Video Played At Trial Shows Pro-Lifers Targeted By DOJ Singing Hymns, Urging Peace During Protest

Six pro-lifers targeted by the Biden administration sang hymns and urged peace at an abortion facility in Tennessee during a 2021 protest for which they face 11 years in prison, according to videos shown in federal court on Thursday.

The videos were played during the second day of the trial of the six pro-lifers in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee at the Fred D. Thompson courthouse in Nashville. The pro-lifers are charged by the Department of Justice with violating the FACE Act and conspiring against civil rights, a charge that could lead to 11 years in prison. . .

Caroline Davis, who was one of those arrested at Carafem, took a plea deal earlier this year and agreed to testify for the government. During her testimony, the prosecution played videos of what happened at Carafem during the protest.

Some of the videos showed the group singing songs like “Holy, Holy, Holy,” and “Onward Christian Soldiers,” while others showed members of the group talking to police. Another video showed one participant telling another to speak “in love” to a man with his girlfriend who had shown up at Carafem and that someone’s “baby is a gift from God.”

Gallagher was on video telling those present on March 5 to conduct themselves peacefully and to make sure to not do any property damage. The group hoped to encounter women heading into Carafem for abortions and persuade them to keep their unborn children. Republican Proposes New Bill to Protect Children From Porn

In a bid to shield children from explicit content on the internet, Tennessee Republican Rep. Patsy Hazlewood has introduced the “Protect Tennessee Minors Act.” The legislation aims to compel online pornography distributors to implement age verification measures, mirroring similar laws enacted in states like Virginia and Utah.

Rep. Hazlewood, Chair of the House Finance, Ways, and Means Committee, emphasized the bill’s goal of equating safeguards in the online realm with those already established in the physical world. She asserted that exposing children to pornography constitutes a form of child sexual abuse and exploitation, with severe potential impacts on intellectual development and emotional well-being.

The proposed legislation proposes a stringent approach, requiring companies to match a user’s photograph with a valid U.S. photo ID. Failure to implement age verification could result in serious consequences, with websites facing a Class C felony charge, carrying penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Similar laws in Virginia and Utah prompted Pornhub to restrict access to its site for users in those states. Hazlewood’s bill reflects a broader societal concern, with Tennessee tech industry executive Jacob Levy stating, “My top priority is the safety and health of my children. Pornography is a societal disaster. Modernizing existing laws to require age verification will protect children from it and help the internet stay digital, not degenerate.”

This initiative aligns with a resolution passed by Tennessee lawmakers in 2017, designating pornography as a public health hazard. The resolution highlighted the detrimental effects of pornography, depicting women and children as objects and contributing to the normalization of violence.

Newsom Lies About City Law ‘Banning’ Being Gay, Gets Dragged

California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom mischaracterized a Tennessee city ordinance that passed a ban on indecent exposure, lewd behavior, and nudity in front of minors, claiming it had “banned being gay in public.”

The ordinance Newsom was referring to was passed by the Murfreesboro City Council in June and amended in October to eliminate the term “homosexuality” from the code’s definition banning inappropriate sexual conduct. . .

Court Affirms Laws Protecting Children From Body Mutilations

A federal appeals court has ruled that Kentucky and Tennessee are allowed to implement laws that protect children from certain transgender treatments, treatments that include surgical body mutilations.

Also impacted are schemes by medical professionals to use chemicals to alter their physical development.

The ruling from the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was described in published reports as a “major setback” for the American Civil Liberties Union, which has advocated for those surgical procedures and has opposed any restrictions on them.

John Bursch, of the ADF, which has advocated for protections for children, explained, “Tennessee and Kentucky are right to protect minors from harmful, irreversible, and experimental medical procedures that can permanently alter children’s bodies without any proven long-term benefit.

“Children suffering discomfort with their sex are best served by compassionate mental health care. Even the far-from-impartial World Professional Association for Transgender Health has admitted that the overwhelming majority of children will naturally resolve their gender dysphoria as they mature. District Attorney Blocked From Enforcing State Law Shielding Kids From Explicit Performances

A federal judge blocked a Tennessee district attorney from enforcing the state’s law shielding children from sexually explicit performances ahead of a “Pride” event after he was sued by the American Civil Liberties Union.

The judge’s ruling comes after the ACLU filed a lawsuit this week against Blount County DA Ryan Desmond, who sent a letter to Blount County Pride saying that any explicit performances in front of children would not be allowed at a “Pride” event on September 2 just south of Knoxville. Video has emerged from “Pride” events across the country of explicit drag performances with children present and looking on.

“It is certainly possible that the event in question will not violate any of the criminal statutes,” Desmond said. “However if sufficient evidence is presented to this office that these referenced criminal statutes have been violated, our office will ethically and justly prosecute these cases in the interest of justice.”

Desmond had a temporary restraining order placed on him by U.S. District Judge Ronnie Greer meaning that he is blocked from enforcing Tennessee’s Adult Entertainment Act. Also part of the suit was Flamy Grant, who has been portrayed in the media as a “Christian” drag performer. Missing Tennessee Couple Found After 8 Days in Alaskan Wilderness — Just 2 Miles From Car

A Tennessee couple who vanished more than a week ago while hiking in Alaska were found safe Friday — just two miles from their parked car, family said.

Couple Jonas Bare, 50, and Cynthia Hovsepian, 37, were spotted by a hiker as they wandered through the woods in Fairbanks, a city with a population of more than 30,000.

The pair had survived eight days in the wilderness after losing their way on what was supposed to be a brief hike on an established trail, Bare’s uncle, who asked to remain anonymous, told The Post.

The family member said he believes Bare and Hovsepian became dazed and confused by the 20 hours of sunlight per day in the state this time of year, paired with temperatures that can drop to 45 degrees during the four hours of twilight.

“They were lost, I’m sure, and disoriented or else they would have been out of there,” he said. (Read more from “Missing Tennessee Couple Found After 8 Days in Alaskan Wilderness — Just 2 Miles From Car” HERE)

Biden Administration Investigates University Over Release of Transgender Clinic Patient Records

Federal health officials have launched a civil rights investigation into Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) after the hospital turned over trans-identifying clinic patients’ medical records to the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office. The AG’s office is investigating the Nashville-based center for potential medical billing fraud connected to transgender medical treatments for minors.

VUMC chief communications officer John Howser told The Associated Press last week the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Civil Rights contacted the medical center just weeks after two patients sued the hospital system, claiming they were among more than 100 current and former patients whose records were turned over to Tennessee state authorities.

“We have no further comment since this is an ongoing investigation,” Howser said.

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti’s office confirmed in June that it was investigating the medical center over potential billing fraud. The center recently ceased providing cross-sex hormones and performing sex-change surgeries on minors in compliance with a new Tennessee law that took effect earlier this year.

Brandon Smith, chief of staff for the state attorney general, said that the investigation is purely about Vanderbilt’s billing practices and not about the patients themselves, saying the AG’s office was “surprised that VUMC has deliberately chosen to frighten its patients like this.” (Read more from “Biden Administration Investigates University Over Release of Transgender Clinic Patient Records” HERE)

Soccer Coach Accused of Recording Himself Raping Drugged Boys Is Also an Illegal Alien, Officials Say

A popular youth soccer coach in Tennessee is accused of recording himself raping boys whom he had drugged, and officials have said that he’s also an illegal alien.

The Franklin Police Department called the case one of the most “egregious” and “shocking” they have ever seen.

63-year-old Camilo Hurtado Campos was arrested on charges of child rape after he left his cellphone at a local pizza restaurant and workers trying to get his information to contact him allegedly discovered horrendous videos of assault.

The videos reportedly showed dozens of unconscious children being raped. Investigators later said the boys were aged between 9 and 17 years old.

He was arrested a day after he returned to retrieve the phone and a worker was able to snap a photo of his license plate. (Read more from “Soccer Coach Accused of Recording Himself Raping Drugged Boys Is Also an Illegal Alien, Officials Say” HERE)

Soccer Coach’s Lost Phone Contained Videos of Him Raping Boys, Police Say

A soccer coach in Tennessee has been arrested after police said they found hundreds of videos and images of him appearing to rape unconscious boys on a phone he left behind at a restaurant.

Police in Franklin, Tenn., said in a Sunday statement that Camilo Hurtado Campos, 63, recruited boys onto his soccer team and then sexually abused them. They said Campos drugged and raped at least 10 boys as young as 9 years old and recorded footage of his crimes.

He is being held in custody on charges of raping a child and sexually exploiting a minor, police said. In Tennessee, rape of a child is a Class A felony that carries a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison. Sexual exploitation of a minor is a Class B felony when the suspect possesses more than 100 images or materials that show a minor engaged in sexual activity.

Police Lt. Charles Warner told NBC News that Campos was being held Sunday on a $525,000 bond. The Franklin Police Department could not be reached for comment early Monday.

Police said employees at a local restaurant found a customer’s phone and went through it to try to reach the owner so they could return it. After stumbling upon “unconscionable videos and pictures of children,” they called the police, the department said. Federal Appellate Court Slaps Down Lower Court Judge, Reinstates Tennessee Ban on Tranny Surgery, Drugs for Children

A Tennessee law prohibiting doctors from providing medical care such as puberty-blockers and gender affirming surgery for transgender minors can go into effect immediately, a U.S. appeals court ruled Saturday.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said advocacy groups that had challenged Tennessee’s law could not show they were likely to prevail on their claims it violated the U.S. Constitution. The panel of three judges voted 2-1 to reverse a lower court’s decision that had blocked Tennessee from enforcing the law while it was being challenged.

“Life-tenured federal judges should be wary of removing a vexing and novel topic of medical debate from the ebbs and flows of democracy by construing a largely unamendable federal constitution to occupy the field,” Judge Jeffrey Sutton wrote for the appeals court.
