China Explores Anuses for COVID-19 Testing

Chinese authorities have used coronavirus tests that rely on anal swabs as the country reports an uptick in COVID-19 cases.

The tests are typically reserved by health care professionals for high-risk cases, such as those in quarantine sites, according to multiple reports citing state-run channel CCTV.

However, the method was also used in a group of schoolchildren and teachers in Beijing last week, according to multiple reports. Throat and nose swabs were also used in the group.

Nose and anal swabs were also taken from a group of passengers on a flight from Changchun, China, to Beijing on Monday.

Others travelers arriving in Beijing have also been asked to use anal swabs. One woman, who was not identified by name, was asked to use an anal swab in a mandatory hotel quarantine in Beijing alongside several nose and throat tests and a blood test, Bloomberg News reported. Microsoft Patents Plans to Revive Dead Loved Ones as Chatbots

Here we are yet again, faced with another situation where super smart people are doing something, in the name of science, that is only going to hasten the human race’s increasingly inevitable demise.

Now we’ve got the wizards over at Microsoft not only applying for, but receiving a patent that will allow them to create a chatbot using personal information about dead people, including things like their images, voices, social media posts, and electronic messages.

According to the patent…

The specific person [who the chat bot represents] may correspond to a past or present entity (or a version thereof), such as a friend, a relative, an acquaintance, a celebrity, a fictional character, a historical figure, a random entity etc.

Democrats Introduce Bill That Would Add a 51st State

House and Senate Democrats introduced legislation Wednesday that would make Washington, D.C., the 51st state.

The measure was reintroduced in the House by Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, a Democrat who represents the District of Columbia, and its companion was unveiled in the Senate by Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del. As of Tuesday evening, Norton said that she had more than 200 co-sponsors in the House.

“There’s never been a time when statehood for the District was more likely,” Norton said in a statement, adding the bill was passed by the House last year for the first time and now had a “record” 202 co-sponsors. With the Senate companion bill also gaining co-sponsors, “we’re ready to achieve voting representation and full local self-government for the 712,000+ residents of the District of Columbia,” she said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., have committed to bringing the bill to the floor for a vote, Norton said. Viral Video Shows Irate Parent Screaming at Virginia School Board for Continuing to Keep Students Out of School. His Remarks Stun Them Into Silence.

An irate parent has gone viral overnight after confronting Virginia’s Loudoun County School Board for keeping its students out of schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aliscia Andrews, former Republican nominee for Virginia’s 10th District, shared the video on Twitter, where it exploded. . .

Andrews — also a Marine veteran — shared the video late Tuesday night and captioned it, “As a parent, this pandemic has brought forth some incredible challenges. This dad has had enough, we all have. No real metrics to safely open the schools, while the [school board] continues to kick the can further down the road. Many parents feel just as he does. #LCPS #openschools[.]”

In the video, a masked dad be seen addressing the school board.

He calmly begins, “You should all be fired from your day jobs, because if your employers knew that you were more inefficient than the DMV, you would be replaced in a heartbeat. I literally just finished a conference call because I’m having to multitask to be here to address you guys. You’re a bunch of cowards hiding behind our children as an excuse for keeping schools closed. Not Even Amateur Radio Will Be Safe in the Future: Mass Collection of RF Audio and Geolocational Data Underway

In the past, intelligence analysts have only had access to classified government satellite data when assessing radio frequency use all over the world. Now, a pilot program with HawkEye 360 is feeding those analysts commercial RF data, potentially opening the floodgates to a torrent of new unclassified data.

“NGA’s analyst community has never had access to commercial RF before. It’s always been in the domain of the government, for them to collect and supply to the analyst,” CEO John Serafini told C4ISRNET. “It’s been highly classified data.”

RF signals play a massive role in the modern world, enabling communications across vast distances without physical connections. With its formation-flying satellites, HawkEye 360 aims to make that invisible world visible. It’s satellites can detect RF emissions all over the world, which can then be used to identify and geolocate the signals’ origins. That level of analysis has a number of applications for the defense and intelligence community, from simply improving maritime domain awareness by detecting ships that have disabled their automatic identification system, to giving war fighters a better understanding of RF activity on the battlefield.

In September, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency launched the RF GEOINT Pilot program, importing HawkEye 360′s unclassified data as well as the company’s processed analytics.

Woman Who Was Fired After Capitol Riots Sues Former Employer for Adopting Version of Events Advanced by ‘Cancel Culture Media’

A California woman who was fired after posting about her so-called uplifting experience at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 filed a wrongful termination and retaliation lawsuit claiming that she merely participated in a peaceful protest while her employer had simply bought into a “cancel culture” narrative.

Leah Snyder, a computer programmer and coder at Alight Solutions, was terminated after she posted two selfies of herself at the Capitol, claiming it “was a peaceful and fun day,” and telling others the media was lying about what transpired.

Another social media user pointed out the fact that people had died during the riots, saying that was a pretty clear indicator of who was actually lying about happened.

“Yes. The media,” Snyder answered. “If people got in it’s because they let them in. I think the woman shot was a huge mistake. I talked to the guards. They said they were told to stand down until they got an order and were super nice. They said they would let us know if they did. They never did the whole time. We were told to go home around 5 and everyone did. So nope. Not a liar. The media is. Turn it off for the love of god.”

Snyder’s filed complaint said she had nothing to do with the insurrection at the Capitol—which resulted in at least five deaths (including one police officer), and dozens of arrests. Snyder, like others who were fired after self-reporting their presence at the Capitol on Jan. 6, said she was only peacefully protesting that day. X-Ray Worker Who Was ‘So Excited’ to Get COVID Vaccine Dies Days After ‘Severe Reaction’

An x-ray technician who shared his excitement about getting his coronavirus vaccine died days later after what his wife claims was a reaction to it. Tim Zook, from Santa Ana in California, wrote: ‘Never been so excited to get a shot before. I am now fully vaccinated after receiving my 2nd Pfizer dose’ on Facebook on January 5.

The 60 year-old uploaded a photo of his arm with a Band-Aid on it, as well as a snap of his vaccination card. But just hours later Zook suffered an upset stomach at work, and began struggling to breathe.

His colleagues walked him to the emergency room at South Coast Global Medical Center, with Zook’s wife Rochelle texting him to ask: ‘Should I be worried?’

He answered ‘No. Absolutely not.’ Zook also told Rochelle that he didn’t think his symptoms were related to the Pfizer vaccine. Biden’s Already-Politicized DHS Uses National Alert System to Warn That “False-Narratives” About Election Are Fueling Domestic Terrorism

Using a federal system designed to warn all Americans about terrorist threats to the U.S. homeland, the Department of Homeland Security has issued a warning that anger “fueled by false narratives,” especially unfounded claims about the 2020 presidential election, could lead some inside the country to launch attacks in the coming weeks.

“Information suggests that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence,” according to a bulletin issued Wednesday through the DHS National Terrorist Advisory System — or NTAS.

The system was last used to issue a public warning a year ago, when DHS issued a bulletin over potential retaliation by Iran for the U.S. assassination of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq days earlier. A year before that, DHS issued a bulletin through the same system to highlight the threat from foreign terrorist groups like ISIS or al-Qaida.

But over the past year, domestic terrorists “motivated by a range of issues, including anger over COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 election results, and police use of force have plotted and on occasion carried out attacks against government facilities,” and “long-standing racial and ethnic tension — including opposition to immigration — has driven [domestic terrorist] attacks,” the bulletin issued Wednesday said. Indian Tribe: Biden Just ‘Attacked’ Our Sovereignty

The Ute Indian Tribe, the second largest Indian reservation in the United States, sent a letter to Acting Secretary of the Interior Scott de la Vega about President Joe Biden’s executive order that put a 60-day moratorium on permits relating to onshore and offshore oil and gas development. Those permits also include drilling.

According to the Tribe’s Chairman, Luke Duncan, the executive order will have a harmful impact on his people. He is asking for the Department of the Interior to make an exemption to the order, allowing for permits to take place on tribal lands.

“Your order is a direct attack on our economy, sovereignty, and our right to self-determination,” Duncan wrote. “Indian lands are not federal public lands. Justice Department Charges Twitter Troll Over Four-Year Old Meme About Hillary Clinton

On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced charges against a social media influencer for a meme that was circulated in the weeks running up to the 2016 presidential election. According to the complaint, the meme erroneously informed Hillary Clinton voters they could cast their ballots simply by texting a number from their cell phones.

Prosecutors allege 31-year-old Douglas Mackey, aka Ricky Vaughn, of West Palm Beach, Florida, interfered with the 2016 election by using social media to deprive individuals of their right to vote. At the time, Mackey had a Twitter audience of approximately 58,000 followers and was ranked by the MIT Media Lab as the 107th most influential influencer in the then-upcoming election.

According to the complaint, between Sep. 2016 and Nov. 2016, Mackey conspired with others to use social media platforms, like Twitter, to direct Hillary Clinton voters toward an invalid method of voting. The complaint cites a Nov. 2016 meme tweeted by the defendant that depicts an African American woman standing in front of a Clinton campaign sign. The meme included the text, “Avoid the Line.
