A ‘Failed Legacy:’ Tulsi Gabbard Blisters Hillary Clinton In Op-Ed

Failed 2016 presidential contender Hillary Clinton may have gone silent on Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), the 2020 Democratic presidential contender whom Clinton suggested was a Russian plant designed to upend the upcoming election. Tulsi Gabbard, however, hasn’t forgotten their feud.

In a Wall Street Journal opinion piece published Wednesday, Gabbard says she is running for president in order to “undo Mrs. Clinton’s failed legacy,” citing her 2016 endorsement of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) against Clinton in the Democratic primary as proof she and Clinton have been in conflict for years.

Gabbard says that, in the years since Clinton’s last presidential run, she’s all but forgotten about Donald Trump’s chief rival but it’s now clear Clinton hasn’t forgotten about her. . .

“Whether Mrs. Clinton’s name is on the ballot or not, her foreign policy will be,” Gabbard wrote, adding that she’s battling a dozen other candidates who “adhere to her doctrine of acting as the world’s police, using the tools of war to overthrow governments we don’t like, wasting taxpayer dollars, costing American lives, causing suffering and destruction abroad, and undermining America’s security.”

Hillary Clinton has been silent in response, but her allies have not. Instead of hitting at Gabbard directly, Clinton associates have been conducting something of a whisper campaign, fomenting a concern among Democrats that Gabbard really is marshaling her troops for a third party bid — or at least a Democratic convention coup. Tulsi Gabbard Challenges ‘Cowardly’ Hillary Clinton

Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said 2020 Democratic hopeful, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) is “the favorite of the Russians,” and that she and Jill Stein, the 2016 Green Party presidential nominee, are “totally” Russian assets.

Speaking during the Campaign HQ podcast last week, Clinton told podcast host David Plouffe that Russians were “grooming [Gabbard] to be the third party candidate,” adding, “They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far.”

“I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on someone who’s currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate. She’s the favorite of the Russians,” Clinton said. “And that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she’s also a Russian asset. Yeah, she’s a Russian asset — I mean, totally,” she added.

Gabbard responded to Clinton on Twitter, saying, “You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain. From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose. It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly.” (Read more from “Tulsi Gabbard Challenges ‘Cowardly’ Hillary Clinton” HERE)

Iraq War Vet, now Democratic Congresswoman Strongly Opposes Military Strikes Against Syria

Picture Tulsi GabbardDemocratic congresswoman and Iraq War veteran Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii stated her opposition earlier this week to punitive military strikes against Syria, underscoring the Obama Administration’s struggle in trying to rally even members of his own party to back the use of force.

After participating in public and private sessions on Capitol Hill, Gabbard stated a U.S. military strike would be a serious mistake.

“As a soldier, I understand that before taking any military action, our nation must have a clear tactical objective, a realistic strategy, the necessary resources to execute that strategy, including the support of the American people, and an exit plan,” Gabbard said in a statement. “The proposed military action against Syria fails to meet any of these criteria.”

Gabbard, who served near Baghdad for a year and was a medical operations specialist, is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The congresswoman joins other Democrats from Obama’s native state, including Sen. Brian Schatz and Rep. Colleen Hanabusa, in opposing aggressive U.S. military intervention in the Syrian civil war.

Rep. Gabbard explains her opposition to Greta Van Susteran “On the Record.”
