Despite Super Bowl Loss, Seahawks Quarterback Thanks God
Despite their loss to the New England Patriots, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson praised God for the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl again.
Wilson, a Christian, tweeted early Monday, “Thank You God for the opportunity. We’ll be back… I will never waiver on who He has called me to be… Thanks 12s #GoHawks.”
In what is being called one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever, the Patriots made a comeback in the fourth quarter that led to their victory, 28-24. While the Seahawks were expected to win their second consecutive Super Bowl when they stood at the Patriots’ 1-yard line, the ball was intercepted by Malcolm Butler when Wilson threw tried to throw it to Ricardo Lockette.
Coach Pete Carroll took the blame, saying he made the call to have Wilson throw the ball rather than run it.
