in Portland and one store in Harlem, New York will close for good.

‘We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,’ Target said in the news release.

Former Target Exec Says Pride Month ‘Misstep’ Helped Cause Massive Sales Slump

Former Target Vice Chairman Gerald Storch told Fox News the company’s Pride month stance contributed at least 20% to the sales slump it has suffered since June.

Target’s quarterly sales fell for the first time in six years, according to an earnings report released Wednesday. The company featured a Pride Month collection that included LGBT merchandise marketed to kids in May.

“Your job is to meet the needs of your customers, not to pick a fight with anybody,” Storch said Thursday. “There’s no doubt that Target took a misstep with Pride Month.”

“It’s certainly impacted them. There’s no doubt about it,” Storch said of Target’s Pride merchandise. “But I would say it’s probably 20% of the [5% decline]. Not the main part of it.”

Target Bans Mark Levin Book, Scared of Offending Democrats

Target, already suffering through poor sales linked to its all-in LGBT agenda during Pride Month, could suffer a second punch later this year for banning a new book from New York Times bestseller and media mogul Mark Levin because it might offend Democrats.

“Target has informed my publisher, Simon & Schuster, that it will not carry my new book when it is released on September 19. It claims that certain customers might be offended by the title. Imagine that!” Levin tweeted before opening his nightly No. 1 radio show Wednesday night.

The forthcoming book is titled The Democratic Party Hates America. . .

The ban is likely to further help presales, which are already in record territory. The book stands as Amazon’s No. 1 for political books and a remarkable No. 11 overall.

Levin, known among supporters as “The Great One,” probably figured some outlets might not like the focus of his book, but a liberal ban at a time conservatives are being criticized for policing books in grade schools is ironic. When LGBT Activists Flood Target With Bomb Threats, Media Pretend Conservatives Did It

The shameless corporate media are so desperate for a narrative about LGBT victimhood, they’re pretending threats of violence from angry pro-“pride” perpetrators are instead threats against them. The latest examples are pure propaganda from The Hill and The Washington Post on Monday, which led with scaremongering — “bomb threats over Pride items” — while completely burying the lede: The bomb threats against culturally embroiled retail giant Target came from pro-LGBT activists.

“Target stores in at least five states receive bomb threats over Pride items,” read The Hill’s headline — the only part most people see.

The few readers who actually bothered to click the link were met with this deceptive framing in the first paragraph: “Target stores in at least five U.S. states had to be evacuated over the weekend after receiving bomb threats, the latest example of backlash the U.S.-based retail chain has received for its Pride month merchandise.”

Not until paragraph six, however, did the author reveal that these bomb threats that were emailed to news outlets in multiple states “accused the retail chain of betraying the LGBTQ+ community.”

The Washington Post ran an almost identical headline, burying the real news a full eight paragraphs down and leading instead with: “Target stores in at least five states were evacuated this weekend after receiving bomb threats. Kohl’s and Target Exposed for Pouring Money Into LGBT Group That Seeks to Indoctrinate Children With Gender Ideology and Undermine Parental Rights

Retail chains Target and Kohl’s are presently facing conservative “Bud-lighting” boycotts for targeting children with LGBT activist apparel. It appears that kids’ fashion is not the only thing these woke companies seek to change.

Kohl’s and Target have both poured significant amounts of money into an organization that pushes gender ideology on children as well as policies that undermine parental rights. . .

The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network is a New York-based organization that promotes gender ideology and sex-change acceptance in K-12 schools throughout the country.

Where indoctrination is concerned, GLSEN insists that “students of all ages must be given an opportunity to learn that the words ‘gay,’ ‘lesbian,’ and ‘transgender’ are adjectives that should be used with respect” and that “it is never too early for schools to set up a foundation of understanding and respect” for non-straight sexual preferences.

LGBTQ Radicals Send Target Bomb Threats After Pride Month Merchandise Pullback

LGBTQ radicals reportedly deluged Target with bomb threats in retaliation to the retail giant pulling back on some of its Pride Month merchandise after significant backlash.

The bomb threats were allegedly made against several Target stores in at least three states: Utah, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. An email to one Cleveland store that Cleveland 19 News reviewed indicated that radical LGBTQ activists may have been behind the threats.

“Target is full of cowards who turned their back on the LGBT community and decided to cater to the homophobic right-wing redneck bigots who protested and vandalized their store,” the email reportedly read.

In Utah, Salt Lake City police communications director Brent Weisberg told USA TODAY that officers determined that no “credible threat” had been directed at the two stores in the city.
