Poll That Predicted Trump Win in 2016: Warren Catching up to Biden, but That Could Be Bad News for Democrats

A new poll by Investor’s Business Daily found that Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has pulled to within striking distance of front-runner Joe Biden, movement that follows the former vice president’s repeated gaffs and comes amid glowing coverage of Warren by major media outlets. While Warren’s momentum is good news for the progressive Massachusetts senator, the new survey from IBD/TIPP — which has been one of the most accurate pollsters in the last four elections, and the only major poll to give Trump the win in 2016 — might not be good news for Democrats.

When the final polls came in for the 2016 election, only one of the eleven major national polls that played into RealClearPolitics’ average gave Trump the advantage: IBD/TIPP showed Trump winning by 2%. While Trump, in fact, lost the popular vote, a Washington Post analysis found IBD to be the second-most accurate of the pollsters in 2016 (McClatchy/Marist got its prediction the closest). IBD/TIPP was also the most accurate in the previous three elections. That is to say, Investor’s Business Daily’s poll results are worth taking a close look at.

IBD’s newest survey of the Democratic primary candidates and their potential head-to-head matchups against Trump provides some notable results. First, Warren is increasingly poised to dethrone Biden.

The poll found that Warren has surged by 7% since August, now winning the support of 24% of registered Democrats and independents who lean Democratic (up from 17%). . .

The other Democratic candidates find themselves far behind both Biden and Warren. The next closest presidential would-be is democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who pulled in just 12% (where he’s been since August), followed by Sen. Kamala Harris, who plummeted from 11% in August to just 6% in the new survey. In fifth is South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 5%, while Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) has just 4% support. The rest of the candidates, including Beto O’Rourke, failed to manage more than 1%. Mayor Pete Uses the Bible to Redefine When Life Begins and Now His Family Wants Him to Repent

South Bend, Indiana Mayor turned 2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg used the Bible to explain why he believes life doesn’t begin until a baby takes his or her first breath.

“Right now they hold everyone in line to this kind of piece of doctrine about abortion, which is obviously a tough issue for a lot of people to think through. Then again, you know, there’s a lot of parts of the Bible which talk about how life begins with breath,” Buttiegeg explained during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “And even so, that’s something that we can interpret differently.” . . .

Now, Buttigieg’s brother-in-law, Pastor Rhyan Glezman, wants the presidential candidate to repent.

“I feel a sense of responsibility and stewardship of my faith to stand up and say something, to say, ‘No, that’s not true,'” Glezman told the Washington Examiner. “God places a very high value on all human life. Everyone is created fearfully and wonderfully in the image of God with intrinsic value. That doesn’t start at the first breath, it starts when we enter our mother’s womb.” . . .

“If we’re going to say we’re for all people and we love all people, but we don’t value human life in the womb, that’s being a hypocrite. You’re hypocritical if you don’t stand up for all life. So that’s why I’m speaking out,” Glezman explained. “This isn’t a little issue, especially when we’re talking about life. This is not just a political conversation. We’re talking about human life. These are human beings.” (Read more from “Mayor Pete Uses the Bible to Redefine When Life Begins and Now His Family Wants Him to Repent” HERE)

DNC Compiled Massive Pile Of Opposition Research On Trump Ahead Of 2020 Election

By Townhall. The Democratic National Committee has compiled a massive amount of opposition research into President Donald Trump, Axios reported. The Democrats reportedly dug through 7,000 lawsuits from all 50 states to pinpoint Trump’s vulnerabilities.

According to Axios, the DNC also put together a comprehensive document of each time Trump said Mexico would pay to build a wall along the United States-Mexico border during the 2016 presidential campaign. The DNC is expected to drop relevant information with local reporters, groups and Democrats in key battleground states, an anonymous source familiar with the document said.

One of their other key tactics will be focusing on anecdotal stories in states like Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Texas. They want to find residents who feel Trump’s policies have negatively impacted them. Specifically, Democrats plan to focus on farmers and truckers and how tariffs have hurt them. Trump Family ‘Dynasty’ Will ‘Last for Decades,’ 2020 Campaign Chief Says

By Fox News. President Trump and his family represent a political movement with the potential of transforming the Republican Party, according to Brad Parscale, manager of the president’s 2020 reelection campaign.

“I just think they’re a dynasty,” Parscale told reporters after delivering a speech Saturday at the fall convention of the California Republican Party.

“I think they’re all amazing people … with amazing capabilities,” he said, according to the Associated Press. “I think you see that from Don Jr. I think you see that from Ivanka. You see it from Jared. You see it from all.”

Parscale was speaking at the end of a week that saw Ivanka Trump embark on a trip to Argentina, Colombia and Paraguay to promote the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative; saw Republican political strategist Rick Wilson predict in a Daily Beast column that Donald Trump Jr. will seek and likely win the 2024 GOP presidential nomination; and saw Jared Kushner appoint a lieutenant in his role of crafting the president’s Middle East policy, according to Politico. BOMBSHELL: Mattis Says Obama Refused to Respond to Iran’s ‘Act of War’ Because of Nuclear Deal

In a new book, former Defense Secretary James Mattis takes the Obama administration to task for its weak response to the growing threat of the Iranian regime. One bombshell included in the book is the Obama administration’s tepid response to what Mattis referred to as an “act of war” by Iran – the planned bombing of a café in Washington, D.C.

The Washington Examiner reported on Mattis’ book, where he describes how during his time as the leader of U.S. Central Command (where he served between 2010 and 2013) he repeatedly warned the Obama administration about Iran and Sunni Islamist terrorists, though he felt Iran posed the “more deadly of the two threats.”

Mattis claims in his book, Call Sign Chaos: Learning To Lead, that Obama fired him because of these warnings, and that the administration didn’t even tell him about the Iranian plot to bomb the café. Mattis was informed of the plot by a duty officer in Tampa, Florida, who told him then-Attorney General Eric Holder and then-FBI Director Robert Mueller (yes, that Robert Mueller) held a press conference announcing the arrest of two Iranians who had planned the attack on Café Milano. The Examiner describes the café as “a high-end restaurant in Washington that was a favorite of the rich and famous, including Saudi Arabia’s ambassador, Adel al-Jubeir.”

“Attorney General Eric Holder said the bombing plot was ‘directed and approved by elements of the Iranian government and, specifically, senior members of the Qods Force.’ The Qods were the Special Operations Force of the Revolutionary Guards, reporting to the top of the Iranian government,” Mattis writes in his book. . .

“In my military judgment, America had undertaken a poorly calculated, long-shot gamble. At the same time, the administration was lecturing our Arab friends that they had to accommodate Iran as if it were a moderate neighbor in the region and not an enemy committed to their destruction,” Mattis writes. “As long as its leaders consider Iran less a nation-state than a revolutionary cause, Iran will remain a terrorist threat potentially more dangerous than Al Qaeda or ISIS.” (Read more from “Bombshell: Mattis Says Obama Refused to Respond to Iran’s ‘Act of War’ Because of Nuclear Deal” HERE)

Another Known Wolf: Repeat Gun Felon Let out of Prison Kills Corrections Officer

Mathew Lee Wilks had the prototypical rap sheet of a murderer who was let off easy by a broken justice system. He has driving, theft, drug, firearms, and battery charges and convictions dating back to 2001, but he never served much time in prison. Last Friday, he allegedly murdered a female corrections officer in front of her son while she was teaching her son how to drive.

On Wednesday, Wilks was charged with first-degree murder of Tracey Smith, a sergeant for the Milwaukee Department of Corrections, during what is being described as a road rage incident. According to the criminal complaint based on Smith’s son’s account, the 17-year-old student driver was making a left turn with his mother in the car when a gold van driven by Wilks came from behind, cut them off, and collided with them mid-turn. He then alleges that when his mother got out of the car, Wilks yelled, “Bitch, I’ll kill you,” and then shot her fatally in the chest.

This wasn’t just an evil inclination in the passion of one heated moment. This man was a ticking time bomb.

Police later found a large quantity of cocaine and firearms in his home. And he had a history of just that – guns and firearms convictions. In February 2008, he was convicted on firearms and drug charges and was sentenced to 16 months in state prison, according to Wisconsin court records. In 2013, he was convicted on cocaine charges. He served just 30 days in prison despite being a repeat offender with firearms charges.

Given his past criminal history, it is inexcusable that he got off this easy for these more recent charges. According to arrest records, he was charged with battery in 2006 and numerous times for driving on a revoked license, yet he was never convicted. In 2001, he was found guilty for stealing a vehicle and was also arrested on multiple drug charges. He barely served more than a few days in jail, but had his license revoked. And in 2003, he was found guilty of criminal trespassing. As recently as January 14 of this year, he had his driver’s license suspended.

There are thousands upon thousands of people like Matthew Wilks in the system who never serve time for battery, drugs, and firearms – even for repeat offenses. If you want to know who will murder people with a gun (or other weapons), it is almost always from the pool of people with long rap sheets. These are the people who should be targeted by prosecutors, yet they are now getting off easy in the era of “criminal justice reform.” This is why Reagan’s effort to go after drug and gun felons with federal sentencing helped reduce the murder rate by 60 percent. One need not be a hawk against drug and gun crimes to appreciate that these are the people who are also committing more serious crimes.

Yet both parties keep repeating this false mantra that somehow we lock up first-time, low-level offenders for too long. In fact, we barely lock up the repeat offenders, and the trend is getting worse every year. This is why they are not deterred from repeat offenses. They know there are many ways to get off with a slap on the wrist. Victims like Tracey Smith never have a voice to be heard by the political elites and are made to suffer from the irresponsible jailbreak agenda.

From debating the issue of criminal justice reform, aka weak-on-crime initiatives, I’ve found that race seems to be the biggest motivator for many Republicans to join forces with the Left on jailbreak legislation. Even President Trump has begun to buy into this nonsense. But the old Trump had the correct view on this.

Indeed, in 2017, 1,272 more black people were killed (7,851) by homicide than white people (6,579), even though black people compose just 13 percent of the general population. Tracey Smith is the latest black victim of a growing trend in politics and law to keep violent offenders on the streets at any cost.

Rather than targeting the guns of law-abiding citizens while refusing to lock up criminals, it’s time to remember Reagan’s admonishment in 1984: “For too many years, the scales of criminal justice were tilted toward protecting rights of criminals. Those in charge forgot or just plain didn’t care about protecting your rights—the rights of law-abiding citizens.” (For more from the author of “Another Known Wolf: Repeat Gun Felon Let out of Prison Kills Corrections Officer” please click HERE)

Feds Say They’ve Filed Their First Bump Stock Ban Charges in Texas

Federal authorities in Texas say they’ve made their first arrest related to the Trump administration’s 2018 “bump stock” ban.

According to a Thursday statement from the United States attorney for the Southern District of Texas, a 43-year-old Houston man has been indicted on four counts of firearms violation, including possession of a machine gun, which is what “bump stocks” are now considered under federal law.

The indictment alleges that Ajay Dhingra possessed a machine gun (the bump stock), made “two materially false statements in the acquisition of two firearms,” and also unlawfully possessed a firearm despite being adjudicated “as a mental defective” under federal law.

The suspect is expected to appear before a U.S. district judge next week. He currently faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a possible $250,000 fine, according to prosecutors.

According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), this is believed to be the first federal charges filed related to the ban, which was announced in late 2018 and took effect in March of this year.

The ban was largely in response to the 2017 shooting in Las Vegas, in which the shooter — whose motive remains a mystery to this day — used a slide fire or “bump stock” device.

In reality, slide fire devices do not actually turn semi-automatic firearms into automatics — which fire more than one round per trigger pull — but instead allow the gun to use recoil force to slide back and forth between the shooter’s shoulder and trigger finger, thereby increasing the rate of fire, typically at the cost of accuracy.

The Trump administration’s ban is a regulation that redefined “‘bump fire’ stocks, slide-fire devices, and devices with certain similar characteristics” as illegal machine guns under previous gun laws and told owners of the devices to either destroy or turn in their legally obtained hardware without even offering to compensate them.

“It’s sort of an American principle that the government doesn’t take your stuff without compensating you,” Second Amendment Caucus chair Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., told me in December.

“I’m no fan of bump stocks; I think they waste ammunition and cause you to shoot inaccurately,” Massie explained. However, “the precedent that this sets — allowing the executive branch to ban something that was legally acquired and then confiscate it and destroy it without compensation — is a horrible one.” (For more from the author of “Feds Say They’ve Filed Their First Bump Stock Ban Charges in Texas” please click HERE)

Epstein Accuser’s Lawyers Want Face-To-Face Interview with Prince Andrew; How an Elite University Research Center Concealed Its Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein

By Washington Examiner. The woman who says she was forced to have underage sex with Prince Andrew after being recruited by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein wants her attorneys to interview the royal.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre also pushed back on Andrew’s claim the photo of the two of them and Epstein’s sometime girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was “fake” in a letter sent by her attorneys to the Duke of York.

Andrew denied Giuffre’s accusations and tried distancing himself from Epstein, his longtime friend, in the wake of the accused child sex trafficker’s apparent suicide at age 66 in his Manhattan, New York, prison cell in August.

The 59-year-old royal denied any knowledge of the jet-setting financier’s crimes, and alleged sources close to the prince told British newspapers that Giuffre’s story couldn’t be true and that a smiling picture of Andrew with his arm wrapped around Giuffre with British socialite Maxwell, 57, in the background was faked. How an Elite University Research Center Concealed Its Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein

By The New Yorker. The M.I.T. Media Lab, which has been embroiled in a scandal over accepting donations from the financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, had a deeper fund-raising relationship with Epstein than it has previously acknowledged, and it attempted to conceal the extent of its contacts with him. Dozens of pages of e-mails and other documents obtained by The New Yorker reveal that, although Epstein was listed as “disqualified” in M.I.T.’s official donor database, the Media Lab continued to accept gifts from him, consulted him about the use of the funds, and, by marking his contributions as anonymous, avoided disclosing their full extent, both publicly and within the university. Perhaps most notably, Epstein appeared to serve as an intermediary between the lab and other wealthy donors, soliciting millions of dollars in donations from individuals and organizations, including the technologist and philanthropist Bill Gates and the investor Leon Black. According to the records obtained by The New Yorker and accounts from current and former faculty and staff of the media lab, Epstein was credited with securing at least $7.5 million in donations for the lab, including two million dollars from Gates and $5.5 million from Black, gifts the e-mails describe as “directed” by Epstein or made at his behest. The effort to conceal the lab’s contact with Epstein was so widely known that some staff in the office of the lab’s director, Joi Ito, referred to Epstein as Voldemort or “he who must not be named.”

The financial entanglement revealed in the documents goes well beyond what has been described in public statements by M.I.T. and by Ito. The University has said that it received eight hundred thousand dollars from Epstein’s foundations, in the course of twenty years, and has apologized for accepting that amount. In a statement last month, M.I.T.’s president, L. Rafael Reif, wrote, “with hindsight, we recognize with shame and distress that we allowed MIT to contribute to the elevation of his reputation, which in turn served to distract from his horrifying acts. No apology can undo that.” Reif pledged to donate the funds to a charity to help victims of sexual abuse. On Wednesday, Ito disclosed that he had separately received $1.2 million from Epstein for investment funds under his control, in addition to five hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars that he acknowledged Epstein had donated to the lab. A spokesperson for M.I.T. said that the university “is looking at the facts surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s gifts to the institute.”

The documents and sources suggest that there was more to the story. They show that the lab was aware of Epstein’s history—in 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges of solicitation of prostitution and procurement of minors for prostitution—and of his disqualified status as a donor. They also show that Ito and other lab employees took numerous steps to keep Epstein’s name from being associated with the donations he made or solicited. On Ito’s calendar, which typically listed the full names of participants in meetings, Epstein was identified only by his initials. Epstein’s direct contributions to the lab were recorded as anonymous. In September, 2014, Ito wrote to Epstein soliciting a cash infusion to fund a certain researcher, asking, “Could you re-up/top-off with another $100K so we can extend his contract another year?” Epstein replied, “yes.” Forwarding the response to a member of his staff, Ito wrote, “Make sure this gets accounted for as anonymous.” Peter Cohen, the M.I.T. Media Lab’s Director of Development and Strategy at the time, reiterated, “Jeffrey money, needs to be anonymous. Thanks.” . . .

Current and former faculty and staff of the media lab described a pattern of concealing Epstein’s involvement with the institution. Signe Swenson, a former development associate and alumni coordinator at the lab, told me that she resigned in 2016 in part because of her discomfort about the lab’s work with Epstein. She said that the lab’s leadership made it explicit, even in her earliest conversations with them, that Epstein’s donations had to be kept secret. In early 2014, while Swenson was working in M.I.T.’s central fund-raising office, as a development associate, she had breakfast with Cohen, the Director of Development and Strategy. They discussed her application for a fund-raising role at the Media Lab. According to Swenson, Cohen explained to her that the lab was currently working with Epstein and that it was seeking to do more with the financier. “He said Joi has been working with Jeffrey Epstein and Epstein’s connecting us to other people,” Swenson recalled. She assumed that Cohen raised the matter “to test whether I would be confidential and sort of feel out whether I would be O.K. with the situation.” (Read more from “How an Elite University Research Center Concealed Its Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein” HERE)

Hands to Yourself: Biden Gets Scolded for Grabbing Woman’s Hands Without Her Consent (VIDEO)

Former Vice President Joe Biden is known to be a bit…handsy at times. There are the biker chick photo and the various allegations of downright odd behavior, like reportedly smelling a lieutenant governor candidate’s hair, which created some controversy at the outset of his 2020 candidacy. Yet, there was never going to be any accountability. He’s the Democrats’ best hope to beat Trump in 2020, and even his past accusers said that his actions, while creepy, shouldn’t disqualify him from running. So, that’s the Democratic Party for you. Weaponize sexual assault/misconduct allegations, but only for use against your political enemies. Yet, at a campaign stop in Iowa, Biden also got handsy with a teacher who asked him a question about collective bargaining rights. There was no groping or anything. Yes, that should be made crystal clear; the allegations against Biden aren’t nearly as serious as those facing Harvey Weinstein, but when a woman is made uncomfortable—you need to respect the space. Biden is horrendous at that.

In this incident, he grabbed a teacher’s hands and she was not having any of it. The Washington Examiner was able to get a quote from her about the incident. The woman, Roman, 41, plainly said you just need to ask first. Oh, and they were able to get videos too (via Washington Examiner):

Roman, 41, had stopped Biden, 76, as he greeted voters on Monday during the Hawkeye Area Labor Council’s Labor Day picnic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The North Liberty preschool teacher, who works with special needs children, was pressing the former vice president on his plans to help unionized members of her profession under recent changes to Iowa’s collective bargaining laws when he reached for her hands.

“I think that he means well but, you know, he grabbed my hands right away and that was really uncomfortable,” she told the Washington Examiner. “He was very close and, in my mind, I’m like, this is part of our problem: Not recognizing that you need to ask first, or can I shake your hand? Not just grab your hands and hang onto them. That bothers me.”

Federal Government Orders Apple, Google to Turn over Personal Data of Everyone Who Downloaded a Gun Scope App

The federal government has asked Apple and Google to turn over the personal data of anyone who downloaded a free app used to calibrate gun scopes. . .

The app, Obsidian 4, was developed by American Technologies Network Corp (ATN). According to its Apple App Store description, it allows users to connect scopes sold by ATN to the app on their smartphone or tablet. With this, users can “watch a live video” of a hunt, as well as “adjust/change the various settings on your ATN Smart scope and review the images and videos stored on your scope[‘]s microSD card.”

This app has been downloaded “10,000+” times on Google Play. While Apple doesn’t list the number of downloads for individual apps in its App Store, their version has 74 reviews compared with Google Play’s 137 at the time of this article’s publication, suggesting that the Apple version may have had about half the number of downloads. . .

According to Forbes, the Department of Justice filed a court order on September 5 ordering both Google and Apple to give up names, phone numbers, and IP addresses of everyone who downloaded the app since Aug. 1, 2017. The document is now sealed, but Forbes managed to view it while it was briefly publicly available. Left-Wingers Excited to Sign Petition Protecting Eagle Eggs. Then They’re Asked to Sign One Protecting Unborn Babies. Uh Oh.

PragerU’s Will Witt recently headed into Echo Park in Los Angeles to ask folks to sign a petition protecting eagle eggs — i.e., unborn eagles.

As you might expect, the folks he encountered were quite excited to step up and offer their names in support of saving birds growing in fragile shells.

“Eagles are people, too,” one woman remarked as she grabbed a pen. . .

But Witt had another petition on his clipboard right underneath: a call to protect unborn babies. . .

The same woman who declared “eagles are people, too” hit the brakes when it came to protecting humans in the womb: “I’m pro-abortion. Sorry.”
