FBI’s Dan Bongino Rages at GOP’s Thomas Massie Over Whistleblower Accusations

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino harangued Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for speculating that President Donald Trump’s administration was trying to publicly out a whistleblower.

The Kentucky Republican posted a letter he had received from the FBI whistleblower’s attorney that said a Thursday morning meeting at the bureau’s Washington field office was intended to identify the individual who made a protected disclosure about the ongoing investigation into pipe bombs placed at the Democratic and Republican national headquarters on January 5, 2021.

“I received this troubling letter today from the attorney representing the most recent FBI whistleblower regarding the J6 pipe bomb investigation,” Massie posted. “Just a reminder to @FBIDirectorKash, in case this letter is warranted, federal law prevents retaliation against whistleblowers.”

Bongino fired back in a lengthy post on X, saying he had offered to brief the congressman over the phone but he did not answer.

“When I spoke with you [Wednesday] a little after 8am ET (screenshots attached), I offered you an in-person brief on our work,” Bongino posted on X. “We spoke for ten minutes. I called you back a bit after 7:30pm ET to again make that offer. You didn’t answer and have yet to call me back.”

JD Vance Attacks Thomas Massie—But It’s Massie Who Truly Represents ‘America First’

Vice President JD Vance took aim at Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie this week, accusing him of being “unwilling to provide” key votes for the Republican Party and claiming that his independent streak has alienated party leadership. But the truth is, Massie’s record shows he’s one of the few remaining members of Congress who actually embodies the America First values many politicians merely campaign on.

Speaking at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, Vance told the crowd that “every time Republicans have needed Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for a vote, he has been completely unwilling to provide it.” He added that Massie “always votes against the party,” suggesting that this is why President Trump has backed a primary challenger against him.

“It’s because we can never count on him for some of the most difficult votes,” Vance said. “I wish that that weren’t the case. I say that as somebody who’s known Thomas well before I got into politics, but politics is politics.”

But that criticism misunderstands what America First was supposed to mean. The slogan wasn’t about blind loyalty to party leadership or corporate donors—it was about defending American sovereignty, fighting corruption, rejecting endless wars, and protecting the rights and livelihoods of ordinary citizens. And on those fronts, Massie has delivered time and again.

In response to Vance’s remarks, Massie fired back with his willingness to stand alone when principles are at stake:

“When leaders of my own party protect sex traffickers, spend our grandkids into oblivion, fund endless wars, lockdown our citizens, bailout corporations, bow to other countries, and hurt small farmers… it’s true that I won’t be their yes man.”

That post, shared on X, was a direct shot at the political establishment—including within his own party—that has too often prioritized power and profit over the people they serve.

Massie has long been one of the few voices in Congress willing to challenge bipartisan corruption and globalist influence. He voted against massive omnibus spending bills that plunged the country deeper into debt, opposed military interventions that had no clear benefit to America, and called for the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files—a move that few in either party have supported.

In another recent X post, Massie pointed out that Congress has been actively avoiding accountability on the Epstein issue:

“This is a victory for victims. However, it appears that rich and powerful men in the United States have immunities and privileges exceeding those of Royalty in Britain. @SpeakerJohnson is avoiding a vote on releasing Epstein files by keeping the House in recess. It’s not a hoax.”

JD Vance’s criticism of Massie reveals a troubling shift in what the so-called America First movement has come to represent. Once rooted in anti-establishment populism, it now risks devolving into the very kind of political machine it was meant to oppose—demanding conformity instead of courage.

Massie, by contrast, has consistently fought to keep government accountable and restrained. He has resisted trillion-dollar spending packages, opposed corporate bailouts, and fought against unconstitutional lockdowns—all while refusing to sell out his convictions for political favor.

His independence isn’t betrayal—it’s integrity. It’s exactly what millions of voters wanted when they rejected the swamp in 2016.

Thomas Massie may not be the GOP’s “yes man.” But that’s precisely why so many Americans trust him more than the ones who are.

Sen. Rand Paul Backs Colleague Thomas Massie Amid Trump-Endorsed Primary Challenge

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has pledged full support for Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) as Massie faces a high-stakes primary challenge backed by former President Donald Trump in 2026. In an interview with POLITICO for “The Conversation,” Paul warned that Trump’s targeting of Massie sends a broader message to Republicans about internal discipline and loyalty.

“Thomas Massie is going to win,” Paul said. “I’m going to help him. I’m going to be with him every step of the way.”

Paul underscored that the threats to Massie from Trump and the pro-MAGA apparatus should alarm any lawmaker who values independence. According to Paul, Massie represents one of the most authentic voices of the Republican base — even as he clashes with Trump on key issues.

The contest in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District is shaping up as a proxy battle between Massie’s libertarian-leaning, constitutionalist style of conservatism and Trump’s command-and-control approach to GOP primaries.

Trump has endorsed challenger Ed Gallrein, a loyalist who recently launched his campaign, declaring: “This district is Trump Country. The president doesn’t need obstacles in Congress — he needs backup.”

Tensions between Massie and Trump have been rising in recent months. Massie has publicly challenged the former president and top GOP leaders on several key issues, including pushing to scale back presidential war powers, opposing Trump-backed congressional megabills, and demanding the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The congressman also took to X (formerly Twitter) to post:

Massie’s “America First” stance has consistently emphasized fiscal restraint and limiting U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts. He has opposed large-scale spending bills he views as inflating the national debt and championed constitutional limits on executive war powers, arguing that open-ended foreign engagements come at a high cost to American taxpayers and service members. Critics, including Trump and his allies, have portrayed Massie as obstructing the president’s vision of “America First,” accusing him of voting against mainstream conservative legislation and being insufficiently loyal to the MAGA agenda. Others have noted that Massie’s non-interventionism and fiscal purism put him at odds with voters who support strong international alliances or assertive foreign policies, highlighting the ongoing debate within the GOP about what “America First” truly means.

Jack Dorsey Backs GOP Rep. Thomas Massie for President in Surprise X Post

By New York Post. Jack Dorsey endorsed Kentucky congressman Thomas Massie for president — a surprise nod that lit up social media and showed the billionaire’s growing embrace of anti-establishment politics.

The Twitter co-founder and Block CEO posted a six-word message on X on Sunday night: “@RepThomasMassie for president.”

The post racked up millions of views within hours and drew a wave of reactions from across the political spectrum — from libertarian fans to Trump loyalists to progressives puzzled by Dorsey’s latest move.

Massie, the Republican lawmaker known for his maverick streak and frequent clashes with party leadership, quickly acknowledged the endorsement.

“I doubt I’ll run for POTUS, but I appreciate the support @jack,” Massie wrote in reply.

“I’d be happy if we could just get 4 or 5 more voices in Congress who don’t always just do what their party tells them.” (Read more from “Jack Dorsey Backs GOP Rep. Thomas Massie for President in Surprise X Post” HERE)

Ron Paul knocks ‘hysterical’ Trump ‘rant’ criticizing Rand Paul

By Yahoo News. Ron Paul, a former House of Representatives member and presidential candidate, hammered President Trump on Monday over a post calling his son, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a “nasty liddle guy.”

“In an hysterical rant over the weekend, President Trump has blasted Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) as a couple of ‘wackos’ who refuse to vote with the Republican Party,” Ron Paul, a Libertarian and former Republican who represented Texas in the House and thrice ran for president, wrote in a social media post.

“Meanwhile, President Trump has just announced that his first in-person fundraiser of the election cycle will be for…Lindsey Graham! Also today, Israel breaks ceasefire and kills dozens more Palestinians in Gaza,” he added.

The president has frequently slammed Rand Paul and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) as RINOs, meaning Republicans in name only, for breaking with the GOP on key legislative votes.

The Kentucky senator notably voted against Trump’s summer spending package dubbed the “one, big beautiful bill.” (Read more from “Ron Paul knocks ‘hysterical’ Trump ‘rant’ criticizing Rand Paul” HERE)

Rand Paul says Trump didn’t invite him to GOP lunch

By The Hill. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Tuesday he was not invited to lunch at the White House with other Republican senators, after President Trump noted his absence.

“I actually wasn’t invited to the White House lunch today, but that’s ok,” Paul posted on social media.

Instead, Paul said he was having a “Liberty Caucus” lunch with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who has also drawn Trump’s ire.

Trump hosted Republican senators in the Rose Garden on Tuesday to express his appreciation after the upper chamber advanced dozens of nominees, and to present a united front as the government shutdown drags into its fourth week.

At one point, Trump marveled at the attendance, noting only one senator was not there, without naming them. (Read more from “Rand Paul says Trump didn’t invite him to GOP lunch” HERE)

Raging Trump Demands House Republican Be ‘Thrown Out of Office’

President Donald Trump took a shot at another rogue Republican on Friday who has proven to be a thorn in his side, calling Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) “weak and pathetic” and demanding he be “thrown out of office.”

Moments after Trump trashed Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on his Truth Social platform — and took a moment to boast he had freed a disgraced former Republican congressman who pleaded guilty to fraud — the president aimed another rogue Republican.

“Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love, and won big SIX TIMES, must be thrown out of office, ASAP! The incredible people of Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District gave us a mandate to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that will help us do that is Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Fifth Generation Kentucky Farmer, Captain Ed Gallrein, a true America First Patriot,” wrote Trump.

Trump said he hopes Gallrein will run against Massie, “who is now polling at about 9% because the Great People of Kentucky are wise to him — He only votes against the Republican Party, making life very easy for the Radical Left.” (Read more from “Raging Trump Demands House Republican Be ‘Thrown Out of Office’” HERE)

‘Orwellian:’ GOP Congressman Publicly Hits Back Against Stephen Miller

U.S. Rep Thomas Massie (R-KY) recently celebrated Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s decision to reject a deal from the Trump administration, leading to a public dispute with Stephen Miller.

Raw Story reported on the MIT’s initial statement saying it cannot support the Trump admin’s plan. That led Massie to reply with, “The surest way to screw up the world’s best technical school is to let feds tell them how to run it… Congrats to my alma mater for turning down a bribe to let the executive branch dictate what happens on its campus.” . . .

Trump adviser Stephen Miller chimed in on that post, writing, “MIT is a federally funded and financed institution. The US government asked MIT, as one of America’s largest recipients of taxpayer dollars, to certify that students and professors will be hired based on objective merit and not skin color.” . . .

Massie himself then responded to Miller.

“Undergrad tuition is privately funded at MIT with a few exceptions like Pell grants which apply to all colleges,” Massie wrote. “I trust MIT more than any party at the White House to know which 18 yr olds can solve differential equations. Also, Feds policing speech on campuses is Orwellian.”

WATCH: Rep. Thomas Massie Confronts FBI Director Kash Patel Over Epstein Trafficking Claim

In a fiery exchange on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) directly challenged FBI Director Kash Patel over his recent claim that no “credible information” exists tying Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking operation to any individuals beyond Epstein himself.

Massie, a vocal proponent of government transparency and a longstanding advocate for the release of the Epstein files, pressed Patel over his testimony before the Senate earlier this week — and used the opportunity to read out a partial list of prominent figures who, according to victims, were allegedly involved in Epstein’s trafficking network.

“Director Patel, I watched some of your Senate hearing yesterday,” Massie began. “You said there’s no credible information that Epstein trafficked these women to anyone else. But that doesn’t match the evidence the FBI already has.”

Massie then cited FBI Form 302s — official records of witness interviews — which, he said, contain testimony from victims naming at least 20 men, including Jes Staley, the former CEO of Barclays Bank. Other unnamed individuals, according to Massie, include a Hollywood producer worth hundreds of millions, a royal prince, a government official, several billionaires, and even a magician.

“We know these people exist in the FBI files, the files that you control,” Massie said. “I don’t know exactly who they are, but the FBI does.”

He then asked Patel directly: “Have you launched any investigations into any of these people, and have you seen these 302 documents?”

Patel responded that while he had tasked FBI agents with reviewing all Epstein-related material, no new indictments had been brought forward, and no new credible evidence had been presented to him personally.

“We’re working with Congress to divulge that information and produce it to you,” Patel said. “But there have been no new materials brought to me.”

Massie didn’t hold back.

“So is the loophole here that you’re saying these victims aren’t credible? That the 302s maybe didn’t produce credible statements that rise to probable cause?” he pressed.

Patel denied making that assertion, attributing the lack of prosecution to the judgment of two separate U.S. Attorneys’ Offices under three different presidential administrations — none of which pursued further charges based on the documents.

The congressman, however, refused to let the matter drop.

“Are the 302 documents in the FBI’s possession?” Massie asked.

“They reviewed all that, yes, sir,” Patel replied.

“And have you reviewed them — the ones where the victims name the people who victimized them?”

“If I personally—no. But the FBI has,” Patel admitted.

That prompted a pointed response from Massie:

“So how can you sit here and in front of the Senate and say there are no names? I named one today.”

Patel responded that the FBI doesn’t typically release names of either victims or individuals tied to unproven allegations, especially when the agency has determined that the information does not meet a threshold of credibility or probable cause.

“We are not in the habit of releasing incredible information,” Patel said. “Multiple authorities have looked at the entirety of what we have.”

But Massie wasn’t satisfied.

He underscored that the limitations of prior investigations — particularly the controversial 2007 non-prosecution agreement signed in Florida — did not apply to the 2019 Epstein indictment in the Southern District of New York, which, he noted, generated a fresh wave of interviews and supporting documentation.

That distinction, he argued, invalidates Patel’s claim that earlier constraints hampered the FBI’s ability to follow through on victim allegations.

As outrage continues to build across the political spectrum over the lack of public accountability in the Epstein case, Massie’s interrogation marks one of the most direct public challenges to the FBI’s current handling of the matter — and raises fresh questions about why the names of alleged accomplices remain sealed, even years after Epstein’s death.

“We owe the American people the truth,” Massie said. “And I intend to keep asking.”

Massie Warns Trump, AIPAC to Think Twice Before Trying to Take Him Out

Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie warned that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and President Donald Trump’s attempts to primary him in the upcoming midterms could backfire in an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller.

“The political calculus that both the president and AIPAC have to consider is, if they go after me and lose, they’ve lost a lot of credibility — both of them,” Massie told the Caller.

The Caller reported exclusively Thursday that AIPAC is fielding primary challengers to take on Massie in the 2026 midterm elections.

“I’m aware that foreign lobbyists have conducted a push poll and are trying to recruit another candidate to run against me, due to my opposition to foreign aid and forever wars,” Massie told the Caller in a statement.

Trump’s political allies are also gearing up to replace Massie, Axios reported, as the president attacked him for his positions on the Israel-Iran war and the “Big Beautiful Bill.”

Massie suggested, however, that such efforts might be in vain. (Read more from “Massie Warns Trump, AIPAC to Think Twice Before Trying to Take Him Out” HERE)

Far-Left ‘Squad’ Democrats Sign On to Thomas Massie Bill to Prevent U.S. Forces From Engaging With Iran

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has introduced bipartisan legislation aiming to rein in President Donald Trump’s power when it comes to the American position on the Israel-Iran war.

“This is not our war. But if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution,” Massie posted on X. “I’m introducing a bipartisan War Powers Resolution tomorrow to prohibit our involvement. I invite all members of Congress to cosponsor this resolution.”

While he remains the sole Republican backing such a legislative effort, several top Democrats from the far-left of the Democratic Party, including “Squad” members Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN), have indicated they are signing on to the Massie proposal.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) replied directly: “Signing on.”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) added, “I look forward to supporting this War Powers Resolution. The American people aren’t falling for it again. We were lied to about ‘weapons of mass destruction’ in Iraq that killed millions and forever changed lives. It’s unconstitutional for Trump to go to war without a vote in Congress.” (Read more from “Far-Left ‘Squad’ Democrats Sign On to Thomas Massie Bill to Prevent U.S. Forces From Engaging With Iran” HERE)

Thomas Massie Takes Apparent Swipe At Right-Wing Influencers After Angering MAGA

Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie highlighted people accused of being “paid grifters” in a blisteringly critical Tuesday tweet, calling for disclosure of payments allegedly made for influence.

“If we’re going to have campaign disclosure laws at all, the paid grifters on X and other platforms should be required to disclose who’s paying them to influence elections,” Massie tweeted Tuesday morning.

Tuesday wasn’t the first time Massie called out those he claimed were “paid influencers.”

In January, popular social media creator “Catturd” appeared to threaten Massie with a defamation lawsuit after Massie seemed to call the creator out.

“Who are the most nenarded paid influencers on this platform?” Massie asked in a January tweet.
