Congressman Has COVID Despite Receiving 2 Vaccines

The office for Rep. Stephen Lynch announced on Friday that the Massachusetts Democrat had tested positive coronavirus. Most interestingly, Lynch’s positive test result came after he received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Spokeswoman Molly Rose Tarpey explained in a statement that Lynch tested positive after coming into contact with a staff member who had testing positive for the virus earlier last week.

“This afternoon U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch received a positive test result for COVID-19 Friday after a staff member in the Congressman’s Boston office had tested positive earlier in the week,” Tarpey said, Boston.com reported.

Tarpey explained that Lynch “had received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and subsequently received a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending President Biden’s Inauguration. Secretary of State Orders LGBT Flags Flown at U.S. Embassies

LGBT activists are cheering Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s announcement that he will reverse an order from President Donald Trump and put up “pride” flags at U.S. Embassies around the world.

The Biden administration is off to a hopeful start, as Secretary of State nominee, Antony Blinken, has confirmed a recommitment to LGBTQ rights.

In a memo from July 2020, former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper released a list of flags permitted to be displayed at U.S. military bases. Missing from the list was the LGBTQ pride flag, which Esper compared to the confederate flag. Prior to the ban, embassies raised the flag during pride month on the official embassy flagpole.

Spotify Wants to Eavesdrop on Your Life to Pick Next Song to Play

Music streaming service Spotify has reportedly filed a patent for new personality tracking technology that analyzes a user’s emotional state and suggests music based on it. The patent, titled “Identification of taste attributes from an audio signal,” details constantly monitoring “speech content and background noise” to provide song suggestions.

Music Business Worldwide reports that in October 2020, Spotify filed a patent for personality tracking technology that could determine a user’s emotional state in order to suggest the perfect song for them to listen to.

The filing explained that behavioral variables such as a user’s mood, their favorite genre of music, or their demographic could all “correspond to different personality traits of a user.” Spotify suggested that this could be used to promote personalized content to users based on the personality traits it detected.

Now a new U.S. Spotify patent shows that the company wants to use the technology to analyze users even further by using speech recognition to determine their “emotional state, gender, age, or accent.” These attributes can then be used to recommend content. The Gamestop Rebellion: Things to Know

Although GameStop’s meteoric price climb—from $35.50 last Friday to $280 today—grabbed lots of attention this week, a group of online investors have been saying the company was undervalued for over a year. Keith Gill, better known through his online handles Roaring Kitty on YouTube and DeepF*&^%Value on Reddit’s WallStreetBets group, started buying up shares in 2019. . .

An investor who is short a stock makes money when the share price falls. But when the price climbs much higher, the investor has to cover the short by buying the share at a higher price. This buying activity can force the price up further, forcing even more buying, creating a spiraling price effect known as a short squeeze.

That’s what happened to several hedge funds this week as companies they had bet against—including AMC, headphone maker Koss, and GameStop—began to rise. They were “squeezed” out of their short position. In fact, many of the WallStreetBet posters predicted the short squeeze but to others it seemed far-fetched that retail investors would be able to force the hands of major Wall Street investors. . .

On Thursday, many of the major online brokers restricted some trades in the stocks that had run up so much earlier in the week. This was largely a reaction to higher margin requirements imposed by behind the scenes players, such as market-makers and the The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, the company that ultimately clears stock trades. But the operations of these companies are cloaked in mystery and the brokers did not do much to explain why trading was restricted. “The GameStop stock story is like a mirror to the world of everything that is wrong,” the cohost of the ABC talk show “The View” tweeted Friday to her hundreds of thousands of followers. . .

As previously reported, a group of Reddit users managed to drive GameStop’s stock up more than 600 percent in one week, with its share price going from $43 on Jan. 21 to $330 less than a week later. The results left hedge funds facing financial ruin.

“The View” cohost allegedly first tweeted a comparison between the Capitol riot and GameStop stock story, before she allegedly deleted it.

Barstool’s Portnoy on Robinhood: Pausing Trading ‘Flat-Out Criminal’

By Breitbart. Barstool Sports founder and President Dave Portnoy on Friday ripped trading app Robinhood as “flat-out criminal” for restricting purchases of GameStop shares on its platform.

Portnoy said on Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company” that Robinhood “basically stole money from their own clients.”

“[T]hey intentionally cratered a bunch of stocks … by not letting people buy it — only selling it,” Portnoy told host Stuart Varney. “There was only one outcome — crater the stock. They basically stole money from their own clients. They knew that was going to happen to help the hedge funds basically cover. Is there proof of that? If they do the investigation right, I’m sure there will be. But, you know, it’s one to say we’re worried and you freeze the market and you can’t buy or sell and the people liquidate what it is, fine. But to intentionally crater the stock at the expense of your customers, well, that’s criminal in my mind. Flat-out criminal.”

Murkowski Will Introduce Resolution That Could Effectively Enshrine Abortion Into U.S. Constitution

On the 48th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision that legalized abortion across the nation, Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski announced, Jan. 22, that she will introduce a resolution in the U.S. Senate to approve the Equal Rights Amendment which many believe would effectively enshrine abortion into the U.S. Constitution.

Murkowski, who has increasingly aligned herself with radical pro-abortion and LGBTQ activists boasted about her “legislation,” which has long enjoyed the support of liberal Democrats.

The Equal Rights Amendment appears rather redundant, but both supporters and opponents admit it will likely fundamentally change abortion law, while expanding LGBTQ rights and eroding religious liberties. It states simply: “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”

Many political liberals and conservatives agree, that in addition to enshrining abortion in the U.S. Constitution the Equal Rights Amendment could easily be interpreted by federal courts to expand the military draft to women, ban sex-segregated prisons, and eliminate female only restrooms. In short, it would open Pandora’s box to a massive roll back of pro-life laws, and the rapid advance of special LGBTQ rights that violate religious liberties and free speech.

Introduced in 1972, the Equal Rights Amendment (or ERA) required 38 states to ratify it before 1979. Only 35 states agreed before the deadline had passed. That, however, has not stopped liberal activists from pushing the agenda.

Last year Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the ERA, although seven states have since rescinded their ratification and so it remains a legal question as to whether the 38-state threshold (which is three-fourths of all states) has been achieved. While three states ratified the ERA after the 1979 deadline, supporters of the measure say that should not matter.

Murkowski’s joint resolution mirrors a measure passed by the Democratic lead U.S. House last year, and reintroduced this year. Both resolutions state that the ERA’s deadline is null and void.

Murkowski introduced a similar resolution last year after the House passed its version, but the Republican-controlled Senate let it die in committee. Now with Vice President Kamala Harris able to cast a tie breaking vote in the evenly divided Senate, Murkowski’s resolution to nix the deadline will have new life with a Democratic controlled Senate.

But even if the Senate votes to support of the Equal Rights Amendment resolution, it is likely that the dispute over the deadline will go before the U.S. Supreme Court. The high court would also need to determine whether the seven states that have since rescinded their ratification are still on the hook.

Murkowski’s resolution will be jointly sponsored by Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland. Cardin is a radical abortion advocate. He even opposed a law that would have required doctors to offer medical treatment to babies who survived an attempt to kill them through abortion.

“As we begin a new Congress, I can think of no better legislation to lead with than one that removes impediments to find ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment,” Murkowski stated Jan. 22. “After years of work alongside Senator Cardin, I urge my colleagues to join us in ensuring equality for all.”

Regular Cannabis Use Harmful Regardless of Age Person Starts Using, Long-Term Study Suggests

New research led by the University of Queensland has found that regular cannabis use may have harmful effects later in life, irrespective of the age the person first started using it. The findings showed that life outcomes for regular users were worse by age 35 compared to those who had not regularly smoked.

The 20 year-long prospective cohort study, led by Dr Gary Chan from UQ’s National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research, compared those who initiated cannabis use during high school to those who started after high school, comparing their life outcomes to non-users by age 35.

The findings of the study are published in the journal Drug and Alcohol Review.

“Compared to non-users, regular cannabis users were more likely to engage in high-risk alcohol consumption, smoke tobacco, use other illicit drugs and not be in a relationship at age 35,” Dr Chan said in a statement. “These outcomes were more common among those who started using cannabis regularly in adolescence.”

Study Shows More Alaskans Want Out Than Any Other State’s Residents

Population data from the latest U.S. Census counted in 2019 which is the latest available, compared to the data of 2018, shows Alaska losing a higher percentage of residents than any other state in the nation.

There was a population change of almost 6,000 people, or a loss of .8 percent. Zippia, a website resource for job-seekers, compiled the study that points out that their studies show that it has less to do with the uniquely Alaskan climate and natural challenges and more to do with the economy. As students graduate college, they tend not to be retained at a high enough rate to replace those who moved to Alaska during the oil boom 40 years ago, who are also retiring to move somewhere warmer. The Biden Administration Just Made Peter Strzok’s Wife a Top Official

President Joe Biden’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced it hired Melissa Hodgman to lead the agency as its acting director of the Division of Enforcement last week.

“Melissa’s dedication to investor protection, broad experience in the Division, and proven track record of collaboration and creative problem solving make her ideally suited to this role,” SEC Acting Chair Allison Herren Lee celebrated in a statement. “As Associate Director, Melissa has overseen a wide range of complex and programmatically important matters, and has been a leading voice in the Division on critical issues of diversity, hiring, and labor-management relations.”

Hodgman, according to the agency press release, has been with the SEC since 2008 as a longtime bureaucrat engaging in a wide range of litigation. Hodgman is also married to another, better-known longtime Washington bureaucrat, Peter Strzok, made famous for his role in the FBI’s deep-state Crossfire Hurricane operation, which featured a witch hunt investigation that sought to incriminate President Donald Trump. Twitter Troll Replaced ‘Trump’ With ‘Cuomo’ in Maxine Waters’ Infamous Call to Violence and Democrats Lost Their Minds

Blue checkmarks and Democrats took to Twitter on Thursday to condemn a call for violence against Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the people in his administration. The quote in question, however, was actually a call to violence against former President Donald Trump and his supporters from U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., that a Twitter troll account called “Cuomo Watch” satirically modified to say “Cuomo.” . . .

Soon after the tweet was shared, prominent New York politicians, blue checkmarks, and Democrats in other states took to Twitter to condemn the call to action.

“This is appalling and dangerous. Encouraging violence must never be tolerated. Shame on whoever is behind this kind of garbage,” the speaker of the New York State Assembly wrote.

Alleged 9/11 Mastermind to Receive U.S. COVID Vaccine

Here’s a real kick in the shin: chances are accused 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will get the COVID vaccine before you do.

Accused terror masterminds like KSM and other detainees at Guantanamo Bay will begin receiving the coronavirus vaccine, the Pentagon confirmed Friday, even as the United States continues to experience severe shortages of the miracle jab.

A spokesman for the Department of Defense confirmed that officials had signed an order which will see COVID-19 vaccinations “offered to all detainees and prisoners.” . . .

“It will be administered on a voluntary basis and in accordance with the Department’s priority distribution plan,” spokesman Michael Howard told The Post.

Forty detainees remain at the United States military prison in Cuba, including the man accused of plotting the worst attack on US soil, which claimed 2,977 inncocent lives on Sept. 11, 2001, and has since been linked to thousands of other deaths.
