Michigan Governor Visited Florida While Telling Residents Not to Travel

Her spokesman confirmed Monday that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer flew to Florida more than four weeks ago. The formal announcement raises glaring questions over why Whitmer has been criticizing Florida’s handling of the pandemic and urging Michiganders to not leave the state she has kept in one of the tightest lockdowns in the nation.

“In the past six months, she has left the state three times, once for the inauguration, once to assist her elderly father who is battling a chronic illness, and once to visit with Michigan’s National Guard troops,” said Bobby Leddy, Whitmer’s press secretary. “All trips were very brief, two full days or less, closely followed public health guidelines, and were made when Michigan’s daily positivity rate was in the low single digits.”

Breitbart News reported last week that a top Whitmer aide traveled to Florida for spring break and posted several pictures. Tricia L. Foster, appointed by Whitmer as the Michigan chief operations officer, documented her trip comprehensively on Facebook.

The new information further contradicts Whitmer’s continued efforts to lock down her state. Whitmer’s press secretary called the Breitbart report “a partisan attack from a garbage white nationalist website” in an email to Newsweek. Leddy did not clarify to Newsweek whether Foster was vaccinated prior to her trip.

In May 2020, Whitmer was criticized for telling Michigan residents and property owners to stay home on Memorial Day Weekend after the public learned her husband had pressured a locked-down dock owner to get their boat in the water that same weekend at a vacation spot 150 miles away from their home. Impeach And Remove Maxine Waters; Unhinged Waters Orders BLM: Get More Confrontational (VIDEO)

By New York Post. In supporting the second impeachment of President Trump, California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters said he was “inciting” his followers, and was “trying to create a Civil War.”

By her own standards, Maxine Waters should be impeached and removed.

On Sunday in Minnesota, Waters, breaking the law by violating curfew (because “she didn’t agree with it”) said that if ex-police officer Derek Chauvin is not found guilty of murdering George Floyd, “We’ve got to get more confrontational.” . . .

This isn’t the first time Waters has incited her supporters. In 2018, she told them to harass Trump administration officials. “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she said. (Read more from “Impeach And Remove Maxine Waters” HERE)

Unhinged Maxine Waters Orders BLM: Get More Confrontational (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) joined demonstrators Saturday evening outside the police station in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, and told Americans to take to the streets unless Derek Chauvin is convicted for murder in the death of George Floyd.

Waters joined protesters who are angry over the shooting of Daunte Wright, 20, as he fled arrest after a traffic stop earlier this month. Officers discovered that there was a warrant for Wright’s arrest over accusations of attempted aggravated robbery and a gun violation. Police officer Kim Potter threatened to use her Taser against Wright, but shot him instead; he later died. . .

“We’re looking for a guilty verdict,” Waters said. “And we’re looking to see if all of the talk that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd, if nothing does not happen, then we know that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice,” she said. . .

Judge In Chauvin Case Rips Maxine Waters: ‘Disrespectful To The Rule Of Law … Abhorrent’; Pelosi DEFENDS Congresswoman’s Disturbing Comments; WH: Protesting Injustice ‘Most American Thing Anyone Can Do’

By Breitbart. Judge Peter Cahill blasted Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) on Monday for her remarks Saturday that there should be unrest if the jury fails to convict Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd in Hennepin County, Minnesota. . .

“I’ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned,” he said, later adding:

I’m aware of the media reports, I’m aware that Congresswoman Waters was talking specifically about this trial, and about the unacceptability of anything less than a murder conviction, talked about being confrontational — but you can submit the press articles about that. This goes back to what I’ve been saying from the beginning. I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law,, and to the judicial branch and our function. I think if they want to give their opinions, they should do so in a respectful, and in a manner that is respectful to the Constitution, to respect the co-equal branch of government. Their failure to do so, I think, is abhorrent, but I don’t think it has prejudiced this, with additional material that would prejudice this jury. … A congresswoman’s opinion really doesn’t matter a whole lot.

White House on Derek Chauvin Verdict: Protesting Injustice ‘Most American Thing Anyone Can Do’

By Breitbart. White House press secretary Jen Psaki spoke Monday about President Joe Biden’s support for protests, ahead of the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial in Minnesota.

“His view is also that exercising First Amendment rights and protesting injustice is the most American thing that anyone can do,” Psaki said.

She added that Biden wanted the protests to remain peaceful.

Psaki responded with the president’s views during the White House press briefing after she was asked for a response to comments by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) calling for a “more confrontational” approach if the jury found Chauvin not guilty. ‘Fear Is Being Used To Control You’: Major Protest Rips Masks, Vaccines (VIDEO)

By WND. As Americans grow weary of the coronavirus pandemic, sentiments against mandated mask-wearing and vaccines continue to be unfurled.

One recent event featured hundreds of people burning face masks and voicing opposition to COVID-19 shots as they marched at Las Olas Beach, the Highway A1A hotspot made famous during spring break over the years in Fort Lauderdale.

The April 10 protest was billed as the “Million Maskless March,” and the crowd was estimated to be between 200 and 500.

“We are done with it. We are saying, ‘No more masks!'” activist Steven Hoffman told Daniel Varela, a videographer for the Miami Herald. “We are not going to take it anymore. It has become a symbol of tyranny and oppression on the people.”

Hundreds Protest Manitoba’s COVID-19 Public Health Orders At The Forks

By CBC News. Hundreds of people gathered at The Forks in Winnipeg on Saturday to protest Manitoba’s public health orders, breaking gathering rules in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 as well as more contagious coronavirus variants.

Among those in attendance was Tobias Tissen, the minister of the Church of God in Sarto, Man. His congregation has been fined numerous times for holding large, in-person gatherings in violation of public health orders.

Members of the group have also clashed with police and enforcement officers.

Patrick Allard, who has organized anti-mask protests and runs the Manitoba Together Facebook group, which espouses freedom of speech and freedom of choice messages, was also there.

A CBC videographer at the protest estimated roughly 300 people were in attendance. (Read more from “Hundreds Protest Manitoba’s COVID-19 Public Health Orders At The Forks” HERE)

Study Reveals Media Bias Towards Joe Biden Presidency Compared To Trump

A study found President Joe Biden has received a far larger amount of positive news coverage than former President Trump did during their respective first three months in office.

Between January 20 and April 9, 2021, the study found Biden received 59 percent positive press exposure while Trump was hit with 89 percent negative evening news coverage from ABC, CBS, and NBC during the same time period in 2017, according to MRC News Busters.

The study also discovered Biden received coverage amounting to only 726 minutes of all evening news airtime for the three stations. Trump, meanwhile, attracted the media’s attention far more with 1,900 minutes.

The media’s three most covered topics of Biden in the first three months were his coronavirus response (79 percent positive), the coronavirus spending bill (86 percent positive), and the southern border crisis (82 percent negative).

Trump, on the other hand, received 93 percent negative coverage on his immigration priorities. (Read more from “Study Reveals Media Bias Towards Joe Biden Presidency Compared To Trump” HERE)

Supreme Court Declines Pennsylvania Voting Dispute Months After Election

By Washington Examiner. The Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up a Pennsylvania voting dispute more than five months after the 2020 presidential election.

The decision, which was released in an unsigned order, turned away an appeal from several Pennsylvania Republicans seeking to challenge voting rules put in place prior to the 2020 election. (Read more from “Supreme Court Declines Pennsylvania Voting Dispute Months After Election” HERE)

Hundreds Of CEOs Are Taking A Stand Against New Republican Voting Laws

By Yahoo Finance. Hundreds of companies, such as Apple, Amazon, BlackRock, and Facebook, and executives, Warren Buffett among them, have signed on to a statement opposing “any discriminatory legislation” that would make it more difficult for Americans to vote.

The statement, which ran as a two-page ad in the New York Times and the Washington Post on Wednesday, is the strongest message yet in a heightening fight between Republican legislators who seek to implement more restrictive voting laws and the corporations who oppose them.

The signed statement came together in just days, and was spearheaded by Kenneth Chenault, a former chief executive of American Express, and Kenneth Frazier, the chief executive of Merck. (Read more from “Hundreds Of CEOs Are Taking A Stand Against New Republican Voting Laws” HERE)

Dem Governor Admits GOP Lawsuits, Courts Are Restraining Her COVID Tyranny

After inadvertently admitting last week that Michigan’s harsh lockdowns have not deterred the “raging” COVID-19 pandemic, Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said on Sunday she now lacks the “same tools” to enforce such policies. Nevertheless, the governor’s administration proposed more restrictions.

On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Whitmer told anchor Chuck Todd that she has lost the ability to sustain executive action for lockdown orders.

“I have been sued by my legislature. I have lost in a Republican-controlled Supreme Court,” Whitmer said. “I don’t have all of the exact same tools. Despite those things, we still have some of the strongest mitigation measures in the country.”

” … I’m working with a smaller set of tools at my disposal, and that’s why we really do need, and appreciate, the additional help we’re getting from the federal government,” Whitmer said. (Read more from “Dem Governor Admits GOP Lawsuits, Courts Are Restraining Her COVID Tyranny” HERE)

SCOTUS Punts on Second Amendment Cases, Raising Real Questions How “Conservative” New Members Are

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up three challenges to a federal ban on gun ownership for people convicted of nonviolent crimes, disappointing Second Amendment advocates who hoped a more conservative court would begin to chip away at the restriction.

By not taking the appeals, the nation’s highest court let stand a series of lower court rulings that prohibited people convicted of driving under the influence, making false statements on tax returns and selling counterfeit cassette tapes from owning a gun.

The decisions Monday, which were handed down without explanation, are the latest in a series of instances in which the Supreme Court has skirted Second Amendment questions. The high court last issued major guns rights rulings in 2008 and 2010, cases that struck down handgun restrictions in the District of Columbia and Chicago.

Gun rights groups vowed to continue to press the issue.

“While we are disappointed the Supreme Court chose to allow grossly improper lower court rulings to stand, (we) will continue our aggressive litigation strategy,” said Adam Kraut, senior director of legal operations at the Firearms Policy Coalition, which represented several of the petitioners. Documents Show Maxine Waters Requested Police Escort Before Advocating For Increased Violence

New documents obtained by Townhall show Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters requested an armed police escort to Minneapolis over the weekend, where she called for violent activists to “stay in the streets” during a protest against law enforcement.

Waters flew from Dulles International Airport to Minnesota-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday, April 17, just days ahead of a verdict in the George Floyd, Officer Derek Chauvin trial.

That night, Waters went to meet with protestors and demanded a guilty verdict for Chauvin “or else.”

Police: Two Dead After Driverless Tesla Slammed Into Tree And Burst Into Flames (VIDEO)

Two people were killed Saturday night in a fiery crash involving a Tesla, according to Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman. . .

Constable Herman said the 2019 Tesla Model S was traveling on a roadway and at some point, the vehicle, which deputies said was traveling at a high rate of speed, came to a slight curve. Deputies say the car went off the roadway, crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

Herman said it took firefighters nearly four hours and more than 30,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. . .

https://youtu.be/uitcohyo87c

Once the fire was put out, Herman said deputies recovered two bodies from the Telsa and neither one of them was behind the wheel. Herman said one person was found in the front passenger seat and the other person was in the backseat. . .

“They are 100 percent certain that no one was in the driver seat driving that vehicle at the time of impact. They are positive,” Herman said. “And again, the height from the back seat to the front seat, that would be almost impossible, but again our investigators are trained. They handle collisions. Several of our folks are reconstructionists, but they feel very confident just with the positioning of the bodies after the impact that there was no one driving that vehicle.”
