By Shay Woulahan. An Australian brand that specializes in swimwear for surfers has come under fire after bringing on a trans-identified male as one of their “female” brand ambassadors. Rip Curl’s controversial move comes just months after the company dropped Bethany Hamilton, a shark attack victim, for voicing her opposition to trans-identified males competing in female sporting competitions.
Rip Curl cut ties with Hamilton in November 2023, despite her status as one of the most celebrated female surfers in Australia and abroad. The decision came after Hamilton publicly opposed gender ideology policies which permit males to compete against women.
Last February, Hamilton shared two videos to her Instagram account questioning October 2022 guidelines adopted by the World Surf League, in accordance with the International Surfing Association, which granted males who claim a transgender status permission to compete against female athletes.
“Is a hormone level an honest and accurate depiction that someone indeed is a male or female? Is it as simple as this?” she asked. In her follow up video, she questioned the policy again. “Am I just a hormone number? Is it as simple as that?”
In her reaction to the new guidelines, Hamilton had also threatened to boycott the World Surf League, and has been outspoken in support of fairness in women’s sports on social media since. Transgender Male Found Guilty of Torturing Victim, Treated Corpse “Like Garbage”
By Genevieve Gluck. A trans-identified male was one of two men found guilty this week in a San Francisco court of the brutal torture and murder of a young man. David Anderson, 41, who identifies as transgender and uses the name “Angel,” hung 23-year old George Randall-Saldivar from the ceiling by a noose before raping him and injecting the victim with a lethal dose of fentanyl, the court heard.
Prosecutors told the jury that the young man was still alive when Anderson and his accomplice, 52-year-old Gerald Rowe, stuffed Saldivar into a suitcase, which they rolled down the street before dumping into the San Francisco Bay. Assistant District Attorney Charly Weissenbach said the killers treated the man “like garbage.”
Weissenbach told the court that the crime involved “some of the most egregious charges and horrific facts anyone should ever have to hear, let alone experience.”
She added: “While this conviction cannot undo the hours of torture and painful poisoning experienced by the victim, it does condemn the depravity of the defendant’s acts along with the inhumane way he handled the victim’s remains when he threw him into the Bay like garbage.”
According to testimony heard at the trial, Saldivar was an “acquaintance” of the killers, and had visited Rowe and Anderson at Rowe’s apartment on Market Street on February 3, 2019. Man Who Recently Began Identifying as a “Woman” Charged in the Stabbing Death of His Mother and Her Beloved Dog
By Reduxx Team. A trans-identified male is in custody following the horrific stabbing death of both his mother and her beloved dog. Andre Eugene, who reportedly identifies as a “woman,” is facing charges of murder in the second degree and aggravated cruelty to animals.
Eugene’s mother, Donna Marie Hyman, was found dead in her Brooklyn apartment on January 19 after police were called by Hyman’s sister. The woman says she had received a call from Hyman, but when she answered could only hear blood-curdling screams. . .
Eugene worked as a paraprofessional with kindergarten-aged students at the Henry D. Woodworth School in Brooklyn. At the time of this writing, his name still appears on the staff roster for the school.
Following Eugene’s arrest, there were some discrepancies in the way in which the crime was reported. While most media outlets correctly referred to Eugene as Hyman’s son, information was later released by police which indicated that Eugene identified as a transgender “woman.”
While it is unclear when Eugene began to transition, multiple early photos of him and his mother posted to her Facebook show him with a masculine appearance. Comments under photos featuring Eugene all suggest he was well-liked by friends and family.
