Global Sports Authority Incentivizes Child Sex Changes

The international governing body for competitive swimming, FINA, is facing criticism for a new policy that could incentivize children to pursue sex changes.

FINA’s new gender inclusion policy, enacted Sunday, requires transgender competitors who wish to compete in women’s events to have transitioned by age 12. 71.5% of FINA members voted in favor of the new policy, which will also apply to collegiate competitions sanctioned by the NCAA.

Voices on both sides of the transgender athlete debate criticized the new policy. LGBT rights advocates said the policy was effectively a ban on [transgenders] from competing in women’s events. Proponents claimed the policy was long past due, because biological men who transitioned to being female after beginning puberty have a competitive advantage over biological women also competing.

The Science on Brain Development Rebukes Those Pushing Gender Transition on Kids

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is currently considering publishing regulations that will push for potentially irreversible medical and surgical interventions for people with gender dysphoria in the name of health care. In April, HHS Assistant Secretary Rachel L. Levine stated “gender affirming care is medical care” and included children and adolescents in that equation.

Levine also reaffirmed a principle articulated by Hippocrates that physicians should do no harm. Can a physician provide interventions like potentially sterilizing hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents without doing harm? Research on adolescent brain development and decision-making indicates these two concepts are contradictory.

Our society is encouraging adolescents to make crucial decisions with lifelong consequences as research continues to document the immaturity of the adolescent brain. It does not utilize the strategizing and planning center, the prefrontal cortex, in the same manner as adults.

The American College of Pediatricians, of which I am a board member, just published a new position statement entitled “The Teenage Brain: Under Construction” with research showing that adolescents’ brains are not developed enough to make sound decisions, and this should inform potential medical and surgical interventions on minors with gender dysphoria because of their lifelong consequences.

Neuroscientists studying decision-making have found adolescents are much more likely to rely upon emotions and peer pressure and less likely to consider future consequences. Researchers now talk about two systems for decision-making in the brain: a socioemotional system and a cognitive-control system. Transgender Health Org Pushing Children to Transition ‘Even Younger’

Despite the harmful consequences of early sex reassignment treatments, a transgender health association is now lowering its recommended ages for children to begin permanently altering their bodies.

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health previously had guidelines recommending transgender children begin hormone treatments at age 16 at the earliest. Now they’re lowering it to age 14.

Many of the effects of hormone replacement treatments are entirely permanent. A UCSF study says:

Biden Announces Expansion of Access to Sex Changes for Children

President Joe Biden will sign a “historic” executive order Wednesday ordering the Department of Health and Human Services to expand efforts to increase the ability of Americans (including children) who identify as transgender to obtain sex-change surgeries.

“President Biden believes that no one should face discrimination because of who they are or whom they love. Since President Biden took office, he has championed the rights of LGBTQI+ Americans and people around the world, accelerating the march towards full equality,” the Biden administration said in a fact sheet issued June 15.

The executive order will address the slew of Republican legislation banning transgender surgeries for minors and biological males from girls’ spaces — legislation dubbed by the Biden administration as “legislative attacks against LGBTQI+ children and families.”

It will also “crack down” on conversion therapy, which the Biden administration describes as “a discredited and dangerous practice that seeks to suppress or change the sexual orientation or gender identity of LGBTQI+ people,” ordering HHS to “explore guidance to clarify that federally-funded programs cannot offer so-called ‘conversion therapy.’”

“Over 300 anti-LGBTQI+ laws have been introduced in state legislatures over the past year, and many of them specifically target transgender children and their parents by banning access to medical care and support at school,” the Biden administration fact sheet said. “President Biden is addressing these harmful, hateful, and discriminatory attacks head-on – not only by speaking up for America’s families, but taking action to stand up to the bullies targeting LGBTQI+ people.” (Read more from “Biden Announces Expansion of Access to Sex Changes for Children” HERE)

Men Protest Trannies’ Story Hour for Kids in Public Library, Now Investigated for Hate Crimes

Authorities are investigating a possible hate crime after alleged members of the far-right group Proud Boys shouted anti-LGBTQ slurs during a “Drag Queen Story Hour” for young kids at a San Francisco library over the weekend.

Deputies were called to the San Lorenzo Library on Saturday afternoon after five men allegedly stormed the reading for preschool-age children during Pride Month, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said. . .

Local drag queen Panda Dulce, who was hosting the event, claimed the men shouted “tranny” and “pedophile” as they disrupted the event.

The deputies were able to “de-escalate” the situation, the sheriff’s office said.

New Study Estimates 1.6 Million in the United States Identify as Transgender

A study published Friday estimates that approximately 1.64 million people over age 13 in the United States are “transgender.”

Reuters reported that the study done by researchers at UCLA’s Williams Institute claims that 0.5 percent of all American adults, 1.3 million people, and about 300,000 youth 13 to 17 years old identify as transgender. This means the individual “identifies” with a different gender than the sex they were assigned at birth.

The executive summary from the study says that there are more “transgender women” than “transgender men.” There are over 300,000 people who are “gender nonconforming.”

Over 1.6 million adults (ages 18 and older) and youth (ages 13 to 17) identify as transgender in the United States, or 0.6% of those ages 13 and older.

Among U.S. adults, 0.5% (about 1.3 million adults) identify as transgender. Among youth ages 13 to 17 in the U.S., 1.4% (about 300,000 youth) identify as transgender.

Outraged Viewers Bombard Fox News for Segment Promoting Child Gender Experiments

Fox News viewers, prominent Christians, and conservative pundits publicly bombarded the network Friday, after it aired a glowing news segment promoting a 14-year-old girl named Ryland, whose parents began pushing her to dress like a boy when she was an infant.

“We highlight the story of Ryland Whittington, whose journey of transitioning at age five has been seen by 7 million people in a family YouTube video,” “America’s Newsroom” host Dana Perino began, introducing the segment. “[Correspondent] Bryan Llenas has a story about that family that hopes their experience can help others.” . . .

“Before Ryland could even speak, ‘he’ managed to tell his parents that he is a boy,” Fox News’s Bryan Llenas told viewers. This, he continued, inspired the parents to begin gender experimentation on the child.

Llenas concluded the section by praising the family’s “extraordinary courage” and thanking them for coming on the show, “particularly at a time when transgender issues have been politicized.”

Drag Queen Story Hour Director Pushes Gun Control to ‘Protect Children’: ‘Drag Queens Aren’t Going Into Schools to Shoot Kids’

Drag Queen Story Hour executive director Jonathan Hamilt said that gun control is needed to protect kids.

“You know, 19 students just got shot in Texas, and Texas legislation wants to ban minors from going to drag shows. It makes zero sense. It’s a sad, sorry excuse… [for] the lack of gun control, and that’s the real issue,” Hamilt said, according to the Independent.

A school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, last month left 19 children and two teachers dead.

Texas Judge Halts Transgender Child Abuse Investigations

A Texas judge on Friday granted a temporary restraining order to block the state from investigating two families with children who are claimed to be transgender.

Travis County District Court Judge Jan Soifer agreed with the parents of the kids that the families face immediate harm from the investigations.

Also during the hearing, the state’s attorney revealed that the state has closed the child abuse case into one of the families, the Briggles.

The Briggles were one of at least nine families under state investigation for allowing their child to receive medical treatment that affirmed the child’s preferred gender, such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy. (Read more from “Texas Judge Halts Transgender Child Abuse Investigations” HERE)

Survey: Over 5% Of America’s Young Adults Identify as Transgender, Nonbinary

Over five percent of Americans from 18 to 30-years-old identify as “transgender” or “nonbinary,” according to a new survey.

Of the nearly three million young adults, about two percent identify as transgender and three percent identify as nonbinary, per a Pew Research Center survey published June 7.

Pew defined nonbinary as persons who “are neither a man nor a woman or aren’t strictly one or the other.”

“The share of U.S. adults who are transgender is particularly high among adults younger than 25,” according to Pew, where 3.1 percent associate with the two gender identities, compared to only 0.5 percent between the ages of 25 and 29.
