Alarming Surge: U.S. Military Sees 100-Fold Increase in Weight-Loss Drug Prescriptions

The number of U.S. military service members on weight-loss drugs have jumped nearly 100-fold since 2018, according to a recent analysis of Defense Department data.

On Thursday, Stars and Stripes, an independent military publication, reported on the study posted in the Medical Surveillance Monthly Report, a peer-reviewed journal for the armed forces. According to the latest report out in January, the prevalence of weight-loss drug prescriptions for U.S. military personnel skyrocketed from 1.2 per 100,000 service members in 2018 to 104.4 per 100,000 members in June 2023.

“Use of weight loss medications will likely continue to increase due to the ongoing obesity epidemic in the U.S.,” researchers noted, with obesity among the armed forces already on the rise. The prevalence of obesity jumped from just more than 16 percent among full-time active service members to nearly 19 percent in 2021. Roughly 67 percent of the U.S. adult population aged 18 and older were qualified as either obese or overweight in 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

The CDC estimates the Pentagon spends about $1.5 billion in obesity-related health costs and loses 658,000 work days due to it each year. In 2018, the Department of Defense authorized the use of four weight-loss drugs due to the crisis within the military’s ranks.

U.S. lockdowns accelerated the pace of weight gain with nearly 10,000 Army service members emerging obese, according to the Associated Press last spring. Military prescriptions for weight-loss drugs went from 7 in January 2018 to 816 in June 2023. Weight-loss injections such as semaglutide, which was included in the list of medications covered in 2021, can carry severe side effects, from kidney damage to stomach paralysis. Trump on U.S. Soldiers Killed: ‘Tragic Consequence of Joe Biden’s Weakness and Surrender’

Former President Donald Trump ripped President Joe Biden on Sunday after the administration announced that three U.S. service members were murdered and dozens more were injured in a terrorist attack carried out by Iranian-backed terrorists in the region. . .

“The drone attack on a U.S. Military Installation in Jordan, killing 3 American Servicemembers, and wounding many more, marks a horrible day for America,” Trump said. “My most profound sympathies go to the Families of the Brave Servicemembers we have lost. I ask all Americans to join me in praying for those who have been wounded. This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden’s weakness and surrender.” . . .

“Thanks to my Maximum Pressure policy, the Iranian Regime could barely scrape two dollars together to fund their terrorist proxies,” he said. “Then Joe Biden came in and gave Iran billions of dollars, which the Regime has used to spread bloodshed and carnage throughout the Middle East. This attack would NEVER have happened if I was President, not even a chance — Just like the Iranian-backed Hamas attack on Israel would never have happened, the War in Ukraine would never have happened, and we would right now have Peace throughout the World. Instead, we are on the brink of World War 3.”

“This terrible day is yet more proof that we need an immediate return to PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, so that there will be no more chaos, no more destruction, and no more loss of precious American lives,” he concluded. “Our Country cannot survive with Joe Biden as Commander in Chief.” (Read more from “Trump on U.S. Soldiers Killed: ‘Tragic Consequence of Joe Biden’s Weakness and Surrender’” HERE)

231 U.S. Service Members Demand Court-Martials Over Forced COVID Shots

On January 1, 2024, two hundred thirty-one current and former service members from various branches of the United States Armed Forces came together to sign the “Declaration of Military Accountability.”

This document, spearheaded by Commander Robert A. Green Jr. of the U.S. Navy, marks a significant moment in military history, calling for sweeping reforms and accountability within the Armed Forces.

Veteran Brad Miller wrote on X, “At 4 am EST today (a few min ago), senior military leaders received an email with a letter attached called the Declaration of Military Accountability. I know because I sent the email. I sent it on behalf of myself & 230 other signatories of the letter.”

“The letter is not addressed to the military leaders but rather to the American people. The email was merely to inform these military leaders that there is group of troops & vets pledging to the American public that we will do everything lawfully within our power to stop the willful destruction of our military by its own leadership. Let’s take our country back in 2024 & let’s begin by defending our military from its own leadership. You can find the body of the letter below. Soon we’ll have it on a website where you can find it as well, along with the names of the 231 signatories.

“The signatories, in their open letter to the American public, emphasize the importance of moral and religious foundations as articulated by Second U.S. President John Adams, stressing that the Constitution is designed for a society grounded in these values,” he added. Escalating Iranian-Backed Terrorist Attacks in the Middle East Heighten Concerns Over U.S. Response

In recent developments, the Middle East has witnessed a surge in attacks against U.S. forces by Iranian-backed terrorist groups, leading to growing frustrations among U.S. officials over President Joe Biden’s perceived lack of a forceful response. Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin reports that approximately a dozen attacks were launched within a 48-hour period, targeting various sites, including Al Asad Air Base, Mission Support Site Euphrates, Rumalyn Landing Zone, Patrol Base Shaddadi, Erbil, Green Village, and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

The onslaught, comprising missile and drone strikes, represents an alarming escalation in hostilities, with U.S. forces being targeted multiple times since October 17 by Islamic terrorist groups supported by Iran. Notably, these attacks have extended beyond ground forces, with missiles and drones being used against U.S. Navy warships in the Red Sea.

U.S. Central Command disclosed on Saturday that the French Navy successfully intercepted two Houthi drones in the Red Sea, originating from Yemen. The situation has prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to express concern directly to President Biden, indicating that Israel is prepared to take action against the Houthi terrorists if the U.S. fails to respond adequately. This warning follows repeated attacks by the Houthi group on shipping vessels associated with Israel.

Criticism of President Biden’s handling of the situation has intensified, with numerous U.S. defense officials expressing concern about the lack of a robust response. Critics argue that Biden’s approach, intended to avoid escalation, is inadvertently fueling an increase in attacks. Former CIA official Marc Polymeropoulos emphasized the need for immediate strikes on Houthi targets, stating that action is imperative.

Retired Vice Adm. John Miller, former commander of U.S. 5th Fleet, echoed these concerns, asserting that the U.S. is not taking the situation seriously, as the attacks have gone largely unanswered. Miller emphasized the failure to deter the perpetrators, stating that the current approach is not effectively preventing further acts of aggression.

Former Troops Seek Billions in Damages: Lawsuits Against U.S. Government Over Military Vaccine Mandate

In a significant legal development, former service members have initiated legal action against the U.S. government, seeking billions of dollars in damages due to the military vaccine mandate imposed by the Biden administration. Attorney Dale Saran, a retired Marine, along with fellow attorneys Andy Meyer and Brandon Johnson, is representing the former troops in three separate lawsuits filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. The legal team plans to consolidate these cases into a class-action lawsuit on behalf of a substantial number of service members affected by the mandate, alleging various infringements, including lost pay and benefits.

Saran, who successfully litigated against the Anthrax vaccine in the past, estimates the damages to be in the billions, stating, “It’s worth billions. That’s just flat-out. That’s what it is in backpay. It’s billions of dollars.” The lawsuits specifically address cases where service members were either discharged or given illegal orders to cease drilling activities, resulting in financial setbacks.

The legal proceedings shed light on the estimated 80,000 to 100,000 service members, encompassing both active-duty and reservists, who were impacted by the military vaccine mandate. Saran highlights the lack of due process in many instances, with no administrative separation boards, hearings, or federal recognition boards being conducted. This approach raises concerns about the abrupt dismissal of service members without proper procedural safeguards.

Among the affected individuals is Zach Loesch, a former Coast Guard member, who was personally thanked by President Joe Biden for his heroic efforts during Hurricane Ian. Ironically, Loesch was on the verge of being discharged from the Coast Guard for not complying with the vaccine mandate.

The legal actions focus not only on lost backpay but also on the repayment of enlistment bonuses. Saran explains that individuals who enlisted for a specific period and received bonuses are now being penalized for refusing the experimental vaccine. The cases underscore the complexities arising from the abrupt dismissal of service members without fulfilling their obligations and the subsequent demand for the return of enlistment grants.

Furthermore, Saran contends that the Pentagon already possesses the funds required to award backpay for those who lost active-duty or drill time. He alleges that the Department of Defense (DOD) has unlawfully withheld this money, characterizing it as stolen funds.

Reflecting on his past experience with the Anthrax vaccine, Saran expresses a sense of déjà vu. Having defended individuals who refused the Anthrax vaccine in the late ’90s and early 2000s, he draws parallels to the present situation, emphasizing that mass vaccination of unlicensed vaccines seems to indicate a lack of learning from past mistakes.

The lawsuits, identified as Bassen v. USA, No. 23-211C, Botello v. USA, No. 23-174C, and Harkins v. USA, No. 23-1238C, are currently pending in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, where Saran believes these claims of illegal discharges will be thoroughly examined. The legal proceedings highlight the ongoing challenges and controversies surrounding the military vaccine mandate, underscoring the financial and procedural implications for affected service members.

U.S. Military Bases in Iraq and Syria Targeted in Thanksgiving Day Attacks

On Thanksgiving Day, U.S. bases and troops in Iraq and Syria faced a series of attacks involving mortars and armed drones, as reported by Sky News Arabia. The assaults targeted U.S. and international forces in both countries, with incidents occurring at the Ain al-Asad air base west of Baghdad and the Harir base near Erbil Airport in northern Iraq, where U.S. troops are stationed. The attacks, orchestrated by a group identifying itself as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, included the deployment of suicide drones and claims of militia forces storming the base using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms.

Despite the intensity of the attacks, there were no reported casualties or damage to infrastructure. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for the assaults, and unconfirmed video footage purportedly showing the attack circulated online.

These Thanksgiving Day attacks mark the latest in a series of incidents targeting U.S. bases and troops in the region. Since October 17, the count of attacks has risen to 66, with at least 62 reported injuries. The surge in attacks began ten days after Hamas initiated an attack on Israel on October 7, resulting in over 1,200 casualties.

Retired Special Forces Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joe Kent, currently running for Congress in Washington state, criticized the situation, attributing the rocket attacks to two decades of failed U.S. policies and alleging corruption within the Biden administration.

As WW3 Looms, U.S. Army Shamelessly Releases New Recruitment Ad Featuring Only White Guys (VIDEO)

The US military is happily echoing the left’s nasty anti-white narrative. They’re marginalizing white men to elevate transgenders, the LGBTQ community, women, and minorities—until the moment white men are needed once more. Then, right on cue, they produce a fresh ad spotlighting only white men, a stark contrast to their usual rhetoric. This shameless flip-flop unfolds just days after we found out that officials hid the Nashville shooter’s anti-white manifesto from the public. Apparently white folks aren’t worth protecting, unless they’re men masquerading as women, like Lieutenant Colonel Bree Fram.

And of course, special standards are in effect for these “white guys.”

And while these “white guys” are the new military heroes and leaders…

. . .This is the advertisement Jack was talking about. It appears that when the military is in need of bolstering their numbers, they look towards white recruits. Yet, it seems that on any other given day, the military’s focus is on transgenders and, treating whites and Christians like evil predators. Now, they’re not even pretending to hide it. This twisted agenda is right out in the open for everyone to see.

White House Dismisses Iran Proxies Continuing to Strike Troops

. . .[CNN] Host Wolf Blitzer asked, “As you know, the U.S. struck Iranian weapons in Syria last night in retaliation for attacks on American forces. But since then, U.S. troops have already been targeted in four more attacks. So, are these U.S. retaliatory strikes actually working?”

Kirby answered, “It is not uncommon after we take a retaliatory strike for there to be some sort of secondary set of strikes by these proxy groups. We haven’t seen them be very effective. That doesn’t mean we’re taking it lightly or we’re undermining it at all. Obviously, we’ll continue to do what we have to do to protect our troops in Iraq and Syria. You heard the president talk about that today. Look, these proxy groups and the IRGC, the Revolutionary Guard Corps that supports them, resources them, trains them, funds them, gives them these capabilities, they have a choice to make. We’ve shown that we will do what we have to do to protect our troops in Iraq and Syria. We’ll continue to do that. If they want yet more responses from the American…military, then they’ll have to deal with the consequences for that, if they’re going to keep striking.” (Read more from “White House Dismisses Iran Proxies Continuing to Strike Troops” HERE)

Biden Admin Pleads With Iraq To Protect U.S. Troops in Region; Attacks on U.S. Troops in Middle East Spike Amid Military Buildup

By Daily Caller. The Biden administration is urging the Iraqi government to protect American troops stationed in Iraq against attacks from Iranian-backed militias, according to multiple reports.

There have been 38 confirmed attacks against U.S. targets in Syria and Iraq since the Hamas Oct. 7 terrorist attacks against Israel, raising concerns of a broader regional conflict in the Middle East. The Biden administration believes the Iraqi government has the capacity to protect these U.S. forces within the region and hopes the country will do so, the State Department told Rudaw Media Network Bureau Chief Duyar Kurda.

‘We believe that the Iraqi government does have the ability to hold those groups accountable, and we believe that that work is ongoing,” State Department spokesman Vedant Patel told Kurda.

Attacks on U.S. Troops in Middle East Spike Amid Military Buildup

By Politico. Attacks on American troops dramatically ramped up over the weekend, the Pentagon said Monday, as the U.S. military sent ships and a submarine into the region.

U.S. troops stationed in Iraq and Syria have been attacked by rockets and drones 38 times since Oct. 17, Pentagon spokesperson Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said Monday, an increase from 31 on Friday afternoon. Forty-six service members in total have now reported injuries from the attacks, which he called “harassing,” he said.

Ryder did not specify the source of the attacks, but the Pentagon has recently blamed similar events on Iran-backed proxies.

Sunday was a particularly violent day, with five rocket and one-way drone attacks near Al-Asad Airbase, Iraq, and in two locations in Syria, according to a Defense Department official, who was granted anonymity to give details on a sensitive topic.

The U.S. military was able to thwart most of the attacks, the official said, adding that the majority of missiles and drones failed to reach their targets. (Read more from “Attacks on U.S. Troops in Middle East Spike Amid Military Buildup” HERE)

Top U.S. Senators Warn Military Will Strike Iran Under Two Conditions

Top U.S. Senators said over the weekend that they are introducing a bipartisan resolution calling for military strikes against Iran if its terror proxies in the Middle East kill any U.S. soldiers or if Hezbollah opens up a second front against Israel.

Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) made the remarks during a CNN interview Sunday morning with Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”

The segment comes after Hamas murdered 1,400 Israelis in an unprecedented terrorist attack last month and Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed terrorist group in Lebanon, has conducted small scale attacks against Israel as it weighs whether to launch a full-scale attack.

“It basically says, if the war expands, if Hezbollah opens up a second front in the north against Israel in a substantial way to overwhelm Iron Dome, then we should hit the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Graham said. “There is no Hamas without the Ayatollahs’ support. There is no Hezbollah without the Ayatollahs’ support. The great Satan in the region is not Israel or the United States. It’s Iran.” (Read more from “Top U.S. Senators Warn Military Will Strike Iran Under Two Conditions” HERE)
