Media Pounces on Edited Video of Ilhan Omar’s Comments Against White Men — but the Unedited Version Is Worse

A viral video of comments from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is being criticized by the left and the media because it was unfairly edited, but the unedited version is arguably worse.

The edited video appears to show Omar advocating for increased surveillance on white males in the United States rather than Muslims because they are a greater threat.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) was among those who shared the video, adding, “I am sure the media will now hound every Democrat to denounce this statement as racist. Right?”

Many criticized Rubio for posting an edited video that misrepresented her full remarks. In the unedited version, she adds the hypothetical “if fear were the driving force” to her statement.

“And so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe, Americans safe inside of this country, we should be profiling, monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men,” she says in the unedited version.

Border Patrol Official Makes Stunning Claim About U.S. Citizen Detained by CBP

Brian Hastings, Chief of Law Enforcement at the U.S. Border Patrol, made a stunning claim on Thursday about the U.S. citizen who was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for three weeks, saying that the individual never claimed to be an American.

Hastings remark came in response to a question from Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) about the detained U.S. citizen, Francisco Erwin Galicia, during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on some of the Trump administration’s policies on the border.

“I can give you some preliminary: the individual came through the Falfurrias checkpoint, he came through with the other illegal aliens, the individual claimed to be a Mexican national who was born in Reynosa, Mexico,” Hastings said. “Throughout the process, and while he was with Border Patrol, he claimed to be a citizen of Mexico with no immigration documents to be in or remain in the U.S.”

“Upon further investigation, we also found he had a border crossing card and that border crossing card he had used 53 times to cross the border into the U.S. which gives us further indication that he was not a U.S. citizen,” Hastings continued. “At no time in Border Patrol custody did he say that he was a U.S. citizen.”

WATCH: Baltimore Resident Confirms Trump’s ‘Racist’ Claims About the City

By Townhall. President Donald Trump chided Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) on Saturday for shouting down acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan over conditions in detention camps during a hearing last week.

While all of Cummings’ so-called “accomplishments” look great to the Democratic Party, one of his residents, Michelle, completely agrees with what President Trump said.

“What he [President Trump] said was definitely true,” Michelle said in a video. “He [Cummings] hasn’t done anything for us for the last, I think he’s been in office over 20 years?”

Trump is right about Baltimore — and the Democrats know it

By New York Post. . .Predictably, the Left—including most of cable news—rushed to condemn Trump as a racist. Speaker Nancy Pelosi — whose father was once mayor of Baltimore — called Cummings “a beloved leader in Baltimore, and deeply valued colleague. We all reject racist attacks against him and support his steadfast leadership.” Senator Elizabeth Warren tweeted, “Donald Trump’s tweets are ugly and racist.” Beto O’Rourke called him “the most openly racist president we’ve had in modern history.” Senator Bernie Sanders chimed in, too.

The operative rule in politics these days seems to be that any criticism of a non-white politician from anywhere to their right is, by definition, a racist attack. Nothing Trump said pertained in any way to Elijah Cummings’s skin color or ethnicity, only to his failure as a legislator and political leader to do anything to improve his district. The real question is: Is he right? . . .

By any measure of systemic urban collapse, Baltimore is, as Trump said “very dangerous & filthy.” Among the largest 30 American cities, Baltimore has the highest crime rate, and is a close second to Detroit for the highest rate of violent crime. But for murders, Baltimore is second to no other city, with more than 50 homicides per 100,000 people. That puts Charm City in the ranks of Jamaica, Venezuela, and El Salvador in terms of lethality. . .

Some have suggested that it’s unfair for the president to blame Elijah Cummings for his district’s woes, since congressmen don’t control local issues like trash pickup or law enforcement. But Cummings is a Democratic powerbroker in Baltimore, which has been run by a succession of failed mayors—one of whom stole gift cards meant for poor children, and another who “sold” thousands of copies of her unreadable book to the public hospital system. Local state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby is credited with bungling the investigation into the death of Freddie Gray. Cummings is an integral part of a corrupt, dysfunctional political machine that is directly responsible for Baltimore’s misery. Israel Conducts Successful Missile Test Over Alaska

The United States and Israel successfully carried out “a high altitude hit-to-kill engagement” with a co-developed anti-ballistic missile interceptor system in Alaska, officials announced Sunday.

The Arrow-3 Interceptor missile achieved a “major milestone” in its development during a successful flight test where the system effectively intercepted a missile target outside the atmosphere, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) said in a statement.

“This unique success in Alaska provides confidence in future Israeli capabilities to defeat the developing threats in the region,” MDA Director Vice Adm. Jon Hill said in the statement. “We are committed to assisting the Government of Israel in upgrading its national missile defense capability to defend the State of Israel from emerging threats.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a Cabinet meeting Sunday that the Arrow 3 gives his country the “ability to act against ballistic missiles fired against us from Iran and from any other location.”

Arrow 3, along with the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and the Arrow 2 systems, is part of the multi-layered shield Israel is developing to defend against rockets fired from Gaza and Lebanon, as well as Iran’s long-range missiles. State Senator Says U.S. Will Soon Look Like South American Countries

Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen, a Republican from the small town of Snowflake, expressed concern at a recent GOP event that the United States is “going to look like South American countries very quickly,” claiming that new immigrants will not be able to “assimilate.”

The Phoenix New Times obtained audio of Allen’s comments on Thursday — they were published on Friday. In the speech, the senator expressed her fears that the United States does not have the resource capacity for new immigrants. She also argued that immigrants are arriving at a rate that does not allow them to learn “the principles of our country.”

According to the New Times, Allen’s comments were part of a 25-minute speech delivered at the Arizona Republican Party headquarters in Phoenix during an event called “Mormon Political Pioneers: Then & Now” on July 15. . .

In a statement released Friday afternoon, Allen said her remarks had been taken out of context and been made into “something they are not.” Her statement continues to say immigrants are welcome if they come legally and “assimilate to our country and its laws.” It says she referenced South America because she was concerned that some South American countries were “socialist.” Allen’s statement did not address the birth rate comment. . .

Allen also spent some of her speech criticizing feminism, reiterating her opposition to an Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). They Were Warned: Mueller Staff Cautioned Democrats Not to Get Their Hopes Up

Staff for former special counsel Robert Mueller issued a warning to Democrats eager to have him testify about his investigation into Russian election interference.

Days after Mueller delivered shaky testimony to two congressional panels, a report said Mueller’s team denied rumors that the 74-year-old’s cognitive acuity was wavering and that prompted Democrats to compel him to appear publicly.

However, before and after a reluctant Mueller was subpoenaed, Mueller’s staff told the Democrats, some of whom have cited Mueller’s report as a blueprint for impeachment, that their boss would not stray from what was already disclosed in his unredacted 448-page report. . .

But in the run-up to Wednesday’s hearings, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler said Democrats hoped to get Mueller to divulge information that does not appear in his report. “Hopefully we go a little further,” the New York Democrat said on MSNBC last week after acknowledging their main strategy will focus on getting Mueller to recite the findings of his report in front of a live audience.

That did not come to pass. Mueller may have provided some sound bites for Democrats to capitalize on, including denying that his report “totally” exonerates President Trump, but as he stressed in his late-May public statement after the conclusion of his investigation, the former special counsel largely stuck to the script of his report. Investigation Launched: ‘We Will Find out Exactly What Comey Was up to’

. . .The legal team, through the Freedom of Information Act, is seeking every email, memorandum, brief and electronic message regarding a “spy” Comey dispatched to the White House and apparently used against the president.

“We will find out exactly what Comey was up to and bring it to light. And we’re prepared to go right back to court against the FBI Deep State in order to expose the truth, defend the Constitution and our rule of law, and once again defeat the Deep State. We will keep you updated as this case progresses,” ACLJ said Friday. . .

Comey is one of the more prominent names in Barack Obama’s administration who have been linked to an apparent weaponization of government power to defeat Trump in the 2016 election and undermine him after his improbable victory. . .

The legal team said Comey, before he was fired, “reportedly conducted his own ‘covert operation’ against President Trump by inserting FBI agents – spies – inside the White House. Their job was to secretly collect information and report back to Comey’s office.”

“Since his firing by President Trump, Comey has tried to present himself to the American people as a victim worthy of sympathy. Especially as he peddled his book. Watch: Dramatic Footage as CNN Crew Is Caught Between Police and Protesters in Violent Clash

A CNN crew [was] covering the ongoing Hong Kong protests, which have more than once proved violent over the months. On Friday, thousands took over an airport, clad in black, and tensions escalated quickly.

CNN correspondent Anna Coren was on scene at the airport, clad in protective gear, when fears of violence turned to the reality of it, and she and her crew were right in the middle. . .

“Let me tell you what is happening. We have just been charged by riot police, up the escalator, into the train station, this is absolute mayhem,” she said. “They have just come at the protesters, wielding batons, spraying pepper spray. It is pandemonium inside here.”

“I have no idea how they are planning to disperse these crowds. It is absolute chaos,” she said. “Absolutely chaotic scene. I have never witnessed anything quite like this, where there was a peaceful, peaceful demonstration inside. These protesters, they are not trashing anything, all they were doing is standing here. They were being pushed on. Then all of sudden these riot police charged.”

Dramatic footage, dramatic description, and a months-long environment of dozens more such scenes as the pro-democracy protests continue to result in confrontations with authorities in Hong Kong.

Snatched! Government ‘Illegally’ Takes Child From Parents (VIDEO)

The Texas Home School Coalition Association has launched a petition drive and a fundraiser to help return 4-year-old Drake Pardo to his parents. . .

The family was given no explanation when the boy was seized, and CPS agents refused to answer their questions. The agents simply showed up at the family’s home, accompanied by armed officers, and demanded the child.

THSC attorney Chris Branson, representing the family, said Children’s Medical Center in Dallas reported the family to CPS after the family filed a complaint against the hospital claiming Drake received poor treatment. . . .

“Children’s informed the family that they would review the matter and resolve it within 45 days. On day 46, with the family still having heard nothing from the Children’s Medical Center, CPS showed up at the family’s door with an affidavit signed by one of the hospital’s doctors and removed Drake,” the homeschool group said.

Nearly Half of Americans Left Unfazed by Mueller’s Testimony

The opinions of many Americans on whether or not President Trump should be impeached remain unchanged after former special counsel Robert Mueller’s congressional testimony.

An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Sunday shows that 47% of Americans were not at all moved on the impeachment question after Mueller’s testimony. The people who were moved one way or the other were closely split at 27% more likely to support impeachment and 26% less likely. . .

Mueller testified in front of the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees Wednesday. Democrats pushed Mueller to clarify his report and his position on whether or not Trump should be charged with obstruction of justice. Republicans focused largely on why the investigation was launched and how the Russian collusion conspiracy gained so much traction.

Mueller was halting and slow throughout his testimony, often seeming unfamiliar with facts and passages in his report. He evaded answering roughly 200 questions during the nearly seven-hour affair by referring the questioner back to the report or asserting that the question was outside of his purview.
