Thomas Massie Files to Run for Office in 2028 After House Primary Loss; Massie Warns More Epstein Retribution Is Coming

By Newsweek. Representative Thomas Massie has filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for the 2028 election cycle, signaling a potential political comeback after losing his recent House primary.

The announcement comes a week after the Kentucky Republican lost to Ed Gallrein in the Republican primary for Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, with 45.1 percent of the vote to Gallrein’s 54.9 percent. Massie’s loss came last Tuesday after a bruising campaign and a loud feud with President Donald Trump, who called him the “worst congressman in the Republican Party.”

Massie, who has served in Congress since 2012, announced the filing in a post on X just after noon ET on Memorial Day.

“I filed with FEC for the 2028 House race,” the post said. “This allows me to raise funds to continue my political operations supporting my position as a current office holder and as a potential candidate for federal office. I haven’t made a final decision about which office to seek, if I run.”

Thomas Massie accuses Todd Blanche of violating law over Epstein files

By The Hill. There’s a growing divide in how the Jeffrey Epstein fallout is being handled on both sides of the Atlantic, and now Republican Congressman Thomas Massie is turning up the pressure from inside his own party.

In a new interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Massie accused Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel of perjury and misleading the public about the Epstein files and whether other powerful people are implicated. And he made clear he’s not backing down.

Kristen Welker: “You have named names in the Epstein files in the past. Can we expect you to name more names in the coming weeks and months?”

Massie: “Yes … Todd Blanche is violating the law. There’s still millions of files they haven’t released. … We know from talking to the victims’ lawyers that their own 302 forms haven’t been released. We know that files have been over redacted. I have released at least three names of billionaires who are implicated in this. I don’t think it’s possible to get to convictions with Todd Blanche at the top and with the FBI director Kash Patel at the top because they’ve effectively both perjured themselves by saying that there’s nobody else in the files. Even Melania doesn’t believe that.”

That’s a pretty extraordinary accusation, and it speaks to the broader frustration surrounding the Epstein investigation: years later, many Americans still believe the full story has not been told. (Read more from “Thomas Massie accuses Todd Blanche of violating law over Epstein files” HERE)

Ousted Republican Warns More Epstein Retribution Is Coming

By Yahoo News. Republican Representative Thomas Massie has vowed to go scorched earth on the Trump administration—by unveiling previously unmentioned names related to the Epstein files.

The rogue Kentucky lawmaker pointed fingers at Donald and Melania Trump during an interview with NBC News’s Meet the Press Sunday, claiming that the first lady is well aware that the Justice Department’s public rollout of its investigation into the pedophilic web is incomplete.

Acting Attorney General “Todd Blanche is violating the law; there’s still millions of files they haven’t released,” Massies said. “We know from talking to the victims’ lawyers that their own 302 forms haven’t been released. We know the files have been over-redacted.

“I have released at least three names of billionaires who are implicated in this. I don’t think it’s possible to get to convictions with Todd Blanche at the top, and with the FBI Director Kash Patel at the top, because they’ve effectively both perjured themselves by saying that there’s nobody else in the files. Trump’s Push Fends off America First Thomas Massie’s Kentucky Reelection Bid; Massie Says He had to Find Primary Winner ‘in Tel Aviv’ to Concede Race (VIDEO)

By New York Post. President Trump claimed his latest political scalp Tuesday night after Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) lost his hotly contested House primary to the commander-in-chief’s hand-picked challenger, Ed Gallrein.

Gallrein, a Trump-backed farmer and retired Navy SEAL, triumphed over Massie by about 10 percentage points in the Bluegrass State’s Fourth Congressional District race, which will go down as the most expensive primary race in US history, with more than $32 million spent on political ads.

“For the same reason I entered as a Navy SEAL officer in 1983, because I had the audacity to think I could make a difference,” Gallrein said in a speech after winning. “I will serve this district, my party and my nation with that same audacity.”

Trump repeatedly urged his supporters to oust Massie, an MIT-educated, seven-term congressman, after he broke with the president on key votes and led the charge to release the files on the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Massie’s defeat came on the heels of Trump’s successful intervention in the Louisiana Republican Senate primary against Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who had voted to convict the 45th president following his impeachment for incitement of insurrection following the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Massie says he had to find primary winner ‘in Tel Aviv’ to concede race

By The Times of Israel. After being defeated in the GOP primary, US House Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky tells supporters that he would’ve announced his concession sooner but he first called his opponent “and it took a while to find Ed Gallrein in Tel Aviv.”

He also claims in his concession speech that young voters are still on his side.

“People that want somebody that will go along to get along, I’ve never heard of that strategy but that seems to be what the voters want,” Massie says. “But not the young voters.”

The crowd is still energetic despite Massie’s loss, and starts a chant of “No more wars!” that the congressman joins in on. Massie’s speech meanders through different topics and touches on other politicians before another chant start of “America First!” (Read more from “Massie says he had to find primary winner ‘in Tel Aviv’ to concede race” HERE)

Trump to Kentucky on Massie: ‘Vote the Bum Out’

President Donald Trump called for Kentucky residents to vote Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) out of office on Tuesday, labeling him a “bum” and as being a “true negative force.”

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump pointed out that “Massie voted against Tax Cuts,” and the border wall. Trump described Massie as being “The Worst Republican Congressman in History.”

“Bad Congressman Tom Massie voted against Tax Cuts, the Border Wall, our Military and Law Enforcement,” Trump wrote. “Actually, he voted against almost everything that is good. The Worst Republican Congressman in History. Kentucky, vote the bum out on Tuesday. We can’t live with this troublemaker for another two years. He is a true negative force!!!”

Trump’s post comes as he has on several occasions rallied behind Massie’s primary opponent, Captain Ed Gallrein. Trump has described Gallrein as being “a true Patriot” and an American hero.

“The incredible people of Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, who want desperately to get rid of Thomas Massie, the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman we have had in many years, gave us a mandate to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post in January. “The person that will help us do the job, and do it right, is Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, Fifth Generation Kentucky Farmer, and American Hero, Captain Ed Gallrein, a true Patriot.” (Read more from “Trump to Kentucky on Massie: ‘Vote the Bum Out’” HERE)

Trump Threatens ‘Weak Minded’ Boebert with Primary after She Campaigns for Massie

. . .The president openly solicited contenders on social media Saturday to primary Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) after she campaigned for Trump-foe Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.).

“Is anyone interested in running against Weak Minded Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District? You remember Lauren moved to the District when it became obvious that she couldn’t win in her original Congressional District (The Third!) — A Carpetbagger, indeed!” Trump posted on Truth Social Saturday.

Boebert, who moved to the more conservative 4th district ahead of her 2024 election, appeared with Massie at two campaign events in Kentucky Friday as he faces a fierce primary challenge from Ed Gallrein, a retired Navy SEAL who has Trump’s endorsement.

Massie is struggling to hold onto his seat after facing repeated accusations of disloyalty from President Trump, who he has accused of being in the “Epstein class.”

“Donald Trump told us that even though, you know, he had dinner with these kinds of people in New York City and West Palm Beach, that he would be transparent. But he’s not. He’s still in with the Epstein class. This is the Epstein administration,” Massie told ABC’s This Week in February. Trump Plot to Steal Thomas Massie’s Staff Revealed

The extraordinary lengths President Donald Trump allegedly went to keep his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein out of the spotlight included trying to poach the staff of a GOP nemesis.

Rep. Thomas Massie claims key members of his team were offered more prestigious jobs in the Trump administration in an effort to stall legislation that would have forced the Department of Justice to release all documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, according to The Atlantic.

The Kentucky libertarian told the magazine there was a “360-pressure campaign” from the Trump administration to derail his push for a congressional vote on releasing the so-called Epstein files last summer—pressure so intense it rippled across his entire orbit.

Most notably, Massie recalled multiple instances in which his staffers were offered administration posts or lucrative private-sector roles. One employee, he told The Atlantic, received an offer that would have doubled his salary just weeks before the House was set to vote on releasing the files.

“Did it ever occur to you that they might be offering you this job to basically make me less effective?” Massie said he asked the staffer. The aide, who turned down the job, replied, “That’s what my mom said.” (Read more from “Trump Plot to Steal Thomas Massie’s Staff Revealed” HERE)

Massie Seeks to Undo Trump’s Cancer-Causing Pro-Glyphosate Executive Order

At least one Republican lawmaker is formally pushing back on President Trump’s effort to boost a controversial herbicide, glyphosate, that’s reviled by supporters of the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement.

Trump this week stoked MAHA fury by issuing an executive order that seeks to “ensure an adequate supply” of glyphosate as a national security issue and grant “immunity” to makers of the pesticide under the Defense Production Act.

In response, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) drafted legislation to prevent the order’s implementation. Massie’s legislation also seeks to explicitly allow citizens to bring lawsuits related to exposure to glyphosate, the key ingredient in the frequently litigated Roundup weedkiller.

“This week I will introduce the ‘No Immunity for Glyphosate Act’ to undo the recent Executive Order which promotes glyphosate (Round-Up) and insulates manufacturers from liability,” Massie, who has broken with Trump on multiple issues, wrote on the social platform X.

Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) wrote on X that she was co-leading the effort.

Massie Torches AG Bondi: ‘I Have No Confidence’

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) said Sunday he has no confidence in Attorney General Pam Bondi, escalating tensions over the Justice Department’s handling of sensitive document disclosures tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

Appearing on ABC’s This Week, Massie did not mince words when asked by host Martha Raddatz whether he still trusted Bondi to lead the department.

“I don’t think Pam Bondi has confidence in Pam Bondi,” Massie said. “She wasn’t confident enough to engage in anything but name-calling in the hearing. And so no, I don’t have confidence in her.”

The Kentucky congressman sharply criticized Bondi’s responses during a recent congressional hearing, particularly over questions surrounding document redactions. Massie said he pressed the attorney general on who made the decision to redact the name of Lesley Wexner from a key document but received no clear answer.

“When I asked her specifically who redacted Lesley Wexner’s name from the one document that mattered, she couldn’t give me an answer. She wouldn’t give me an answer,” Massie said. “But ultimately, it’s her who is responsible for the document production. According to our law, the attorney general. It’s not Todd Blanche, it’s not the people below them. You can assign tasks to people, but you can’t assign your responsibility.”

Massie framed the controversy as part of a broader battle with powerful interests he claims are aligned against him.

“This is about the Epstein class, the people who are funding the attacks against me,” he said. “They may or may not be implicated in these files, but they were certainly rubbing shoulders with the people who are in these files. They’re billionaires who are friends with these people. And that’s what I’m up against.”

Thomas Massie Stands His Ground as Trump Backs Primary Challenger Over Maduro Operation Criticism

As political tensions intensify inside the Republican Party, Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie has again found himself at the center of a national debate — not for abandoning conservative principles, but for standing firmly on them.

Following Massie’s outspoken criticism of the weekend operation to capture Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro, former President Donald Trump called for a primary challenge against him and endorsed Navy SEAL veteran Ed Gallrein. Trump praised Gallrein as an “America First” candidate and urged supporters to rally behind him.

Trump issued a blistering post on Truth Social, labeling Massie a “weak and pathetic RINO” while touting Gallrein’s military credentials and support for the strike against Maduro. The endorsement signals a direct effort to unseat the Kentucky lawmaker for refusing to fall in line behind U.S. intervention abroad.

Massie, however, has never fashioned himself as a party-line politician. Over the years, he has built a reputation as one of the few Republicans willing to challenge executive power — regardless of who occupies the Oval Office.

His criticism of the Maduro operation was no exception.

Across multiple posts on X, Massie questioned the legality, strategic wisdom, and long-term consequences of the raid. In doing so, he echoed the same caution he has consistently applied to foreign conflicts, federal overreach, and hasty military action carried out without full congressional debate.

Rather than cheer another show of force overseas, Massie urged Americans to consider precedent, constitutional authority, and the risks of mission creep — themes that have long defined his political identity.

Yet even under intense pressure and open opposition from Trump himself, Massie has not backed down.

He has made it clear that his job is not to serve a political figure or movement — but the Constitution, his district, and the values he has defended since first entering Congress.

Whether voters ultimately reward that conviction or punish it at the ballot box remains to be seen. But one thing is undeniable:

Thomas Massie is standing his ground — not out of defiance toward his party, but out of loyalty to the principles he believes the party should stand for.

Thomas Massie a Little ‘Suspicious’ of Trump Reversal on Epstein Files

Republican U.S. Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky said he is a “little bit suspicious” of President Donald Trump after his reversal in stance on releasing files connected to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. . .

In a post to Truth Social on Sunday, Trump said in part, “As I said on Friday night aboard Air Force One to the Fake News Media, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown.’” . . .

Trump has labeled these efforts a “Jeffrey Epstein Hoax,” previously claiming Democrats are using the issue to distract from their own performance and that “only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.” . . .

While speaking with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Monday, Massie was asked his thoughts about Trump’s reversal on the issue.

“Well, he got tired of us winning,” Massie responded. “He decided to join us. Look, they could have done this four months ago, and instead they fought us every bit of the way. Now they want to be on our side, we’ll accept their support, but we’re, you know, a little bit suspicious of this sudden turn of events.”

GOP Lawmaker Hits Back After Donald Trump Appears To Knock His Marriage

By USA Today. Rep. Thomas Massie hit back at President Donald Trump this week, accusing the president of “trying to be a bully” after he appeared to criticize the Kentucky Republican’s recent marriage.

Trump on Friday, Nov. 14 shared a post on Truth Social asking if Massie got “married already,” saying “His wife will soon find out that she’s stuck with a LOSER!” Massie married Carolyn Moffa, a former congressional staffer for Sen. Rand Paul, last month. Massie’s late wife, Rhonda Massie, died in June 2024. They were married for over 30 years.

Massie and Trump have most recently been at odds because the Kentucky lawmaker and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-California, introduced legislation that would force the Justice Department to release a full version of the government’s files on accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The Trump administration has fought against the move. . .

But when asked about Trump’s comments during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” on Nov. 16, Massie joked that his wife said “we should have invited Donald Trump. He’s mad that he didn’t get an invitation.”

“We’re taking it with a grain of salt,” Massie said. “He’s being a bully, or trying to be a bully.” (Read more from “GOP Lawmaker Hits Back After Donald Trump Appears To Knock His Marriage” HERE)

‘Full on crash out’ as Trump pal implies dissenting GOP lawmaker ‘killed his wife’: report

By Raw Story. MAGA influencer Laura Loomer is under fire Sunday after calling the death of Rhonda Massie – the wife of Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) – a “mystery” and “bizarre,” with one independent journalist alleging Loomer to be “implying Massie killed his wife.”

In a social media post Saturday, Loomer posed what she called a “serious question” regarding the passing of Massie’s wife.

“How did Massie’s wife die? Is there a police report? Is there an autopsy report?” Loomer wrote in a social media post on X. “Why is this such a mystery? I’d like to know. I find it to be bizarre and I always have. Now there’s a much younger woman in the picture.”

Massie’s wife died last year due to “respiratory complications of chronic autoimmune myopathy,” according to coroner Amy Cox, and Massie has since remarried. Loomer has frequently targeted Massie for his efforts to release files on Jeffrey Epstein in direct opposition to President Donald Trump, whom she remains a strong ally to.

Independent journalist and documentary filmmaker James Li, however, tore into Loomer for what he described as her having a “full on crash out.”
