Three National Guard Members Killed in Helicopter Crash

Three National Guard members were killed when a military helicopter crashed in upstate New York Wednesday evening, officials said.

The aircraft, a UH-60 medical evacuation helicopter, was on a routine mission when it crashed in Mendon, a rural town near Rochester, around 6:30 p.m., according to the New York National Guard.

Videos on social media show first responders at the scene blocking the road.

Witnesses told WROC-TV they saw the chopper flying low near the ground.

The chopper flew out of the Army Aviation Support Facility at Rochester International Airport. It was assigned to the C Company of the 1st Battalion, 171st General Support Aviation Battalion, the National Guard said. (Read more from “Three National Guard Members Killed in Helicopter Crash” HERE)

Biden Plans to Immediately Reinstate Taxpayer Funding for Abortions Here and Abroad

As President Joe Biden rushes to undo the Trump administration’s policies, pro-abortion changes are taking priority.

One of the first directives Biden and his team plans to examine and reverse is the Mexico City policy, originally implemented by Ronald Reagan and reinstated by President Donald Trump. The current policy bans U.S. foreign aid from being directed to organizations that perform abortions, but under the Democrats’ executive control and with the support of Planned Parenthood, the policy will be undone.

Planned Parenthood President and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson told NBC News that the new access to executive power is “tremendously exciting” and hailed the Biden administration as “champions … who understand what needs to happen in the first 100 days.”

In a similar move, Biden also promised to reinstate federal funding to the United Nations Population Fund, which offers resources to women and young girls around the world to obtain abortions, after Trump cut the United States’ flow of resources to the program in 2017.

The encouragement from the largest baby-killing organization in the nation aligns well with the Biden team’s abortion agenda, which also includes plans to “restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood” by removing Trump’s blocks on facilities in the Title X program from referring individuals to providers who perform abortions or from performing abortions themselves. Trump Wasn’t at the Inauguration to Hand Biden the Nuclear ‘Football.’ The Transfer Happened Differently for the Very First Time.

Traditionally the nuclear “football” — the heavy briefcase that’s always with the president, who can use it to control America’s nuclear weapons — is handed off by the outgoing commander in chief to the incoming president at the inauguration, NBC News reported. . .

A military aide who carries the “football” remains physically close to the president, the network said, and is ready at a moment’s notice to commence the detailed process of putting the football to use. . .

A U.S. official said that a military aide will accompany Trump to Florida with one of the footballs and that Trump will retain sole authority to launch a nuclear strike until 11:59:59 a.m. Wednesday. Trump’s being physically out of Washington will not affect his launch authority or access to the football until noon. (There are multiple footballs that allow a president to launch a military strike while traveling.)

Another military aide with a second nuclear football will hand over the authority to Biden once he is sworn in, the official said, and the military aide with Trump will bring the football back to Washington.

China Slaps Trump Administration Officials With Sanctions

China showed its disdain for the Trump administration — which adopted a tough stance against the communist country over the last four years — by imposing sanctions on more than two dozen former Trump officials just minutes after they left office Wednesday.

Beijing issued a statement shortly after President Joe Biden had been sworn into office announcing sanctions against several former officials such as Trump’s secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, his trade adviser, Peter Navarro, and his national security adviser, Robert O’Brien.

Others hit with sanctions were Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, Kelly Craft, his top diplomat for Asia, David Stilwell, his Health and Human Services secretary, Alex Azar, former national security adviser, John Bolton, and former political strategist, Steve Bannon.

While the sanctions are largely symbolic, the Associated Press noted that they “underscore Beijing’s antipathy toward a U.S. administration it regarded as hostile.”

In the statement, the Chinese foreign ministry said: “Over the past few years, some anti-China politicians in the United States, out of their selfish political interests and prejudice and hatred against China and showing no regard for the interests of the Chinese and American people, have planned, promoted and executed a series of crazy moves which have gravely interfered in China’s internal affairs, undermined China’s interests, offended the Chinese people, and seriously disrupted China-U.S. relations.” (Read more from “China Slaps Trump Administration Officials With Sanctions” HERE)

Nancy Pelosi: Donald Trump Could Be ‘Accessory to Murder’ After Capitol Riots

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said former President Donald Trump might be an “accessory to murder” in conjunction with the riots at the U.S. Capitol this month.

In an MSNBC interview that aired Tuesday night, the House speaker accused Trump of inciting the deadly riot at the Capitol on January 6, which left at least five people dead including a U.S. Capitol Police officer.

“President’s words are important, they weigh a ton,” Pelosi said of Trump. “And if you’re Donald Trump talking to these people, they believe it, and they used his words to come here.” . . .

“When we talk about, ‘Did any of our colleagues collaborate?’ Well, that remains to be seen,” Pelosi said.

“We have to get the evidence of that. And if they did, they would be accessory to the crime. And the crime, in some cases, was murder. And this president is an accessory to that crime because he instigated that insurrection that caused those deaths and this destruction,” she added. Dumped: Sidney Powell Releases Her ‘Kraken’ Suit

Sidney Powell, the high-profile attorney who vowed to “release the Kraken” in a lawsuit alleging widespread fraud in Georgia resulting in a presidential victory for Joe Biden, has voluntarily dropped her legal action less than 24 hours before Biden’s inauguration.

In a motion filed at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Powell and other attorneys agreed with defendants including Gov. Brian Kemp and Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger to have the case dismissed.

“This civil action brings to light a massive election fraud,” her original lawsuit had indicated.

“I feel very optimistic the truth will get out,” Powell had said in November concerning her actions trying to prove fraud helped steal the election away from President Trump. “Of course, everybody on the face of the earth now is trying to suppress it, including people in our own government.

Trump Pardons Ex-Strategist Steve Bannon

President Donald Trump pardoned former chief strategist Steve Bannon in the final hours of his White House term as part of a flurry of clemency action that benefited more than 140 people, including rap performers, ex-members of Congress and other allies of him and his family.

The last-minute clemency, announced after midnight on Wednesday, follows separate waves of pardons over the past month for Trump associates convicted in the FBI’s Russia investigation as well as for the father of his son-in-law.

President Trump has talked in recent days with associates about forming a new political party, according to people familiar with the matter, an effort to exert continued influence after he leaves the White House.

Mr. Trump discussed the matter with several aides and other people close to him last week, the people said. The president said he would want to call the new party the “Patriot Party,” the people said. . .

It’s unclear how serious Mr. Trump is about starting a new party, which would require a significant investment of time and resources. The president has a large base of supporters, some of whom were not deeply involved in Republican politics prior to Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign. Joe Biden Selects Transgender Health Official for HHS; He Forced Nursing Homes to Accept COVID Patients, Even His Own Mom

By Breitbart. President-elect Joe Biden announced Tuesday he had chosen Dr. Rachel Levine to serve as the assistant secretary of health for the Department of Health and Human Services.

Levine, born Richard Levine, is an openly transgender individual and would mark the first transgender official confirmed by the United States Senate, if approved.

Levine is currently the Secretary of Health for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in charge of the local response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“She is a historic and deeply qualified choice to help lead our administration’s health efforts,” Biden said in a statement, praising Levine’s “steady leadership and essential expertise.”

Biden Health Pick Forced Nursing Homes to Accept COVID Patients

By Washington Free Beacon. Biden health nominee Rachel Levine directed Pennsylvania nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients—even as [he] pulled [his] own mother out of a longterm-care facility over pandemic concerns.

President-elect Joe Biden named Levine assistant secretary for health in a Tuesday announcement, saying [his] “steady leadership” was needed “to get people through this pandemic.” But as Pennsylvania’s health secretary, Levine faced considerable scrutiny.

Last March, [he] issued a directive requiring nursing homes to take in COVID-positive patients. Trade groups warned the decision could prove costly. The American Health Care Association said it would put “frail and older adults who reside in nursing homes at risk” and “result in more people going to the hospital and more deaths.”

Nearly two months after instituting the policy, Levine confirmed that [he] had moved [his] 95-year-old mother out of a longterm-care facility and into a hotel. At the time, more than two-thirds of Pennsylvania’s coronavirus deaths had occurred in such facilities. Multiple Republicans responded with calls for Levine’s resignation. State lawmaker Russ Diamond accused Levine of “withholding information” by failing to make Pennsylvania residents “immediately aware of her actions” and the “underlying reasons” [he] took them. . .

Donald Trump’s Facebook Gets Almost 200,000 Likes Despite Being Blocked

Donald Trump’s Facebook page attracted almost 200,000 likes over the past two weeks despite being “indefinitely” blocked from posting.

The president—who will exit the White House on Wednesday following the inauguration of Joe Biden—was effectively exiled from mainstream social media platforms this month after a mob of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6.

Unlike Twitter, which removed Trump’s account from view amid a suspension, Facebook kept his profiles visible but ruled they would no longer be able to post status updates. Both platforms said allowing Trump to post risked inciting further violence.

While the president’s frequent outbursts on social media have been silenced, the moves have not stopped his Facebook profile from gaining new likes in the days since, according to statistics compiled by U.S. analytics company Social Blade.
