Wisconsin Judge Orders Police to Snatch People Off the Streets for Jury Duty

A judge in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin ran out of potential candidates for jury duty, so he sent the sheriff to randomly pick up people off the street and force them into jury duty. And under Wisconsin law, it’s perfectly legal.

According to WBBH (Fort Myers), Eau Claire County Circuit Court Judge Michael Schumacher was presiding over a case – the specifics of what kind of case have not been made clear, as of this post – when the jury pool ran dry. He then had his clerk, Susan Schaffer, contact Sheriff Ron Cramer, to randomly pull people off the streets and impress them into jury duty.

Raw Story explains that sheriff’s deputies approached adults who appeared to be over 18 randomly on the streets, and asked them if they had any prior felony convictions. They were then told to write down some information, and drive themselves to the courthouse. Those who failed would be met with a deputy at their door to forcibly bring them to the courthouse.

Schaffer explains that forced jury roundups are rare, but necessary . . .

Although being randomly forced into jury duty sounds horrifying, it’s perfectly legal in Wisconsin. Under Wisconsin’s “Insufficient Jurors” statute – which is rarely invoked – judges have the right to dispatch the police to randomly impress people into jury duty. This is One of the Best Engagement Photo’s Ever but Liberals Will Hate It

Engagement announcements are meant to let friends and family know about exciting wedding plans while also including some personal touches. One couple in Oregon was able to do that with a hilarious photo — and it has the added bonus of driving liberals crazy.

Stevie Beard and Brady Hogevoll recently hired a photographer to capture some professional images for their engagement announcement. While some of the shots were traditional, they also had a unique idea that proved to be very popular.

“I shot the photo on a property owned by Brady’s parents. They have over 150 acres along the Siletz River (in Oregon). The whole family is very into elk hunting and even hosts Make-A-Wish elk hunts on occasion,” explained Joshua Rainey, the photographer.

It was apparently the couple’s idea to do, er, the shoot, but they worked together with Rainey to improvise the setup.

“Stevie and Brady came up with the idea and surprised me with it during engagement photos. We worked together to figure out how the image should look and set it up quickly before sunset,” he said. (Read more about the engagement photo HERE)

Tranny Insanity: NYC Birth Certificates Asking the Unthinkable

Along with routine questions — mother’s maiden name, mother’s legal name, mother’s Social Security number — is a gender question that has raised a few eyebrows.

And just in case the inquiry is not clear, the birth-certificate request provides a convenient check box and asks the question in capital letters. “What is your DATE OF BIRTH, current AGE and SEX?” the form asks in the section clearly marked “Mother/Parent (Woman Giving Birth).”

“To be clear, it is possible for a person who has given birth to a child to identify as male,” said Susan Sommer, a lawyer for Lambda Legal, an advocacy group for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people.

Seahawks Quarterback: I Became a Christian After Jesus Visited Me in a Dream (+videos)

Russell Wilson, a native of Richmond, Va., who quarterbacks for the Seattle Seahawks, explained in a recent video about his religious background and spiritual decision.

“When I was a young kid, I used to always go to church. My parents used to always take me. I knew about God, but I was always playing sports. I was kind of a bad kid growing up,” said Wilson.

“I had a dream that my dad passed away and that Jesus came into the room and he was basically knocking on my door saying, ‘hey you need to find out more about me.’ So that Sunday morning I end up going to church and that’s when I got saved.”

Mayor of London: Islamic Jihadists are Porn-Obsessed W*****s

The London Mayor claimed, in an interview for The Sun, that the individuals who travel to Syria and Iraq to fight for Isis, also known as the Islamic State, needed to be demystified after he was handed an MI5 probe revealing the ‘typical’ profile of many of the young men.

Mr Johnson, 50, said: “If you look at all the psychological profiling about bombers, they typically will look at porn. They are literally w*****s. Severe onanists.” . . .

Saudi Imam Who Raped and Tortured Daughter to Death Released for Blood Money

By Albawaba News. A Saudi religious scholar who raped his five-year-old daughter and tortured her to death has been ordered to pay “blood money” to the mother following a short term in jail, members of female rights group, Women to Drive, said on Saturday.

A statement released by the group said the man’s daughter, Lama, was admitted to hospital on 25 December 2011 having sustained multiple injuries including a crushed skull, a broken arm and ribs and extensive bruising and burns.

According to the victim’s mother, hospital staff told her that her “child’s rectum had been torn open and the abuser had attempted to burn it closed”.

Lama died in October 2012.

Despite the brutality of the crime, the activists say a judge has ruled: “Blood money and the time the defendant had served in prison since Lama’s death suffices as punishment.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Female College Student Saves Boyfriend’s Life With Gun

Photo Credit: Wesh By Gail Paschall-Brown. Two burglars were thwarted by a University of Central Florida student with a gun, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the culprits barged into the student’s apartment after knocking on the door at the Village at Alafaya Club Tuesday night.

One of the residents answered the door and was forced to the ground at gunpoint as the men ransacked the apartment, investigators said.

“He grabbed me by the throat. He took me a little further into the living room and pushed me down and said, ‘Don’t move. Just stay down,'” UCF student Nour Skargee, 22, said. “They didn’t realize my girlfriend was in her room and thank God she was in her room. I yelled, ‘Hey, grab the gun.’ . . .

“I quickly closed my door and locked it to get some extra time to get the gun,” Nehme said. “He immediately, when he saw the gun, turned right back around, darted out and both of them fled the apartment.” (Read more about the female college student saving her boyfriends life HERE)

Man Holds Burglar at Gun Point After He Tries to Rob Victim’s Home

By Sam Cadle. Thanks to the watchful eye on a neighbor, a North Carolina homeowner was able to come home and catch a burglar in his home. The neighbor noticed a suspicious vehicle in the driveway and called the homeowner, John Painter, to let him know. When he arrived home he found his door forced open and when he went inside he found a man inside. He retrieved his handgun, held the burglar face down and called 911. All too often neighbors don’t help each other and make the calls, or investigate things that might be suspicious.

I do applaud the local Sheriff’s office for letting the public know that if you are able to safely, detaining someone is your right. Many times we hear law enforcement tell people to just leave the situation and go to a safe place, allowing a burglar to continue to ransack your home or even get away. Japanese Confirm Beheading of Kenji Goto

Photo Credit: International Business Times By Priya Joshi. The Japanese government has confirmed that a video showing the beheading of hostage Kenji Goto appears to be genuine.

The one minute-long footage was released by Islamic State (IS) on Saturday (31 January).

The video titled ‘A Message to the Government of Japan’ shows Mr. Goto dressed in an orange jumpsuit, kneeling on the ground as the executor, believed to be Jihadi John, delivers a scripted speech in which he threatens to inflict more brutality on the citizens of Japan.

He says: “Abe, because of your reckless decision to take part in an unwinnable war, this knife will not only slaughter Kenji, but will also carry on and cause carnage wherever your people are found. So let the nightmare for Japan begin.”

As Japan Grieves Over Second Citizen Slain by ISIS, Jordan Still Holding Their Breath

By Bill Neely. As Japan reels from the apparent beheading of a second citizen by ISIS, another country half a world away is holding its breath.

With the purported beheading of journalist Kenji Goto — just days after ISIS murdered another Japanese citizen — Tokyo has been dragged squarely into a conflict it has long sought distance from. Goto’s image is everywhere and Japan’s bleary-eyed Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has vowed the country will “never, never forgive” the terrorists who took him.

But while the world’s attention focused on the fate of two Japanese hostages — and collectively expressed outrage over their murders — ISIS has threatened to kill another captive whose fate has much greater significance in the battle for control of large swathes of the Middle East.

Jordanian pilot Lt. Muath al Kasasbeh was on a bombing run over Syria in December when he was forced to eject and immediately captured by ISIS fighters. His continued captivity — and ISIS threats to murder him — are a national trauma for Jordan.

Kasasbeh’s case underscores how ISIS has Jordan in its crosshairs. The terror group loathes the moderate Muslim regime and its king, viewing Jordan as a treacherous country for its decades-long alliance with the United States. Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Reject Actor’s Plea to Support Homosexual Pardon Campaign

Benedict Cumberbatch’s plea for Prince William and Kate Middleton to support a gay-rights campaign has been rejected.

Cumberbatch played pioneering World War 2 codebreaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. Turing was prosecuted for being gay, but he was given a posthumous pardon in 2013.

The actor has signed an open letter calling for some 49,000 other men similarly convicted under the old law to have the same treatment as Turing. The petition has already been signed by almost 90,000 supporters.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge yesterday rejected Cumberbatch’s plea to support the campaign, with a spokesperson saying that it is a matter for government, so they could make no comment.
