Will GOP Allow U.S. To Become Iranian Proxy?

Just a few days after Iran committed an act of war and seized a U.S. navy boat and its crew, Obama has announced the first $1.7 billion in direct payments to Iran. Concurrently, he has announced a deal in which Iran will return the four American captives. They will not be returned in exchange for all the money Obama is giving them and the control over the seas he has evidently surrendered to them. No, the Iranians get that for free. The release of the four hostages was in return for a major prisoner swap that could include as many as 21 Iranians.

Consider the following:

Over the weekend, the administration announced a settlement in which they will pay Iran $1.7 billion for assets our government froze in 1979 when the mad mullahs conquered Iran. Thus, in addition to the $150 billion in assets granted to Iran pursuant to the terms of the nuclear deal, the regime is now squeezing every penny from the original sanctions as far back as 36 years ago.

Obama purposely ignored the plight of the four American hostages as part of the nuclear deal so that he could allow Iran to force future concessions in return for their release. We now know which concession the Iranians were demanding. Obama is releasing seven Iranian prisoners and has agreed not to prosecute 14 others, some of whom are high valued supporters of Iran’s terror network.

While the details are still murky, at least “several” Americans were captured around Baghdad by local “militias.” Now, it doesn’t take a genius to know that the only militias that operate around Baghdad are the ones affiliated with the Iranian Quds force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.. If this turns out to be the case, it would represent another failure of our ridiculous Iraq policy in which we are serving as the Shiite military on behalf of Iran while Iran continues to humiliate us. This is a repeat of the entire Iraq war in which our military basically protected Iran from Saddam Hussein and the Sunnis only to helplessly watch them blow up hundreds of our soldiers with IEDs.

When criticizing Obama’s Iran policy, too many people are using the wrong ”a” word. This is not appeasement. Obama has formed an alliance with Iran against his own country. He is allowing them to engage in one act of war after another without any commensurate response so that they can use each event to extract more concessions.

On a side note, remember when Mitt Romney criticized Cruz for saying the U.S. would become the biggest state sponsor of terror with the Iran alliance?

Will Romney crawl out of the Mittness protection program to apologize? More likely, he’ll join the chorus defending #NewYorkValues. But I digress.

In a sane world with an authentic opposition party, we would not have surrendered the power of the purse. We would not have passed the Corker-Cardin bill, which legitimized the Iran deal.

Where do we go from here?

The Palestinians are one of the biggest proxies of the Iranian regime and likewise are among Obama’s chosen people. Republicans should immediately pass legislation being pushed by Ted Cruz and Rep. Mark Meadows to shut down all Palestine Liberation Organization offices in our country and suspend the $500 million in annual aid to Iran’s proxy.

Congress must refuse to confirm any more judicial nominees until Obama comes clean on all his side agreements with Iran and abides by the terms of his own deal [Iran has already violated the deal with multiple ballistic missile tests]. Of course, Republicans should already be blocking nominees for a host of other reasons.

In addition to blocking judicial nominees, Republicans should leverage executive nominees against Obama’s Iran policy. Next week, the Senate Armed Services Committee plans to hold a confirmation hearing on Eric Fanning to become the next Secretary of the Army. At a time when our military is being humiliated by Iran, Republicans must extract concessions from the next army secretary. In addition, we need answers about the terrible morale in the Army as well as the Obama administration’s social engineering of the military, which includes integrating women in direct ground combat, mixed boot camps, and the transgender agenda. Confirming nominees to serve in positions where Obama is perpetrating lawless or harmful transformations would represent yet another betrayal by Senate Republicans.

Congress should use must-pass bills, such as the upcoming Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill to shut down Obama’s Iran deal.

Yes, we will have a new president in 367 days, but we cannot afford another year with Obama humiliating our military and committing acts of treason with Iran. That is an eternity. Just last week, Iran’s army chief said they seized the American boat to send a message to Republicans in Congress to back off sanctions. Well, Republicans, did you get the message?

Our forefathers wouldn’t tolerate appeasement for a moment. They proclaimed, “millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute!” Why should we tolerate treasonous funding of terror for one more day? (For more from the author of “Will GOP Allow U.S. To Become Iranian Proxy?” please click HERE)

EPA Cleared of Bias in Alaska Mine Controversy Despite Lost Emails

Despite acknowledging it could not obtain more than two years of emails from a key employee, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Inspector General on Wednesday effectively cleared the EPA of allegations of bias in its quest to preemptively kill a proposed mine in southwest Alaska . . .

Tom Collier, CEO of Pebble Limited Partnership, the investment group behind the proposed copper and gold mine near Alaska’s Bristol Bay, said the EPA continues to “minimize the seriousness of its own misconduct with respect to the Pebble Project, while sweeping under the rug the complicity of its most senior officials.”

He called the IG’s report an “embarrassing failure” to understand what several congressional committees, an independent federal judge in Alaska and an independent review by former U.S. Defense Secretary William Cohen (in the Clinton administration) have already found — “that EPA acted improperly … and was biased in its actions.” (Read more from “EPA Cleared of Bias in Alaska Mine Controversy Despite Lost Emails” HERE)

US Recession Probability at Highest Levels Since Fall 2011

The chances of a recession in the United States are at their highest levels since the fall of 2011, according to the CNBC Fed Survey.

The survey also showed recession fears rising for the sixth straight time among respondents, and are now sitting at 28.8 percent.

One fairly reliable recession indicator, the spread between the 2-year and 10-year bonds has weakened just about to its lowest level since the last recession. But it tends to signal recession at zero… So at 118 basis points, it’s softer, but not soft enough to signal recession . . .

Manufacturing looks to be contracting. Corporate profits are said to be in recession. And exports are weak. But the consumer is strong as is job growth and the service sector. (Read more from “US Recession Probability at Highest Levels Since Fall 2011” HERE)

Shocking Video Shows Swedish Woman Being Harassed and Groped by Gang of ‘Migrant’ Men

By Sara Malm. This is the moment a young woman documents street harassment in Sweden, with at least two men asking her for sex after another allegedly groped her.

The video has emerged on social media this week, and is believed to have been filmed in Södermanland County, west of Stockholm.

The young woman appears to have been groped by one of the men’s friend as she is walking in the street, and has begun filming as she confronts the men.

However, instead of an apology for their friend’s behavior, one of the men asks her for sexual favors, appearing to take her for a prostitute.

The shaky video is likely to have been filmed in recent months as there is snow on the ground where the woman confronts the men. (Read more from “Shocking Video Shows Swedish Woman Being Harassed and Groped by Gang of ‘Migrant’ Men” HERE)

‘German Girls Are Just There for Sex’ What Migrant Told Woman as He Groped Her in Street

By Nick Gutteridge. Horrific details of another bout of sex attacks allegedly carried out by recently arrived refugees provoked more fury across the country tonight as calls to clamp down on mass migration continued to grow.

Police reports from the city of Dortmund released today claimed that a recently arrived refugee told one young woman that German girls are “just there for sex” after he approached her in the street and offered her money to sleep with him.

They also described a shocking incident in which three migrant men seemingly tried to impose Sharia Law on the streets of Germany, attempting to stone two women in public.

The disturbing reports are just the latest in an avalanche of revelations about refugee sex crimes to emerge since the sickening attacks in Cologne, when 1,000 migrant men went on the rampage raping and robbing women out celebrating New Year’s Eve.

The latest reports from Dortmund paint a terrifying picture of a city where it is now unsafe for women to go out at night for fear of being attacked and raped by refugees. (Read more from “‘German Girls Are Just There for Sex’ What Migrant Told Woman as He Groped Her in Street” HERE)

Lyme Disease–Carrying Ticks Are Now in Half of All U.S. Counties

The ticks that transmit Lyme disease, a debilitating flulike illness caused by Borrelia bacteria, are spreading rapidly across the United States. A new study shows just how rapidly. Over the past 20 years, the two species known to spread the disease to humans have together advanced into half of all the counties in the United States.

Lyme disease cases have tripled in the United States over the last 2 decades, making it the most commonly reported vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. The disease now affects around 300,000 Americans each year. If diagnosed early—a rash commonly appears around the site of the tick bite—Lyme can be effectively treated with antibiotics, but longer term infections can produce more serious symptoms, including joint stiffness, brain inflammation, and nerve pain.

To get a comprehensive map of where the two species—the blacklegged tick (Ixodes scapularis) and the western blacklegged tick (Ixodes pacificus)—were living, Rebecca Eisen and colleagues from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Fort Collins, Colorado, combined data from published papers with state and county tick surveillance data going back to 1996. They counted reports of tick sightings in each of the 3110 continental U.S. counties to determine whether those counties hosted an established population or just a few individuals. Ticks were considered “established” when sightings of at least six ticks, or two of the three life stages, had been reported in a year.

Their results, published in the Journal of Medical Entomology, show that the blacklegged tick has undergone a population explosion, doubling its established range in less than 2 decades. It is now reported in 45.7% of U.S counties, up from 30% in 1998. Blacklegged ticks are found in 37 states across the eastern United States. The rarer western blacklegged tick, restricted to just six states, has shown only modest increases in established populations, from 3.4% to 3.6% of counties. Combined, these two Lyme disease vectors are now found in half of all U.S. counties. (Read more from “Lyme Disease–Carrying Ticks Are Now in Half of All U.S. Counties” HERE)

Rise of the Robots Will Eliminate More Than 5 Million Jobs

Over five million jobs will be lost by 2020 as a result of developments in genetics, artificial intelligence, robotics and other technological change, according to World Economic Forum research.

About 7 million jobs will be lost and 2 million gained as a result of technological change in 15 major developed and emerging economies, WEF founder Klaus Schwab and managing board member Richard Samans said in “The Future of Jobs.” The findings are taken from a survey of 15 economies covering about 1.9 billion workers, or about 65 percent of the world’s total workforce.

The blurred lines between physical, digital and biological spheres amount to a Fourth Industrial Revolution, according to the WEF, which will address the idea as the idea at its annual meeting of policy makers, academics and economists in Davos, Switzerland. It’s already a hot topic thanks in part to books such as ‘The Second Machine Age’ and ‘The Rise of The Robots,’ while Bank of England Chief Economist Andy Haldane has warned that the millions of jobs at risk from automation are creating issues officials need to address.

“To prevent a worst-case scenario — technological change accompanied by talent shortages, mass unemployment and growing inequality — reskilling and upskilling of today’s workers will be critical,” the authors said. (Read more from “Rise of the Robots Will Eliminate More Than 5 Million Jobs” HERE)

This Is the Horrifying Thing Cocaine Can Do to Your Brain, According to Experts

High doses of cocaine can cause the brain to eat itself, research suggests.

A mouse study found that the drug can trigger out-of-control ”autophagy” – a process by which cells literally digest themselves.

When it is properly regulated, autophagy provides a valuable clean-up service – getting rid of unwanted debris that is dissolved away by enzymes within cell ”pockets”.

Dr Prasun Guha, from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in the US – who led the research published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, said: ”A cell is like a household that is constantly generating trash.

”Autophagy is the housekeeper that takes out the trash – it’s usually a good thing. But cocaine makes the housekeeper throw away really important things, like mitochondria, which produce energy for the cell.” (Read more from “This Is the Horrifying Thing Cocaine Can Do to Your Brain, According to Experts” HERE)

Martin Luther King Day Protest Blocks Traffic on the Bay Bridge

Protesters marching on Martin Luther King Jr. Day blocked traffic on the Bay Bridge after earlier interrupting traffic on an Interstate Highway 80 off-ramp in Emeryville, according to the California Highway Patrol . . .

All westbound lanes of the bridge reopened about 90 minutes after protesters shut down all lanes just east of Treasure Island Monday afternoon. Traffic was backed up for miles.

About 10 of the protesters chained cars together in a row to stop traffic on the bridge, police said. The demonstrators jumped out of vehicles and started marching and chanting. Others sat down in the lanes. The protesters, about two dozen of them, were eventually taken away by CHP officers to be arrested.

All 25 protesters arrested were booked into the San Francisco County Jail on misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment, public nuisance, unlawful assembly and obstructing free passage, according to the CHP.

Members of protest groups Black Seed and the Black Queer Liberation Collective took responsibility for the protest in a statement, citing recent police shootings. “We are here to move towards an increase in the health and wellbeing of all Black people in Oakland & San Francisco,” the groups wrote in a statement. Trump Just Hinted at His Potential Vice President Pick – Some Conservatives Will Be LIVID

By Jack Davis. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stirred the waters Saturday by suggesting that former Sen. Scott Brown would make a “very good” vice president.

Brown was the GOP’s choice to fill the U.S. Senate seat for Massachusetts that opened with the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy in 2009. He won a special election in 2010 but then lost to Elizabeth Warren in 2012. Brown moved to New Hampshire where in 2014 he challenged Democrat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen but lost in a close election.

Talk of the vice presidential spot began when, during a Portsmouth, New Hampshire., rally Brown was hosting, Trump asked Brown whether he would run again for office.

A member of the audience proposed a Trump-Brown ticket for the GOP in 2016.

“Vice president – hey, that sounds like it could, hey, hey, very good,” Trump responded.

“Hey, you know what? And he’s central casting. Look at that guy. Central casting,” he added. “He’s great. Great guy and a great, beautiful, great wife and family. So important.” (Read more from “Trump Just Hinted at His Potential Vice President Pick – Some Conservatives Will Be LIVID” HERE)

Donald Trump Ramps up Attacks on Ted Cruz, Says ‘He’s a Nasty Guy’

By Jonh Santucci. With two weeks left before voters in Iowa cast the very first votes in the 2016 presidential election, Republican front-runner Donald Trump is turning up the heat on his fiercest rival in the Hawkeye State -– Sen. Ted Cruz.

“I don’t think Ted Cruz has a great chance, to be honest with you,” Trump told ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos in an interview on “This Week” Sunday. “Look, the truth is, he’s a nasty guy. He was so nice to me. I mean, I knew it. I was watching. I kept saying, ‘Come on Ted. Let’s go, okay.’ But he’s a nasty guy. Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him. Nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him. He’s a very –- he’s got an edge that’s not good. You can’t make deals with people like that and it’s not a good thing. It’s not a good thing for the country. Very nasty guy.”

On the campaign trail, Trump is now questioning the freshmen Texas senator for a loan, first reported by The New York Times, that Cruz took out from Goldman Sachs during his 2012 Senate run that he failed to disclose in federal campaign finance documents. Beloved American Missionary Among 28 Killed in Al Qaeda Attack

By CNN Wire. An American who died in a terror attack in Burkina Faso moved halfway across the world with his wife to run an orphanage and women’s crisis center.

Michael James Riddering was one of 28 people killed after terrorists opened fire Friday night at a cafe in the capital, Ouagadougou.

The al Qaeda-linked militants then raided a luxury hotel across the street, shooting some and taking others hostage in an overnight siege that lasted hours.

Sheltering Wings, a missionary group that supports Riddering’s orphanage, provided a detailed account of his ordeal. It said the Florida resident and his wife, Amy Riddering, worked at the orphanage in Yako, 115 kilometers (70 miles) from the capital.
